Awesome job, they are very particular that the nails look good. I've been seeing Vicky, who I love! I have seen others, and I'm always happy. The pedicure is heaven. Prices are reasonable, and I can usually get in within a day or two. But they do have lots of regular clients. My "daughter in law" and I love all the ladies and feel so special and pretty when we get out! BTW, it is a little tricky to find for new people. It is where El Cajon and Montezuma meet. It's between Fatoush Greek Restaurant and the Speedy Cash check cashing. If you know where Ralph's is, that is across the street on 67th and Montezuma! Other landmarks all on the corners of El Cajon and 67th are Pep Boys, Starbucks, and The Daily Grind Cafe. DIRECTIONS: Heading east on Montezuma you will turn into the last parking lot before the light at El Cajon, after the Apts. If you miss that turn, make the right turn onto El Cajon. The parking lot runs between Montezuma and El Cajon. If you are on El Cajon going east, you need to make the U Turn at Montezuma. Heading west on El Cajon go through the intersections for 67th and Montezuma, but be ready to turn right into that first parking lot! You will be able to see the sign as you approach. These are my nails, I do like a little sparkle! Have fun!

Absolutely LOVEEEE this location. I've gotten my nails done twice, and my girlfriend got a pedicure! Super reasonable prices, the nails STAY on and I am hard on nails. I've never been able to get an actual fill until this set. The ladies are always so nice, and if you go on a weekday you can get right in with no wait. Definitely my new go to place!

This review is for the waxing service only Do not come here. The job was patchy, rushed, and I was covered in cold wax after. The wax was not at all hot enough, making the process unnecessarily painful. The worst part was how DIRTY it is. (See pictures). My senses told me to leave when I was taken into the filthy back room but sadly I lost my nerve. Then I was charged 25 DOLLARS FOR AN UNDERARM wax????? It should never be more than 12 dollars anywhere. Let alone in a place with such terrible cleanliness. Absolutely horrendous.

I came here for a last minute mani/pedi as it was close open to home. I have to keep my nails short and no fake nails due to work and they revived my natural nails! Sandy did my gel mani and pedi and she was amazing! The color choices are gorgeous too, she was attentive to the color painting & gave me an extended hand massage. The spa pedi was the bees knees...perfect and relaxing. I avidly climb and hike so she saved my feet from the recently adventures The prices are fair for the service. I think I'll be back here again for sure!

I have been coming to this location since 2003. The location is small but I have NEVER had a bad experience. I am a bit OCD so I worry about proper sterile techniques and I trust this location. Loved this location! They were super friendly... They have an awesome selection of nail color powder, gel, and regular nail polish. It looks brand new and the quality seems amazing so far. I got a full set with color powder and a regular pedicure with callous removal. The pictures say it all! They are so cute and I love the color. The nails looks sharp and I think it was great execution. They aren't super thick and they go right up to the cuticle. The pedicure was basic but great for the price! It was 18 + 5 for the callous removal and I would've paid 30 for the quality. I don't know how long I can add how impressed I am with this nail salon. I always get nervous going somewhere for the first time but they have made a regular out of me. And I live right around the corner! If you were looking for a sign to try this place here it is.

Pictured gel manicure is over 2 weeks old! I swam, wash my hands constantly and use alcohol gel 20 times a day. This manicure won't quit! What witchcraft is this? Vicky was great to take me as a walk in on a late Sunday afternoon when my usual place was too busy. I think I'm a convert now! One little chip on my dominant pointer finger but even then it's not peeling off. My only complaint was that the A/C wasn't running on a hot summer day, but I survived.

I got acrylics and the shape of them is extremely wide despite my asking for narrow. They originally did a white color which I did not like and asked for them to change it. She left so much white on my nails that I can still see it. They did not do ANYTHING at all to my cuticles ?? Like untouched. Over all super disappointed.

Finding a nail salon has always been a problem for me because my cuticles grow out very fast and every time anybody has tried to cut them, they never get all the cuticles trimmed and they end up growing out faster than normal. For anybody that has issues with their cuticles and can never get them trimmed properly or are left unsatisfied with how they look after a manicure, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming to Lynn. I have been seeing Lynn since high school (close to 8 years now) and I have never had someone trim my cuticles as amazing as she does. In addition, she is extremely sweet, humble, and takes her time when working on your nails and makes sure you are 100% satisfied with how your nails look. Her work is consistent, and when I go somewhere else for convenience or a quick fix, I instantly regret not waiting for Lynn to fix my nails for me. Amazing prices, amazing service, wonderful employees, and beautiful looking nails, you can't get any better than that!

I have had nothing but good experiences here. Wether I come alone or bring my kids to get their nails done as well, the staff is so friendly. The prices are reasonable, and they don't mind if I bring my own polish or come up with crazy ideas of nails being different colors or doing nail art. read more

Very friendly crowd. Yen was amazing, and expressed excellent attention to detail. She gave me exactly what I wanted and was very sweet. Extremely decent price. I got a $20 mani/pedi, extra $6 for polka dots. Not bad! It got busy pretty quick, so I'd make an appointment in advance just to be safe. Definitely coming back read more

My wife and I come here a few times a year and always enjoy the friendly welcome greeting. The staff even knows us by our names and we don't come very regularly. The spa pedicure is the service I get. It takes approximately 30 minutes and is only $19! The spa pedicure includes a relaxing calf and foot massage too. I recommend calling ahead to schedule an appointment to ensure you're not waiting too long if you're a walk-in. They do accept walk-ins though. read more

Acrylics done, the nails were ok and the price was cheap. The place is dirty, the carpet at the front of the store looks so stained and old. There's plugs exposed all over the place. They were doing a pedi on a girl and it was on a foot tub just randomly placed in one of the acrylic stations. A place that doesn't keep things super clean at front of store cannot have good cleaning practices for the back of the store. Definitely not returning here. read more

I've been here 2x & both times Vicky has done an amazing job. The first time, i went because my previous salon just kept messing my nails up. She took my nails to PERFECTION. They were all uneven, different lengths, and poor acrylic. She pretty much is my favorite person! read more

Sadly, this was one of the worst pedicures I've received. The facilities are nice and the massage chairs are lovely. But very little effort was made to scrub my heels! I even specifically asked for a callus removal, and they said no. Sadly, I will not be going back. There are so many other nail salons that give that extra amount of attentiveness and effort! I was really excited for my pedicure and it was so disappointing. read more

Really can't complain about my experience honestly. I walked right in, I was sat immediately and I got a "spa pedicure" for $18!! You get what you pay for(Minimal cuticle cutting, short massage, light scrubbing, etc). But honestly, not too bad. It's a pedicure so it really can't be screwed up. I will come back when I need another super cheap pedicure! (Probs not manicure) read more

Yeah I absolutely hated my nails, I tried to guide her and keep telling her coffin but the end result was definitely not coffin it was all over the place. She was really friendly and I'm not the type of person to make a scene so I just took the L on my nails but my pedicure came out good. So if u want good looking coffin I don't recommend this place. So I'm just going to re-file the nails myself to make them look like what I wanted. read more

BYOP. I had a nice manicure as a walk-in. The place was clean, service friendly, price was great, BUT the polish I picked from their display of options was sub par. It chipped and flaked after a day and in 3 days looked horrible. I would go back but would bring my own polish (BYOP) to ensure they use a quality product. read more

I came in last Thursday for a fill and a pedicure and my gel is peeling off! They charge an extra 15 dollars just for gel polish on acrylics on top of the 27 they charge for fills. So 42 for a fill and the polish is peeling within a week..... I won't be back. read more

Quick and friendly service! Called at 9:15, they made my appt for 9:45. Walked in and was greeted and sat down with Lynn. She is fabulous! I needed a full set pink/white. Her attention to detail and her care were spot on; and trust me, I'm picky. She was also so quick I decided to get a pedicure as well. All together it was $50. I'm def gonna be back! read more

Today I went to nail expressions for the first time. Vicky was great. She cleaned my cuticles so well without nipping me or cutting live skin. She didn't rush through my service at all and the gels look amazing. The price was beyond reasonable. If you are looking for a new nail person Vicky is totally worth checking out. And I imagine the other nail techs are too. read more

My new go-to nail spot in SD. Spa pedicure for $16. Walked in, no wait, and they started seeing me right away. No pressure for any added services, which I appreciated. The lady doing my nails did not rush with me. Plus points for that. I love the massage chairs and they have a good selection of OPI and China Glaza polishes. This place surpassed my expectations and I am a fan! read more

Literally the worst customer service; the rudest people work at this place. It might be cheap but it is not worth their rude demeanor and disrespectful manner towards heir customers. Avoid going here if you don't want to be humiliated 1. Make an appointment, I'm less than 10 minutes and she took someone else and pretty much yelled at me from not being htere earlier 2. All 4 of them blankly looked at me with their extremely cold and rude stares 3. As the lady that was supposed to take me told me she took someone she walked away without letting me say anything so I embarassingly asked everyone else working if they could all take me and no one responded except one, and said "Nope. You are gonna have to wait awhile now." 4. After that I just left and I am never go back. I do not care how cheap you are but if you're gonna be rude to your customers and the people that give you a living then I will take my business elsewhere. 5. One women working there cursed at me in her foreign language for not knowing how to use their paper towel dispenser... Ridiculous honestly. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN. read more

Megan is awesome! She is so attentive and easy going. The only downfall about this place is that they charge for every little thing. To change color only or to have the whole manicure done. I'm used to one set price for all. I also got my eyebrows done here, very fast but I felt pretty rushed. But for $8? Can't complain. read more

I was looking for a cheap place to get acrylic nails and I found nail expression on Yelp. Although they told me a full set of acrylics was 12 dollars it ended up being 15 without tip because I wanted glitter acrylic, which I was okay with. Two weeks went by and I was ready for a fill. I called expression nails to make an appointment and the lady who answered the phone spoke English well but was very rude. She said it would cost 20 dollars for a fill because my nails grew. She hadn't seen my nails so I don't know how she would know this and they were not long. Plus on their window it says a fill is 9 dollars and I'm not sure how a fill would cost more than a full set. The lady on the phone was extremely rude in explaining why it would cost more. Nail expression has lost my business. I do not know this ladies name but I do know that she is the only one who spoke English very well and she wore glasses. read more

My (literally pronounced 'my') was my nail technician. I called pretty late and asked if I could come in last minute for a french manicure that was $14. They were very accommodating and told me to go ahead and come in! Parking could be a problem for some. They have a small lot. There is free street parking though! My was very nice and good with conversation. I liked how she asked me to pay for my service before my polish so I didn't ruin my nails afterward trying to get out my wallet. She was very patient and even had to fix one of my nails because I accidentally bumped it against the table. My nails looked fabulous after; however, they've already started chipping :/ It's only been 4 days...sigh. I'd come back for sure though. Maybe get some acrylics or gel polish so it stays longer :) read more

I agree with everyone else: Don't judge this book by it's cover! Even as I walked up and peeked in the window, I was thinking about going somewhere else, it just looked so blah. However, I always trust my fellow yelpers and I'm glad I did! My (yes, that's her name) did my pedi and she was so nice! She turned on the massage function on the chair, adjusted it so I'd be the right distance back and not all scrunched up, asked me if I'd like a magazine (when I said yes, she said, "Here's the most recent issue"), and then got to work. She didn't talk tot he other nail ladies in another language, she tried to be a little chatty, but not too much. Overall, she was very sweet, apologized when she left me for a minute to collect payment from another customer, and called me by name each time she asked a question. Made sure I liked the polish I chose before she did all my toes and then let me hang out for 10 minutes while my nails dried. Only down side: she scrubbed my feet so good she gave me a little scrape on my heel where I ALWAYS get blisters. Also, the lot is super tiny, so don't count on getting a spot in the lot. Big plus: They play country music and there was only a 5 minute wait on a Friday afternoon!!! read more

This is a wonderful nail salon. I've been searching for a place ever since I moved to San Diego, and I think I found it! It's not only super affordable, but it is also a real good quality salon. I got the spa pedicure that is $16.00. They spent a good amount of time on every step, and accomplished every request I had. Customer service was really great also! I'm definitely going to come back, and I would definitely recommend it to others. read more

I come here about once a month and get the spa pedi/mani and I am never disappointed. The massage chairs are so nice, and having someone rub my feet and hands is always nice. I would say the only thing I have an issue with is being able to always understand the employees. I just feel that is part of the experience and I have come to expect that. read more

I've been looking for a new place for a pedicure, so of course, I turned to Yelp, and discovered Nails Expression. The first thing that I noticed about this salon was how clean it was. Not just clean, I would say spotless. I liked the fact that they sterilize the instruments in an autoclave, and not chemicals. I went during the day, and it wasn't busy, but I'm sure it is after people start getting off work. They have a large selection of nail polish in the back, which was nice, because I couldn't find my own bottle to take with me, but they had it there. The price was not only right, it was extremely reasonable. It cost $20 for a spa pedicure with a design on my big toes. So I've found my new nail salon, and when I need another pedicure, I'll be returning to Nails Expression. read more

I'm pretty new to getting my my nails done and this place is two minutes walk from my bf's house and my roommate was desperate to get her nails done so we stopped by last minute. My nails came out so perfect exactly how I wanted. Megan did my nails and she was super easy to talk to and did my nail shape effortlessly. They're stronger than any other acrylics I've had. Not only did the location take me as a walk-in but the service was really great. The woman who did my nails was incredibly thoughtful and had me pay early so that I wouldn't mess up my nails getting my wallet. I called for a walk in, got there within 5 minutes and sat right down. Mai was the nicest nail lady I have had in such a long time! Great pedicure, and even told me to sit for 10 minutes before leaving so I didn't mess up my nails (rare). read more

I came here last minute and they managed to accommodate me. Their prices are great and their service is great. My nails lasted around 3-4 weeks and they were fantastic. I got so many compliments. They have so many colors to choose from! I highly recommend it. read more

I love Nails Expression! My friend Tyana and her friend Merinn told me about this place and I absolutely love getting my nails done here. With any other nail place if you go at a busy time of course the service won't be as on point because they want to try to service everybody and make everyone happy. But I try to go during times that are convenient for me but also at a non-busy time. I love this place for many reasons but the biggest one is when I get acrylics done here they stay ON. The edges hardly ever lift or rarely will a nail break off (and that's super important to me because I wash my hands A LOT). They really try adhere your acrylic to your nail which is so rare to find a decent nail place to do this. They have a wide variety of glitter acylics too and other styles. I love getting my acrylics done by Megan or Vicky. I tend to stay with the same person if they started my Full Set, but when I go bare I go to anyone. The pedicures are sometimes hit or miss with the length of time in the massage but they again do a great job with applying polish and making it last a long time. I wish they had some more spa pedicure options to add on but at the same time I appreciate going somewhere where they don't try to upsell you something every minute. But you really can't complain with the price of the Spa Pedicures. Love them! I highly recommend Nails Expression, if you are person who has to wash your hands as frequent as I do and you get acrylics, I totally recommend Nails Expression. The place isn't fancy looking but don't let that fool you, cuz the quality of work is awesome!!! Thanks Ladies! read more

I normally like to do my own nails, I am a college student and like to save money but once a month it's nice to pop in for a pedi or if I have a special occasion I will get a full set. I love this place! The girls actually talk to you and are super sweet! Their prices are pretty reasonable because they are great at what they do. I went in today to get a pedi after working hard during the week and needed to relax, there is a special deal regular pedi + mani for $26! You can't beat that. I usually make an appointment with Megan, she is amazing and you won't be disappointed! read more

Very nice. I had my first pedicure here...wasn't sure what to expect but came out very pleased (and it seemed like a pretty good price too.) While I was there, I decided to get my eyebrows waxed, too. For $8 I couldn't resist. I had previously gone to a place in Normal Heights (recommended on Yelp) and had a pretty bad experience. So I didn't have high expectations. Well--the eyebrow wax was easily worth $8! Quick, professional, and well done. I'm VERY pleased and will definitely go back. I walked in and it's this little whole in the wall place. I wasn't greeted and when I asked for a pedicure the lady rudely told me to sign the sheet. The lady who actually did my toes was a bit nicer, but still rude. When she finished my toes she shoved my shoe and nearly ruined the polish. Got the basic mani/pedi for $23 and it was great! They got me in right away as a walk in and have tons of colors. My gal was very nice and even helped me pick a new color for my toes after I didn't like the first color she did. Great service! I'll be back for sure. read more

Inexpensive and detail oriented! I read reviews before trying any new place and even with the few negatives I gave it a go and was very impressed. The ladies were quiet and focused but did engage in conversation here and there, but it was nice that they triple checked my nails during my fiancé and I's pedi's. Efficient, relaxing, and focused is how I'd describe my experience I will definitely be going back to treat my tootsies :) read more

What could have been a 40 minute visit took twice as long. $65 also felt excessive for regular polish, I've gotten gel polish for that amount at other salons. Customer service was also meh - she seemed annoyed when I asked to swap out the color after testing it on one nail and didn't recommend any additional services like at other salons. What was even more frustrating was that by the evening three of my nails were already chipped! Will not be returning, don't recommend!

I was really excited to go to Nail Expressions because of all the positive reviews. I went there with my sisters and we all got spa pedicure and manicure with French tips. Once we all signed in and they got to us very quickly. The chairs for the pedicures all were equipped with massagers which was a plus. Yen was the person who did my nails and I was very satisfied with her attention to detail when she did my French pedicure. However when she got to doing my French manicure she started to get sloppy and it seemed very rushed like she was trying to finish within a certain timeframe. I spoke with my sister afterwards and she said the same thing happened to her with her person also rushing through her French manicure. I had notice she had missed putting polish on some spots in the sides of my nails and when I asked her to fix them, she said it would be "no better". I was really taken aback by that response. At the time this happened, she and the other nail ladies had already made us pay for the services and tips so they were rushing to get us out of there so they can move on to someone else. This place is not bad, but it can definitely be a lot better with customer service. I will try other nail salons before considering going back to this one. read more

This place is awesome! Great atmosphere & great prices. I got a spa pedicure and it was $5 cheaper than the place I had been going. It was nice and relaxing while I sat in my massage chair while one of the girls painted my toes. At other places, the employees talk so loudly to each other in their native language that I always feel like I'm interrupting something and is anything but relaxing. This place is definitely the exception. Will definitely be returning. Only words of warning...the parking lot is small with small spaces so parking can be tricky. read more

Horrible place!! They do not know what they are doing!! They can't put gel on nail polish because they said the gel that have will crack- sugar coated for-CHEAP GEL They can can not file down your previous nails if you had powder they will force you to get a new full set when you do not need too!! And and to top it off you will spend 2 and half hours- for ugly looking nails!! Will never go here again do not recommend it to anyone! So bad i did not tip not even a dollar!! I don't trust any other nail shop as I continue to do business here! I just got a gel manicure by LYNN, who is super nice and does such a great job every time. YEN, who is very meticulous and so sweet, does my pedicures! I appreciate them so much for always giving me the cutest hands and feet. This salon is great because you can communicate with the technicians and get exactly what you want! Halfway through my nails being done, I asked to go a little shorter, (which as you may know, can make many technicians very angry) and the girl doing my nails gave me no grief about it!
