Very slow service, but courteous. Waitress made a point of telling us they had a party of 30 and were short one staff. This shouldn't have been my problem and management should try to have better back up plans so their customers do not have to suffer. Food was priced very fairly. Daughter had penne with meatballs, Meatball was good, sauce was probably average. I had buffalo chicken pizza and it was good, but I prefer NY style pizza, so just good for me, not great. Haven't found a place to get gluten free pizza when I visit my parents...until now. I've had the pizza twice now and I enjoyed it both times. The pizza was even good cold the next day. There has been around 6 different restaurants at that location over the years they all go from hero to zero in about a year and once that happens they go out of business! Then like magic there's a new name same people working there. Went to Mr Z's yesterday with my niece on her recommendation. I decided to try their pizza and ordered a small "Round the Buffalo" pizza. It was excellent. Sure, it's just a pizza but there's something to be said for a well-made pizza. But what really made it a great experience was the service. Our waitress was VERY attentive and friendly. She checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and seemed sincerely interested in making sure we were all set (we all know that token check in that is done in a perfunctory manner). We sat for a while talking and she still checked on us after we paid the check. Then when we left many of the staff members also wished us well on our way out. I was very impressed. First time here in awhile, and things have changed. After being seated the waitress asked for our drinks which we had to repeat twice. After bringing the drinks and rolls (only 2 rolls instead of the 4 we used to get) she took the order and again had to repeat twice to get the order right. We then had to tell we also wanted an appetizer and she asked do you want that first. In the middle of the meal she asked are we done with the appetizer so she could wrap it. I have to give two thumbs up to Nicolas at Mr. Z's. I had a bad experience a couple of weeks ago, the food wasn't quite up to par. I told Nick about it and he immediately took care of it and took care of my friend and I tonight for dinner. Chelsea his server, outstanding, she gets five stars by her self. I highly recommend giving it a try. although we did not have pizza, my friends pasta was excellent as was my blue burger. The carrot cake, all I can say is scrumptious. Great job guys read more

It was apparent this place is no stranger to satisfying its customers because they were very busy on the night of our very first business. The staff was well trained and sincere, from the pleasant and attentive young hostess to the engaging bartender. Higher priced establishments could do with folks such as these. We only went in for pizza, but the extensive menu certainly had something for everyone. We had one Rustic and one Margarita pizza which not only tasted deliscious, but was pleasing to the eye. It was obvious whoever was making the pies had pride in their work. It was only pizza, but they thought of presentation. We were all very pleased. If you are a regular, good for you cause you got a gem and I am not telling you anything you do not know. Congratulations management because you are doing something right. Stopped here for quick dinner to go while on a roadtrip. Husband got a steak & cheese sub, I got an Italian sub & we shared an order of grape leaves. Prices were fair & quality was good. Only thing we would change is a little more cheese on the steak sub, crushed hot peppers for the Italian sub (only had banana peppers) & hot sauce to go with the grape leaves (they came with a weird dill sauce.) Also, grape leaves were served hot which was rather strange to me. I usually get them at Mediterranean restaurants & they are served cold.. THe place was busy with many people dining in & many phone orders. Overall the place was good and I would stop in and try more menu items if I am ever in the area again. read more

Delightful! Our salad was extremely fresh every single item and it was fresh and it had a light oregano vinegar dressing it was excellent. We had the chicken and spinach pizza the crust is superb; it's very thin and crispy. The rolls were very very good and served with butter. I liked especially that once you when you walked in there was an Glass front desert refrigerated case with cheesecake brownies cake, etc. but I especially appreciated the glass of rice putting it reminded me of the type of thing you see in old style cafeterias. The place is owned by family and has been in business for many years and so it's notpart of a chain and it shows! One gets the feeling they really care about what they do! We pulled off the highway on a family road trip to grab a quick bite to eat, and were happily surprised to stumble upon Mr Z's. I have NEVER seen so many delicious salad offerings on one menu! Not only that, but they were so flexible about customizing the salads even further to meet our needs! First time going because of the reviews on yelp. Atmosphere was great, music choice not so much. Chairs super comfy but bathroom was kind of sketchy. Our waitress was very nice and super attentive. Huge menu but being a picky eater, I was still a bit disappointed. The bread alone was worth going for! Got a pizza and was thoroughly impressed. It was delicious, great size and very inexpensive. The restaurant has plenty of seating and nice decor. However, we were very cold and asked to move seats or turn heat up. We noticed others were putting their coats on as well. They turned heat on for 5 mins but we were only warm for 10 then cold again. The food presentation was very nice and good portions, tasted good but served on cold plates so with cold room it did not stay warm long. On Mother's Day I ordered, and paid for, a meal for my whole family. I walked in to find several people waiting for their orders. 4 of us had masks on but most didn't. As I looked around at the workers, I saw that two had masks but they were pulled to the side. The girl who was preparing the takeouts had no mask at all. Every single employee in the kitchen (visible from the waiting area) had no masks. When I ordered I chose a pickup time that was 45 minutes later. I waited 20 minutes past this and Finally I couldn't take the absolute lack of anyone in charge to address the no use of masks by the entire establishment. I told them I could not wait in that environment any longer and requested they refund my money. Well that didn't happen but what did was that I vowed never to order from them again. My main reason is that I see now that the overall mentality there was that they felt they had zero obligation to protect their customers. Shame on the management for allowing this 59 year old person to be put so readily in harms way. I would expect that this restaurant will not change especially when the state reopens. read more

Food is usually fair, but bland. We usually sit at the bar. I like a couple of the bartenders. One older woman bartender we didn't like at all. She wanted to announce to the men at the bar that (and I quote) "You'z guy's Ghutta realize women are in charge" Then seemed pissed when I didn't laugh. Just had no class, lets put it that way. What annoys me is the (maybe) off duty staff drinking at the bar. There are some real punk ass scumbag customers there. (as well as some nice ones) Take tonight for example. Was a slow night but we had to sit near a loud mouth group who surrounded themselves around a punk who looked like a slower IQ, midget version of Vanilla Ice on crack. I tried not to look in his direction much which is the opposite of my usual stance. He wanted to announce his 3rd rehab attempt and his big "settlement" he has coming. He felt the need to shoulder bump/hug all the kitchen staff as they came out. What I call a punk bitch. At any rate, he is far from the only one who acts like this, but was the worst. I have a police officer look. What's funny is... I'm not. Far from it in fact. I did a few tours in the Marines then a position as a hand combat instructor but, no police duty- I could read their thought process thinking I was looking over. ALERT!- Cop over there. I am however a natural on body language. You get that uncomfortable vibe coming from the chatter and laughs of kitchen staff and mini Vanilla Ice. Or, at least I did. Am I paranoid? Nope.... This Bozo also INSISTED to know what street the female bartender lived on. As we walked out my wife was behind me and he decides to swivel his bar stool and body around to give her the "sexy" eyeballs as she laughed. I'm glad she didn't tell me until we were on the highway because I would have knocked his punk ass to the floor- (don't let my new beer belly fool ya either Vanilla) I didn't say anything on the spot because I didn't know about the final annoyance until we had already left. I wouldn't have even cared if in turn, I lost. Not just for that, but for the obnoxious big mouth he had which ruined our time. I hope he does well with the Heroin addiction after the settlement comes in It's the crowd that's annoying at that place. I've also heard the business was for sale. As to the owner... don't worry, we won't be back! As for the new customers, be sure to get your ghetto hug and fist bump and "yeah brother" slang practice down. These types, such has "Mini Vanilla" wearing a red wife beater keeps leaving the bar and walk back in with others from outside. I wonder how that system works? Why not meet friends IN the bar? Why the guilty look/dirty looks? Need a fix anyone? Its very unfortunate the owners feed the stray cats at the bar. I wonder why the heck they wouldn't appreciate (what they thought) was a police officer at the bar? Hummmmmm, Tough call. Not too bad. Standard italian-ish fare. Service was very slow, but I was in a large group of 15, so that may have been a factor.

I have eaten here four times and the food is decent but each and every time the order has been wrong or there was something omitted. Be careful when you order appetizers and dinner at the same time, each and every time I have asked the server to hold off the meals, there has been have eaten apps left on the table because food came out minutes after the apps were served. I have to start by saying the decor in here is amazing compared to what it used to be when it was oconnors. It's rustic but comfortable and the seating is nice- you don't feel like you are sitting on top of other tables. The food is ok - nothing outstanding but good if you are looking to have variety and not incredibly picky about flavor and gourmet. I had chicken piccata which wasn't the best but wasn't the worst- the chicken would be better if it was breaded and the sauce could use alittle more seasoning. My husband had a pastrami grinder which he said was ok- it could ha e used more meat though - we ordered my son a cheese pizza and it was pretty good but would order it with extra sauce next time. The bread they bring out in the beginning is great and served hot! I'd like to try it again and maybe try a sandwich or a different pasta dish.
