First off let's just talk about the lack of service here. Me and my friend sat down no suggestions on drinks or food. No asking if we knew how the service worked. We ordered oysters and they didn't shuck the oysters properly and gave us plastic spoons to do so. They also left the cold oyster plate on the table for the whole service as well as the other app plates. Then upon getting our food I had spicy my friend didn't. they gave us the wrong plates after asking me which one I had. No refill on my soda and never gave me my one Togo. We waited 10 minutes for our check and then they brought it they brought it to the wrong table with our card. The food was good but it wasn't worth the place. The place had dirty tables everywhere. My family & I decided to come here since our initial restaurant plan happened to be closed on Monday. The first thing I noticed upon entry was the god awful playlist. The rap made me feel like I was in a club or the hood and that's not really something I want to hear whilst dining or ever really. The place was pretty spacious and I liked the decor by the booths. The catfish we ordered was pretty oily but still hot n pretty good. I wish they had Louisiana hot sauce like every other place though instead of tapatio. Food here was delicious first time here but I felt like I was neglected by my server. That's honestly why I give it a 3 star. Mind you its a Monday night and it wasn't getting busy. I had to ask two other people who weren't my server for a water refill and something to help open my crab legs. By the time I saw someone who worked there, and asked for a crab cracker the cluster was cold. At the end of my meal I saw the clam chowder I ordered in the beginning was there. We were seated right away. Very spacious and a lot of good tv placements. We ordered: Raw oysters 10 chicken wings lemon pepper Clam chowder 2 lbs of shrimp and crawfish. Chicken wings and the seafood was delicious!! Awesome size worth the money. The raw oysters should've been a sign that they were (I'd hate to say it) lazy? So usually when you shuck oysters you detach the muscle from the shell and flip the oyster and serve it with ease. This way the oyster just gets slurped up easy. These oysters looked like it had been sitting out for a while. No presentation. Just kinda of thrown in there haha. the waitress took it off our table without realizing we didn't finish, But we didn't care cause we didn't want the rest of it anymore. The lime slices were extremely dry. As if they'd been days old. I'm talking like fabric fibers dry. Clam chowder was okay. I've only ordered take-out from here and 2 out of the 3 times I've ordered from here, my order has been messed up. 1 out of those 2 times, I was able to notice right away and they were able to add my missing order but it definitely sucks when I don't realize it until I'm back home. Anyway, the Mr. Crab signature flavor is a must get. It's pretty flavorful and goes well with the shrimp and rice. The fries are pretty soggy whenever we get them so we usually just air fry them at home. They have different combo sets if you would like a little bit of everything. Second time here for dinner and it was SO GOOD both times! We ordered two of the combo options (C and E) and the seafood was on-point! Lobster tails, big crab legs, lots of shrimp, clams and crawfish. The Mr Crab seasoning option was perfect - especially with the potatoes and corn on the cob. Also ordered the hush puppies and seasoned Cajun fries. Could have had a second basket of those fries....... YUM. Service was great too. Pleasantly surprised with this establishment. We typically go to Boiling Crab but decided to try out Mr. Crab. The menu is very similar in style to Boiling Crab which we actually liked. We ordered takeout and it was ready in about 15 minutes. Altogether we ordered one pound of King crab legs and a pound of head on shrimp which both came with corn and a couple potatoes. We also added on some sausage and an order of fries. They packaged everything very well since I was a little worried about things leaking. The flavors were good but wished it was even spicier and that the garlic was crushed or chopped up more. Also, we wished the fries were a little better as far as seasoning goes but they were at least crispy. Overall we will definitely return and next time we'll try indoor dining. read more

We got there to Mr.Crab around 7:45pm on a Wednesday night. They told us there was a 20 min wait because they only had 2 waiters. 20 mins passed and the hostess said it might be another 20 mins. Annoyed at that point but it was too late to go anywhere else. We waited in total about 30 mins. Our server came and got our orders and surprisingly food came out fast which is why they get the 2 stars however they forgot 2 steamed rice orders. I asked the server to remove it and he comes back with the receipt with still 1 on there. I go to the hostess who is the one cashing people out and asked her to remove it and she said it's already voided in my system so I asked her what the new total was and she said it was the same amount. Wth?! I told her that doesn't make sense and I wanted a new bill. So then she goes to the waiter who finally voids out the rice but then gratuity is automatically added at 18%. When we checked in it was automatically 15% and there's a sign which we agreed to. It's not that I wasn't willing to pay 18% but it's the principal they they automatically added more that what they posted. So I go to the hostess again and she said there was nothing she can do????? She goes and talks to someone then another waiter came and asked what the issue is so I explained the situation in which then he fixed the receipt. I would not recommend this place. My second time eating here. First time was a OK experience we had dine in the tables were really sticky. There was food particles on the benches and the tables. It took forever to get our orders place and was overcharged for an item I did not Request so my second time we ordered for takeout and I had Hair in my crab boil for a minute, I thought it was a crab here until I pulled out the length of a man's hair straight all black out of my mouth. My child also had hair in her food. Pieces of black hair, human hair call the store was down from Friday to Monday sick with the flu so after being released from the hospital, I decided to call the restaurant to file a complaint which they did not want to accommodate asking for pictures which I did not have as a returning customer. You would think that they would have some sort of accommodation to their customers however, I see this restaurant is only based on money and not satisfying their customers with service. It's a lot of young people in charge with no experience, the young lady on the phone Desiree had a really nasty sarcasm attitude. She then went on to say she was going to reach out to her manager, who was not gonna be available until Wednesday, which now prolong it even more and after she spoke with him, he told her no there's nothing that they can do talk about an experience here at Mr. Crab I would not recommend this place. read more

Went here twice this month and ordered only from the seafood boil menu. I got the head-on shrimp, manila clams, and crawfish in the Mr.Crab sauce (Extra Spicy) along with some extra corn and potatoes. All cooked perfectly and the seafood was flavorful and juicy. I've been to a number of seafood boils (both in the Bay all the way to LA), including Boiling Crab, and this one is comparable without the ridiculous wait. No gritty shrimp that disintegrates as you peel it like I've experienced at some TBC locations. Everything was fresh and the crawfish (though frozen) were big! Ample space with a very relaxed atmosphere. Service was fine, and food came out quick even on a Saturday evening. I'm not sure why people are complaining. That said, I didn't order any of the non-boiled sides, so I can't comment on those. And in case you're wondering if you'd need to get the "extra juicy", I'd say it's pretty saucy and you can definitely skip it if you're only eating for 2 (even with the additional corn and potatoes). The spice level here is on the mellow side though, I'd say extra spicy is about medium spicy at most other establishments. Don't let the bad reviews deter you from trying this place out if you're craving seafood boil! read more

8/19...As I previously said I will be giving them another try and it went without a hitch. Chee was our server for a party of 16, he was awesome-attentive and accommodating. We adjusted the sauce with just 50% Garlic and it was perfect. (Correction on the previous post it was 10 pcs of wings for $14, so basically paid $19 for 10 wings 2 different sauces). They hooked me with a couple of free sodas, so I'm good with it. They don't take reservations but was told I can call the day before to check in. 8/29...Came in with a party of 20 (I called the night before). Jason put us in the party room (so we can take our time), which was great, The experience was better than the last, Jason was very attentive the food was great, everyone was happy. My brother's came from the Bay and they liked it, they didn't feel like the drive was a waste. The only thing was the melted butter, they're charging $1 for it now, which I wasn't informed prior to asking. Jason took it off, which was nice of him but had I known I would've brought my own. JK Overall, they really listen to their customers and if I hadn't said anything, they wouldn't have known and given a chance to make it right. Highly recommend. Don't waste your time and money!! POOR SERVICE: A group of employees standing around just talking. Waited for my takeout order for about 20-25 minutes, to discover it was sitting behind the hostess for who knows how long... no one attempted to call my name and I was the only person in the waiting area! POOR TASTING FOOD: Very little catfish in my po'boy and the taste was blah, I had to dress it up with tarter sauce and lemon, thankfully I had at home. This is my 2nd review. In the 1st one I glorify this place and i kind of still do. But on 2 28 23 my 48th birthday i visited Mr. Crab for dinner with 8 family members. I must say they were friendly at 1st . They kept forgetting to bring the items we asked for so I eventually had an attitude. I had to remind the waitress that for 15% gratuity I can ask for anything I need. Also my crab oil had muscles in it When I never asked for them. It also was not the flavor I ordered. I have been here a couple of times before and the service was fine! However, tonight, the servers and the hosts were all very rude and did not care to attend to our needs. I had to walk up to them to ask for more water and to order more food. I'm especially frustrated considering we had a large party and have to pay gratuity yet the staff were not even helpful and attentive! Within 30 minutes, a hostess drops off the check and says nothing. She obviously sees that we are eating and to add we ordered more, so I was not expecting a check that quick.. when they gave me the check, I asked them if this was the finalized check since we still had food on the way so I hope the order was still coming.. she asked if I wanted it, and I said she can keep the check for now. However, when they gave us the finalized check it turned out to be more expensive. We were confused and they couldn't explain why other than was saying they didn't correctly add the correct tip the first time! How careless of them. Oh my god! If you want gravy with your boil come here. Let me be clear it is a gravy like what you would have on smothered chicken or pork chops. Imagine my shock when I asked what was in their sauce. Here is the kicker, Everyone kept saying the sauce is made with a roux. When I asked are they using flour? They said yes, I said why? And why isn't this on your menu for those that have wheat allergies? This was the nail in the coffin. The also use milk in the roux and the roux is in everything. Imagine my lactose intolerant surprise when this was shared after I ate some of my meal. We tried to get plain butter with some chopped garlic and discovered the roux was in that too..why????. Flour and milk in a sauce filled with heavy spices smh. None of this shared on the menus. As empty as the restaurant was explained a lot I should've payed closer attention. Never again.
