I went in to get my nails done for my best friends wedding that I am the maid of honor in. Ken made the entire experience unpleasant and had the worst attitude. First, he would fling my arms around without caring if I could even move my arms in the shape he wanted. Secondly, the cure light turned off for a SECOND when he was pressing the nail and somehow it was my fault for not "working as a team" to move fast enough to the light, and because of this "one mistake mess whole thing and we have to start over". I was just sitting there, it's not my fault he didn't tap the light in time to turn it on. Third, he ended the service by not cleaning all the dust off my hands and nails, nor giving me lotion like most nail salons. He put cuticle oil ON TOP of the acrylic dust as I was already walking to the sink to wash the dust off because he didn't bother to do so. Fourth, he said to me "don't get gel x anymore because your nails curve down" yet I've been getting Gel X for a decade and no one else has had an issue. Fifth, at one point I was about to put my hand in the cure lamp because I couldn't understand what he was saying and he stopped me by freaking out and asking "are you crazy!!". And lastly, the underside of my nails look awful and not cleaned up AT ALL. I will be posting more photos to Yelp along with this review. I will never again set foot at this location. Avoid Ken if you can. He was rude for no reason after I was looking forward to this and he shat all over it. My pedicure with Jimmy was 10/10 which is the only reason why this review isn't only 1 star

I recently moved to a new city and, of course, needed to get my nails done before starting my new job tomorrow. I decided to try a nearby salon called @Nails, which is conveniently within walking distance from home. The facility was very clean, and they even offered a complimentary beverage. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming. It was fairly quiet, but since it was a Monday morning, that was expected. I opted for a regular mani-pedi since I like to test out a new salon before going for anything more elaborate. My technician, Ben, did both services and did a phenomenal job. He shaped and buffed my nails perfectly and helped me choose a great shade of red. Overall, I'm really happy with my experience and will definitely be returning--hopefully, this will become my go-to nail salon!

Other girls and chicky in the cut lurking. Looking sus af. May forget about it at times but when I remember, I'll really remember.

I had such a great experience here! Tori did my manicure and she was amazing -- so attentive and talented. She hand-painted the cutest little pumpkins on my nails for fall and they came out absolutely perfect! You can tell she really loves what she does and pays attention to every detail. Mai did my pedicure and she was just as wonderful -- super gentle, friendly, and gave me one of the best foot massages I've had in a long time. I stopped by @Nails during a visit to SLO and loved my experience. I love the vibe of the salon, it's so inviting and relaxing. My nail technician was Douglas. He was very attentive to my request and picked a nice color for me since I couldn't decide. My whole experience was so relaxing. I love that the salon has complementary drinks and snacks. Kiet the front manager was so sweet to also offer drinks to my sons while they waited for me! I will definitely come every time I'm in SLO! read more

had such a wonderful experience getting a manicure and pedicure @ Nails! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was clean, calm, and welcoming. The staff was so friendly and made me feel right at home. My nail technician was incredibly attentive and detailed--she took her time to shape my nails perfectly and made sure I was happy every step of the way. The foot massage during the pedicure was heavenly, and my feet have never felt softer. I also really appreciated the large selection of polish colors and how hygienic everything was. Michael is incredible! You can bring him just a picture of a colour and he'll match it exactly. You can bring him a picture of nail art and he'll match it exactly. Or you can just tell him an idea of what you'd like and he will come up with something amazing! He has such attention to detail and the pride he takes in his work is so apparent. Update: The owner has now been trying all day to bully me into taking the review down. This has forced me to waste even more time finding the text confirmation for my appointments that day. For the last time, this all happened at the foothill location. @nails is highlighted on the receipt from my credit card company and the text confirmations even show the address on Foothill. That should be enough. The original receipt had sensitive info, so I uploaded again and highlighted that it is from @nails. I have no reason to lie. And whether you get your services from the Foothill location or the one near Costco, the receipt always shows an address on Los osos valley road, not IN Los osos. Again, nice try! You're trying so hard to disprove me but you can't. If only you worked this hard at providing good service!!!) After giving me the flu and ruining my family's entire trip to Canada (because they all got sick too), Management is now trying to wish away this whole experience. The moderators at Yelp made me take down the description of the staff that works there, so I will let the court of public opinion decide whether or not I would waste my precious time describing something that never happened, or take it as a warning that if you go to this location you're going to be uncomfortable and might even get sick because they don't send home workers who have the flu. When the cashier told me he had the flu, an elderly woman getting her nails right next to the cashier stand said, "what did he say?" When I repeated it, her nail tech loudly said "He was joking!" Lies, and now more lies to cover the original lie. End of story. So in addition to everything else, you might also get a called a liar for telling the truth about your experience. Best of luck! Shame on this place! Original post: Several men who work there gathered around while I took my shoes off to get a pedicure and stared while the tech worked on my feet. I said, "is this really the most interesting thing going on in the building?" Honestly how can anyone relax in that environment? The oldest of those gentleman walked by with a dirty look on his face several times after that and when I went to pay, I asked the cashier how his day was going so far. He said not great because he had the flu and felt super sick and just wanted to go home. I asked him why he was at work if he was that sick? He said because the bills don't pay themselves. The next day I went on a trip to Canada and we all got sick. Very unprofessional. For the last time: it happened at your location on foothill. I'm not an idiot, I know where I went that day. If your corporate address is on Los osos valley road, or you're using unprofessional tactics to throw another nail salon under the bus, I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that you pretending that this isn't your business is not ok. STOP contacting me! read more

I live in Morro Bay but we do not have a decent nail salon. Either they are really good and impossible to get an appt, or they are terrible. So I go to this salon and I am very pleased. I make an appt online with my favorite manicurist. Today he went above and beyond! I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he said: I've got you. I take care of you. Ha! So funny! I'm 54 years old and have been getting my very bushy brows waxed since the 6th grade. For the past 10 years, Candice at Brow Therapy has been the ONLY person I trust with my eyebrows. They are coarse, grow in every direction, and have always been a source of insecurity for me. I am incredibly picky, and after many disappointing experiences over the years, I found the brow guru of the California Central Coast in San Luis Obispo. Candice is not only the best eyebrow waxer, tweezer, shaper, and scissor artist I've ever encountered, but she also runs her business with a genuine and humble, no fake BS approach that I absolutely love. She's always on time. Literally come as you are, she's got your brows. Recently, I treated myself to the 40 Minute Brow Experience, and it exceeded every expectation. The slight vibrations through the bed, the sounds through the headphones, and one touch from Candice, took me away so very quickly into a complete state of relaxation. I didn't have to make any effort to quiet my mind. After a year that included a breast cancer diagnosis and surgery, my body has been carrying an enormous amount of stress. For 40 minutes, all of it disappeared. There was no anxiety, no to do list, and no worrying about the future. The person was nice and knowledgeable and explained everything. After 1 session, I noticed results. I went back and another great session. I found out that this person was no longer working there but I still went back for another session. This new person changed the settings and told me to tell them how it is the next time. I didn't notice much results. Then I try to schedule another session and learned that they are only doing laser hair removal on Wednesdays. I couldn't go and had to pause. I eventually called and learned that they have someone full time. I scheduled an appt and went back. It was another new person. I guess she got double booked and was trying to rush me. She even started the laser session without giving me the goggles. Again, she messed with the settings. Not only that, but as I'm going to pay, I learned that the price doubled! I haven't returned since and will probably look to start a new experience elsewhere. Just sucks the money I wasted in this place. It's not cheap getting laser hair removal and some of us can't afford to throw a few hundred to get no results because of new staff or being double booked.

First, she toned it to smurf blue, offered to wash it out, apologized that she didn't understand what I wanted because she mixed my wishes up with all of her other new clients and offered to book an appt to fix it three days later if I paid her. Not surprisingly she then tried to change the time, the day and ultimately cancelled on me because she was sick and told me if I wanted to book a new appt, because she was no longer saying she was fixing it, now it was my poor communication, it would cost me 350 dollars. I have heard other people say bait and switch and that is exactly what I felt.

I couldn't get into my normal place and I was in a rush to get a fill because a few nails were broken and I had very limited time. So I stopped in and thought I would give this place a chance. First problem- I asked how soon they could take me, said they could take me right away. Sat me down but wasn't helped for 15 mins. Second problem- the acrylics had broken off a few nails, so I just wanted acrylic added on top of my real nails because they were really long already so no need for tips. I was told he couldn't do that and that I needed to soak off what nails were left and start fresh. He cut all my nails short added tips and proceeded to start the process. Third problem- he asked what color I wanted and shape. I like round and neutral colors. He proceeded to call me boring to my face and to multiple people around us. He made it a point to say it 5 times, loudly throughout my set. Fourth problem- the acrylic is uneven, he couldn't remember how many coats of gel color were put on, and the way he squeezed my fingers while drilling was almost violent. It was more important to slam the file down on the table in between filing my nails than it was actually shaping them correctly. He kept asking me in an aggressive tone if he was hurting me and if I liked my nails- I kept saying I was fine because he made me so uncomfortable. The sides of my thumbs are bruised from the pressure he was using and my nails are unbelievably sore from the way he was drilling and filing. Needless to say- I learned my lesson not to veer away from my normal place. I'll never be back. Worst experience I've ever had, waste of money, and I'll be soaking these off and getting them redone tomorrow. read more

I have been coming to @ Nails since I moved to the central coast 4 years ago. Every time I come in I feel like they really listen to my likes and dislikes and do whatever they can to make me happy with their work! The atmosphere is one of a kind, it really allows you to relax and enjoy your time being pampered by the staff. I have had my eyebrows waxed here as well as numerous manicures (acrylics, gells, and regular polish) and top notch pedicures and I have never left unhappy. The salon is sparkling clean every time I come in which is a must. They also have a HUGE selection of nail polishes as well as gel colors, and they are open to doing any type of design. I have gone in on numerous occasions and shown them a nail design I found on pinterest and they are able to successfully execute it every time, even adding their own special twists if you'll allow. All of the technicians do a wonderful job and it is evident that they thoroughly enjoy what they are doing. They are respectful of your time and will not make you wait a ridiculously long time. Their new location is amazing. After visiting their other location in the Costco Shopping center I didn't think they could get any better but they proved me wrong! They even have a complimentary Champagne Bar at the new place...does it get any better? I hope you'll consider using @Nails for all of your nail needs...They're amazing. read more

Update.. I received a private message from the "owner" it was just as rude an scathing as the service I received. ................................................................................... I've started using another location you can check my reviews for This place still bothers me thinking of my horrible experiences there... The guy Michael who works there is moody.. Sometimes nice sometimes gruff even rude... My fingers were often cut up and burning sensation... Some of the girls there are nice but I mostly could not find someone to do my nails consistently because it seemed like a lot of new faces I don't know why but they can't keep employees who are not family members ... It's a very cold unfriendly environment. I feel like they are always taking about the customers negatively and laughing.... I see they closed the other location near Costco ... They probably depend on unsuspecting college students... And had to move across town because they couldn't find locals who wanted to keep going there... My recommendation... JENNY JENNY JENNY JENNY!!!!! I just finished getting my nails done about 20 minutes ago and I could not wait to get home and leave a review. I have never left a Yelp review for anything, but I often use the reviews of others to make decisions. I saw that everyone was recommending Jenny and for GOOD reason. Her attention to detail is immaculate, her artistry is unparalleled, and she is a joy to sit with. She did both my manicure (full set) and pedicure, and I know I will be back to see her as soon as my nails begin to grow out in the slightest. She took her time and was gentle while surprising me with nails that match my personality to a T. I had no idea what I wanted when I walked in, but I walked out feeling like I got exactly what I wanted. Not to mention, the foot massage she gave me with my pedicure was dreamy. I am from out of town and I called ahead of time to make an appointment to fix a single nail that had broken. I had an appointment for 4:15pm to fix my one nail that had broke, I arrived at 4:10 and they didn't take me in until 4:40. I made an appointment because I didn't want to sit and wait so I was upset with the wait time. Then I noticed they offered something to drink to the person next to me and they didn't offer me anything. I came with my cousin to my nail appointment and the lady that takes payments and greets at the door told my cousin she could not use the bath because she didn't have a nail appointment, I was so flabbergasted at how bad their customer service was. To top everything else the nail that i went in to get fixed wasn't placed straight, this has been by far the worst service I have ever paid for and the worst customer service I've ever seen. I will never set foot in this establishment ever. Save yourself from a bad experiences and just go elsewhere. read more

I have tried many other salons in SLO, Atascadero, & Paso. I love how much attention is placed on cleanliness and relaxation. I have been going to the location on Los Osos for over a year but recently tried the Foothill location. While the technicians are not always very talkative they are professional and they do a great job (my pedi's last a good three to four weeks). I think the new location is very hip and pretty. It is so nice to be pampered here. I wish they had the TV on the large wall in the Pedi section so I didn't have to turn my head to see the TV. In another salon in Paso they actually show movies so it is a great way to multitask (get your nails done and see a great movie), which alot of us do not have time to do very often. Maybe consider offering this occasionally. read more

I have been going to the original @nails location for years and have always been happy with the service, cleanliness and attention to detail the staff gives when giving a manicure or pedicure. I recently went to their new location on foot hill and was very impressed! A few months ago I moved to AG and have tried a handful of other nail salons closer to my house and even in SLO, but never leave happy. Ti Ti is absolutely the best and my manicure ALWAYS lasts twice as long as any other place I've tried. Yayyyy I am so glad that I went back to have my services done over. Chanh is meticulous with his work. He cleaned up all the dried skin. Polished my fingeresand toes to perfection. I will definitely be booking with him again! I never had to mention or double check what he was doing . I could just tell that he was a professional at what he does. This place is fabulous! They are upbeat, have lots of staff for multiple customers doing manis and pedis. The care they give is phenomenal. Ruby has been my nail lady twice and shes so fun and creative! You have to see her! She will listen to what you want and do it just right or if you want to be adventurous, she can do that too!!! Been coming here for years but today was just awesome! Michael is fantastic and an artist! He did an amazing job on my nails! Extra special vacation nails!! He listens to everything I want and gives input when I'm unsure what I want. I'm a loyalist and since I've been coming to Michael I've never been disappointed so you can believe I'll be back just for him. I book my appointment ahead of time to ensure I get him! I had a mixed opinion about coming to this location. I've had really good and really bad experiences at the last one, but this location is close to my house so I figured why not. The inside is HUGE and flawless. It's so clean and well put together and the nail polish selection is GORGEOUS! I went to Ben and described what I wanted and he did it without fail, even constantly checking if I liked it the whole time. I don't write reviews at all but Ben deserves it! Just had an amazing experience at @Nails with Tori Choi! I went in for a gel manicure and decided to try the NEW GEL BUILDER service--it was fantastic. Tori was so gentle and precise, making sure my nails looked flawless. The salon is super spacious, which added to the relaxing atmosphere.
