Very good and delicious food, the staffs are very efficient and friendly. Love coming here to celebrate any occasion. The only thing is their restaurant is old and not really clean. Hope they can do some upgrades and remodeling soon.

Great lunch spot . Good Cantonese food with lunch specials . Every dish was tasty and not too saucy. My family loved it.

Came here to celebrate father's day with my family. My dad really knows how to order. We got a total of 9 dishes and could hardly finish them, but no worries - we can just togo. Good price for yummy authentic chinese food. Comes with complimentary green bean soup at the end. Store is organized and clean.

The local spot for Chinese food. It's still very busy, so I can see it being intimidating for people who don't speak Chinese. The cashier at the front speaks English. It's busy no matter lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable. Get the bitter melon soup. Credit card/Apple Pay accepted. Bathroom in the back. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Came here for family gathering. I was surprised they have lunch special menu on weekends. Winter melon soup was ordered a day earlier and it was delicious. Fried squid was ok, fried fish looked like it was undercooked I have never seen fried fish color like this. Sweet and sour spare ribs was delicious. Another highlight dish was steam pork with salty fish. We ordered a lot of dishes and I have no complaints. They are all pretty descent and acceptable. I will be back. Service is what you would expect from typical Chinese restaurants.

Mr. Chopstick is THE place to eat amazing, authentic Cantonese food. It was packed when I went there. They have very good service - polite, quick, diligent, and no frills. Same thing with the interior - Simple decor, round tables, a backdrop, and no frills. The pictures outside are a bit worn down, but that's how you know they've got good history! The signs inside are also mostly written in Chinese. Even so, the staff speaks English a the menu also has English, so there won't be language barriers. The food is AMAZING! Comes in big portion and is very affordable, better than what my family can make at home. The highlights for me are the fried salt pepper pork, fish with Chinese broccoli, and stir fried beef. Lastly, they provide complementary dessert soup. Overall, I loved eating here and will come here whenever I want to take a break from cooking at home!

Let me start by saying the portions are absolutely humongous so you must bring friends or family to help share all the food! We ordered a bunch of different lunch specials that came with a pretty good soup with a bunch of carrots in it. We ordered fried squid, beef chow fun, orange chicken, tofu, and a whole fried fish. The fried squid was lightly breaded and fried really well. I really enjoyed the orange chicken. The sauces in the tofu were not too salty and everything was cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend bringing a big group. Service was quick. We finished our meal and under 45 minutes. There were a lot of families when we visited definitely worth the price and the visit!

This is a very popular mom and pop Chinese restaurant that my mom loves. We can come here once a while, and the food is always great overall. Not every dish is perfect, but they charge a reasonable price and give large portions along with great service is why they deserve a 5 stars rating. Recently they have a very good promotion for lobsters! So we came here twice within a week! It's only $20 per lb as of this week! Not sure how long it lasts but very delicious and fresh lobsters! Also my favorite dish here is actually their dessert, steamed milk pudding! OMG it's the best Ive had in LA and I would just come here for their dessert! The servers are very nice and consistent with their attitude throughout the years even during busy times. Because some Chinese restaurants have some servers that be stressed when it's busy and become impatient with customers. I never experienced that here! Ambiance is a very classic Chinese restaurant that isn't fancy but comfortable enough to have a casual family dinner. Even during inflation time, they still charge a reasonable price with huge portions. Not sure why they only have a lower rating all these years. They deserve more than 3.7 stars!

Hidden gem in El Monte. Located in a small plaza where parking can be a bit issue since it gets pretty busy there. I love love their food. Reasonable price with generous portions. Ambiance is a typical chinese restaurant. Service can be a hit or miss depending how busy they are. But i will definetly go back.

** CUSTOMERS BEWARE ** ALWAYS double-check your bill. This restaurant will overcharge you if you don't pay close attention. We came for their lunch specials and ordered five dishes. The total came out to $145, when it should have been around $75--an overcharge of about $70. I've attached a photo of the incorrect bill (check #0046416) for reference. When I brought this up to another server, she kindly re-calculated it and confirmed the mistake. I asked who had done the original calculation, and she pointed to the person I believe is the manager. When I asked him how he came up with that total, he brushed me off, told the server to fix it, and walked away without even making eye contact. His attitude and body language gave off a very shady vibe, like an "Oh, I got caught--oh well" moment. It really makes me wonder how many other customers have been overcharged without realizing it. As for the restaurant itself, the lunch specials were reasonably priced, and portion sizes were fine. The service, however, could use improvement -- we had to ask multiple times for basic things. We ordered the fish filet with black bean sauce, chicken with vegetables, beef chow fun with soy sauce, a rice vermicelli dish, and roasted squab. The fish filet and beef chow fun were decent. My parents enjoyed the squab, and my wife liked the chicken with vegetables. However, we'd all pass on the rice vermicelli. Overall, given the circumstances of the overcharged bill, we won't be returning to support this kind of practice. If you do decide to eat here, please make sure to review your bill carefully before paying.

The good ol' Chinese family style sit down with the lazy Susan to spin and share. I'm not sure if it was just the group I was with or the staff aren't very attentive. Like they know Uncle really well they don't waste their time walking over. The type of familiarity where you just yell across the room for what you want. The food is amazing as always, this visit especially since the garlic fried pork was on point.

    Miranda C.

The servers don't even pay attention to you and are rude. We asked for to-go bags and boxes and they told us to get ourselves. There was a piece of hair in my shrimp...gross. The food was not good. Tables and chairs were dirty. Usually I don't mind bad service if the food is good but this is all around terrible.

This is my second visit to Mr. Chopsticks since the end of the pandemic. One reason is that the ownership has changed, and we are unfamiliar with the servers except for one. However, I am glad I chose to come back. Since our party is small and we can't make a reservation. We opted to come early to get a table. Wow, it seems our early is not easy enough. The parking lot and the restaurant were full when we arrived. I waited for 20 minutes for a table, which is not bad. We ordered the fried pigeon, crab meat soup, beef cube, tofu, and O Choy. All of them were delicious. The service may be lacking, but if you have patience, you will get their attention and get the service.

They opened and closed the door for us which was a nice touch because it was busy inside. We ordered the pork ramen, pork buns, and pork soup dumplings. On to the food! Pork Ramen: 3/5 They give you a hefty amount of noodles and pork. They use a thin noodle here which pairs well with the broth. I truly do believe this was around average for ramen as the flavor in the broth was not as strong or savory. The highlight of the entire entree was definitely the pork, which was tender and flavorful. I probably would not order this again. Pork bun: 5/5 The pork buns were soft and fluffy, almost too good looking to eat. There was the right amount of soup and meat inside that made for a wonderful bite full of flavor. Not dry at all. Would recommend ordering this if you visit. Pork Dumplings: 5/5 The star of the show, the dumplings. They were soft and just like the buns, they had the right amount of soup + meat which made for a delicious bite every time. My toddler even ate some and she's usually super picky about meat. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here for the other noodles, the dumplings, and buns. You can skip on the ramen. I would 100% come back here to dine in. Quick note that parking gets full pretty quick here.

The portions are actually quite massive for each dish. All of it was very solid and tasty Chinese food. We were definitely very stuffed after this lunch was over! Service here is solid enough for a Chinese place. They were pretty quick with getting us extra plates to change out our dirty plates and more bowls as needed. And they were quick with the water. But yeah, you do have to flag them down to get their attention. They do have a parking lot here, and we got here early enough on a Sunday where parking wasn't an issue. However, I can see it being a problem on busier days. Boston Lobster is definitely worth a visit if you want solid Chinese food at a fair affordable price. Really good!

It is considered…read moreto be one of the best destinations for fresh seafood, with the accent on Chinese cuisine. What has shunned me from this place, is the distance and the traffic, from the SFV. Finally, I made the journey. And arrived for lunch, on a weekday. To come here and not order their iconic Signature dish, the House Special Newport Style Lobster, would be a sin. Imagine a trip that was almost 40 miles and an hour of traffic (one way), with no reward. It was time to experience the real thing. The signature dish. Walking in solo, I was given a booth. I liked that. On seating, I ordered a beverage to quench my thirst, catch my bearings and breath. Almost immediately, the servers kept bugging me to order. The place was barely 1/4th occupied. Whats the hurry. After all this, I had to repeatedly tell them, that i had already spoken with a server, regarding my order. Just wanted to relax first, catch my breath, sip my beverage. Coming here, I was aware that their tank lobsters would be in the 4-6 pound range. Good for, and ordered by, at least 3-4 people. So when I, as a solo diner, ordered a 4-pound lobster (with no other choice), just for myself, they began to leave me alone and give me more respect. The cut up wok prepared, House Special Newport Style Lobster, arrives wonderfully presented, with heaps of leeks, scallions and jalapenos. My kind of recipe. Truly unique and exceptional. There is no sauce, and only a mild flavor, yet tasty. My biggest concern here was (after reading numerous internet reviews), that the lobster would be rubbery and dry. Not so for me. I lucked out. Problem here is, while there is lots of meat (a 4 pound lobster will yield at the most, about a pound of meat), they do not have, or provide, the essential lobster cutlery, to do justice to this beautiful crustacean. I did ask though. They did not seem to care and told me to use my fork. LOL. Steamed rice is complimentary. So is a soup, with sweet and sour, being the only choice (I did not like this). Either way, my plan was to take leftovers (there was a lot), home, where I possess high class lobster cracking tools. And thank heavens I did. They were most useful, to crack and dig into all the lobster meat, that would have been inaccessible at the restaurant. With additional TLC, the leftovers held up well, to provide several additional lobster meals. Need to go back to try their enticing and reasonably priced variety of lunch specials (more seafood, choices minus lobster). Another sought after box on my list, is now checked.
