Ordered online the Italian cold cut, veggie with sprouts and turkey club to go. Sandwiches were ready on time, a good size and were fresh and delicious. We took our sandwiches to the park for some fresh air and sunshine and this was the perfect meal. The Italian cold cut was my favorite!! Will def be back!! read more

Decent Prices. Good sandwiches. Nice people. There's not much more to ask for, when it comes to Lunch. While eating my special, you could tell there were many regulars, as they came in, and the people already knew what he wanted to order. That has to tell you something about their rapport! I'd say the only mark is that my Chicken Salad Sandwich needed a little more seasoning (just a pinch of salt and pepper) but that may be a neutral thing to better serve the general public. Overall though, while I wont be a regular, i know I can get a good sandwich here. read more

Another place I found because of Yelp. I typed LUNCH into the FIND area of Yelp today, and this was the first thing to pop up that caught my attention. I ordered the Italian Cold Cut Sandwich on a French Roll and grabbed a bag of Salt and Vinegar Chips. My total was under $8 and the sandwich did a good job of filling me up. I didnt realize it had oil and vinegar on it, so it was very soggy by the time I got back to work and got to the end of the sandwich. Other than that, it tasted really good. I went around 12:05, and I ordered right away and got my sandwich within a few minutes. They were very quick and friendly! The only down side to this shop, is its location. During the week at lunch, its a serious game of frogger getting through this parking lot. read more

This place was highly rated with their big portions and reasonably priced for many years....not anymore! I finally went for the first time to see if is all true. I had the full size cold Italian cold cut costs $11.99! It used to be $8.99 not long ago. The sandwich wasn't that good at all. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am not a sandwich person, I could care less about them. But MR SANDWICH is the only place I will ever crave a sandwich from. The owners are so sweet, in fact everyone who works there is extremely nice. You can tell tell they enjoy what they do. I always get the Turkey, Avacado and Swiss sandwich on Sqaw bread. This is my favorite local sandwich stop. I work nearby and it's worth the walk. I love all of their fresh sandwiches, but the turkey with sourdough is my favorite. The very best part of this family owned business is the love and sincerity you get from the staff. I just love the husband and wife team. I was in the area and was looking for a new place to grab a bite to eat. The reviews for Mr. Sandwich certainly don't lie! Parking at lunch is a bit chaotic since there it is in a center with a McDonald's, Arby's, and El Pollo Loco along with a few others. I got the turkey, swiss, and avocado sandwich on squaw bread. With all cold sammies you get the options of mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion. The sandwich was killer!! They are so generous with the avocado mash - it was on both the top and bottom of the sandwich. Everything was piled high. The squaw bread adds a little sweetness to the overall sandwich. Mr San-which is in proximity to John Wayne Airport I thought what the hell let's give her a whirl as one would suspect eating at a local place would be far superior then eating processed food at an airport restaurant. Upon ordering I scanned the menu looking for a deli sandwich most could identify with focusing on Italian cold cut. When I placed the order I mentioned to use light mayo and Italian dressing asking them to add Provolone cheese they highly recommended the French roll. Quote, "we make it here, it's the best." The man at the counter processed the order handing me the number they would call it out when the order was ready for pickup. They finally called out the number and I practically feel out of my chair it was the most bellicose and obnoxious "number 74" imaginable. Sat down unwrapped the Italian Sub only to discovery the roll looked looked like it was procured from a grocery store 50% rack also taking notice the roll was mangled. After taking the first bite and what was supposed to be added to the San which was mayo and Italian dressing tasted and that was not the case. The only identifiable taste to compare it to was an eel sauce one would find at a Sushi place. The Salami looked like it had seen better days when Salami looks gray you better stay away. The Ham and other cold cuts were fine it's just a bummer when one protein component does not appear worthy. Have ate at the joint many years ago and don't recall if it's under new ownership or what's the deal. read more

Had this place 2x this week and it was really good. 1st time I ordered a tuna salad and a small soup. I didn't touch the soup until dinner time cuz the salad was fulfilling. It was very yummy. My husband has the pastrami with cheese on a French roll and he enjoyed it. He ate it so fast, I didn't even see it. Lol 2nd day, I ordered the chicken salad salad and it was as good as the tuna salad salad. My husband ordered the same thing as the 1st day and when I looked up from taking a bite from my salad, it was gone. I saved the soup to have for lunch today. read more

My husband and I are on a kick of supporting local businesses and stopped here yesterday for lunch. We picked up sausage and pepper sandwiches and agreed they were both delicious and worth the value (I believe they were just under $7 each). After we placed our order, I went back to the car to wait for the food, while my husband was next door buying donuts. I thought it was so sweet the cashier (or maybe owner?) came out several times to check to see where he was to give hand him our meal. This place is a new find for me. The staff is very helpful and the service is quick. The sandwiches are great on good bread. I have found they lack a good amount of meat but they are willing to double the meat at a reasonable price. I will continue to drive 7 miles past my local subway to eat here. read more

I've already reviewed this place but I have to review again because they deserve it. My daughter who is extremely picky and rarely eats, basically ate my entire sandwich last time so I ordered her, her own sandwich. She says they make the best sandwiches ever. We both love this place, the ladies that work there are so nice and always give my daughter free cookies. The sandwiches are consistent, they make them the same, perfect every time! Was driving around one day during lunch deciding what I wanted and came across this place. I ordered one of the specials (which happened to be roast beef which came with chips and a drink). Sandwich was very tasty and not a bad deal (I believe 9 bucks) for the area as Irvine's very pricey for lunch and dinner. Dining area is very small, and seating is available outside, but also very small, plus a congested parking area. read more

I don't know where to start, first off I was having a bad day and decided to give MR. Sandwich a try. The staff was so amazing and kind. I didn't know that I came in right on closing until I sat down inside and saw one of the workers change the open sign to closed, so I decide to pick up my stuff and go to the outer seating so they can close and the lady said "it's okay eat inside and take your time" and out of nowhere she gifts me some cookies. My day changed in a sec. To finish it off I accidentally forgot my soda in the restaurant and went to pump gas in the same district and next thing I know the amazing lady walked all the way to the gas station and gave me my soda. Best customer service I've ever received. Will be a regular customer from now on. Food was delicious too haha read more

I'm always in the hunt for another great chicken salad sandwich. Before heading to a deli, cafe, bistro or sandwich shop, the first thing I always check is if they have a chicken salad sandwich on their menu. Luckily, Mr Sandwich has just that! My go-to is the full chicken salad sandwich on squaw, with cucumber, extra sprouts, onions, lettuce and mayo (no tomatoes and pickles). First of all, squaw is always the best/preferred bread for any chicken salad sandwiches (with the exception of the chicken curry sandwich at C'est Si Bon Bakery in Newport Beach. THAT exquisite gem is absolutely perfect in a baguette!) Anyways, this is still a great tasting sandwich. It's very simple yet has everything I want. It's creamy but not swimming in mayo, it has just the right amount of seasoning and I also spotted some random diced apples in the filling! The crunch and sweetness of the apple definitely offsets the heaviness of the chicken and mayo. Another great thing to point out is that they pack their sandwiches pretty well--you'll be satisfied by the amount. However, the only downside is that it can get a little messy but that's expected in this type of sandwich. Other than that, I'm happy I found this place. Another great spot for a chicken salad sandwich! read more

It would have been a perfect 10/10 if one side of the bottom bun hadn't been completely soggy from the mustard spilling out of the sandwich. For to-go orders, I think Mendocino Farms should automatically serve the mustard in a separate sauce container to help prevent this issue. My other qualm was with the pickup process. I was seriously in the mood for a good, old-fashioned sandwich from a small, family-run place, and Mr. Sandwich was exactly what I was hoping for. The fact that it's right next to Janny's Donuts? Total bonus--who doesn't love a donut after a sandwich? I couldn't decide on just one, so I ended up ordering two sandwiches: a chicken salad on a French roll and a turkey bacon avocado on toasted sourdough. Both were absolutely spot-on. The chicken salad was creamy without being heavy, and the French roll was fresh and soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together. The turkey bacon avocado on sourdough was equally fantastic--the bacon was crispy, the avocado was perfectly ripe, and the sourdough had just the right amount of crunch from being toasted. Every bite was like a little piece of sandwich heaven, and I left feeling full and totally satisfied. The service was another highlight. I would rate Mr. Sandwich a half-step up over the major sandwich/sub chains in quality but it's my most reliable stand-by in terms of producing a decent lunch that I can get around the corner from where I work. When I stop in, it's usually on my way back from a meeting.There is a decent selection of meat and veggie orders to choose from. Your best value is the daily special, which is posted on a little sign next to the register. Ingredients are a tad fresher and the service is a tad nicer than in the national chains. I usually order something on French bread (meatball or chicken salad) and the ingredients commonly overflow out of the bread ... I've been known to start off using a fork. Also, it takes just a few minutes to get your order. Notes:(1) Inside is tiny, just a few tables. There are also tables outside on the walkway but they are just a few feet from parked cars. I order to-go every time (ambience is unexciting).(2) Because there are three fast-food restaurants sharing the same little shopping center, the parking is majorly congested during the weekday lunch rush. I'd like it better if some salt and pepper was sprinkled and maybe consider another dressing. My friend said it tasted like Costco pesto so nothing that wowed us.
