This is what the new Mr. Pollo is serving for yuca.

Unfortunately Mr. Pollo is under new management and the quality of the food is not the same. I stopped in to pick up some yuca along with rice and beans to go. Sadly, the yuca was the worst I've ever been served and I've been to MANY Peruvian restaurants throughout Northern Virginia. Another thing I noticed for the first time was they weren't cooking rotisserie chickens and there were no customers in the restaurant. However, they did increase the size of their buffet style ready to serve lunch/dinner meals. That's where the beans and rice that I ordered came from which was very dry and bland. Lastly, it appears that they're cutting back on the jalapeño sauce and the white sauce as the containers were only half full. The remodeled restaurant has a nice feel to it, and the service was friendly and polite. But unfortunately the quality of food has gone downhill and $18 for a rotisserie chicken is pretty expensive. I've attached Mr. Pollo yuca Now vs. what it Used to be. Hope this will improve their quality of food.

good place to get Peruvian chicken! I've always worked near this place, so I always come here. food is consistent & chicken is always juicy. my only complaint is sometimes they under cook the plantains.

I enjoyed our dinner tonight as we tried something other than our typical Peruvian quarter chicken platter... the chicken is always well cooked and perfect spices! The spicy green sauce is good and the yellow sauce is just ok. My only tip would be to ask for the yuca extra crispy... it comes out nice and crispy and hot! Dry and soggy yucas are deal breakers for me at Peruvian joints... I did try the carne asada and I would say it is very flavorful! I know a place down the street that is amazing... but not bad. It makes me want to try the tacos next and maybe go on from there! I'll update as I make my way through the menu! If you live out in the South Riding - Aldie area... the. It's worth making a small trip out to check out this family owned place!

+They provide small tubs for sauces. The spicy green chimichurri was pretty good. The white sauce was also pretty good with the chicken and yucca. +$16.99 for whole chicken and two sides. +The chicken was not overcooked or dry. -The spices/seasoning was a bit overpowering and caked on the chicken. -The yucca wasn't crisp and it seemed like it was just left out to dry.

I been coming here since they opened and never had the chance to put a review. The chicken here is amazing and halal. A little while after opening they started carrying all halal items. First of all I love Peruvian style pollo and now since it is halal it's perfect for me. They also have fajitas, steak and now beef ribs and all halal. It's a must have delicious South American food, once you try you will be hooked.

The chicken was great! It had a good balance of flavor and char. My only gripe was the yucca. Maybe I received a bad batch, but I didn't like how they were cooked. I couldn't tell if they were overcooked or under-cooked, but something was off. I felt pretty crappy for wasting those carbs without a return in taste. The yucca gave me a 3 star experience, but I'll give an extra star since the young man that took my order seemed pretty stoked that my name was Gregory like the guy from "House". Go figure. This place could be 5 stars if you order the right sides.

Great testy chicken, The best I like to purchase a whole chicken with a couple of side dishes and bring it home for dinner. Never disappointed here

We have found some of the tastiest quesadillas here at Mr. Pollo. The menu has a wide variety of items to choose from. There are a few places to sit inside but we ordered to go. We waited about 10 minutes for our food but it's well worth the wait. We will come back again.

I will have to start with the food flavor is delicious if you live in the area I definitely suggest coming down here and trying this tasty food. There are a lot of healthy options but be careful because there are a lot of tasty and healthy options the portions are also very huge so you can order and have some to take home

Carne asada (halal) plus mash potatoes is very solid. Chicken very solid too. This place is a winner!

Good food, great portions, all HALAL. Seating area is pretty generic but food makes up for it. Reasonably priced.

For a full experience, we sampled several dishes & our table became a Peruvian fiesta fit for Kings & Queens! We had: a delicious, sweet red wine; apps-Papa Relleña, Causa de Pollo, Anticucho, Leche de Tigre, entree- Lomo Saltado, dessert- Torta Manjar Blanco and coffee. Everything was sooo tasty and wow, the presentation of the food had me saying, "oooh" and "ahhh" every time the server brought something to the table. The Causo de Pollo was probably the most beautifully presented dish...for a moment, I thought someone mixed up our app order with dessert, but actually, no, apparently, their chef is an artist in that kitchen!! The Leche de Tigre was another eye-catching dish- huge serving and stacked up high on the platter & the ceviche was perfectly cooked, seasoned and crisp. Every dish and sauce was an experience all its own and so yummy. If someone had tried to tell me before today that I'd enjoy beef heart, I'd think they were nuts, but the Anticucho was so good!! I highly recommend making this your next stop for indulging your foodie palate with the tastiness of Peru right here at home. No jetlag or long lines with the TSA necessary!

The quarter chicken is a lot bigger than expected- and the yuca is fried perfectly with a golden crisp. Beef tongue was flavored well but understandably tough and the fried chicharron has a crispy outside but was expecting it to be crispy throughout. The ceviche is really good, can never go wrong with ceviche, especially if you're going tapas style. The ají de gallina, lomo saltado and lamb are so freaking good, the meat is tender, the sauces are perfection, and when you mix the rice to with the sauce it's absolutely delicious. Heard about this place a while, finally tried it out a couple times now, already can't wait to go back!

You can definitely taste some Cantonese influences. Corazón: Very unique. The beef heart was grilled very tender, and the spicy and tangy dipping sauce was refreshing. I've also never had such large kernels of sticky corn before. Lomo Saltado: Similar to Cantonese black pepper and beef cubes stir-fry, but noticeably coarser. The meat was a bit tough and dry, the sauce didn't coat it well, and it wasn't very flavorful. Chaufa Mixto: Chaufa = chaofan 炒飯 (fried rice in Chinese) A very straightforward transliteration. Similar to Chinese fried rice, it had plenty of wok hei 鑊氣 (wok aroma), which is rare in the US. The beef and chicken were quite tender; however, the shrimp wasn't fully cooked, and you could clearly taste the raw texture inside. Vegetales Salteados: Seasoned exactly like Lomo Saltados, it's even stranger to use it for stir-frying vegetables... It was entirely for the vegetables' benefit; otherwise, it was completely unnecessary. Suspiro: Dulce de leche custard, meringue, and passion fruit glaze, sprinkled with cinnamon powder--it was far too sweet.
