We are big Boiling Crab fans as we can never find a place that has sauce as good as BC. However, after trying this place my husband and I believe their sauce is BETTER than BC. So I decided to try Mr Crab while I was out here on a business trip. Unfortunately the food wasn't every good I made my own combo With crawfish snow crab and clams I got the signature seasoning and spicy. When the food came out I dug right in. Excited to try this place out but once I started I realized made a big mistake coming here. The clam were very sandy I couldn't eat them due to every bit I took I was getting sand. So I moved on the the snow crab which is one of my favorites but again as soon as I cracked a leg opened the meat was mushy.. so I had some doubt with two out of three of the shell fish not being good I moved on to the crawfish. To my surprise the crawfish were huge. But with being said that they also were not great I know most of the food was frozen but again the crawfish were mushy. The seasoning was so so the garlic that was in the seasoning over powering it seemed that there was more garlic chunks the actual food they threw a while baked potato in the bag not even cut up and not even the right kinda of potato for this type of food the corn looked and felt like it's been sitting out for a week that too was soggy. And as for the spicy there was none.. Now for the staff the one lady that took my order was polite but it seemed like she wanted to rush me out of the restaurant she handed my check to me even before I was done eating she never asked if I wanted another drink or how my food was. And on another note her and some other waiter got into a argument over another customer bill. This all happened at the bar I was sitting at and they were screaming at each other very on professional. All in all I will not be returning to Mr Crab anytime soon and should have turned around and walked out when I noticed the place was pretty much empty when I got there. Firstly I want to say I was pleased with how clean the establishment was. Secondly, the customer service was top-tier! Everyone was so patient and polite. Especially my waiter - Giamaurie. He was so kind and attentive, he made me feel happy to be there. Last but certainly not least the food was top-tier as well. I was impressed with the seafood selection. Mr. crabs, let's just say it's a small blessing. From the quality to the good combo deals, this is my go to place when I think of seafood. I used to always go to boiling crab for years stood by them. Boiling crab for sure has that amazing quality but they kind of are a little pricey and are a 30 minute drive out the way. I want a Very Similar place Mr. Crab opened up a few blocks from my house. This place is clean and the staff is courteous.The fish choice is limited as they only serve Tilapia and catfish. I prefer cod so I order the fried prawn. The prawn are huge but cooked well with a lightly fried batter and seasoned. Also I had a beer( only one size offered. The bar tender was a young amateur that wasn't experienced in retracting beer from tap. Glass had 2 inch foam but he was nice enough to offer to fill to the top once foam was gone. Very disappointed in this establishment of business I ordered their combo B which I usually order every week. I had Never had a problem with my previous orders until now. When I call in and told the manager/owner about how my food looked & ask was this acceptable to even eat he couldn't answer had to ask the cook. The cook said yes it was safe to eat remind you guys I send in the same photos posted here to the manager/owner. The mgr/owner give me two options 1- give me 20% off next order (there will never be a next order) 2- bring back food uneaten for replacement (nooo I drove there from work (Folsom City) expecting good quality of fresh food remind I lives miles away gas is not cheap) plus I was tired they just really lost a good value customer he need to look my number up & see all the service I been around. Oh the crab that is circled was rubbery and most of the legs were missing very slimy with long white hard strings. He also was told that he said "that's how it be sometimes with bad one's coming in" I'm like wait what??? That was a big lost of my 50 dollars just hate put so must money into this place in over the past months and was treated the way I was treated poor service on your end it was nice doing business but I rather get fresh food & go where people actually value their customers plus care that food is eatable for customers. Just walked out because the service was that bad . There was no one in the restaurant yet I had to wait 30 minutes before not telling one but two serves that we didn't even get asked what we'd like to drink. Two families came in and got service before us and there was over 6 of them and only 3 of us . The kids working the front and hostess need to be fired because they were just in the front on social media talking like they weren't at work. Unprofessional, poor service and sadly I won't return due to the works but I know the owners are hard workers . Choose your employees wisely! Our manager got us some food from here one day while we were working and it was very good! We got it togo and all the fixings where there and no leaks or bad packaging. Got the combo b with the all in one sauce I think the spiciest they had and was very happy. Not a fan. Ordering online was great and easy, pickup was also a breeze. Staff seemed nice and the restaurant seemed cleaned, although there was nobody there. Everything tasted factory. Frozen and not fresh. Shrimp has this weird metallic tinny taste to it, I abandoned ship on the rest of them. Clam chowder was like pouring milk out of a carton, very watery, I was afraid I was going to slosh my chowder out of the cup. Mozzarella sticks, were well, mozzarella stick, nothing spectacular. I knew a stomach ache was coming but my fat ass still attempt to eat it . I was right it gave me a stomach ache after it wasn't just me my bf had a stomach ache too . My bf ordered held snow crab and half muscles 5/8 shells we closed and they still tried to give it to us to eat . One is fine but when most of it is dead. At least check before you serve . We ordered Cajun fries there was no Cajun seasoning . Then we ordered sausages they cut up into small pieces and serve it on the size . Normally they throw it in the bag with the seafood . Still pissed trying to figure out how my total jumped over $50. Klay is mumbling shit under his mask and when told something he wants to act as if he's talking about my check. Togo food was good. The only thing I hated was the shrimp. It was so over cooked it was like mush. Gross ! But everything else (crawfish , corn and potatoes) were so good!
