Originally I was told that it has occurred on other vehicles and that it should be covered by Hyundai warranty but after a new one was ordered and installed the service dept reneged on their statement.... Let me start by saying that 2021 is not a good year for used car purchases, inventories are low everywhere and pricing is high. We came here to buy an used car and ended up receiving more than a car! Not sharing upfront, we've already received a good price via email, after learned about my husband's illness and it's his wish to buy our daughter's first car while he can, Jimmie came forward to help. With limited resources and a tight budget, we had been turned down by more than 20 dealers/sellers but it didn't bother us because we know there is someone out there will answer. We ended up at Napleton Hyundai of Glenview, not only we got a 2007 Honda CR-V for our daughter within our budget but also we received hope, a hope that leads my husband to believe everything will be ok regardless the outcome of our challenge in life because we live in a beautiful world with warm hearted people. Even a single star is undeserved for this dealer. The engine on my car died and had to get it repaired. Thankfully it was covered under warranty but the way employees handle this problem and how they treat me is unforgettable and unpleasant. 1. As soon as I walk in, employees give me a down look even before any interaction. Maybe I looked too young to walk into the dealership? That is the only guess. 2. I admit I was frustrated when I spoke with the person in charge, but it was not easy to stay calm with engine dying. I almost was rear-ended in high speed limit road. Anyway, above is not the main reason I gave a poor rating. After I rented a car for two days before the dealer offered a loaner vehicle (Hyundai policy for dealership to offer one during warranty covered repair). I submitted a claim directly to Hyundai Motors. It took nearly 8 weeks for review (which was stated). I recently checked its status and Hyundai Motors customer rep tells me that they contacted Loren to submit additional document and INFORM ME. Four days passed and I did not receive any calls or emails from Loren. Instead of Loren apologizing, Hyundai Motors customer rep apologized for this. We found a car we liked at Napleton and investigated it. They seemingly worked with us to get it to a reasonable cost for us. We bought the warranty. We paid extra for certified pre-owned. We should have taken our time, waited and gone elsewhere. There was (and still is) a large stain all over the back seats and back storage which we naively assumed they would clean. They did barely try to clean it and failed. We paid for the car to be detailed, and they couldn't get the stains out. We weren't thorough enough to refuse the car purchase based on extensive staining. The stains were very visible and no one from Napleton mentioned them or offered to work to fix them after the initial, minor cleaning they finished. My opinion is that this seems shady, yet we haven't pressed the issue until now - because of other more serious issues we experienced. The Napleton certified pre-owned (CPO) car stalled almost immediately when we got it home. It was dangerous issue as it happened when merging with traffic more than once and put us at serious risk. We immediately took the car back to Napleton and were told it was normal "turbo lag". For a second opinion we immediately took the car to HEART Certified Auto Care (they are amazing). HEART diagnosed the issue as a serious problem and we took the car to Grossinger Hyundai North for a negative repair experience (are there any good Hyundai dealers in/around Chicago?!?). Just read the Yelp reviews. Based on recent experiences, the reviews for Napleton are accurate. Napleton made us pay extra for CPO so we could get the warranty (which is basically worthless as we can't find a quality Hyundai dealership to do the warranty repairs!). Now it looks like either they did the CPO 150 point inspection we paid for which was required for the certified pre-owned warranty and _missed our major issue_, or they didn't do the required CPO 150 point inspection and made us pay for it anyway. Either way we paid for the inspection and have been trying for a month to talk to anyone at Napleton about the issue. When we called multiple times, no one was available to help, and so we left voicemails - which were never returned. Based on our experiences, its unlikely we'll ever buy a Hyundai again or recommend Hyundai as a brand. The car minus the stains is pretty nice, yet in my experience, the quality of service is lacking. I took my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, 54,500 miles, to get the rear windshield wiper fluid trunk system repaired and they asked me to sign a "authorization of diagnosis" for approximately $179.00 dollars to even look at my vehicle. The windshield fluid was shooting inside my car instead of outside my car. My car has never been in an accident, and I am appalled by the audacity of this dealership and the manager Larry to want to charge me before they would even look at the vehicle. I've had my Hyundai serviced at other dealers, for more difficult jobs, and I've never had this type of problem or "authorization of diagnosis" charges. They told me that I would be charged if they weren't able to send the part to Hyundai to repair, or if somehow it was my fault. The car is obviously under warranty and obviously a malfunction of the vehicle, but they still pressed to charge me or they wouldn't even look at my car. Larry was extremely rude and walked off when I told him how upset I was with this charge. He waved me off, sat down in his office, and made a phone call. The service is bad, but the customer service that Larry provided was worse. I hope they hire a different manager, because if you cant serve the customer with simple communication skills, you shouldn't be working in customer service. This doesn't include the fact that this is a dealership and they couldn't service my car under warranty. The salesman (Jeff Rezman) was not only extremely courteous and very informative about the cars I enquired about, I felt like he treated me as a person and not just another customer passing through the doors.   He helped guide me to the right cars with features that fit my budget and needs. Negative! These guys are SLIMY! We test drove a 2008 Tucson Monday night. Liked it, and asked if we could take it to our mechanic. We told them it would be either tues. or thurs. of the same week. They asked for a check for $500 as a sign of good faith which we gave them. The next morning when I told them our mechanic could look at it thursday, they said they would not hold it for us if someone wanted to buy it before then. Now I see they have raised the price!! They obviously had a lot of interest in it so told me they wouldn't hold it--and then raised the price. They also have no return policy at all--once you drive it off their lot, if it breaks down in 2 days--you're stuck. Other dealers have at least 5 days. Stay away! read more

It had better customer service than Grossinger. We got a good price. If you go there, ask for Rich Margarintondo. He is also featured in the video. Bought a "new" car about a year ago. It was sold as new as it was not titled but it did have just over 5,000 miles. About a week or so after purchasing it I had the chance to take a good look at it and found that there were dings of paint missing as if pebbles had it the car. There was paint missing by the windshield. Brought it back to the dealership and was given the run around. The manager looked at it and said they would make good on it and fix it. My salesman, the sales manager and the general manager were all on the same page. Brought it in for repairs and whoever they had to "something" did nothing. Tried to bring it in again and there was one obstacle after another. Then Covid hit. Brought it back a few months ago, this time they tried to buff it out but it didn't work. Now the general manager changed his mind lost his temper with me and told me it was my problem for my buying a car with miles on it and he didn't consider it to be a new car. "We don't examine these cars like new cars and this is your problem! I already spent too much money and time trying to buff it out!" He would not let me talk and my son interrupted him and asked him to please let me say something he said "F$&k this!" and walked out of the showroom! BEWARE of this dealership and and the management! It is unfortunate as we bought 2 cars that day and will NEVER purchase another one after being treated this way. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I have bought 4 cars in my life, all of them used, and I have always hated the part of car-shopping where you're going to dealers and having to confront stereotypical Car Salesmen. After spending about twelve hours researching vehicles and then dealers, I decided to check out Loren Hyundai and test drive a 2014 Elantra that I was looking at online. I was not necessarially planning on buying a car that night, I ended up working with Jim (or Joe?), test drove the car, liked it, negotiated a bit, and bought it. At no point did I feel pressured. Jim (joe? I'm kicking myself for not remembering his name) was friendly and knowledgeable, respected my desire for a smaller car rather than trying to push me into a bigger, more expensive car. I never got that "car salesman" vibe the whole time I was there. Financing was also a painless process. Tony handled it, and the rate was fair, and with simple interest, not one of those double-declining-whatsit arrangements where you pay all the interest up front. I also met their used car manager briefly. I don't remember his name, but he was also very professional. The whole process from walking in to test driving to leaving in a new car took about 2 1/2 hours. Without question the best car-buying experience I have had. read more

HORRIBLY RUDE Customer Service manager. I have a warranty. I brought my car in because the air conditioning was not working. The person who accepted my car explained that they would look at the car. He presented me everything that they would check out in my car. I signed the information he presented to me. What he DID NOT explain was that they would do the work even if it was not under warranty. So, it was of course NOT under warranty. They went ahead and did the work because I signed what the person accepting my car had given me. SO SO SO SHADY!! I got home and thought it over. I have NEVER once had someone work on my car without them calling me and telling me what they were going to do! I called back and the service manager was extremely rude. Yelling and raising his voice. Telling me that he will not give in and I obviously will not give in. Wow. Great customer service. I will NEVER GO BACK! They got their last dime out of me. On February 29th me and my husband walked in to hyundai napleton glenview, we were greeting by someone who looked at us weird and gave us a fake smile, we said we are here to buy a car , that person waving their hands up and down stated "I'm the director "(Jimmie page) my husband than stated "oh great since you are the director you can answer some questions I have " the director replied waving his hands again saying " I'm busy , I will get a person to show you a car" , we were very nicely greeted by a car salesman named Bob , we had a deal made with him and we were supposed to come back at a different time, we were thinking things over, in the mean time someone bought the car , which is understandable because we didn't leave a deposit . We had and appointment with Bob on March 2and at 7pm we walked In and again we were poorly greeted by the director , we said "we have an appointment with Bob" the director answers " bob is not here i send him home for a week he is sick , but i have other guys who could help you , all of a sudden out of nowhere comes Bob he says " hi guys" i say hi Bob your director just said you were not here that he sent you home , Bob answers " I'm here I had and appointment with them, and you didn't tell me to go home" who with Bob we decide on the car but we have to wait for it to come because it was unavailable, so we leave a deposit and right before we leave here comes the rude director and right in front of us says "Bob did they pay you?, did they leave a deposit? I was shocked how could you disrespect your clients like that , and also not trust your employees to do their job. On March 7th I went to pick up my car the director Jimmie page was not there, I had Bob and Don helping me out with "real" smiles and I felt like I was provided real genuine customer service, they were excellent. On march 10th i returned because I had to have some things done like a starter app and i had to pick up my deposit, I noticed the director is in his office so I approached him and told him how nicely I was treated by his employees he said "thank you " but than I said you need to take a lesson from them because they know customer service and you do not and he got beet red with anger, I told him how I felt how he was wrong to treat us that way and to treat his employees that way ( I called Bob's number and after 3 rings it went to the directors direct line so I couldn't leave a message for Bob I didn't trust that he will receive it, I felt like he was stealing clients from people like bob and don and giving them to his what I could only call "goons" his puppets with his rudeness. ) well during me telling him how I feel he says to me "get out" i said I'm not done talking to you let me please finish he repeats "get out " and waves his hands around like a deranged person and would almost hit me if I didnt take some steps back as I saw him starting to get angry , so I'm writing this review hoping someone puts this man in his place I feel real bad for employees because if he could treat clients like that he for sure treats them like dirt . read more

This is honestly the worst experience I have ever had at a dealership for service. I had my first service appointment since purchasing my car at 3900 miles this past Saturday. We purchased the car from another dealer but this one was close to where we were running errands so we decided to give them a try. They changed the oil and I noted that I was having issues with the navigation system and a rattling noise was coming from the sunroof. The adviser said she could schedule a follow up appointment since they did not have a technician available to handle it that day. I explained I could drop it off after work for next day service and she said that would be great and said they would provide a loaner car so I could drop it off and go. We scheduled an appointment for the following Tuesday. As I returned home I noticed a deep gouge in the leather of my steering wheel that was not there when I dropped it off. I called the dealership and they said service was closed but to leave a message and they would get back to me. I left a message for their service manager. On Monday afternoon I called to see if the service manager had received my message and they said yes and that they will handle it when I drop off my car on Tuesday. To my surprise when I showed up for my appointment on Tuesday I was not in their system at all. Nevertheless I spoke with the service rep and the service manager they noted the scrape in the steering wheel and confirmed the damage. They also confirmed the issue with the navigation and the sunroof. They noted that the navigation and sunroof should be under warranty and then walked me over to a loaner car. The technician noted that the repairs should take a couple of days and they will call me with any updates. I went on my way thinking everything was fine. The following morning at 10 am I received a call from the service rep and he said we actually need you to get back here asap. We sold the loaner car you are driving and we need it now. Bring it back and we will give you back your car. I asked was everything fixed already they said the navigation issue is that the wrong memory card was installed in the car from when it was purchased and they will not fix it under warranty at their location. He then said the sunroof is the same you will need to go to the dealership I bought the car from. Then he said even though the steering wheel damage was confirmed they are not going to fix it. I asked if he contacted the dealership I purchased it from and if they could just complete the service at this location. I was never told I had to go the purchasing dealership at any point prior and since this was just being brought up now I would appreciate him calling to explain the specific issues since I am not a technician. He said I would need to do that on my own and if they want to call Loren Hyundai then that dealer can. So I called the purchasing dealership and they said they would be happy to work with them to get the issues resolved. I figured that would take care of it and I went back to work expecting to get a call from the dealerships once everything was set. I didn't hear back so I called in and was told that they talked to the other dealership and nothing was authorized yet. I was then told very sternly that I needed to bring their car back right now and just pick up my car and pay for their service fees from looking into the navigation system. I explained it is 12 pm, I am at work and I will have to see about leaving to drive from downtown to the suburbs right now because it will take a long time. I also said I did not feel comfortable picking up my car since work that I had requested to be done was not being completed all while the other dealership was working to authorize it. The service rep then said they are going to remove the insurance off of the vehicle so if I get pulled over the car will be uninsured so I better get there now. Fortunately I know that when in a loaner car the insurance you carry covers the vehicle you are driving the same as the one you own and I explained that is not true. He then said if I am not back there asap with the car and payment they are calling the POLICE!!! This is coming from a Service department that I dropped off my car at the evening prior. I explained that I will need to talk with the dealership that I purchased the car from and get back to them. I talked to the dealership I purchased the car from they were shocked by the entire situation and how Loren Hyundai dealt with them and me. They are paying me back for all service fees incurred by Loren Hyundai and they are going to do all the service work themselves. I have no real idea what this dealer believes is customer service but this was the most disturbing experience I have ever had dealing with any service industry. In the end I paid money to have my car damaged and no work done. I would not recommend this place to anyone no matter the reason. read more

I was looking for an electric car an I already had a great deal from Auto-barn for a Nissan Leaf fully financed I have purchased over thirteen cars in my life time. I earn six fingers and have good credit I wanted a car with more range so we went to Napleton in Glenview for the Hyundai Kona EV. I wanted to purchase this car it was a used car we found it on car-gurus it listed as overpriced $38OOO low miles I was told that I had to pay for the certification and that they had shipped the car here from California. I had never paid for a certification before an I thought that was odd David Choi the General Manger was working on my financing so I thought but he never pulled my credit or ask me my income he told me payments would in the mid - $600 and asked how much will I put down During the negotiations we notice he started with a price based on the cost of a new car $42000 when questing him he appeared to be aggravated My son told him the car was already overpriced according to the website He said that they have nothing to based that on He told us we should not be looking for a car that we can not afford I thought that was racist. My son kept trying to negotiate finally David would not so we left I told my son when we left that this man did not want to sale us this car he never pulled my credit nor ask me my income or looked for financing for me an must be racist but after reading the other reviews it appears that they are rude corrupt and are trying to cheat people do not go there read more

Archaic, slimy, and intimidating sales tactics - save yourself the trouble and run far far away from here. It's actually shocking how they are even still in business. They will make it look like they are giving you a deal when in reality they wrapped up 37 different ways to screw you over in one small package. Do the math in front of them and don't believe anything they say about giving you "the best deal". The "deal" they came up with would have had me paying $36k over the life of a $28k car. DO THE MATH PEOPLE! Quick tip: multiply your monthly payment by the amount of months and add back the amount of your trade/what you're putting down. That's how much you'll pay by the end of your financing term. This dealership exceeded my expectations across the board. Larry Rosecrants was terrific. Got me an early appointment with a loaner car and ensured my car got fixed quickly. (some advice: go during the week and right when they open) However, there were some communication issues between the staff and one of the employees were being really rude to the porter for no good reason. Stay away!!! Bought a used Kia and was given 1 key fob. Tony the manager said that the 2nd key was in the salesperson's desk and I could pick it up the following day. When i call John Adimidis (salesperson) he says that he doesn't have it but will contact the previous owner to send it. Fast forward 1 week, I have to call AGAIN to inquire about the key. The key never arrived according to him so they must order one. Bottom line, after 5 calls back and forth neither John or Tony have the integrity to call me back. Stay away from this dealership. If you want to work with a car salesman superstar ask for Radek Koziol at Loren Hyundai in Glenview. -He will represent your interest very well to his sales manager - He knows the car inventory -He knows all the comprehensive and intricate settings on the Sonata Limited. We spend more than 2 hours (most of which were in the parking lot after the dealership closed) going through each one, and he set up each feature based on my preferences. So when I left I felt comfortable in the car. -He transferred everything from my old car to the new car, even the parking sticker on my window -He truly lives customer service. He gave me his cell phone number and said that I could call him any time with a question. I had an occasion to do that one afternoon and he was right there to give me an answer. -He is intelligent, thorough, and very friendly. read more

This review is for sales. I haven't used their service dpt. yet. I just purchased a 2014 Hyundai Elantra from here. The entire experience, from entering the dealership to driving away was efficient and pleasant. I never felt pressured, there was no nonsense, and the pricing was fair. This is the fourth car I have purchased in my lifetime, each from different dealers, and this was the best experience out of all of them, by far. Jim was the salesman, and I believe Tony was the financing agent. I also briefly met the used sales manager whose name I don't recall. All of them were friendly, regular people. I've never been fond of the "car salesman" personality, and none of them had it, which was refreshing and put me at ease. The financing was also very straightforward - simple interest, none of the backwards-double-reducing whatchamacalit buisness where you wind up paying most of the interest up front. read more

I took my 2013 Elantra purchased from same dealer there due to steering wheel freezing while driving at speeds above 60 MPH (what i would have thought a day later i call to check on the vehicle and they tell me they couldnt duplicate the issue and car was ready to go. I asked if they took it on the highway, he replies no.... Rick Budzban, my service manager apparently cant understand english. Complete disregard for my family's safety. Stay away from Loren service department. Had to call the Hyundai 800 customer service number and file a complaint. read more
