The restaurant is at the end of a strip mall and next to tebo tea house. I ordered #18 mi ga kho and it game with a dipping sauce for the chicken as well as a sauce that you can add to the dry noodle if you want more flavor. The dipping sauce was awesome and the chicken was cooked nicely (dark meat is an extra 0.75), the egg noodle sauce was a bit salty for me. My bf ordered the pho ga and said it was okay. Good food, HORRIBLE service. I came in on a Sunday and it was a full house and they only had two waiters on the floor. My friends and I literally waited 30 minutes for our food. When you check In yelp, you get a free soda. The menu offered sprite, pepsi, root beer, etc. but for some reason, they only had Pepsi left, that was no biggie so we just ordered the Pepsi. And what he brought out to us was diet Pepsi, the waiter could have at least told us it was a diet Pepsi in advance. ON TOP OF THAT, the diet Pepsi can was expired on September 2013, that's FOUR months expired. Good thing my friend checked underneath the can or else we wouldn't have known. They brought us utensils in a basket, MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN IT because the forks were dirty as hell. I was beyond grossed out. We had to ask for chopsticks instead. I came in expecting to have a good experience here because I was referred here by a coworker, I came out disappointed. This is the best com ga plate in town. I hate to deal will bony food but the chicken here is free of bone. The food is very tasty and the chicken is super duper. The price is affordable and there are all kind of chicken plate and bowl. Pho ga is as good as com ga nam an. This really gives me a hard time on deciding what to eat because I want all of the food here. Lol:))). Great chicken dishes 4/5 stars. Chicken is always moist. You can also ask them to customize your dish like dark meat or white meat chicken... Skinless or with. Price: 4/5 stars Service: 1/5 stars. The servers are really slow and forgetful. They are oftentimes really cheap when it comes to keeping the A/C on because the place was packed and super hot until i couldn't stand it anymore and turned it on myself. This happened to me many times. They also need to hire bus boys to clean up tables. The waiters have to clean, order, and tend to the tables at the same time which is very inefficient and slow. Dirty dishes often sit out for way longer than it needs to be and attract flies. Food takes forever to comes out so be prepared to wait. read more

I've long been a fan of hainan style chicken and have been looking for a great local spot to eat it. This is definitely my new com ga place. The owner Sean was really nice and personable. Call me old school, but I like restaurants where the owner hangs out and helps customers. He took the time to explain the difference between the sauces. He also recommended putting giblets in the soup for $1.25 extra, which was really good. I will definitely be coming back for more. I just left, but I'm already craving the giblet soup. read more

They have the best boneless chicken in town. My wife and I come here very often over the pass few years. We either order the pho ga or the com ga. They're both delicious every time. I'd say the portion could be a little bigger. Also, the parking is horrible where they're at, but that's not a fault of their own. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Food was great, not so much for service. After delivering our food, they never checked up on us again. That made it hard for us to get refill on our water especially since we drink a lot of water. It was also hard to ask for a to go box and our check because they simply never looked our way or seemed to notice us. Also, I wish they would clean their door... I've been coming here since it first opened since my hair stylist is in the same center. I really like how they will debone the chicken for you as well taking the skin off. You can't go wrong with the original chicken and rice (#1). They also have the option of white meat only, dark meat only or both which is fantastic. It comes with three different sauces as well as a soup. My husband loves their lemongrass chicken with crispy rice. Their pho ga is ok--not that impressive but if your there to eat then it's all about their rice dishes. Hence the name of the restaurant, lol. The pho ga here is pretty decent. Some of my other favorites include the chicken and rice and xoi ga which comes slightly burnt and crunchy. I had an overall somewhat disappointing experience. I had high hopes going in because this was a new spot with good (though only a few) reviews and had a clean, modern setting. It did take over a former favorite Hue restaurant of mine though, so I was expecting it to be a worthy replacement. Visited around 2p on a Sat., and the place was mostly empty and awkwardly quiet. It did fill up half full by the time we left. Service initially was fast but definitely had a bunch of misses. Ordered the Com Ga Nam An (steamed Hainanese chicken with rice) and Xoi Ga Xao Xa Ot (grilled lemongrass chicken with sticky rice) and 2 soda chanh (lemonade soda). Service fail 1- they brought out the grilled chicken dish with rice instead of sticky rice. Fail 2- the dish came by itself without our other dish and before utensils and paper placemats were brought out. The steamed chicken dish came out about 5m later so we shared the grilled chicken plate so that it wouldn't get cold. I didn't notice that there was rice instead of sticky rice at first, so when the 2nd dish also came with regular rice, I requested a swap for the missing sticky rice. He said he would bring me a side of sticky rice instead of swapping it out. That was nice, but the sticky rice took almost 10m to come out. I was getting pissy from waiting, so after close to 10m, I just dug into the rice on the current plate. By the time the sticky rice came out, we were almost done with the meal. Spotty service (though semi-friendly) - 2.5 stars Now onto the food: Com Ga Nam An - 2.5 stars. It's just steamed chicken on a plate with rice. The meat was pretty cold. The portion was so small, so at $7.95 a plate, this may be the first time I felt ripped off at a Vietnamese restaurant. The portion was about the size of my small hand and just as thick too. There was barely anything there, and half of it was gristly, red/near bloody or fatty. They give you soooo much rice though. It's about a 4:1 ratio. The rice was good, because it is cooked in the chicken broth, I believe. That gave it a nice rich flavor. Rice 3.5 stars, chicken 2 stars, overall 2.5 stars. Xoi/com Ga Xao Xa Ot - 4 stars for flavor, 3 stars for portion. They also use all dark meat here, so it can be gristly. The flavor was really good though. I ate what was left of it with some sticky rice when it came out and the combo was good. The best part of the meal was the nuoc cham (fish sauce/ginger dipping sauce). They give you 4 dipping sauces: a basic soy sauce one, the fish sauce ginger one, a black soy sauce vinegar? one, and an oil with ginger and scallion. The fish sauce one was the best, and I just enjoyed dipping the sticky rice in that and eating it plain. The 2 drinks were free which was a good surprise. They have a Yelp check-in offer for free soda, but I missed that and didn't show it to them. I honestly don't think I'll return. The meal was fine, but there were more things I was unhappy about than happy about. I'd rather go to Pho Bolsa and get a huge plate of meaty leaner chicken that I can dip into their fish sauce/ginger dipping sauce and eat it with rice or pho. It's less money and a way bigger portion, more white meat, and just as much flavor. You just don't get the cleaner modern setting, but I don't need to pay for that if my food is good. Not worth $$, I ordered com ga nam an (#1 in the menu) and a drink. I came here before when it grand opened, they gave out much more food, and quality was much better. Now they give less rice, and less chicken. For a dish almost 10$ plus tax, it felt like 6$ quality. I rather spend that money on something more satisfying. eating chicken dishes always just feel 'lighter' to me. chicken is also my favorite protein. so naturally, my bf and i ended up here. this place is located in the big plaza with tebo tebo, hot pot city, and Q something tea. the place is very spacious! my bf and i were seated immediately and he ordered the #1 which is basically their rice + hainan chicken dish, while i went for #3, the lemon grass chicken with sticky rice. the guy asked me if i wanted it crispy, so i of course agreed -- who could resist such crunch? as you can see in the photos others have posted, it's a good sized meal. the meals both came with bowl of hot broth and small side salads on the plate. the soups were piping hot and full of flavor, but felt light and easy on the stomach. each entree comes with its own set of dipping sauces. the sweet, garlicky sauce that came with the lemon grass chicken was AMAZING. i smothered each piece of chicken in that bowl of sauce. the sauces for my bf's entree was okay --- the orange one was spicy, but he compared it to beloved Savoy and said it wasn't the same. however, he did really appreciate that the piece of hainan chicken was deboned, which made it easier to eat. the lemon grass chicken had subtle hints of lemon grass, just enough so that it wasn't overpowering. the crispy rice was slightly crispy on the edges, but still soft and chewy on the inside, which i loved. it went really well with the chicken. service was...typical of a vietnamese place haha. our table was never revisited after the food came out, but when we went to the register to pay, they did ask us how the food was. also, like another reviewer pointed out, nobody told us there was an extra fee to get your rice made crispy. kinda ridiculous that there is such a charge, and even more ridiculous that we weren't told and i didn't see any mention of it on the menu. i love getting the crispy rice dishes (com nuong) at luc dinh ky and there's no extra charge for a little frying oil, haha. for our two dishes + (free) waters, our total was $19.xx. anyone who lives around this area knows this is pretty steep for viet food....i just bought chicken at the market for 2.99/lb so i know chicken is not thaaaaaaat expensive, haha. would consider coming back because it was tasty, but wouldn't be a regular. read more

My friend recommend this place for pho ga so I stop by and try it after the gym one day. Their pho is not that great, I would not recommend it to other people. However, I think their chicken is good. I would have given them a higher review because Pho is not their specialty, but the portion is smaller than I expected when compare to the area they are in. This is unsatisfying. when They only have one size it seems and it's a petite pho, though they charge like it's a large. Still not expensive when compare to American restaurant, but lacking when compare to Vietnamese restaurants in the area. read more

Food here was very flavorful and healthier than other options in the area. The soups are super sweet and you know that it is from the cooking process not MSG! Delicious! The restaurant is very clean and modern. staff is super friendly and seem to genuinely care if you are enjoying your meal. The grilled lemongrass chicken with crispy sticky rice was excellent and the chicken cabbage salad was delicious. The chicken is already de-boned so you don't have to fight with the bones, you can choose white or dark meat and skin or skinless options are available as well. I ordered 1 whole chicken. The price on menu is $17. The woman owner (I guess) charged me $19. I told her it's 17 as shown in the menu. She said the price was increase but they have not fixed menu. I come here a lot for lunch and dinner. It's one of my favorite restaurant in OC. The ambience is open, clean, and modern. I really love their Xoi Ga Ap Xa. It's not on the menu, so ask for it when you go there. I don't know how they do it but the chicken is boneless, fresh, and really tender. Pretty much my favorite hainan chicken rice place in OC/LA so far. The sticky+crispy chicken rice option for #4 is my absolute favorite. Also, I love that the chicken has actual chicken taste and texture and isn't some tasteless artificially inflated chicken meat so many restaurants use. It's leaner and far better tasting. read more

Needs improvement. They charge way too much for a few pieces of chicken and a huge mound of bland tasting rice. Chicken broth was practically flavorless as well. Out of the three sauces I liked the soy sauce the most. Yes you read that right, soy sauce. The sweet fish sauce was just too mild for my liking and the oily minced ginger was almost gelatinous. what to order: #3 lemongrass with chicken tip: check bill before paying! I was really skeptical about the service after reading all the reviews but I had a good experience! The restaurant is pretty spacious with a minimalist feel/decor. First let me say that chicken is my least favorite protein. I don't like dry white meat nor do I like seeing all the veins, tendons and bones when eating chicken. BUT this place is great!! Entrees are de-boned and can be served without skin too. This is like the chicken restaurant of my dreams! My boyfriend and I ordered the #3 which is the lemon grass chicken with rice. The dish comes with a good portion of rice but it's not plain rice!! It's cooked with butter or something, you can totally taste it. So it's not as healthy as I like. I like that it comes with cucumber and tomato slices, pickled sliced onions and a side soup. The lemon grass chicken is really good, I liked their fancy Maggi tasting sauce too. We were about 3/4 into our meal when I realized they forgot to give us soup. The owner (I'm assuming, it was an old Asian man) was apologetic and brought out the soup for us. Meal came out to be $20 for two, with tip. Which is expensive for a restaurant in Bolsa, but it's pretty good and I'll be back. read more
