So after never trying this place in all these years I finally tryed it a couple weeks ago and have been there 6 times since then! It's just the go to spot right now it's close it's cheap and it's delicious I always go with the BBQ grilled pork over rice! And honestly it's the best I've had it's so full of flavor! My son always orders there wonton noodle soup with egg noodles and it's always yummy as well! I get him the large so I can eat off of his bowl! I've also tryed there pho and again very tasty!! I wouldn't go as far as saying they have the best pho ever but it's yummy and comes at a good price! I've been here a couple times now and wow they have really good food. The menu is quite large so a little hard to pick. They have Chinese food and Pho. Both times I went I had a soup of some kind. It is a large bowl of which I couldn't finish. They have a large selection of drinks including smoothies and boba. I am looking forward to trying one on a future trip and to experience more of the menu. With so few great places in Spanish Springs I'm glad this place is here. 20/2 read more

The chicken pho is delicious but I think they switched their potstickers to a cheaper alternative and it just hasn't been the same. The potstickers are hard and taste like the frozen potsticker pack from the 99 cent store. They pick and choose when they want to be open and it's a waste of time. The food here has so much flavor. Unlike any other place in reno. The Pho bowls had a lot of everything inside the broth not just more broth less food. Customer service is also in point. I would have given this place 4 stars, if it weren't for an extremely rude employee I dealt with today. I have been coming to this location for 2 years. Since I became pregnant, I have been frequenting it more often, between 2-4 times a month. I usually get the crab puffs and the shrimp springs rolls with a honey dew boba milk tea. This time I just came in for a boba. I looked at the menu for a second but decided to stick with what I always get, the honey dew milk tea, extra boba. She took my order, I paid, and tipped $1. A different person made the tea than took my order. I left with my tea, tasted it and realized it was just honey milk tea. Not honey dew. No problem, not upset it was an honest mistake. I came back in and I told the girl who made it what happened. She had this look on her face like sorry too bad. She didn't say anything but just stared at me, I said is there a problem? Do you not want to fix it? She said sorry no refunds or exchanges. I said, but I ordered the honey dew , not the honey. She said well we both heard you say "honey". I said well I did but I said honey dew. I said, it's ok I'll talk to the person I ordered it from. So I went to the front and waited but she wasn't there. The other woman came back up to me and insisted I said "honey" again. I told her obviously I was heard incorrectly, I wouldn't have said that as I never ordered it and didn't even know they made a plain honey one and I didn't like it. She BEGRUDGINGLY made me a new one and was completely rude the entire time with this scowl on her face, made it quickly, not even well and set it down without a word. SO RUDE REALLY?? read more

Ordered their beef combo Pho with egg noodles. The broth was very bland a little like soy soup. The egg noodles was soggy not fresh. Told my server the broth was very bland. She said "most people like it bland" I told her the broth was not tasty like beef broth. She did nothing about it. Don't know why the food has gone from good to terrible in just a few short months. My grilled pork had a slightly off taste and several of us ordered a bun bowl with pork and eggroll - which at every other Vietnamese restaurant in Reno means flame grilled pork in the bowl and an eggroll on the side - but here means an eggroll with pork in it, no meat in the bowl. I revisited the Nam Van Noodle Cafe in Spanish Springs. The Noodle Cafe is what it is, nothing fancy, but serves comfort food from  Viet Nam and China, and a great assortment of smoothies and boba drinks. I was nursing a sore throat and I just wanted some chicken broth and dumplings. I ordered Jasmine tea and a large bowl of Won Ton Soup with pork dumplings. The tea surprisingly had very little taste, but the hot elixir helped in soothing my body offering short bursts of relief to my sore throat. The soup arrived and it was full of dumplings, thinly sliced onions, chopped spring onions and a sprinkle of cilantro. Just what the doctor ordered! It was prepared in a simple, basic way a Won Ton soup should be. More relief for my worn-out body and a great uplift for my soul. This was the right choice and I fixated on that bowl of soup for the next 15 minutes until I was scraping the bottom of the bowl with my spoon. I walked tall and spirited as I left the restaurant. Drove out here from South Reno in search of some bubble tea. Once I got here, I realized I couldn't use my card for under $10, so I ended up staying for dinner. The General chicken combination was mouthwatering, and a great deal for only $9 + change. It came generously portioned with an egg roll, my choice of white or fried rice (I went fried), and chow mein. I had plenty to eat for dinner AND lunch the next day. I finally had the opportunity to check out Nam Van Noodle Cafe the other day. I blame my extreme craving that day on the Yelp Far East event the day before, but at least I had a place in mind to take care of my need. I ordered an order of Shrimp and Pork Spring Roll and a small bowl of Shrimp Pho with rice noodles. It was definitely not small and neither were the two quite large spring rolls. The spring rolls were just right. I especially loved them with just a tiny bit of the sauce on each bite. It was perfect. These were also soft while never falling apart. Often elsewhere they are either chewy or falling all over the place. The Shrimp Pho was really good, too. I am on a huge rice noodle kick lately, actually for about two months now, but I have never actually had Pho before. I'm sure that I was doing it wrong...lol...but it tasted amazing. I decided that I need to return with someone who knows what they are doing, so I can learn the best way to prepare mine and also to eat it easier and correctly. Nobody else in the restaurant that late afternoon was having Pho, so I got no help there. When I broke down and asked my server how to do it best, she just said, "I don't know. I use chopsticks." I imagined that if I had any, it would have probably turned out worse, so I went back to my "special" techniques....lol I will definitely be returning, because it is extremely tasty, relatively close to my home, and at a great price. First time trying Noodle cafe and it was a HIT!!! Tried the Szechuan chicken. Which tasted wonderful and not too spicy or tangy. White rice cooked to perfection. Chicken chow mein was fantastic with thick noodles. Crab Rangoon fell a little flat on taste but LOTS of crab which made up for it in my opinion. Shrimp Pho was spot on. Hot broth. Fresh crispy sprouts. Beautiful basil sprigs and cilantro leaves. Lime and thin egg noodles. Shrimp were cooked to perfection. The side addition of Sriracha packets added just the right amount spice. Ok time to update! I don't know why I gave them 4 stars before. I've been here maybe a handful of times whenever I'm in the Sparks galleria area. And I have never been disappointed. Even the service is great. The little Asian girl that greets you is the nicest person ever. I got the BBQ pork with rice and it comes with fresh sliced cucumbers and pickled cabbage, bell pepper and carrots. That on its own is so yummy when you eat it with a bite of the rice and pork. I'm not sure if everyone knows that's the reason why it comes with all that. Because they want you to eat the rice and pork or whatever meat and take a fresh bite of the veggie. Not trying to toot my own horn, but Asian people are food geniuses. It reminds me of my own culture. Why do you think with our food they give you a little bowl of rice with your main dish, meat, fish whatever tofu. And then all those little crunchy veggie goodies on the side. It's a condiment, that compliments the food your eating. Hello kimchi!!! It goes great with everything. So the cucumber and pickled veggies are like the kimchi for us. Anyway. Also got the pork egg rolls. Not sure if it had pork inside of it, but it was still good. Husband got the noodle wonton soup. Very good and flavorful even when I can barely taste because I'm so sick. Since I live out in Sun Valley now, I've been here a few more times. The spring rolls I think have garlic in them, I like those enough to continue getting them. This place is most often dirty though. My most recent visit, I ordered a small rare steak pho, and when it was brought out, there were 5 strings (not slices) of rare steak with some jalapenos, basil and lime. I asked about the bean sprouts, and they were out... would have been nice if she informed me as I would have changed my order. This place works in a pinch, but there are much better options around (SK Noodle for instance). I will come back for spring rolls to-go though, but I don't foresee spending much on anything else, unless I'm desperate for pho. read more

The desert crepes are yummy. The boba is really sweet and delicious. My take on the food is that you have to be there on the right day and time to get the freshest food. However the pho is excellent.
