Came across Native Brew when setting up a route to Cherokee on google maps and I am sure glad I found it. This is a great hidden gem right off the main parkway after leaving the park to go to Cherokee. I was initially interested due to it being a Native American and Women owned business. However, upon arrival found a great place for food, beer, and an awesome atmosphere. With both indoor and outdoor seating this is a place that I would definitely frequent if I was a local. We just got beer flights and appetizers, but they more then filled up the table. Highly recommend the pretzel! Also to note for beer collectors, their cans come with cool artwork and will definitely stop in for a 6 pack next time I drive through. Don't miss out on this great place. read more

Outstanding experience! Stopped by for a late lunch and a few beverages. The staff immediately made us feel right at home. Arrived at 8:30. They close at nine. Our server Matthew was obviously ready to to leave as soon as we ordered. Ordered a market price steak mid rare. Was gray and not good. Matthew took it away. Threw it away. Never said a word. Came back and said "took it off your bill". "You can't keep it if we take it off your bill."I assumed he took it to make it right. Nope. Ok, stopped here for lunch today, 4 of us and a dog. We sat outside so the dog wouldn't have to stay in the truck and the place is nice enough to allow that. The service was excellent from the hostess who seated us and answered our puppy questions, through the server (Kily?) who took great care of us and our special requests, to the bussers who cleaned the tables and had smiles while doing it. We tried a couple of their beers and they were very good. And did I mention the food? It was fabulous. Wife and I shared a Bourbonzola burger with tots and fries. Could not have been better. The good : Having struggled to find a quality dining experience for yrs in Cherokee, Native Brews looked like a nice/new addition to some otherwise disappointing area restaurants. The remodel and use of the space was great with lots of outdoor seating with games, bags, big checkers, etc for families and patrons. The bad: the food and the wait (for food)was sub par AND expensive!. The "dill chicken sandwich" and water I received, 40 min after ordering.(at 715 pm and not crowded). My sandwich $16+ after tax and was an over cooked equivalent to a McD's fried chkn patty. My company had a $12 chkn/iceberg lettuce salad and an $19 single catfish filet. Our server was GREAT, and felt bad we waited so long and didn't love the food, so she comp'd deserts. I am ashamed for the owner of this establishment. it is extremely ironic a Native female owned business should know not to discriminate against a person with disabilities and their service animal. we were seated outside in 40 degree weather and were refused a place inside. We talked to various people and finally the executive chef came and spoke with us. He proceeded to say it was the owner's rules, not his, and we could not bring the service animal inside. I am not sure of the rules for the Cherokee Nation but having a restaurant and being ignorant of the Americans with Disabilities Act is unacceptable. The food, staff and executive chef treated us with respect and were very polite. I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone with a disability and I will be awaiting a response from the owner and an apology before I file a grievance with the ADA and The Tribal Council of the Cherokee Nation. read more

My family was visiting Cherokee while down for a graduation. Native brews was recommended by our hotel. We started with a local IPA, then ordered the BYO burgers and Rib appetizer. OMG the food was great!!! The portions were large and the prices reasonable. The service was fine, we did not feel rushed at all. We were able to relax and enjoy our beers and food. Our server Tommy was great. Friendly staff and bar like atmosphere. We even returned the following day for more Ribs, Nachos and Burger. Thanks again for a great time! read more

While waiting for our food, I was able to see in the kitchen and was impressed with the layout and efficiency. Then I saw the "chef" drop tongs used to plate fries. He delivered the orders and returned to place them on the prep station. He then used them to plate another serving of fries. So if you ate there on 12/28/22 from 2:20- till that bowel of fries ran out you ate contaminated fries. We quickly canceled our order and the server was ver apologetic and understood. While the place looked good and looked clean no way I'm about to eat fries contaminated with what ever is on the kitchen floor. read more

I highly recommend hiking the oconaluftee river trail into Cherokee, NC and stopping at tNative Brews which is conveniently located at the end of the trail for lunch and beers. What a terrific place nestled in Cherokee. We stopped for lunch while visiting my parents nearby. The service was terrific and the food delicious. We were excited to taste native beers but they were out of everything due to an event the night before. I had the peanut crusted trout (so did my parents) and it was the best trout I've ever had. The dish was creative and well done. My husband had the bourbonzola burger and enjoyed it. For starters we tried the keep it southern and the ba ba boom shrimp; both were terrific. The brussel sprouts were the only disappointment as they were over cooked and not shaved or sliced but I also just don't love brussels. Great food and great service! Everyone was friendly and helpful even though it was close to closing time. My husband and I shared the Riblet appetizer and the Fish and Chips. Both were fantastic! Before we left, we ordered another fish and chips, not because the servings are small, just because they were so good! We also tried their Blackberry Cider and it was good too. Most of their draft beers were out of stock sadly, because where they brew their beer in California was damaged from the wildfires. We were expecting an average local brewery serving their own ordinary beer menu and some bar sides that you could find at any airport. WE WERE SO WRONG! Not only is the beer quite well done, but the the food is very well prepared. Our server Tommy was attentive, fun, and knowledgeable about the menu. His suggestions were spot on. I ordered a flight so I could quickly get a grip on the beer offering. First, the flaming Arrow IPA - a solid and full IPA that is a great flagship brew for the restaurant. Second, the Smoke signals Hazee - not my kind of beer. The citrus wasn't pronounced enough and after tasting the Flaming Arrow, it just didn't offer much flavor. Third, the Smokey Mountain Golden Ale was a fantastic surprise. This ale was full bodied without being too dry. I think if I was local, this one would be my go-to on the menu, which suprised me because ...Fourth - Walnut Stout - I saved this for last because I almost always go for the stouts first. This one did not disappoint. It was full, and not hoppy (latest craze I do not understand) and had a nuttiness to the tongue that was almost another appetizer. I'd truly have to decide next time to go with the Stout or the Ale. A choice that has no wrong answer. THE FOOD - I had the fish and chips. Well done, fresh tasting fish lightly breaded and happily served with both tartar sauce and malt vinegar. OH, and the dessert menu - just YES. We had the cheesecake on top of our wonderful meal and it was fantastic. Dining in Cherokee can be hit or miss. I'm happy to report that Native Brews is a definite hit. read more

While on vacation in the mountains with our family we wanted to try a couple of local breweries. This one was by far our favorite! The staff is so friendly and the food options had something for everyone. I had two flights of beer and I liked every single one of them. The inside is incredibly spacious but we opted to sit outside since my 4 year old daughter likes to run around. The outside area was equipped with toys, play areas and tables. It's perfect for a family outing. We can't wait to go back! read more
