"This is really good" repeated by the husband as he was trying everything and I 100% agree. Had the vegetable pakoras- crispy and flavorful. Best chicken curry (medium) husband has ever had. Vegetable Malai- mild- buttery cream sauce. Gobi Manchurian- a bit saltier than I would have preferred but aromatic and incredibly flavorful. Thought we'd try this place after reading the Yelp reviews. We both ordered 3 item combo -- we got to taste six different dishes. It was all good! The paneer, chili chicken and curry chicken were our favorites. Garlic nan is big portion size. However, we both agreed the garlic needed to have a stronger punch. If they perfect this, it would be simply amazing!! I must say the food portion size was very generous for the price point. Dave served us and was very friendly personable. Not a lot of indian restaurants in the area so happy to see another. Unfortunately there's nothing special about this newest one. The pricing is similar to Naan Cafe and the food tastes similar. The chicken Tikka masala tastes almost exactly the same as Naan Cafe. The channa masala is ridiculously salty and they need to dial that back. Portion sizes are OK but if you get saag paneer you get like 2 pieces of paneer and mostly saag. Same with the meat, a couple pieces of meat and mostly sauce. Naan cafe definitely gives you more heaping food. The rotating hot dishes are a nice touch and seem fresh. However they lack any spice or heat whatsoever. You can't customize it so you're getting mostly oily and bland flavored Indian food. The checkout experience is interesting. There are literally coupons for $5 off $25 next to the register but the cashier/owner never mentions it and you'll see it once you've already paid. There's also a 3% credit card junk fee that seems to be tacked on if you pay by card that's not mentioned anywhere when you go to pay either. Why is this necessary? Just raise your menu prices to include card fees dude. On the flip side the place looks clean and welcoming. Honestly you're better off just going to naan cafe if you're in the area. Nothing worth while pulling into here besides a direct comparison to their Long beach location that has higher menu prices than here. You can order per item or they have 1, 2, and 3 item combo plates for fairly cheap. I've been here twice and both times ordered a 3 item combo plate for $14 before tax. It comes with two sides which I ordered rice and garlic naan. The naan is made fresh to order. I've tried the saag, aloo gobi, chicken tikka masala, and vegetable korma. Vegetable korma is usually my favorite at Indian places but I've only have a handful of places that do it to my liking and this restaurant is now of these places. The Aloo Gobi is a good balance of potatoes and cauliflower whereas other places I've been to usually give me mostly potatoes. read more

I got the chicken tikka masala, saag, and chili chicken. I believe the owner helped me with my food, who was kind and provided quick service during my visit. Side note: I get Indian food once in a while and Naan Cafe has been my go-to for fast casual Indian food in the area. I chose this place for the good reviews and the pricing seemed fair and they offer the combination plates where you can choose 1, 2 or 3 dinner entrees as a combination plate. I attempted to order online and the dinner combinations were not listed as an option. I then called to order the dinner combinations over the phone and ordered my choices of items and were told that they were not available. I asked if there was a list I could see of options that they would honor for the combination and there was none available. It seemed inefficient and arbitrary and overall the experience was inefficient and frustrating. I hope they fix their online ordering or produce a list of items that you can choose from for their combination plates. read more

My friend kept talking about this place and calling it a buffet, so I didn't want to go. But then when my other friend, who is very much a foodie like me, suggested it and explained it wasn't a buffet, I was all in. There is a hot bar that they serve you from if you like. It is not self service. It has the specials for the combos and I believe you can order anything on it as a single. The combos are great, 2 item for $12 and it comes with rice, naan (plain or garlic, get the garlic), and a refillable fountain drink. 3 items for $15. There is also a full menu they will prepare for you as typical dining out. The food is fantastic and the people working are so kind. They are very considerate when you ask for a to go box they even have thick foil to wrap up the leftover bread. 2 items and you won't be hungry, 3 and you'll have leftovers for later. I have tried the saag paneer, the chicken tikka masala, the chili chicken, and the mushroom masala. Every time I go back I get the chili chicken and chicken tikka masala. My husband got the kabobs and they were very good too. The restaurant itself is welcoming and very clean. Restroom was spotless! This place is hidden in plain sight and a treasure.
