Let me begin by saying that I wish I could give this ZERO stars. I received a wrapped and sealed gift package from a friend last night. At first, it looked like a really nice arrangement of chocolates from Munchies. I have never been to Munchies, but have heard really good things about it, so I was excited to try them. A while later, my friend and I were looking at the package when, all of a sudden, we noticed something MOVING inside. Shocked, we continued looking at it. Then, we noticed A BUNCH of white worms crawling around inside the gift!!!!! We couldn't believe it!!!!!! We went after dinner to get some treats with our daughter and was surprised by the behavior of the owner. When my daughter handed him her bag of selected candy it was placed on the scale which we expected but the owner kept his finger on the edge and proceeded pushed down onto the scale bringing the weight to a bigger amount. He did not remove his finger until he removed the bag. He thought we didn't see him doing it but I am fairly tall and could see over onto his side, and we were just stunned at what we witnessed. Her bag didn't ultimately cost all that much but we thought his cheating and criminal behavior was disgusting. We spoke with our daughter about his dishonesty and how people like that should be reported and his business be banned. We understand now from local neighborhood kids that this action is common with him. Many avoid shopping there as a result which is why the candy tends to look old. I now buy Kosher candy from the Candy Warehouse online because of this owners cheating habits. We will never be back and he should be ashamed. read more

I was in desperate search for purple colored candy for a candy buffet. I went to Costco, Michael's, and finally found a few items at Party City. I found Munchies on Yelp and the man who answered the phone was so helpful, listing the purple items they have. I went in there shortly thereafter because they are open late until 10PM and found everything I needed! They have lots of color-themed candies for a reasonable price. I got a huge bag of saltwater taffy for under $15! The man, who seemed like the owner, was so helpful, helping us choose items and cut our costs down. Super friendly. Great candy store, and they have all sorts of fun dipped desserts too! read more

Very good selection of just about every sweet treat you can think of. There is candy, ice cream, cotton candy, cookies, cakes,drinks toys etc. If you are not doing the sugar thing they do offer some limited sugar free items; ask for them so the staff can help you find them and identify which items are truly sugar free. They are closed Saturdays but I think they do open at the nigh time hours until late. The parking is not so good. You will have to fight for street parking which is not always available. The place is moderately clean and pretty well kept but I think they can make a little better effort in the house tightyness department. read more

I work with a lot of students who are ultra-orthodox, and this is the only place I go to buy prizes and treats for them. The owner is very friendly and helpful. They have an amazing assortment of kosher candy, and boxed chocolates. They also carry kosher wine, I noticed the other day, and for the first time I noticed the ice cream - like I've said before I can be very unobservant. the order. ice cream on a chocolate-nut cone i didn't expect much coming into this treats shop. i just saw the homemade ice cream (at least it tasted so) and wanted to try it on a chocolate dipped cone. i had one scoop each of the cookies and cream and caramel fudge. the cookies and cream was not bad, but the caramel fudge was better even though there should have been more fudge in my opinion. the choco dipped cone tasted stale; i thin it's because they used a sugar cone and not a waffle cone. it's not somehting i'd go bcak for. but the ice cream is not bad. im assuming it's kosher, too, just because it's in a very jewish part of town (pico and robertson area) read more

a VERY kosher candy store. they have ice cream, candy, nuts, gift baskets, and different drinks. it's a pretty cool place. they have a lot of odd/funny candies. i've gotten ice cream from here which was pretty good. the employees are pretty friendly and the prices are fair. the only downside i can think of is that some of the bins have candy/nuts in them that look like they may have been there for quite awhile. also, the place is a wee bit dirty inside. read more

Why did I EVER discover this place?! I have an enormous sweet tooth and when I walked into Munchies I almost teared up. Whatever candy you can think of from chocolate to gummies is in this store. I will admit I visit here at least once a week and make myself only buy ONE bag of candy. The problem with the Kosher places is there's little variety. Munchies is and will always be the GO-TO kosher candy shop. What I don't like is their service. Same owners and people have worked there for the last 15 years, no appreciation​ for their customers and repeat customers. They make you feel that they're doing you a favor shopping there. The only reason it didn't give it 5 stars is cause it's a little small. But despite the size, this place is jam packed with candy! Tons of bins filled with jelly beans, gummies, jawbreakers, and even dried fruit (but honestly who wants candied fruit in a candy store?). Everything is pay-by-weight and you can mix and match candies as long as they're in the same price range ($2.99-5.99). We ended up getting a few different bags. Everything was fresh and delicious! Nothing worse than stale bin candy and Munchies had none of that! They also had a smaller wall of various chocolate items, pretzels, truffles, bon bons, etc. Although I didn't get anything chocolately this last trip, it all looked delicious and I plan on returning over Valentine's weekend to get some sweets for my sweetie. Some people had commented on the difficulty of parking. Fortunately for me I live close enough to walk. But honestly this is LA, if I only went places with easy parking I'd never go anywhere! I heard about this place for years and decided to drop in. the prices are fair compared to other candy stores that have the price advertised by the quarter pound when they charge something like $12 per pound. there are varied prices for candy by pound. I purchased hot tamales and some gummy bears at $2.99/ LB. they also have candy individually priced as well along with ice cream, icee (slurpee) and other addicting treats. they didn't have coke bottles which is one of my favorites types of candy. everything is kosher. The reason not to go there- the owners! After buying so much stuff - candy and special baskets for Jewish holidays - and purposely supporting their business- we just bought milkshakes that tasted worst than medicine. We both agreed it tasted off. I spoke to the owner and he nastily refused to change it or refund it. He didn't care if I threw it out he said, and he knew we have purchased other items and were always good customers. We tried it once more and had to spit it out. It was awful tasting. Well they lost our business. If you want a good milkshake we suggest Nagilla. Shame on these owners. They have never been pleasant. read more

So I called yesterday spoke to very friendly woman asking if they carried a specific candy that I have been unable to find, she said yes; I was ecstatic! I made sure and asked again if it was the specific name she said yes, so I go there today I looked at their cute, very clean store with friendly staff. You ask then why 1 star.....after looking around I asked for the candy I called about the woman says there as she pointed I said this is the only brand she said yes I said I called yesterday I was informed it was the candy I have been looking for, it was not the candy ; ( so then I decided to purchase the candy and try the off brand. As I go to check out I pull out my debit card, she said you have to spend $7.00 in order to use your card I said you really can't take the card she said "no"....I paid cash and thanked them because they were nice but, they should have a sign that specified their payment regulations. read more
