Mr. Kebab, the local shop for kebabs, gyro, and wraps will have you humming for fresh hummus! This small mom and pop shop tucked into a relatively frequented mall just blocks away from city hall, schools, BART, and other public transportation, serves the local community with their deliciously seasoned and cooked meals packed with a variety of protein including lamb, beef, and chicken. The parking lot can be quite hectic due to the churn from the grocery store and other popular food and snack joints, but there are usually spots available for an impromptu visit. With electric car charging stations just on the far side of the mall, it may also be a nice place to swing by to feed your car as well as your belly. Although most of their business seems to come through takeout orders, they do have a few tables for indoor dining. The shop is pretty quiet except perhaps the occasional visit and greeting from one of the staff's kids whom are great hosts! The staff are welcoming and generous. We had also placed an online order via their website for takeout and when we had arrived, we were made aware of an omission in one of the item selections (meat option in the Buffalo garlic fries) but we had mentioned in the notes differently (asked for lamb and beef). Tammi, one of the staff members, had already prepared the food and it came out to be short a few dollars but waived the extra cost and even gave us a taste of their house made hummus. That is certainly giving the customer the pickle and encourages me to come back again! The Buffalo garlic fries were scrumptious and the meat was bountiful! The sauce didn't make it too spicy and the fries didn't get too soggy (in fact some were still relatively crispy). It's definitely a shareable dish with its abundance of fries and meat. The hot sauce does give a bit of a kick if you're looking to spice things up a bit. The whole thing came in a styrofoam box and was filled to the brim - great compact meal for the mobile customer although I would have preferred packaging that was more biodegradable. We ordered a variety of their wraps in addition to the Buffalo garlic fries. The kebab meat in the wraps were juicy and flavorful, although a bit tough to bite into and left gaping holes in the wrap after each one was eaten up. Lamb was my personal favorite. The doner chicken was phenomenal as it was succulent with all the sauces, plentiful with each bite, and tender with each chomp. The proportion of protein to the other ingredients (fresh vegetables) was pretty balanced and the wraps held up well. They were wrapped in foil and were great for on to go. The hummus had a good mix of fresh garbanzo beans and sauces. It was not as thick as other hummus I have tried but it went well in the wraps. The prices were higher than what I'm used to but for an occasional meal out, it's not too bad given that the portions are decent and the quality is good. Overall, Mr. Kebab specializes in its namesake and does a fantastic job roasting up their kebabs and rotisserie meats. The fresh vegetables served with every dish certainly balances the diet and adds more substance to each meal. Takeout orders are the way to go here as they're experienced with packaging the food up and are quick to fulfill them (within 20 minutes of online ordering). If you're looking for a hearty meal with some delicious meats while also getting a good mix of veggies, their wraps and combos will have you covered!

Looks like a family owned restaurant serving up freshly made Mediterranean/Middle Eastern. I visited a while back and got the Lamb & Beef Gyro Wrap. This thing was juicccyyy and nicely flavored overall. A good balance of meat to veggies and drenched in plenty of sauce. However, it was extremely greasy and wet, making the pita turn soggy. I also wished the food was a bit warmer, but it might just be me that likes my food to be piping hot. Average price, decent portion, and good overall. We ordered at the cashier and took a seat. There's not much actual service here aside from delivering your food to the table. A decently good option for anyone craving mediterranean nearby!

Food was sooo good, they make everything fresh. Hummus, baba ganoush, meat and sauces. What I got : Combo Donor : 5/5 Buffalo fries : 5/5 Hummus and Pita : 5/5 Came here on a late Friday night with a friend and come in to find that the owner is someone we used to go to high school with! I didn't really know him too well but doesn't matter. What matters is the food and service. The pita and the hummas were the main reason we decided to come in. The owner was giving out samples of hummus and pita and I was hooked. The pita were fried and so delicious. The combo donor was really good. I ate most of it and still had meat left over. The Buffalo fries are also a fan favorite here. I thought it was good, definitely a late night eat. Also had some leftover so will be eating that with my leftover meat! Saber is very attentive to his customers and to his food! He took over this restaurant from his uncle and perfected his marinated! They just install new lights! So fun. Overall, this place is pretty tasty and most things are made fresh and in house. Definitely a hole in the wall place. I would definitely comeback here!

Deeply Disappointing We used to love this restaurant, but our recent experience was very disappointing. On April 24, 2025, I ordered two Vegetarian Combo Platters and two baklavas for pickup, only to find both the baba ganoush and baklavas missing when I got home. After three days of emails and calls, the owner promised complimentary replacements once he restocks ingredients. It's now May 17, 2025 and he's yet to call. The lack of follow-through and communication is frustrating.

Holy wow, the food was incredible! I picked this place cause we were craving falafels & I was intrigued with all the good reviews I'd read..& boy did it live up to it. Right off the bat, Mr.K was fantastic & very friendly. He took our order & we sat down while he made the food fresh. The falafel platter was bursting with flavours from the chickpea salad, warm pita and delicious falafels. Very crispy and tasty, I loved them. We also ordered a portion of babaganoush & he did a 50-50 and threw in some of their deliciously creamy hummus too. Such a sweet thing to do :) The babaganoush was seriously the best thing I've had in a while. Insanely delicious stuff and the pita that's served with it was fried crispppp! It was SO GOOD that we went for another plate ;) The service was very warm & it was so cute to see the owner's kids came up to us excitedly to show off his superman toy! :D By the end of my meal, I left this place feeling super satiated and thinking about the next time I could come back.

Stopped by Mr. Kebab around the afternoon time. I walked in and the worker recommended i get the chicken donee wrap. It took about 10 - 15 minutes as they grill the chicken on skewers to order. I asked them to make it spicy for me in which they did. The wrap, was served in a toasted tortilla / bread. The chicken was nice and flavor full. It was served with white sauce and red sauce. It gave it a nice creamy kick mixing the both together. The wrap was filled with a bit much veggies and could've used some more chicken imo. I wish the chicken was a bit more charred as well on the grill. Over all, i enjoyed it and recommend this place who ever is in the area. The menu has a great variety of different things offered from their culture. Yes they have halal meat here! Thx again! Pricing : $17 for the wrap only. Maybe on the pricier side. But we're in tough times, so it's all good.

Great service here. Got to meet the owner and chat a bit. It was nice seeing someone so hands on in their business. Mr recommendations for food are: The hummus, didn't taste processed and had a nice nutty flavor. The falafel: lots of flavorful herbs that give it the bright green color. It was pipping hot fresh out the fryer. The owner said the herbs are organic. Finish off your meal with the chocolate baklava! What a sweet treat.

Found this gem while we were trying to find a dinner spot on yelp. I am so glad we went there. Their babganoush (10/10), hummus with pita bread is so delicious. Garbanzo bean salad (Piyaz) was perfect. Flavor of kebabs was on point. They were marinated to perfection and so tender and juicy. It's a family owned restaurant, they made our dining experience very special and personable. We thoroughly enjoyed their food and will be back soon. Do not go anywhere if you are in mood to eat kebabs.

Came to this restaurant at opening and there were a few open tables in the restaurant. You order first and pay after your meal. The TV is a bit loud and there's a bit of chatter in the restaurant. Food was delicious and I love how the chicken donner wrap is filling, flavorful, and refreshing with the fresh lettuce. The woman shop owner was really friendly and made the experience at Mr. Kebab. She was running around the kitchen and packed some hummus for us to-go. Great place to dine at and I thoroughly enjoyed the hummus.

It seems like the experience is always good here based on the reviews. As soon I entered, I was greeted and acknowledged by the person working there. He was super friendly and attentive. It's was hella refreshing and warm. I decided to order the chicken plate, but since I was waiting for my food he brought out a small appetizer for myself. That was hella nice and I was not expecting it. I really did appreciate it. Looking around, the place is well decorated and the seats had a cushion attached to them. Overall, the food hella smacks and it was flavorful. It satisfied the craving and was such a good experience. I would go again. The pricing is a little steeper than expected, but that's how life is now lol.

This place is FIRE! The people are HELLA nice here... super accommodating and chill, down to earth. The food is *chefs kiss* .. the kebabs-- any of them.. chicken, beef, lamb... they all came out perfectly cooked. I always order the platter with extra kebabs! It comes with hella good rice (and I don't usually like rice), and chickpea salad. The hummus plate is delicious too. It comes topped with some chickpea salsa/salad and comes with fries pita chips! Sooooo good. I also LOVE the falafels. I usually only like falafels at Oren's but this place is JUST as good, if not better. They are tough to beat! 100% recommend this place. Plenty of seating for all your friends and family.

Service was 10/10, we walked in and were immediately greeted with a smile and a friendly welcome by Tammy. She offered to help while we ordered on the tablet and answered all my questions. Her great attitude was a breath of fresh air. I was the only one ordering from my family but she still offered all of us water and even did complementary hummus to start my dinner.I recently went to Israel and I was missing the food, this hummus HIT THE SPOT! It was fresh and very well seasoned. She brought it to the table while I waited for my Togo order and we all devoured it. My husband, the picky eater, could not have enough. My meal was not as the Israeli food I was craving but definitely still delicious. It will hold me over for now but this is a new favorite at our home. The restaurant was homey and clean! The only reason this is not a perfect review was the price. For one plate and tip we paid $24, though worth it in service it was not a ton of food to justify spending that much one plate. First time here in quite a while. Tucked back in the corner, it's quite a narrow establishment, so you might miss it. I've read lots of reviews saying the food is over-priced and not fresh but that is absolutely not my experience. First, understand that all meats here are halal. That means a few things. First, the animals must be allowed to graze freely which is not the case with most market animals. So automatically these animals are at a higher welfare standard than most. Second, the animal must be slaughtered by hand with the least amount of suffeing possible and processed in a way that makes the meat healthier, as the animal is less stressed. So while I know that people will pay a premium to buy meats that are welfare-certified and humane-certified, they are upset that the products made from these higher-premium meats are...duh...a little more expensive. By my count, it's about $2/plate more expensive. I'm willing to pay that to know the animal I ate was raised and killed in a way that honored its life. If you're not, that's fine, but understand that the "upcharge" is part of the cost of the commodities. I paid $15 for a doner wrap, and in non-halal places I pay $13 for a comparable wrap. I also paid $23 for a double-meat doner plate with rice, falafel, pita, and salad. It's enough for at least 2 meals so I'm ok with that too. At this point, the meal for 3 works out to about $40. About $13/person. I do feel I overpaid for the fries at $9. They were not quite as fresh as I would have liked, and really nothing special to warrant the price. Next time I'll probably skip them. Second, all the produce I received was FRESH and CRISP and SWEET. The lettuce was immaculate and the carrots were juicy and crisp. The onions were not overpowering and the cabbage was not bitter or old-tasting. So, while I won't take away a bad experience from anyone who had one, my experience was NOT bad when it came to the produce. Third, the hummus and babaghanoush were excellent and quite authentic. I was served a little snack plate while I waited for the food to be cooked to order. The owner was gracious and friendly as was his family who were there helping. He made special accomodations to my order based on my preference and wanted to be clear about certain ingredients before finishing the order, which I appreciate. I ordered a chicken doner wrap, and the doner rotisserie was not lit. But the meat was cooked right in front of me and was just as fresh and perfectly crisp and juicy as if it had been cut from the spit. So while it wasn't want I was expecting to see in terms of prepration, I didn't really care how it was cooked. It tasted good. People complain about the food being oily. My food was not oily. There was a lovely drizzle of colorful olive oil across my hummus that was absolutely perfect, and the small amount of oil on the meat was presumably from cooking it on a flat top instead of shaving it off a rotisserie, and it was not excessive. Someone complained about the falafel being burned. Mine was not. The falafel is hand-made and super crispy, but moist and tender on the inside. When you split it open, it steams, meaning the oil was hot enough to create a crispy seal on the outside BUT cook the inside while keeping the juice in, and not drying it out. Delicious. The shop is clean and bright, colorful and welcoming. The decor is very reminiscent of someone's living room smashed with a kebab shop; it's clear the owner and his family put their hearts into this business. For example seats are standard fast food style chairs but they're topped with lovely patterned cushions in an obvious attempt to make them more homey. So. Is it the cheapest? No, but I only regret the purchase of the fries, I think everything else was fairly valued for the flavor, quantity, and quality of the food. I enjoyed myself thoroughly in every aspect of the dining experience. read more

My husband and I use to come here 10+ years old when the original owner was here. After he sold, it hasn't been the same...until now! Came this past Sunday and we were the first two people for lunch. The owner was super friendly and you can tell they love what they do. We ordered the Buffalo fries and lamb kebabs. It was delicious and the portions were huge! The owners gave us a free order of the hummus and it is the best hummus in the East Bay! We ended up ordering some to go because it was sooo good. Come support your local shop! This is a million times better than Nick the Greek and you won't regret it. Can't wait to come back and try more things. This place was really good. The staff was very nice and the flavor of the food is on point. I ordered the combination of rice with the beef and it came with a small amount of greens on the side. My only complaint was I wish that they put more meat on the dish. Husband and I came by here for lunch on a weekday. We had our dog with us so husband went in to order for takeout. While we were standing outside with our dog waiting for our food, the owners came out and gave us some pita and hummus to snack. Hummus was delicious! The owners are super nice and so caring. They even bought out a table and chairs placed it outside for us which was great because we had our dog. Instead of taking our food home we decided to take the outdoor seating and ate lunch there. Husband had the chicken kabob plate and he really enjoyed it. I had the chicken donnor wrap which was a huge portion and tasty. I went to this restaurant around 11:40 ish this morning. When I googled the store, it stated that it was open. The signs outside were on and the open sign was on. The lights inside were on, but the door was locked. I tried knocking the door and called multiple times and no one answered. I then proceeded to order online. Since it stated on the order that it would take 30 min for the food to be ready, I walked to the neighboring stores to browse. I received an email stating that my order was cancelled, because they are no longer taking orders. I was really upset because I ordered online and they cancelled the order half of the time it stated it would take for the food to be ready. Had I known that they were going to do that, I would've bought food elsewhere. I'm upset because if they were closed, why would the open lights be on? Why are the lights on outside the store and inside the store? Were they closed? Were they running late? Did they have an emergency? It would've been nice if they were running late to let the customer know instead of cancelling the order. I would've gladly waited had I known. If only they had someone answer the phone or something. read more

Pretty lame food for the price. And it was really disgusting to see tables that were not cleaned with loads of half eaten food and used napkins and other garbage. Overall the falafel wasn't great. The shawarma wasn't good and it just seemed very pricey for the quality of food and especially the dining experience. read more

The quality of the food, the amount of time and effort in preparing the meal which is by the way cook to order! That's how you know it fresh we saw them cooking our food so it's visible for us consumers/customers to visually see! Most importantly not only is the food exceptionally delicious the service is top notch. We were told how and where the ingredients come from (Turkey for our Baklava dessert) our meal is flavorful and everything's the sauces brings out the authenticity! Everything I've tried at this restaurant is amazing! The service is great and when I want to do take out, it's always done in a timely manner and still tastes just as good if you were to eat there. We usually get the chicken kebab plate and most recently I've tried their hummus. Oh my goodness! was it delicious, they now have pita strips that they serve with it and it looks fancy and taste even better. Whenever I am in town, I always stop by here to pick up a plate. Food is always fresh and delicious. Everything I've had there is as good or better than any place in the area that serves halal food. Service is always good. The people that run the place are friendly and hospitable. It's also a very family-centered business, meaning it's owned and operated by a family, and there are occasionally little kids around. These are very good people, who run a restaurant that reflects their goodness. I've eaten there many times and will continue to do so in the future. Location is okay, but it's kind of tucked away inside the strip mall, but parking isn't too bad. Price is reasonable for what you get, but not cheap. Dining in is better than taking to-go, because the place has a good vibe. read more

***MUST TRY 10/10*** ***1000% RECOMMENDED ***This place has been through so many hands, but as of right now, September 15th 2023 And it has found its rightful owner. The food is absolutely spectacular. I always get the chicken donor plate and which it is riddled with spice and taste so delicious. I came in this evening to get my regular. The owner is constantly asking me for a yelp review... so here is my honest review Been coming here since they first opened when I was a child (over 10 years ago) . Food has been consistently good, aside from a few years where the ownership was changed (probably around 2017-2019) it's under new ownership again and the food is good again, but that is not my complaint... I've seen the prices rise DRASTICALLY while the portion sizes have gone down at this place over the last 3 years. $18 for a gyro? Cmon. $25 for a chicken and rice plate? Outrageous. I understand "inflation" is a concern, but that is no excuse to split your portion sizes in half and double your prices. If inflation is a concern, do one or the other : either drop your portion sizes, or increase prices, not both. Especially if your price increase is DOUBLING what it used to be. Gyros used to be $9 not so long ago, and the chicken plate used to be $12... no excuse for them to be that high now other than pure greed. Even with inflation, a reasonable price for a gyro should be around $11-12 now and for a chicken plate maybe $14-15... I saw the owner/manager advertising with flyers outside of Safeway, and someone told him "the prices are too high". His response was a very arrogant "If the food is good, you pay for it". I'm sorry, but that came off as very sleazy to me. No matter how good the food is, $25 for a plate is not acceptable at a fast/casual restaurant. If you want to charge that much, please set up a fine dining establishment with waiters and waitresses and such. The food is good (not GREAT) but just not worth these prices anymore. read more

The appetizers were great - the mantu had a great flavor and felt very hearty. The leek and butternut squash felt homey and warm - our waitress said they were her favorite, and were so glad she gave us that recommendation! The leek paired nicely with the yogurt provided, as it was a little spicy and had an aroma pretty similar to chives. The squash bolani was slightly sweet, and almost felt like an in-between for dessert. Having both was a nice contrast. By far the murgh (chicken) kabob was our favorite skewer, as it was the juiciest meat, and quite tender. The table ranked the chaplee (ground meat, with a hint of spice) next in terms of flavor and texture, and teka (tri tip) was slightly more dry and bland compared to everything else. The lamb shank was quite tender but smaller than expected for the price; it still had a nice homey flavor though I prefer when restaurants provide more of that braised juice to go alongside the dish. I don't eat cilantro, so had requested there to be no cilantro in any dishes, but they said they couldn't remove it from the salad, so was a little sad about that. We also had to request for Overall, would highly recommend the chicken kabob and bolani - would love to come and try other appetizers too.

On a casual lunch I was impressed by the diversity in the place, as it is downtown Hayward. Young, old and cultural garb from several cultures spotted. Service at the register was friendly, dude gave off ownership vibes. Falafel Wrap ($11/4*) Very fresh and satsifying wrap. Big, soft and puffy pita bread is filled to the brim with fresh salad-like veggies. Chopped lettuce, tomato, onions and a couple of pickled items. Stuffed also with a decent amount of fat disk of falafel and a good dousing of tahini sauce. I loved the bites for the most part as I was full without feeling weighed down for the lunch hours. The falafels had good flavor but just didn't seem as crisp as I usually prefer, didn't seem fresh out of the fryer, which the places that are known for this definitely do. I especially liked the bites more when a pickled veggie entered the bite, so I should have ordered extra...next time. Beef Kabobs ($25/4*) Got this for take-out and it was still good hours later after a reheat. Beef is in small cubes and cooked pretty well done. A bit dry but at least it was flavorful. Definitely taste more Afghan in spicing/marinade, pretty bold with lots of garlic and herbs. De Afghanan out here in the east bay is the gold standard for these types of kabobs and those are cut into bigger chunks and are juicier by a lot. Kabob plates comes with a good amount of seasoned basmati rice, a pita bread, a small green salad and a small scoop of hummus. Even tho $25 seems a bit pricey, there is enough food to justify the price. I was able to make 1.5 meals out of it with a good dinner and a small work lunch. I actually want to try a pizza here and definitely a lamb kabob. I hang out in this downtown area often, so great having another casual option in my back pocket. Yeah Buddy!!

I've passed by this place many times in the shopping center and decided to pay them a visit today for lunch. First I just have to say "I LOVE their FOOD". I love the atmosphere and friendly customer service. I ordered the Lamb and Chicken Kebab combo plate which comes with rice, salad and bread. Wow! The Chicken and Lamb were nicely seasoned and tender. Not dried out like at some other kebab places I've been. I loved the salad with their own signature salad dressing. And the bread is made their fresh - what a nice plus! I was so full from my combo plate but decided I had to order the Turkish Coffee and Baklava! YUMMY!!! The Baklava was so buttery sweet and flaky! The coffee very FRESH! I found out they are going to be open on Thanksgiving so I will definitely be ordering some food for my family who is coming up from So. Cal. Went back today for the second time between lunch and dinner with a few friends. Why did I wait so long to take my friends there? I don't eat out very often but when I do it's usually mediterranean/middle eastern that I search for and I guess that means Turkish too. As I said on my previous comment I have eaten at many of these types of restaurants in the area but none compare to Mr Kebab. The service was exceptionally different this time and place was a lot more vibrant. The people behind the counter actually tried to interact with the customers. I really don't remember having any interaction or eye contact with the staff last time. I absolutely LOVE good customer service so I give them 3 stars for that. Now on to the food....I like their meat because it is cooked very well- done and flavors are expertly blended. Last time I ordered the Chicken Doner Salad which I LOVED the well-done chicken and salad dressing. This time my friends and I ate their Lamb and Chicken Kebab plate recommended by the cashier. The plate is served with rice, salad, and home made bread (YUMMY). Topped that off with a nice ice cold soda, turkish coffee, baklava and homemade ice cream (To Die For!!!!). 7 Stars If I could give them 10 stars I would because the food was not greasy, meat was cooked to perfection, salad dressing is delicious, hummus was FRESH. Changed my mind: Owner is RACIST AGAINST MEXICANS. I brought my friend here to eat cuz I know the food here is good but while waiting for our food the owner came out and asked us if we had jobs. Then they asked us if we wanted to work in SJ with them at their outdoor food table thing. They they got weird and started saying that the Mexicans they work with often get mad at them because they are just THAT GOOD at their job. Then they said that "you Mexicans" need to calm down and not be so mad that he's so good. He also said that a Mexican guy threw a bottle at him and that us Mexicans have to control our issues. I wasn't having it and began to talk him down like the big fucking crybaby he is and we still took our food cuz I paid for that shit but I'm not coming here ever again. I got a video too. I intended to go to Starbucks on Decoto Road and ended up inside of Mr. Kebab (next door to starbucks) instead. Mostly because I finally got curious about this place. I thought it was pretty cool so I decided to take a peak. I was not hungry until I saw their menu....WOW the pictures were so colorful that I had to order the chicken kebab. First of all I liked how the meat was cooked - well done. Secondly the marinade is out of this world! There was a little bit of salad with an awesome homemade dressing. Rice very fluffy. Since I was originally headed out for coffee anyhow I decided to try their Turkish Coffee and Baklava after stuffing myself with a kebab. Wow! The Baklava was so buttery and sweet in combination with the Turkish coffee hit the spot, big time! I was so surprised to find that all the tables and bathrooms had hand sanitizer which made me feel as though they were trying hard to keep the place clean as well as care about the customers health. I was visiting a couple of friends who invited me to lunch at Mr Kebab. I actually live in San Francisco where there are a myriad of Middle Eastern Restaurants with Turkish Kebab menus. This place surprised me more than I expected. I had the chicken and lamb kebab plate for $8.99 which included rice, salad, and bread. The plate of kebabs was beautifully decorated with sumac and Mediterranean spices. It smelled scrumptious. The meat was so flavorful, and rice cooked perfectly. The hands that made this food definitely have experience. If you do not try this food - you will never know what you are missing. One of my buddies told me to go here for lunch one afternoon and first impression was that the staff was very friendly. Not sure if the younger guy behind the counter is the owner or maybe a relative? But he really went out of his way to answer my questions as this was my first time eating Med. type food. I was passing by and noticed a sign with pictures of Gyros and Falafals. The sign showed how large the plate of Gyros was so I decided to order. The Gyros are made with Lamb or Beef, and topped with onions & parsley. The plate comes with rice, salad and cucumber sauce and of course the lovely bread. The people asked if I wanted it spicy. They must have read my mind because I LOVE Spicy! It's easy to find Gyros places all over town but not like this place. The Gyros are amazing. Stumbled upon this place on yelp thought we'd give it a try. Walking in you order from a board with pictures snd numbers. We orderd a lamb and chicken kabobs meal with a side salad both came with a rice and orzo ball. The lamb had good flavor the salad was a little greasy tasting but still good. We also ordered falafel with a side of hummus the falafel was as expected decent and the hummus was tasty if not a little to Lemmoney. All tasted fresh. The placce was a bit old in decor but clean. I just started yelping because of this place. Like someone said this is a hidden gem in fremont. I have a lot of friends in that area and been to all kinds of restaurants, I must say not many are good, but never heard of this place. I walked to Mr Kebab to eat a Gyros. I ended up buying a Gyros Plate which comes with rice, salad, cucumber sauce, and warm pita bread plus the gyros have lamb & beef mixed together. Price was fare. In the bay area there are dozens of places to eat gyros. None of them compare to Mr Kebab. The gyros are absolutely scrumptious. I will be back again to try to the falafels and kebabs. I'm sure I wont' be disappointed. They should call their restaurant Gyro King instead of Mr. Kebab. read more

I brought it back to the counter and explained that I couldn't eat it because it had been contaminated. The employee then told me that I never said not to put bread on my food. That was frustrating because the very first thing I said when I walked in was that I could not have bread, gluten, or wheat. Instead of remaking my meal properly, he grabbed the bread off my food with his bare hands and told me, "You can eat it." I explained that once the bread touched my food, it was cross-contaminated and could make me very sick. He then said he would make me a new one, but he simply took my original container to the back and brought back what appeared to be the same food with the bread removed. I asked for a refund multiple times because I no longer felt safe eating the food, but they refused. In the end, I threw the food away because I didn't trust that it had been remade or handled safely. The lack of understanding about food allergies and cross-contamination was very concerning. People with celiac disease or serious gluten allergies rely on restaurants to take food allergies seriously. Based on my experience, I would not feel comfortable eating here again.

Every Kabob was seasoned and grilled to perfection. The rice tasted fresh and the meal came with falafels and hummus/pita. Each item was authentic and flavorful. The service was also quick and friendly. They were very hospitable as would be expected from Afghans. The restaurant was modern and clean, they had jazz music playing so you felt cozy and welcome. Will definitely be coming back!
