Just moved to the area so I yelp'd it and just guessed on which restaurant to go to. We got pork fried rice, chicken chow mein w/"white meat only" & pork potstickers. The potstickers had a unique taste but it was a good flavor. The fried rice was decent but the chicken chow mein did not have much actual chicken which was disappointing. Mostly noodles with only a handful of small pieces of chicken. I would like it a lot more if there was more chicken. Otherwise I would probably try it again. read more

I've heard of this place but stayed away because I always thought anything with "Mr" or "chopstix" in the name was either fast food or just very basic Chinese food. I was wrong, this restaurant had a pretty legit Szechwan (or Taiwanese) menu (or at least what I considered to be legit Szechwan food but really, what do I know?) anyway, my party of 3 proceeded to order with hot and sour soup, spicy pork wontons, pork and onion pan fried bao with beef and onion, the beef roll, green bean spareribs chow mein, mapo tofu, lamb cumin. Keep in mind everything is family style so everything from the soup to entrees is a pretty big serving. On a scale from 1-5 Hot and sour soup: I prefer more of a sour soup, I give this 3.5 star it also wasn't too spicy, it was good but probably won't order again Spicy pork wontons: rating 3, not spicy to me, wont order this one again Pork and onion pan fried bao: 5! One of my favorite things on the menu, will order this again! Beef roll: 5! One of my favorite things ordered, will order again! Green bean sparerib chow mein: 5! This was different but good! The only complaint I have about this place is the inconsistent service, but other than that, Mr. Chopstix is the best spot in Vegas for Northern Chinese cuisine. They serve, IMO, the best beef noodle soup in town, and my buddy and fellow yelper John O. (Nkwachukwu) can attest to that. The broth is packed with flavor and spice, and the noodles are hand-made and have the perfect texture. The dumplings here are also on point, whether you get them steamed or pan-fried. I usually get the pork and chives. The lamb skewers are also really tasty (priced at $2 per skewer), but I gotta say that Chengdu does it best with their toothpick lamb. The fried rice is a little bit on the wetter side but also really good. In fact, I'm craving Mr. ChopStix as I'm writing this right now...f*ck me. Service has never been an issue for us. We always order so much food for us 2 that at one point our waitress was worried we didn't like the food cause we still had a decent amount of leftovers. I have no complaints to say about this place at all. The whole experience was amazing. Firstly, the food was sublime; authentic and full of flavor. I had ordered way too much for a party of two: salt and pepper pork chop, spicy pork wonton, beef roll, and spicy noodle soup that forgot exactly what it's called, and while it doesn't seem a lot, the serving is more than enough. The flavors are very well balance and you really will love to keep eating more and more of it. Those wontons in chili oil alone is addictive. The ambience is also very nice, casual and laid back and spacious. I guess the only negative thing I would have to say if there's any is the location feels like it's in the middle of nowhere; there aren't much else in the area. The pancake hype is real! Mr. Chopstix may have a silly name but they are super serious about their pancakes. Sit at the bar to watch your order get made fresh in their open kitchen. The pork and chive is my choice but the beef/onion version gets a lot of raves too. Feel your anticipation build as you watch the chef stretch and form the dough, scoop and stuff the filling, shape your pancake, and slap it on the grill. Then wait what seems like forever, because these juicy babies take awhile. But they are worth the wait: piping hot, savory pockets best enjoyed with a heap of chili oil. I recommend getting your own order because it will be hard to share. Better yet, just make this your entire order. Add on a couple of lamb skewers if you want, but really the pancakes are what you came here for. And the cute drink cups. I've become a regular here. If you're feeling like some comfort food and you enjoy Asian flavors, I'd give this a try. The wonton soup this time was AM-AZING! They are usually very friendly and always refilling your water (if that's what you choose). Clean and welcoming. Music is usually not too loud (not a fan of places you can't even hold a conversation). I usually just get the same thing, don't ask. Let me just start by saying I was very impressed with Mr. Chopstix. GREAT Chinese food and I didn't have to go all the way to Chinatown. I ordered quite a few things because it was my first meal of the day and I was hungry with my eyes lol. The Hot n sour soup had great flavor, but had too much white pepper which made it extra spicy which I could handle but I wanted to enjoy it more. It needed just a touch more vinegar and would've been A+ perfection. The Chinese sausage fried rice was super yummy. I'm not use to corn and bean sprouts in my fried rice but I dig it. The Toothpick lamb was very bold in flavor. Right away you can taste the cumin. I love the fact that the chilies are lightly toasted, it really brings out the flavor. Not entirely sure but I want to say there's some schechuwan peppercorn in it because my tongue is slightly numb. Flavor is amazing. Little chunks of ginger were a nice touch especially if you're a ginger lover. I found it complimented the gaminess of the lamb. The Gizzard skewers were my favorite. I loved the smokiness from the grill/that grill flavor. The seasoning was on point. I should've ordered five of them to myself. As far as staff goes, they were very attentive and friendly. The fried dumpling was good but got a little soggy in delivery it would probably taste better served at the restaurant. Beef broccoli had a nice crisp and clean sauce with crunchy broccoli! *Pre-Covid* My family and I were super excited to try this place because it seemed to offer dishes we don't typically see on every menu. Between the four of us we ordered two appetizers and an entree for each of us. After about forty minutes of no sign of any food coming out, our waitress apologized and brought out the appetizers, one of which was wrong. When we explained, she apologized and brought back the correct one after another twenty minutes. The rest of our food came out probably about an hour after we had been seated, and they had given us another wrong item which had to be sent back. At this point we were frustrated from the wait and lack of proper communication between our server and the kitchen because when our orders were taken they were clearly understood before being put in. Although there were other patrons, they were only in parties of two and we were the first people to arrive. Our server apologized and said it was because they only had one chef working because the other called out, which we sympathized with, but it would have been much better to be told this before being seated. Our server did not pass by our table enough for us to contact them so we had to ask a different server to call them over. Lastly, on the bill thwy chargers us for one of the dishes they gave us but didn't order, so once again there was a misunderstanding there that didn't make for a happy ending with this place. Service aside, the food was pretty good, but it was very difficult to look past everything that went wrong. If I lived on the west side, I'd probably frequent this Chinese/Taiwanese joint more often. This place has a winning combination of good food, service, pricing and ambience. Items tried: Spicy pork wontons Braised pork noodle soup Chicken and eggplant Mr. Chopstix makes a good version of spicy pork wontons. There's a lot of flavor going on and enough heat to tingle your tongue. I have not been to one of the newer places in town to offer this dish (Shang), but my husband has. He prefers the way Mr. Chopstix makes theirs compared to Shang, Noodle Pot II, and Noodle man. The soup was really good and of course the tender and tasty pork was the star of the dish. The chicken and eggplant was our favorite dish here. Adding tofu is optional. The flavor was great and much more refined than a typical eggplant/tofu dish at a Chinese take out place. I like the way they cut the eggplant into thin strips to get some crunch and texture on the outside, rather than large, soggy eggplant pieces that other places serve. I think for Asian places that serve entrees like the chicken and eggplant, white rice should be included. When our dishes were served to us there was no rice. We assumed it was automatically part of the meal. Apparently, white rice is an extra charge. A slight annoyance, since we couldn't eat right away and had to pay extra. They offer boba drinks here. I tried to order a green milk tea, but for some reason they couldn't make it. Our server said they could only do the flavored iced teas. Not sure if it was an ingredient issue or lack of trained staff to make the drink. The interior was done nicely and I like the open kitchen concept. Service was very polite and attentive. The restaurant is designed a little strange with a glass walled kitchen in the center of the restaurant... although nice I believe it makes it difficult for the servers to keep track of the tables. Wow that is the best Chinese food I've ever had for a few reasons. The Mongolian Beef you can tell had fresh herbs in it that gave it so much depth and flavor The chow mein was fantastic. Usually chow mein noodles taste very processed and are harder or chewy. These noodles tasted fresh like they are handmade, definitely not the standard boiled hard noodle. So the noodle holds all the flavor. Potstickers - beef and onion were so good. Again you can really taste fresh herbs! Didn't need any sauce. Let me start with the only thing good about this place is the food. Service was horrible and we were treated like we didn't exist. I understand if they are understaffed, but they were just disrespectful in general. A family was seated after us and had there order taken before us right after they were seated. We were there at least 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged. That family also got all of there food, ate, and paid the check before we got our entrees. We asked if our food was coming because we were getting frustrated and they talked back to us saying that the family that came before us didn't order as much as we did even though there was 3 of them and 4 of us (their order was still taken before our and they ordered quite a bit of food). Mr. ChopStix is an OK place. I stopped here for a late lunch/early dinner and ordered too much as it turned out. For an appetizer, I ordered the Chinese pancake with pork and cabbage stuffing. I ordered noodles dan dan and a mango iced tea. The meal was brought in reverse. Since it took longer for the pancakes to be made than the noodles, I got the noodle dish first and as I was eating that, the pancakes were brought. Sometime in between the noodles and the pancake, I asked about the iced tea which had not yet been delivered. She went to the drink bar area and retrieved an iced tea for me. When I ordered the noodles, the server checked to make sure I knew they were spicy. Yes, I knew, but they weren't. On the tables are condiments common to noodle and rice shops. Take the red jar of spicy chili pepper and oil and spoon heaping amounts on the noodles if you want your noodles spicy. The noodles were brought out so quickly they weren't sufficiently heated tasting just a bit over room temperature. I didn't boiling hot noodles but they should have bene heated more. The pancakes are definitely a dish to share when there is more than one person but I made the sacrifice and finished both pancakes and the noodle dish. Except for the drink, service was good and the young woman came by several times to check. There are plenty of noodle shops in this city that are better and will get my future business. I am not sure where the positive reviews for this restaurant are coming from. I ordered $97 worth of food and didn't want to eat any of it. The $29 rack of lamb ribs were dry and tasteless. I have added pictures so you can see how the ribs are advertised and what they really look like. I feel like I've been catfished by those ribs, they were fatty and lacking any spice at all. I also ordered wings, pork pockets, pan-fried buns and the beef roll. I tasted all of them and was severely disappointed. I asked for extra sauce and got 2 small containers for 5 different items.
