disappointing! this restaurant sent out a mailer for $10.00 off any large pizza, with the stipulation that you had to come in to order it. I called to order ahead.....but the only way to order online was to use a delivery service ..... meaning, of course, I couldn't use the coupon that stipulated "no delivery service with coupon." So I drove over there to order and pick up; however when the guy took my order for a large pizza (per requirement on mailer) he charged me $32.00, which would not be a problem....BUT the menu above the counter listed a large pizza at $24.00! When I asked why it was listed for $24.00on their menu board but he rang up $32.00, he said he didn't know why. So looks like the coupon on mailer listing $10.00 off any large pizza was actually only $2.00 off their listed price. needless to say, we won't be going back to Mr. Moto! felt like a "bait and switch." I'm impressed with the options that they offer, they have pizza, wings, salad, pasta, knots, and more. We got to try 8 different slices and love that they were mix and match. The pizza was really good and the slices were huge. We ended up having 3 slices leftover, they were still so delicious the next day. A $10 off coupon prompted my first visit here tonight. I ordered a large mushroom, the "Shroomster," for take out. Nate behind the counter was helpful and courteous. Said it would be ready in 15 minutes and it was. I opened the box at home and, Wow, what a gorgeous pizza! It tasted just as good as it looked. My only criticism would be that it was slightly underdone for my taste, but I like a bit of brown on the crust & cheese. I popped a piece into a hot toaster oven for a few minutes and it was PERFECT! I want to like this place I really do. I have ordered a few times and the pizza is actually pretty good. The issue is the service is terrible. I think they aren't hiring enough people. The last time I went to pick up and order after the stated ready time. I showed up to a very long line and no one at the register. After about 10 minutes a woman comes up to drop off a to go order. I finally get to ask about my order, and they hadn't even started it. That an hour of waiting plus wait time at the location and food hasn't started to be made. This new spot is pretty quick and their specialty pizzas by the slice are very yummy, have a great crispy crust that holds its structure and good flavor. Not a big fan of the style where they don't evenly distribute the toppings and just put a glad in the middle of the slice, but all the ingredients are still quality so the uneven bites don lack flavor. I actually just went to their Orange location a couple weeks ago, and today I was driving through Newport, saw the sign outside and noticed they were doing a grand opening week... two slices and a drink for five bucks. so I pulled in immediately. Ha The place looks great. Bright, clean, open counter with the pizza right up front so you can see everything. Feels like a quick neighborhood slice shop you can swing into anytime. I grabbed the Mr. Moto slice again because I already knew I liked it. This one's got sausage, marinara, melted mozzarella and a scoop of ricotta on top. Thin crust with a crisp bottom but still soft inside. The sausage has a lot of flavor and the ricotta smooths everything out so it's not heavy. Just a really balanced slice and easy to eat. Then I tried the Mamma Moto with cherry tomato, burrata, truffle oil and parsley. Totally different vibe. Lighter and creamy from the burrata, and every bite gets a little pop from the tomato. The truffle is there but not overpowering which I liked. Honestly both slices were great and for five bucks with a drink it almost felt like stealing. The mushroom pizza was a bit rich (not in a good way) for me. The Hulk was good too. Love the thin crusts. The Hulk, which is basically a meat lovers slice, was packed with flavor and very satisfying. I also had the pizza of the month, a white mushroom slice, and that one really stood out. First time coming was great. Decided to try again this afternoon and even though the pizza was great we will not be back. We saw an ad about getting a discount if you download the app. Once you download there is no way to receive the discount. Secondly, the UI on the app is extremely poor. Does not allow Apple Pay and cannot auto-populate you CC info. Lastly, order says pizza will be ready at 6:52 (25 min after ordering). We show up at 6:50 and turns out they haven't even started the pizza. The staff do not apologise for the inconvenience and say it will be ready in 15 minutes. Decent food but poor customer service overall. We'll stick to our regular 17th pizza spots from now on. read more
