Looks like a family owned restaurant serving up freshly made Mediterranean/Middle Eastern. I visited a while back and got the Lamb & Beef Gyro Wrap. This thing was juicccyyy and nicely flavored overall. A good balance of meat to veggies and drenched in plenty of sauce. However, it was extremely greasy and wet, making the pita turn soggy. I also wished the food was a bit warmer, but it might just be me that likes my food to be piping hot. Average price, decent portion, and good overall. We ordered at the cashier and took a seat. There's not much actual service here aside from delivering your food to the table. A decently good option for anyone craving mediterranean nearby!

Food was sooo good, they make everything fresh. Hummus, baba ganoush, meat and sauces. What I got : Combo Donor : 5/5 Buffalo fries : 5/5 Hummus and Pita : 5/5 Came here on a late Friday night with a friend and come in to find that the owner is someone we used to go to high school with! I didn't really know him too well but doesn't matter. What matters is the food and service. The pita and the hummas were the main reason we decided to come in. The owner was giving out samples of hummus and pita and I was hooked. The pita were fried and so delicious. The combo donor was really good. I ate most of it and still had meat left over. The Buffalo fries are also a fan favorite here. I thought it was good, definitely a late night eat. Also had some leftover so will be eating that with my leftover meat! Saber is very attentive to his customers and to his food! He took over this restaurant from his uncle and perfected his marinated! They just install new lights! So fun. Overall, this place is pretty tasty and most things are made fresh and in house. Definitely a hole in the wall place. I would definitely comeback here!

Deeply Disappointing We used to love this restaurant, but our recent experience was very disappointing. On April 24, 2025, I ordered two Vegetarian Combo Platters and two baklavas for pickup, only to find both the baba ganoush and baklavas missing when I got home. After three days of emails and calls, the owner promised complimentary replacements once he restocks ingredients. It's now May 17, 2025 and he's yet to call. The lack of follow-through and communication is frustrating.

Holy wow, the food was incredible! I picked this place cause we were craving falafels & I was intrigued with all the good reviews I'd read..& boy did it live up to it. Right off the bat, Mr.K was fantastic & very friendly. He took our order & we sat down while he made the food fresh. The falafel platter was bursting with flavours from the chickpea salad, warm pita and delicious falafels. Very crispy and tasty, I loved them. We also ordered a portion of babaganoush & he did a 50-50 and threw in some of their deliciously creamy hummus too. Such a sweet thing to do :) The babaganoush was seriously the best thing I've had in a while. Insanely delicious stuff and the pita that's served with it was fried crispppp! It was SO GOOD that we went for another plate ;) The service was very warm & it was so cute to see the owner's kids came up to us excitedly to show off his superman toy! :D By the end of my meal, I left this place feeling super satiated and thinking about the next time I could come back.

Found this gem while we were trying to find a dinner spot on yelp. I am so glad we went there. Their babganoush (10/10), hummus with pita bread is so delicious. Garbanzo bean salad (Piyaz) was perfect. Flavor of kebabs was on point. They were marinated to perfection and so tender and juicy. It's a family owned restaurant, they made our dining experience very special and personable. We thoroughly enjoyed their food and will be back soon. Do not go anywhere if you are in mood to eat kebabs.

Stopped by Mr. Kebab around the afternoon time. I walked in and the worker recommended i get the chicken donee wrap. It took about 10 - 15 minutes as they grill the chicken on skewers to order. I asked them to make it spicy for me in which they did. The wrap, was served in a toasted tortilla / bread. The chicken was nice and flavor full. It was served with white sauce and red sauce. It gave it a nice creamy kick mixing the both together. The wrap was filled with a bit much veggies and could've used some more chicken imo. I wish the chicken was a bit more charred as well on the grill. Over all, i enjoyed it and recommend this place who ever is in the area. The menu has a great variety of different things offered from their culture. Yes they have halal meat here! Thx again! Pricing : $17 for the wrap only. Maybe on the pricier side. But we're in tough times, so it's all good.

Came to this restaurant at opening and there were a few open tables in the restaurant. You order first and pay after your meal. The TV is a bit loud and there's a bit of chatter in the restaurant. Food was delicious and I love how the chicken donner wrap is filling, flavorful, and refreshing with the fresh lettuce. The woman shop owner was really friendly and made the experience at Mr. Kebab. She was running around the kitchen and packed some hummus for us to-go. Great place to dine at and I thoroughly enjoyed the hummus.

Great service here. Got to meet the owner and chat a bit. It was nice seeing someone so hands on in their business. Mr recommendations for food are: The hummus, didn't taste processed and had a nice nutty flavor. The falafel: lots of flavorful herbs that give it the bright green color. It was pipping hot fresh out the fryer. The owner said the herbs are organic. Finish off your meal with the chocolate baklava! What a sweet treat.

It seems like the experience is always good here based on the reviews. As soon I entered, I was greeted and acknowledged by the person working there. He was super friendly and attentive. It's was hella refreshing and warm. I decided to order the chicken plate, but since I was waiting for my food he brought out a small appetizer for myself. That was hella nice and I was not expecting it. I really did appreciate it. Looking around, the place is well decorated and the seats had a cushion attached to them. Overall, the food hella smacks and it was flavorful. It satisfied the craving and was such a good experience. I would go again. The pricing is a little steeper than expected, but that's how life is now lol.

Me. Kebab is a wonderful, family owned business that has delicious food. Decided to come to Mr.Kebab on my lunch break and SO glad I did, it's been a long time since I had anything from here. The family who owns this spot is warm and welcoming. I ordered the Buffalo Fries with Lemon Beef and it is so delicious and full of flavor! It has spice from the Buffalo sauce, and the beef is nice and lemony but not too over powering. I also tried their humus and it is thee most delicious humus I've had. So much flavor. The only thing I regret about going here is not trying it sooner! Fresh hummus, falafel wrap and baba to try for a first time visit. All of it homemade food, large portions and ridiculously satisfying. I also may have stumbled across the greatest restaurant owners in Hayward. Saber and Tammy are both very warm, generous and up for chatting with their patrons. Nothing but good vibes at this place. The food at Mr. Kebab's is excellent! It had been awhile since my last visit. No good reason. I just had not returned post COVID. I dropped by last week and ordered a Chicken Doner Wrap and Hummus. I returned today for another Chicken Doner Wrap (the first one was so good) and Babaganoush. I was not disappointed. The food is fresh, delicious and the portions are generous. The owners were very friendly as I waited for my takeout order. The restaurant is well maintained so dining in is a great option. Mr. Kebab is located in the corner of a strip mall so it's easy to pass by. Trust me it's a worthwhile find. read more

I think they have new cooks or owners. I have been to this place for years whenever I stopped by Fremont. The rice was the best: moist and chewy and so flavorful. The meat was tender and the salad was plentiful. It was served by men. Just recently, we ate there and was surprised at the inflated price and terrible food. Meat was dry and rice was not fluffy and extremely dry and had no flavor . Proportions were not generous for the new expensive price. I am very disappointed and not coming back. read more

5 stars all the way! Service and food 6 stars ! Forgive me if I'm spelling the name improperly but Ahbeer gives top notch hospitality. He gave me some hummus homemade by his wife and fried pita as I waited for my to go order it was the best hummus I've ever had in my life. I ordered the chicken lamb and beef combo plate and exceeded my expectations.. can't wait to go back and explore the menu a little more, totally recommended for anybody! It's a tiny little place in Union City, but the flavor is excellent it was a little on the expense end for a tiny little Takeaway restaurant, but the food is worth every penny. read more

Bought some falafel for the first time. The cashier/owner was great. Warm smiles and welcoming service. The falafels were fried just right and lean to the saltier side, although still tasty by my standards. The hummus was more sour than I thought but still enjoyable once you get accustomed to it. A review from my husband: My wife and I stopped by Mr. Kebab today for the first time. We enjoy Mediterranean food and had no idea this place existed so close to home. We were warmly greeted by the owner and his wife who not only manage the establishment, but also work there. They took time to chat with us and tell us about their story after we placed our order, and they are some of the nicest people. Their passion, dedication, and heart in what they do is evident, and they provide excellent customer service. Not only that, but the food tastes delicious! I ordered the falafel platter and my wife got some kebab sticks. My platter was extremely flavorful and the kebabs were juicy! Although it was our first time here, it definitely won't be our last. Went on a hike before coming here and all I can say is that we were hungry today. We craved Mediterranean food and from the reviews we had to check this place out. NO PLATE DISAPPOINTED. We got the Chicken Doner Wrap, Lamb and Beef Doner Combo, Buffalo Garlic Fries, and the Hummus! The hummus was an outstanding appetizer to start with and knowing it was made from scratch made it all the better. The buffalo garlic fries were also a plate to share and had the right kick and flavor...and very addicting. Don't even get me started on how juicy and flavorful the chicken doner was. I'll be back for another round! The lamb and beef doner combo was moist and cooked so well paired deliciously with the rice, salad, and pita. You can tell they're serious about what they're cooking back there. The food was amazing but the staff added an experience that not a lot of restaurants have. This is a very unique experience, probably the most unique I've ever had at a restaurant. Sabr the one man show was absolutely phenomenal, his food, hospitality, and effort was unlike anything I've ever witnessed before. We ordered the buffalo fries, chicken shawarma, and beef shawarma each item better than the next. The atmosphere he created was one of someone inviting me into his home. Loved this place! We aren't from that area and just needed a place for a quick bite. And it far exceeded expectations. My FIL had never had a gyro before and he's not an adventurous eater by nature but he devoured this. My falafel were also good and the hummus is die for! It is refreshing to go into a restaurant and feel extremely welcomed. As soon as we came in, both of the owners greeted us with smiles and great conversation. They were so kind to provide us with samples of the hummus and the baba ghanoush while we waited for our order. The food was nothing short of amazing and it was packed with flavor. The lamb and beef were so tender and paired perfectly with the hummus. The restaurant was warm and felt like we were eating amongst family. Let me just start by saying the customer service here is amazing! I've been here in the past for take out but it had been a while. I had a little bit of time to spare before heading down to San Jose and walking by made me crave grape leaves and or falafel. I decided to pop my head in and see if I could do a side order. I was told they have both and I decided to do the grape leaves. Yum! The employee was so generous to add in a few falafel on the house. We talked while he fried the falafel fresh and then heated up the grape leaves. Super friendly environment for sure! I took the snack to go but could barely wait when I opened the box to start chowing down! The grape leaves were super moist, tender and not dry at all. The falafel were super fresh and fluffy, nice crispy interior with a super flavorful and very green inner. I'm definitely going to put this place (back) on my list for to go orders, especially since I'm over at Safeway enough that I won't be forgetting to pop back in! Honestly should have came to this place sooner! Been living in Union City all my life and never visited Mr Kebab. Had a hankering for Mediterranean food and finally decided to pop in. Place is clean, bright and welcoming. Its owned by a young man named Sabhir who does a great job. Super personable, polite, and most of all a great cook!! This was the best Gyro I've ever had! I'm so used to some other places (nickthegreekcoughhalalguys) being so overpriced and having dry meat from sitting out all day.. This one is fresh and juicy! My husband and I use to come here 10+ years old when the original owner was here. After he sold, it hasn't been the same...until now! Came this past Sunday and we were the first two people for lunch. The owner was super friendly and you can tell they love what they do. We ordered the Buffalo fries and lamb kebabs. It was delicious and the portions were huge! The owners gave us a free order of the hummus and it is the best hummus in the East Bay! We ended up ordering some to go because it was sooo good. Come support your local shop! This is a million times better than Nick the Greek and you won't regret it. Can't wait to come back and try more things. Mr. Kebab is back and better than before! I had been a fan of this place years back but not so much after the previous change of ownership. After checking out the new Suju's coffeeshop next door, I had a craving for a shawarma and wandered into Mr. Kebab. This turned out to be a great decision! Mr. Kebab is now run by the Saber and Tammy and their food is amazing! I have been back several times and have enjoyed their lamb/beef doner plate, baba ganoush, falafel plate, and of course the spectacular lamb/beef shawarma. Saber and Tammy are good people, pleasant, and accommodating. The restaurant is unpretentious and has an authentic "mom and pop" vibe. But the reason to go to Mr. Kebab is for the food and friendly service. I am so glad Mr. Kebab and back, and I highly recommend this place! Best. Shawarma. Ever. read more

Today was my first time visiting this place. It's in the corner of the Safeway shopping center. They have a big halal sign outside. It's a nice simple little diner type of ambiance with cute pillows on all their chairs. I had a steak gyro, salad, a flavored pelligreno and some chocolate baklava. These were all my first time eating these things in life too except for the pelligreno. I wanted to try Halal food bc I think it's a more humane way to be eating meat. That's why I went there. The woman that took my order was very kind, she acknowledged me when I entered, took my order right away and prepared it fresh. It was all sooooooooo good. The bread in the gyro was so soft and fluffy, the steak was juicy. The red chili sauce served with it was perfect, not too spicy. The salad was fresh also. It had a super delicious and flavorful dressing with garbanzo beans. It was yummy. Even my toddler enjoyed it. And the Chocolate baklava the sister there said it came from Turkey. My goodness I never had baklava like that before. The pistachios were roughly chopped. The baklava I've had before the pistachios have been minced. This place was really good. The staff was very nice and the flavor of the food is on point. I ordered the combination of rice with the beef and it came with a small amount of greens on the side. My only complaint was I wish that they put more meat on the dish. I feel that it was a little bit pricey for the amount of meat that I get I will go ahead and try it again next time and give it another chance maybe it was just an off day. read more

Food: We started with the lahmacun which is made up of a thin Turkish flatbread topped with ground beef, tomato, onion, pepper, and garlic. This lahmacun is one of the better versions I've had which made it extra tragic to learn it's a lunch-only situation. Why gatekeep happiness to daytime hours? For my entree, I ordered the Alinazik which was grilled tenderloin skewers over eggplant labneh. The beef was tender and the labneh was creamy, savory and a tad smoky. I saw that they offer a $44.95 prix fixe menu, which sounds great in theory, except for the small catch that everyone at the table has to commit. A bit of a "we ride together, we prix fixe together" situation which may not work depending on your dining companion(s) dietary restrictions. Atmosphere: The space is bright, airy, and stylish. The high ceilings resulted in lots of natural light, and a large bar that quietly suggests, "you could have a cocktail or two." One slightly odd note: The bathroom lighting is very dim. Like... "is this ambiance or did someone forget a switch?" kind of dim. Not a dealbreaker, just a curious contrast to the otherwise well-lit space. Overall: A solid pick for Turkish food in Palo Alto located off Emerson and a successful group lunch choice (I will be taking full credit). I'd happily come back to explore more of the menu. I'm already eyeing the Pirzola (bone-in lamb chops) or the Filet of Levrek (branzino) and maybe lobby for all-day lahmacun.

Unfortunately, his wife handled things tonight, and the service was absolutely horrible. We ordered a steak burrito, and let me tell you, the meat was completely inedible. It was just pure gristle in every single bite, to the point where we couldn't even chew it and only ate about a fourth of it. They also forgot to give us salsa with our chips. When we called to let them know about the meat, his wife started chopping up meat on her end, arguing with me, and insisting the food was perfectly fine and fresh. My wife, who is visibly 8 months pregnant, actually walked the burrito back into the restaurant just to show her the gristle. Because the lady said to bring it back show her. Instead of making it right or offering a simple switch for a chicken burrito like my wife had asked, she completely lacked empathy and flat-out said, "I can't remake your burrito." I called back to ask what could be done to fix this, and she started telling me to stop yelling at her. I wasn't yelling at all, my other baby was screaming in the background because my wife left the house to try and get the food fixed. She then hung up the phone on me. Apparently, she told my wife she even consulted her husband before refusing to fix it. It is so unfortunate that a business we supported weekly would treat regulars this way, but they have officially lost customers for life. The owner also said she was going to reply to me on here. I've passed by this place many times in the shopping center and decided to pay them a visit today for lunch. First I just have to say "I LOVE their FOOD". I love the atmosphere and friendly customer service. I ordered the Lamb and Chicken Kebab combo plate which comes with rice, salad and bread. Wow! The Chicken and Lamb were nicely seasoned and tender. Not dried out like at some other kebab places I've been. I loved the salad with their own signature salad dressing. And the bread is made their fresh - what a nice plus! I was so full from my combo plate but decided I had to order the Turkish Coffee and Baklava! YUMMY!!! The Baklava was so buttery sweet and flaky! The coffee very FRESH! I found out they are going to be open on Thanksgiving so I will definitely be ordering some food for my family who is coming up from So. Cal. I may not even cook a Turkey but just serve Mr Kebab! LOL! They said they could deliver the food for us so that's a HUGE PLUS! Thank you Mr. Kebab! I don't know how he did it but all the food was HOT upon arrival.....give them a BIG 5 stars just for that! My family was so happy to eat something else for Thanksgiving besides Turkey. Went back today for the second time between lunch and dinner with a few friends. Why did I wait so long to take my friends there? I don't eat out very often but when I do it's usually mediterranean/middle eastern that I search for and I guess that means Turkish too. As I said on my previous comment I have eaten at many of these types of restaurants in the area but none compare to Mr Kebab. The service was exceptionally different this time and place was a lot more vibrant. The people behind the counter actually tried to interact with the customers. I really don't remember having any interaction or eye contact with the staff last time. I absolutely LOVE good customer service so I give them 3 stars for that. Now on to the food....I like their meat because it is cooked very well- done and flavors are expertly blended. Last time I ordered the Chicken Doner Salad which I LOVED the well-done chicken and salad dressing. This time my friends and I ate their Lamb and Chicken Kebab plate recommended by the cashier. The plate is served with rice, salad, and home made bread (YUMMY). Topped that off with a nice ice cold soda, turkish coffee, baklava and homemade ice cream (To Die For!!!!). 7 Stars If I could give them 10 stars I would because the food was not greasy, meat was cooked to perfection, salad dressing is delicious, hummus was FRESH. One of my friends had the falafels, which I tried, and they are FRESH definitely NOT frozen. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone. Changed my mind: Owner is RACIST AGAINST MEXICANS. I brought my friend here to eat cuz I know the food here is good but while waiting for our food the owner came out and asked us if we had jobs. Then they asked us if we wanted to work in SJ with them at their outdoor food table thing. They they got weird and started saying that the Mexicans they work with often get mad at them because they are just THAT GOOD at their job. Then they said that "you Mexicans" need to calm down and not be so mad that he's so good. He also said that a Mexican guy threw a bottle at him and that us Mexicans have to control our issues. I wasn't having it and began to talk him down like the big fucking crybaby he is and we still took our food cuz I paid for that shit but I'm not coming here ever again. I got a video too. Es mucho para escribir otra vez pero el jefe aqui es RACISTA EN CONTRA DE LOS MEXICANOS. Vine a comer aqui Y el jefe empezo a decirme que los Mexicanos tienen problemas Y que no le debemos tartar mal por que el es TAN BIEN de cocinero. I intended to go to Starbucks on Decoto Road and ended up inside of Mr. Kebab (next door to starbucks) instead. Mostly because I finally got curious about this place. I thought it was pretty cool so I decided to take a peak. I was not hungry until I saw their menu....WOW the pictures were so colorful that I had to order the chicken kebab. First of all I liked how the meat was cooked - well done. Secondly the marinade is out of this world! There was a little bit of salad with an awesome homemade dressing. Rice very fluffy. Since I was originally headed out for coffee anyhow I decided to try their Turkish Coffee and Baklava after stuffing myself with a kebab. Wow! The Baklava was so buttery and sweet in combination with the Turkish coffee hit the spot, big time! I was so surprised to find that all the tables and bathrooms had hand sanitizer which made me feel as though they were trying hard to keep the place clean as well as care about the customers health. I was visiting a couple of friends who invited me to lunch at Mr Kebab. I actually live in San Francisco where there are a myriad of Middle Eastern Restaurants with Turkish Kebab menus. This place surprised me more than I expected. I had the chicken and lamb kebab plate for $8.99 which included rice, salad, and bread. The plate of kebabs was beautifully decorated with sumac and Mediterranean spices. It smelled scrumptious. The meat was so flavorful, and rice cooked perfectly. The hands that made this food definitely have experience. If you do not try this food - you will never know what you are missing. I had an amazing experience at Mr. Kebab in Union City! Food was better than pasha!! And so was the experience. As soon as I stepped in, the warm and energetic greeting made me feel right at home. While waiting for my food, the lady behind the counter kindly offered me some delicious hummus and a kabob to try. One of my buddies told me to go here for lunch one afternoon and first impression was that the staff was very friendly. Not sure if the younger guy behind the counter is the owner or maybe a relative? But he really went out of his way to answer my questions as this was my first time eating Med. type food. I went for the chicken, beef and lamb combo and liked it with the homemade yogurt sauce that they provided. What really impressed me was that knowing it was my first time there, he offered me free baklava sp? Extremely sweet stuff, but great for dessert I guess. I was passing by and noticed a sign with pictures of Gyros and Falafals. The sign showed how large the plate of Gyros was so I decided to order. The Gyros are made with Lamb or Beef, and topped with onions & parsley. The plate comes with rice, salad and cucumber sauce and of course the lovely bread. The people asked if I wanted it spicy. They must have read my mind because I LOVE Spicy! It's easy to find Gyros places all over town but not like this place. The Gyros are amazing. Stumbled upon this place on yelp thought we'd give it a try. Walking in you order from a board with pictures snd numbers. We orderd a lamb and chicken kabobs meal with a side salad both came with a rice and orzo ball. The lamb had good flavor the salad was a little greasy tasting but still good. We also ordered falafel with a side of hummus the falafel was as expected decent and the hummus was tasty if not a little to Lemmoney. All tasted fresh. The placce was a bit old in decor but clean. I just started yelping because of this place. Like someone said this is a hidden gem in fremont. I have a lot of friends in that area and been to all kinds of restaurants, I must say not many are good, but never heard of this place. Anyways one of my friends insisted we go there and I was not so sure. The food was fresh and clean. A very good menu with many selections. Everything was juicy and the salad was good. I walked to Mr Kebab to eat a Gyros. I ended up buying a Gyros Plate which comes with rice, salad, cucumber sauce, and warm pita bread plus the gyros have lamb & beef mixed together. Price was fare. In the bay area there are dozens of places to eat gyros. None of them compare to Mr Kebab. The gyros are absolutely scrumptious. I will be back again to try to the falafels and kebabs. I'm sure I wont' be disappointed. They should call their restaurant Gyro King instead of Mr. Kebab. read more
