It has been about a month since my wife and I dined at our favorite diner, the Nautilus in Mamaroneck, NY. When we entered yesterday around 3:30 PM, we were overwhelmed with the beauty of the newly remodeled dining areas. The Halloween decorations were in full blaze that added to the great visual effect. As usual, we had a very nice meal with polite service from our waiter. When we paid our bill, we were able to chat with the caring owner, Teddy. We have been dinning at the Nautilus Diner for many years and will continue to look forward to our visits there. read more

Best diner in the Westchester area. We just moved to Greenwich and have been searching for a great diner. This place has the best breakfast and lunch food. You cant go wrong with this diners breakfast. We are kind of regulars for weekend breakfast time. We are coming here from the Bronx while we shop at Traders Joe. So we come around 10-11am and it is always busy at this time but we are always seated immediately. We order usually from special omelettes, today for example we had goat cheese omelette and california Benedict: both were tasty. They give home fries on the side and toast of your choice. Coffee is good and has free refills as usual in diners. You pay at the counter. They always have clean bathrooms and nice parking area. We have been here twice for lunch/dinner and it was ok. I've been here about once or twice but, never got around to writing a review. Today we did breakfast and it was delicious. Even though they were classic menu items, they were done well. I ordered french toast with bacon and it was delicious. The bread was nice and thick and had great flavor. I'm usually one to get breakfast sausage, this time I'm glad I got bacon because it had just enough fat on it and the right amount of crunch. My boyfriend got pancakes and sausage. He really enjoyed his meal. He said they were really fluffy and cooked just how he likes them! The sausage was good too. I also suggest the sampler platter, we ordered that when we came in late one night and it really hit the spot. What a day at the Nautilus Diner... woke up excited for my weekly buffalo chicken wrap and I was deeply disappointed. My buddies order 2 wraps one with grilled chicken and one with no lettuce, very simple. One received the normal chicken with lettuce and the other grilled chicken with no lettuce- this was the first blunder. Next, they proceeded to open the wraps and swap the chickens placed, using the same wraps, chicken and lettuce, truly an unorthodox method. Finally, for the icing on the cake my food came and it was as if they had incubated a baby chicken egg over night and planted it into my wrap. I bit into my wrap and there crunchy entity, to my distaste it was an eggshell, possibly remnants from previous nights baby chicken egg? A bad day for the nautilus. read more

Honestly, pleasantly surprised here. My family always hosts Christmas Eve, so when we can take a break from preparing our own food during the holiday weekend, we capitalize. Unfortunately for us, IHOP had a longer line than the DMV. So our party of 9 (7 adults, a 4-year old tornado, and an infant) drove another two minutes down the street to Nautilus. My family lives a town over, and so we thought it was a good opportunity for us to try a place that we've been passing by our entire lives. We were seated within minutes - pretty surprising given that this was on a Sunday after an early morning mass. I'm always pretty excited to go to diners for breakfast and while I always expect large portions, I definitely was not expecting the plates of food on our table. I ordered the Hungry Man Challah French Toast with an additional side of homefries. When it arrived to the table, it came on three full sized plates. One plate had three slices of inch-thick french toast, beautifully crusted and smelling like a dessert. Another had the bacon and two eggs that come standard as the Hungry Man item. And the other plate had a full order of homefries, double of what I was expecting. Everyone around the table probably received 25-50% more food than what we were expecting when we placed our orders. And while the quantity was there, the quality did not disappoint. Buttery french toast, crispy homefries, and perfectly cooked eggs and bacon - what more can you ask of a diner? Also, my sister-in-law's waffle fries were pretty bomb too. Afterwards, my brother and I agreed that he and I could have split my order and been completely satisfied. The menu isn't as overwhelming as other diner joints, but everything on it looks like quality. The service was great and attentive - our waters and coffees were always refilled. Today dining at Nautilus it brought back a lot of childhood memories. My entire family would come here on sundays. The menu was so large as a child it was hard to decide so I always ended up ordering the same items every time I went. Today was no different chicken parm hero. I haven't been here in over 20 years but their were some upgrades from what I can remember. It still has a mom and pop feeling but more moderate. The staff was nice but service took a while. Just to place our order it took 21 minutes. Which as you know when you're at a restaurant/diner feels like years. It took another 20/25 for the food to arrive. I would return but most likely in a few more years so my children can dine at a place my entire family used to enjoy. read more

Nautilus has been my go-to diner in Larchmont since we moved here around 6 years ago. The owner and his staff are just amazing! The food is pretty good. My favs are the Sante Fe grilled chicken wrap, jumbo cheeseburger delux, and the combo appetizers (chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, loaded potato skins, and chicken wings combo- yum!). Nice place, if you've read my reviews in the past I am a huge Diner lover. I can eat breakfast for dinner any day of the week. I appreciate the convenience of this location, it's literally right next door to Trader Joe's. So I can grab a bite and get my grocery shopping done. Service is nice and the Belgium waffles and yummy and crispy! (Just like i like em). Oh and the strawberries are FRESH! My boyfriend and I came here over the weekend and we really enjoyed the food. We got pancakes with strawberries and the huevos rancheros. The pancakes were ok, nothing special. It was fluffy but I feel like its missing something. What we really loved was the huevos rancheros. We could've honestly shared the one dish amongst both of us because it was a big plate. The staff is very friendly and honest. I often get the burger deluxe (burger+ fries, coleslaw, and 2 onion rings), but also get wraps, breakfast items, or omelets. If you need something changed, they will take it back right away, no questions asked. The food is delicious and the service is fast. It's open 24 hrs and there is ample parking. I Love the diner food and service is amazing! 4 stars, While waiting to pay, phones are ringing and was ignoring the calls , when she finally decided pick up(one call) . My child and I are right in front her ready to pay (already 10 mins waiting), 5'2 (pink shirt) manager?? Someone was waiting to be seating as well had her back towards the lady, Doesn't acknowledge us or her at all, I said hi! She ignored us completely! She complaining over the phone that she's feels like she's working alone and someone who supposedly in the bathroom for 10 mins ! (Seriously) your complaining but yet providing horrible customer service, two wrongs don't make a right but seriously if you can't multitask just say that and be honest . I waffled between 2 and 3 stars. But let me digress. I came here because an acquaintance said they had the best onion rings ever. So I came in for lunch to try the onion rings. Sat at the counter where the service was quick and efficient. Ordered a cheeseburger medium and an order of onion rings. As recommended, the onion rings were outstanding with an extra crispy, crunchy crust. As is common with many onion rings, if you eat them too soon, the coating tears off and you eat only the crust with the onion drooping all over. If it was a pub, it could have been improved by the addition of one or more dipping sauces. The burger was almost raw in the middle...far from what I consider medium. All in all, I'll return for the O-rings and try something else for lunch. read more

Went in with the family for what I wanted to be a good breakfast. We got horrible service. The waiter never came around to see if we needed anything else. I had to tell him to clear the table so that we can comfortably eat. Then I had to tell him to bring the menus so that we can get drinks. He never showed back up to ask what drinks we were interested in. When I brought it up to check out, all we got was "I'm sorry to hear that." Not even if there's anything we can do. This establishment if excellent. Beautiful to look at, modeled after a yacht with great service and super clean. With all of that said, the meals are the bottom line and the bottom line is that they are splendid. Everything has great taste and is delicious. Service has always been good for the twenty years I have been going there. They operate like a full fledged restuarant because they do almost everything yet they are quick about everything. Prices are also fair. I go with my wife, young son, and mom and the total bill is about 100 or less. Add alcohol and it will go up but come on, thats still very reasonable in 2020.
