Nam Phuong is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in all of Atlanta. You just can not find better. The food is always delicious and the service is friendly and fast. Your food will come fast and hot. My favorite to get is the family dinner for 4. As for the soup, get the shrimp: my opinion it's better than the fist. The shaking beef, catfish casserole are solid choices. The chicken wings are fabulous, the sweet and tangy sauce is perfect. I was in Atlanta for 3 days and ate here 2 times. Just can get enough of the food here, simply the best.
We came here for some delicious food la on our tour along Beaufort Highway. This was stop number one. I got some spring rolls, rice cubes, crepes and some noodles. Everything we got was fantastic. I never knew places like this could be affiliated with Michelin star, but they were! I'd love to go back to try the Pho!
Absolutely delicious! I had family in town for work so we wanted to find something close to his hotel and this place came highly recommended. We decided on spring rolls, shaking beef, and vermicelli noodles. The spring rolls were so fresh with just the perfect amount of herbs to really bring out the flavors. The shaking beef was a recommendation from our server and it did not disappoint. The vermicelli noodles were really good, but we didn't realize it was a cold dish. Watching everyone around us getting pho gave us a bit of fomo, but decided we'll have to come back for it another time. Service is so great. The food comes out quick, everyone is so friendly, the restaurant has such a warm atmosphere and all the guests were visibly enjoying as well. If you're in the area and looking for pho, go give this place a try!
I've been here a couple of times and always get the chicken pho (which is sooo good); but today I decided to try their vermicelli noodles and I'm so glad I did! I got the BBQ pork and it was delicious, the meet was well seasoned, the portion works great and the whole dish was pretty good. Even when the place was busy, our food came in time. The staff here is always very welcoming and they answer questions about the menu. The restaurant is comfortable, casual and relaxed. If you're in Buford Highway, visit this place for lunch
Came by on a Saturday around 11 and there was no wait. Service is attentive and quick. We ordered the special pho and special vermicelli. The food was fine but we both thought they were too salty - the soup for the pho and the meat toppings with my noodles. After adding fish sauce it helped the noodles be less dry but there wasn't much additional flavor. It could be that they are catering more towards western palates with their Michelin Guide distinction.
First time getting Vietnamese food and it was great. Had the bot chien and the pho with moist brisket. The bot chien was unlike anything I've had before. It is fried rice patty that is cute into cubes. The texture reminded me of fish, very soft gelatinous inside with a fried crunchy outside. The pho was wonderful, very light broth and the brisket was tender. They give you plenty of cilantro, lime, bean sprouts along with some nice sauces to add, like some chili sauce. Service was a little slow along with getting one of our dishes served first for our party of two and the other coming out 5 minutes later. They are very busy so it is understandable that they lose track with everything going on. I would love to come back and try many other things as the menu is full of delicious looking options.
I'm surprised that it took me so long to try this place - it is so good! We came in for dinner and we were promptly seated. A server got us chilled water and handed us menus. Now, the menu is exhaustive - there are SO MANY options. We, eventually, got the summer rolls, shrimp in curry and coconut milk and chicken fried rice. The main courses are generous! The shrimp was so good - that curry tasted delicious. 10/10 recommend.
Some of the best Vietnamese I've ever had (and I used to live in Asia)! Big big fan of the combo options - my vermicelli bowl came with an egg roll, some chicken, a couple shrimp, and sausage. All were delicious. Super filling, big portions. It seems like it's usually pretty busy, but there are plenty of tables and service is speedy. Def recommend and will be back to try more.
Normally, I love Nam Phuong as I go to for a nice bowl of pho. On this visit, I noticed they had new bowls that were very shallow and a lot less content. Very little noodles and meat to match. I can understand the price increase over the years to keep cost constant, but now with these new bowls I feel like a victim of shrink inflation. Not sure if I'll be back. I am truly sad.
4.5 overall, very nice restaurant compared to other Vietnamese restaurants with solid pho, but I think it is their other dishes that make them stand out! We ordered the build your own pho, shaken beef, and pork and shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls came first and were very fresh, I really enjoyed these. The pho itself was good but not much better compared to other pho I've had, the broth was decently flavorful and there was a generous portion of rice noodles. If anything, the noodle texture stood out as they remained chewy for a while before getting soggy, which was pleasant. The shaken beef however really stood out! The wok sear on the beef gave it a nice flavor, and surprisingly the fried rice it came with was light but also had an addictive flavor. I really enjoyed this dish! The interior is very spacious and much nicer compared to other Vietnamese restaurants, and the service was good. Overall solid food with their other dishes, like the shaken beef, that really stand out!!!

Overall: what an authentic feeling vietnamese restaurant in Atlanta/Buford Highway! Food: we got a Vietnamese coffee made to order with the drip into the condensed milk. Incredibly strong imo but I don't drink coffee that much. The spring rolls were refreshing and light in flavor. The peanut sauce was very standard to go with it. The highlight were the chicken wings in fish sauce. Very unique! You get these flabbergasted wings cooked nice and crispy. Then they're glazed with fish sauce and soy sauce and loaded with umami. The chicken themself were incredibly juicy and very clean tasting. Ambience/Decor/Service: they had a decent amount of people in the restaurant already by noon indicating it's a popular spot! I came here on a Tuesday at 6:30 pm to find a majority of their booths full with the center tables still available. Luckily I was still able to snag one of their last booths as soon after, the whole restaurant was full. I ordered their 93. Canh Chua which was only offered in one size with a side of white rice. My friend got their beef loc lac which came with fried rice on the side. My broth was super flavorful and filled with all the fixings including the soft white fish, tomato wedges, celery, eggplant stem, and even some okra which was a unexpected southern twist. Topped with the fried garlic, I was so happy with my choice. The beef was also yummy caramelized in their viscous, salty, and sweet sauce. Presentation for both dishes were top notch. Overall, I had a perfect experience in their casual and comfortable environment. The staff were beyond attentive and punctual with even the owner and chef continuously checking in on us! They even provide suggestions and all the items you need to thoroughly enjoy their meals in a traditional manner. Food was delicious so I am looking forward to the next opportunity to come back as it was clearly a local favorite with the amount of business they already receive on a random weekday. read more

Vietnamese restaurants are famously known for their delicious Pho! We wanted to explore other dishes from one of the authentic venues in the Atlanta area. Service was really good and the ambiance was nice. They were super busy. The food was really good and filling. read more

This place is SO GOOD. It lived entirely to the hype that I had built for myself. The only downsides was the parking. Since this place is so popular, it is busy on a Saturday night. However, we got lucky as someone was leaving as we were pulling up. The wait looks like it's long since the line was outside of the door, but they sat our group of five within 15 minutes. As you can expect, it can be loud inside. It doesn't feel crowded as the tables are reasonably spaced apart. The wait staff is great too! I got the bun rieu and vietnamese crepe, and my fiancé got the shaking beef. Others in my group got seafood, beef, and chicken pho. We also got shrimp spring rolls. All of us enjoyed the meals thoroughly. My favorite was the bun rieu with crab meat. I pretty much finished it even though it's such a big bowl. My fiancé loved the shaking beef. We went to an expensive, high end Vietnamese restaurant for our anniversary last year, and he said this was MUCH BETTER. I am Vietnamese, and I love this restaurant since it has a more diverse menu of Vietnamese dishes than the ones in the area. The members in my party also deemed this as their favorite Vietnamese restaurant and were even jealous of my bun rieu since they got their usual pho. Of course, they still loved the pho. I look forward to my next visit here! read more

people have been telling me about this place for years. dare i say best vietnamese cuisine in the entire city. this is my favorite restaurant. they go above and beyond every time, even when cars and people are lined up to get a table, they seat with urgency and even with the high volume, the food is perfect every time. read more
This place isn't as good as people raved about back in the day. I didn't get to take a picture of everything but we ordered a family meal. Some of my favorites were the lotus root salad and,the catfish in a clay pot! Both were so flavorful and just reminded me of the motherland. The catfish was the best that I've had in soo long. Definitely was not disappointing at all. Lotus root salad is one of my all time favs, it's definitely hard to mess it up, but I can eat that all day everyday The egg rolls were probably one of the worse I've ever tried. They tasted super old as they haven't changed out their frying oil in awhile. The fried shrimp was way too salty. The hot and sour soup was good but I do not care for the excessive celery. And the shaking beef was just ok. They forgot one of our entrees. The service was non existent but that's typical in a Vietnamese restaurant. The AC is always broken so you want to avoid going when it's extremely hot outside or it you just don't like being hot don't eat here. My comfort food and restaurant! I love the food, especially Pho. The Pho is tasty. A lots of meat choices. I absolutely love beef. The portion is big enough. And The price is not expensive too. The family meal is 100% the biggest bang for your buck. Overall, most items were decent but a few can be overwhelmingly sweet -- such as the sweet and sour soup, which was overtly sugary without any tamarind flavor. The caramelized fish was likewise very syrupy and could have benefited from a bit more fish sauce. My favorite dishes from the family meal had to be the shaking beef and stir fried water spinach. The sauce from the shaking beef was very rich and flavorful and the spinach was a yummy way to get more fiber! read more

I visit my boyfriend frequently, and each time I come, he brings me to Nam Phuong, his favorite Vietnamese spot in Atlanta area. I've been now maybe 4-5 times. The food is consistently good and the staff are super nice. There is plenty of seating inside, however, parking can be tight, tricky, and hard to find in the small lot. Today I went with my boyfriends mom and we kept it simple: pork spring rolls, BBQ pork Bun, and soft egg noodle stir fry with beef. The food here is full of flavor and their portions are large- i always have left overs to bring home. I didn't get it today but their papaya salad and pork satay are both soooo good too. This Vietnamese restaurant is definitely worth going to read more

Trying to come up with one word to describe my experience at Nam Phuong in Buford is pretty difficult, all I can say is "me and my hubs went in on this food" lol. It was great and is definitely on the list of our repeats next time we go to Atlanta. We ordered the family style for 2 at 39.99 and this included eggrolls, salad appetizer with shrimp, rice, canh chua, ca kho to, and jelly desert. This is such an excellent deal and it was surely filling for two people. The dishes were served family style and all the flavors hit just right, no complaints on the dishes, tasted just like home cooked Vietnamese cooking. We then went the extra step as we were hungry and ordered the ginger and scallion lobster (which is definitely a must try! Promise ya won't regret it) and it was $31/lb. For our entree pictured here, this was at $40. We also ordered the rau mong (water spinach) which was flavorful and cooked just right. Service was attentive and quick. Our server was checking in on us and gave us everything we needed on time. The ambiance is a typical hustling and bustling Asian restaurant, loud and yes you want that). We came here on a Friday evening at 7 pm and parking was pretty packed, we waited around for people to leave. read more

Saw all the rave reviews so we had to come to try the food, and it didn't disappoint! The menu is diverse and the portion sizes are large, the service is quick (we also didn't have to wait too long for a table), and the food is tasty! I don't know too much about the authenticity since I've never been to Vietnam, but 2 of the people I went with said the broth and composition of the pho was well done and similar to other really good Vietnamese restaurants in other cities! I didn't expect too much from the bot chien app (rice cake cubes) but I almost think it was my favorite thing that we ate, and of course the pho was good too! Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu! read more

I was craving Bo Luc Lac and this was THE BEST that I had ever had. It was my first time here and it definitely won't be the last. When we went this place was packed but the staff served everyone as quickly and accurately as possible. I think everyone should give this place a try! read more

Got the Dinner for 2 with Spring Rolls, Hot and Spicy Soup with shrimp, Spare Ribs - and for an up charge got Shaken Beef also. Food was amazing, Michelin recommended Shaken beef, and did not disappoint. Spare ribs stole the show, and pouring the sauce from the spare ribs onto the steamed rice really set the rice off. Service was outstanding, glass was never empty, servers were always kind and courteous. The restaurant is as noisy as the guests - I don't recall any music playing, just the chatter of the full restaurant. A must try if you are in the area, very reasonably priced and worth so much more. read more

Vegan fish sauce?
Nam Phuong doesn’t have vegan/vegetarian options for fish sauce but they do have sweet soy sauce that pairs with crispy rice cubes, and goes really well with vegetarian dishes, especially rice vermicelli or crepe
Hi what is the charge for BYOB?
I was not charged. It is wonderful too. The group next to me had about 15 people and they said on of the reasons they fine here was the low charge byob. They had beer and wine. $3-5.
