What a pleasant surprise! I was waiting for my car down the street and resigned myself to picking the least unhealthy thing at the local sandwich shop. Instead, My Other Kitchen served up a delicious and amazingly fresh sandwich. Better still, it came in a recyclable( maybe compostable ) box, and a glass bottle for my drink. No plastic!!! The baked muffins and the veggie omelette here are excellent. The staff is incredibly courteous as well. The only reason why I don't give this place 5 stars is because there was not enough space inside for my family to sit all together. There are no tables, just little counters against which to sit with bar stools. There was outside seating but that's mainly for the Spring and the Summer. I've had My Other Kitchen on my list of places to try for a long time - and I can't wait to go back again! It was very busy when I was there, and now I definitely understand why. I was hoping to try the lamb pita, but unfortunately they were all out. Instead, i got the grilled chicken gyro on a pita and it was very delicious. It was stuffed with greens, and the chicken was flavorful. Overall it was a fresh and delicious lunch. My boyfriend got the chicken gyro with rice and mashed potatoes (typical). He loved his as well. It was huge! I can't wait to come back and hopefully get a chance to try the lamb. read more

This place is a gem. We were visiting the area from NJ and stopped in. The restaurant is very small and cozy. I got the feel that the locals camp out here and the owner and staff know everyone by name. The inviting smell of grilling food hits you as soon as you open the door. The staff was very friendly and genuine. The food was all delicious. We had a variety of items and will just say each was tastier than the next. Fresh fresh ingredients. The feta cheese on our salads was amazing. Chicken and roast beef were juicy and tasty. Be aware though when I say small and cozy. The eat in area is limited to about 8 seats at a wrap around counter bar with stools and shared area with those waiting for take-out. Owner of this restaurant was very sweet. The other employee working was also kind and helpful. We called before to ask if dogs were allowed on their patio and were welcomed with a bowl of water and dog cookie. Just found this place, and this food is outstanding. I was bummed when Seta closed last year, but now that I've found this place, life is good again. We wanted to try this place as we live close by. Most of the people order for take-out. We asked whether they serve at the tables, and they 'yes'. After ordering chicken souvlaki and a roast beef melt sandwich, we ended up waiting for 1hr and 10 min. Yes, it's not a typo, 1 hr and 10 min! It turns out they do not prioritize the orders for customers who dine in. Since the weather was nice, let's say we were OK with this. Then we get our orders. She first asks, "did you order the souvlaki with potatoes"? I say "yes, that's what you recommended". She said after waiting 1hr and 10 min that they are out of potatoes and asks whether I would like something else. I am a pretty easy going customer and ask for an alternative instead. Then, I get the orders. A burned stick with 4 small pieces of chicken for $11.75 ?? And they are, let me say I had a lot of souvlakis, 'dry' and tasteless. No greens or anything on the side. Just a burned stick with 4 small pieces of dry chicken. What a disappointment! For her credit, the owner apologized for the wait, which I appreciate (+1 star). But you ought to do better: 1) Tell me that the wait will be unreasonably long when I order. 2) Prioritize the customers who dine in. 3) Try to make it up to the customer with some small gesture for the inconvenience. The roast beef? Commercially bought roast beef in a commercially bought sliced bread. That's it. And they charge $9.95 for that. If you want to go for this, please go ahead, but for me "never again"! read more

This place was GREAT for a while. My husband and I moved to the area and were so excited when we first ordered. It was basically our go-to for about 6 months but things started to go downhill over time and I REALLY hope they can fix some of this stuff. My biggest issue: We always ordered the Greek salad and added chicken. The portion of the chicken got to laughable sizes. It was SO tiny I couldn't even believe they severed it. It eventually got so small we didn't want to both ordering.I don't like huge portions but it wasn't even enough for a meal. Also, not a huge deal but they forgot the salad dressing twice and that's basically what makes the salad so good. read more

I have lunch there at least once a week. Everything they have is really fresh and tasty. They are very busy and if they tell you 20 minutes it will be a half hour or more. Check your order before you leave, if one of their regular waitstaff don't put your order togetehr you might be missing stuff because good help is hard to find and train. I have been here about four times. The first time I got takeout, the avocado melt, and it was great and made fast! But when I asked for any dairy free milk, all they had was expired almond milk. When I told them thanks, but I'll just drink it black, they absolutely insisted I smelled it to see if it was good. I thought it was a little strange but I understand they wanted to be accommodating. The second time I went about two weeks later, I ordered the same thing, but it was put together an wrapped poorly and impossible to eat as a sandwich. They had the same almond milk. Next week I came back and dined in with my boyfriend. We had to clear other peoples dishes off the table ourselves to sit, fine. He ordered a vegetarian wrap, and I ordered a turkey sandwhich with veggies on the side. His sandwich was so soggy and slimy, he didnt even eat it. My turkey melt was fine, but missing the avocado, and had cheese, which I had asked them to leave off. I had grilled vegetables on the side, which were burnt on the outside, but practically raw inside. We intended on eating there, but had to ask for it to go because I had to go back to work, and it took them 35 minutes to make our food. $40 on food and only the sandwich was ok. Today I went back, and had the gyro plate. This time the vegetables were fine, but I paid and extra $1.50 for avocado, which, again, was missing. The cole slaw was runny and leaking through the container. for a $16 plate I expected much more. Generally sandwiches are decent here, but customer service is lacking and the mistakes on the orders are frequent. You might expect a little more for the price. read more

This place is amazing! I get the same thing every time I go there, but it's because it is that good. The first time I ordered the spinach pie special which is a spinach pie and Greek salad, it came to me in a sort of small fold up box (to go). I thought "wow for $10 I'm sort of surprised it all fits in this box, guess it was too good to be true". Once you open the thing up you realize how dense that salad is (with AMAZING house dressing), and pairing that with a filling spinach pie fills you up quickly. I've since been back multiple times to get the same thing. It doesn't look like a lot of food until you realize you finished it all and you're stuffed. Everything else on the menus looks amazing too! Recently enjoyed the veggie omelet with home fries and a breakfast sandwich with bacon and american cheese on 7 grain bread. Really love that they use compostable straws. The tiny restaurant (about 8 barstools + small outside seating area) was pretty busy at 10AM on a Saturday, but two seats opened up just a few minutes after we ordered at the counter. Staff were very friendly and suggested their favorite items for us to try. Chicken gyro breakfast wrap: This was HUGE! I ate half and saved the other for lunch. The bread was nice and soft, eggs cooked well, and the whipped feta was delicious. My only complaint was that the chicken wasn't actually gyro style like I expected-- more like a ground chicken patty. Good nonetheless! Home fries: thin sliced potatoes, not too greasy. No complaints! Blueberry streusel muffin, grilled: This is what made the meal! I would go back and get one of these alone with a coffee any day. The muffin was full of large blueberries and topped with brown sugary crumbles and grilled with butter. SO GOOD. We'll be back next time we are in the area! read more
