Total bummer. I wanted to like this place but they messed up our reservation and sat us in the very loud, very cramped, very busy bar area. We were crammed in the corner of the bar where we had to constantly tuck our arms in as the wait staff walked by with food and drinks for patrons of the restaurant. I also got the lovely view of the waitress area. Not exactly a mood setting location. Plus, our table was so tiny we could barely fit two dishes at a time and had to figure out how to keep our cocktails on the table. Also didn't help that I was tucked in because the table next to us was back to back with me. Also, had to listen to the man's obnoxiously loud conversation behind us because we were packed like sardines in the bar area. We booked a comfy table for my friend's bday dinner and they gave us a crappy bar table. I was very disappointed and displeased. Also, my high top chair was missing a leg cover and was super wobbly. I asked the manager about switching chairs and she said she would bring a new chair for me. She never did. I ended up switching my own chair with one from the bar. Not something I should have to do for a place that charged about $30 per "tapas" plate. We did bring this to the manager's attention at the end of our meal at which point we were just ready to leave. It was by far the most uncomfortable I have ever been at a supposedly higher end restaurant. The manager said if she had known sooner, she would've done something to rectify it. Almost sounded like she blamed us for not telling her soon. Although she was very well aware that they had screwed up some reservations. She should've fixed it then when she came around asking our name that was on our reservation to ensure they had marked their books correctly. She knew then that they had made a mistake but did nothing to fix it. And she was running around like crazy and our multiple attempts to get her attention during our short dinner there went unnoticed. Trust me, we tried to get her attention. So, I'm not taking the blame for their mistake. Sure she comped some food but $90 for a crappy experience still feels like a waste of time and money. We ended up walking over to Tuscan Kitchen to get a cocktail and ended up with a much better drink, much better service and actual room to breathe. Will be skipping Nautilus in the future and recommend you do the same.

Truly excellent business dinner here. Got the whole duck - yum, so generous and a lovely presentation. Also loved the crab rice, octopus, dan dan noodles, a beets app, and others. Everything was lovely. Wonderful service, our waters were always topped up. Decent wine list and my colleagues enjoyed their cocktails. The lighting is a bit dark and the space a bit tight,, but overall comfortable enough. It really is an excellent spot, overall.

Nautilus, highly hyped - but highly disappointing. Flavor combos, execution, and things like the crab rice being incredibly salty made for a very poor experience. Sat outside, service was good and quick - no complaints there. Overall I thought the flavors left itself more to the western palette and were muted. Started with the Karaage - small pieces of chicken were left in the fryer a bit long. Had a somewhat burnt taste. Buns were tastey but for $20 what an insanely small piece of pork. Crab rice - flavors were bright but the chef put too much salt and it through the entire dish off. The saving grace for the meal was the Tres Leches. So well executed with a nice meringue on top. I have a reason to go to Boston any chance I can get. This place! It's been over a month and I still think about the food. I love Asian fusion and they do it right here. Everything is so good but the highlights were the radish cakes and lobster roll. Because I still remember those dishes. But everything we ordered was delicious. We loved dining there that we ate there two nights in a row when we were there for a convention. The location is in walking distance from the convention center and love the waterfront space.

I was in Boston for work and my colleague and I decided to have dinner here. I was glad we had a reservation because it was quite busy! The service was friendly and attentive during our entire visit. We shared with the poke bowl, beef salad, oyster tacos and the chicken wings. Everything came out so quickly and was very fresh. Our favorites were the poke bowl. The portion was great to share between 2 people and it was delicious! The oyster tacos were sooo good! I was surprised to like them so much because they are so different, but the combination of ingredients worked and they were amazing. The beef salad was good, a little spicy. The chicken was ok, they had an aftertaste that I didn't care for, could have been the oil that they were fried in. If I came back I would definitely get the poke again and the oyster tacos!

Had an okay experience here. We got stuck in traffic and were about 5 minutes late to our reservation, but because of that (despite a 15 minute grace period) we were told that we lost our table and would be put at one in the back. We were literally sat in a table squeezed by the bar in the very back, where there was constant squeezing and shuffling, basically the antithesis of personal space. Servers were pretty nice and once we ordered food came out very quick. Overall the food was pretty good, but wasn't worth the price point since the ambiance didn't make it for us.

Ambiance was great-super pretty turquoise blue branding and a nice view of the water outside. Service was good overall! Our waiter was friendly and was knowledgeable on a lot of the menu items, which equipped him well for recommendations. The waiters didn't come by often to refill water or ask if we needed anything, which was the only downside. Wine, 8/10: Was clean and crisp, helped balance out the overly salty food! Food: -Dan Dan Noodles, 8.3/10: The noodles were more of a lighter consistency than the dan dan noodles I'm used to, which was a plus. Was a balanced, clean spicy flavor with the right amount of pork. -Peking Duck, 8.5/10: The duck was well-seasoned and came with two parts of the duck (one more meaty/fatty, one lean/slightly crispy) served with sushi rice underneath the leaner part. The sauces (sriracha, mayo, hoisin) could have been more complex and presented better (they came in plain squeezable bottles) considering the price of the dish (~$135). The dish was good but super salty and too heavy relative to traditional peking duck dishes. -Raclette-Stuffed Peppers, 7/10: The dish had just the right amount of spice. Would have been nice if the dish was a bit more complex, felt like it was missing that wow factor. -Japanese Chicken, 9/10: It seems like your typical karaage dish, but the chicken had some of the best texture I've ever had in a karaage dish-super juicy and soft. The sauce was you typical karaage sauce. -Oyster Tacos, 7/10: Wasn't bad, wasn't great. Got this dish bc of other good reviews, but wasn't wowed by it. Overall, great for ambiance, but the food wasn't anything special. Feels like the food didn't stay true to their Asian roots for the most part, simultaneously tasted not Asian or American enough.

Business dinner , met with a quick, polite and attentive waiter. Nautical themed restaurant in the seaport on Boston harbor. Sharing foods family style. Ordered the Old barrel cocktail, very nice. Food recommendations Good: octopus, bao buns Very good: green beans seasoned with a nice snap , shishito peppers salty but good , short ribs - tender , tasty but had the pick out the bones Great : chicken -juicy, flavorful and crunchy , blue crab rice - flavorful , daikon radish cakes - unique texture - delicious taste crispy skin and fluffy body Seafood and Asian fusion, vwery good. Expensive but I would go back for a special occasion

I was expecting more, but overall it was a good meal. The set up of the restaurant is a little odd and service was slow. We were seated in a back room where there was a separate bar, and the party next to us kept having to squeeze between our table and the wall to get by. A bit stiff for vibes and probably not a great spot to just get drinks. The food was very yummy, but overpriced for what it is and very small portions. I'm glad we went to give it a try, but I don't think we're in any rush to go back.

The food here is pretty good. I would say a lot of it seems to be inspired by asian dishes. (I'm not sure who the chefs & owners are) The scallops, the corn, and the octopus were really good here. The bathroom here is also pretty nice & there's an underwater theme throughout.

I loved my dinner here! The crab fried rice was excellent!! Definitely star of the show. The patio had a view of the water and was so cute. I also tried the asparagus kale salad and the pride cocktail. Both were pretty good! Overall it was an elevated dining experience.

Do they serve cappuccinos or tea at this restaurant?

They serve multiple teas, espresso, americanos, lattes, and cold brew.

Do you have heated outdoor seating and are you open Dec 24 or Dec 25? I also have some mobility issues so wondering if there are stairs I have to traverse?

Mobility issues are not a problem, but no heaters on the patio, and closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. But the website for up to date hours.

The layout encourages ordering several dishes for the table, and the variety across the menu makes it easy to build a meal that feels different with each visit. The small plates are the biggest draw because they let you try a wide range of flavors without committing to a single entrée. The pork belly buns are one of the signature dishes, featuring tender pork inside soft steamed buns with a balance of sweet and savory flavors. The dan dan noodles are another standout with their rich, spicy sauce, while the Brussels sprouts have developed a strong following thanks to their crispy texture and bold seasoning. We also appreciated that many dishes are available as half portions, making it easier to sample more of the menu without ordering too much food. The menu offers a good balance between familiar favorites and more creative dishes, with each plate feeling thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. There are also plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, making it easy for groups with different dietary preferences to find something they enjoy. When we walked into Legal, the place was dead, the music was awful, and the vibe was just not there. So we sat at the bar and grabbed a drink while searching for a place to get an actual dinner where we could find last-minute reservations. Shojo in Chinatown came up with great reviews and after looking at the menu and seeing that we could get a reservation, we headed over. It was a short walk from the Ritz and Chinatown is just such a fun place with great energy. When we walked in, we knew we had made the right call and were easily able to switch our reservation from a table to bar seats, which is always an added bonus. The place is low lit and the music is on the louder side, but nothing was excessive to the point that we didn't enjoy our time there. We ordered a variety of drinks while there - a Toki Highball draft, a spicy tequila drink with lemongrass, a few different types of Japanese whiskeys as well (they have a really extensive list). As far as food goes, they categorize their menu into Snacks, Baos, and Rice, Noodles, and Dumplings. There's a lot of vegetarian friendly options, which is always a plus for me. My highlights were the 7 vegetable stir fry, fried eggplant bao, edamame dumplings, and the Thai veggie spring rolls. The salt and pepper calamari was also really great. Everything was terrific and really unique. Service was good - not great, but they took notice of empty glasses and were quick to bring out food, so I have absolutely no complaints. Shojo is somewhere I'd absolutely return to when staying in the area, I'm really happy we all turned what would have been a very touristy, depressing experience into something with a WAY better vibe and time!

It's dark, energetic, and feels like you're stepping into a modern Shanghai cocktail lounge rather than a typical Chinese restaurant. It was busy but never felt overwhelming, making it a great spot for a group dinner or a night out. We decided to share just about everything on the menu, and that's definitely the way to experience this place. We started with the Tangerine Tuna, which was one of my favorite dishes of the night. The mandarin, peanuts, and spicy mayo gave it a bright, refreshing flavor that was different from the usual tuna crudo. The Spicy Salmon Puffs were another standout with a fun combination of crispy rice puffs, spicy salmon, and a touch of honey. We also ordered the Crab Rangoons, Scallion Pancake, Pan Fried Pork Dumplings, Wang Shou Wings, and Pork Belly Buns. The rangoons had a perfectly crispy shell with a creamy filling, while the scallion pancake disappeared almost immediately thanks to the house dipping sauce. The pork belly buns were rich and packed with flavor, and the wings had a unique dry spice blend with just enough heat to keep you reaching for another. For the larger plates, we shared the Dandan Noodles, House Fried Rice, Cantonese Fried Chicken, and the whole soy chicken noodle platter. The fried rice was probably the biggest surprise of the night. It's easy to overlook a fried rice on a menu this large, but it was incredibly flavorful and one of the dishes everyone kept going back for. The Dandan noodles were rich with a nutty sesame-peanut sauce and just enough chili oil to give them some kick. The Cantonese fried chicken was perfectly crispy without feeling greasy, and the soy chicken platter was ideal for sharing with the table. The cocktail program deserves a mention too. We tried the Paper Crane, Mr. H Mai Tai, and White Dragon before finishing the night with the Hibiki Harmony whiskey, which was presented in a really fun smoked tableside display that made for a memorable ending to the meal. The cocktails were creative without being overcomplicated and fit the vibe of the restaurant perfectly. Overall, Mr. H delivers more than just good food. The atmosphere, presentation, cocktails, and shareable menu make it a place that's meant to be experienced with friends. I'd recommend coming with a group so you can order across the menu instead of sticking to just a couple of dishes. It's not an inexpensive dinner, but for a special night out in the Seaport, I thought it was well worth it.

PEKING DUCK (4/5) I think I'm a tough critic since I just came back from Beijing and had so much Peking duck there. We ordered the half portion here and it had a generous amount of meat for not being the full portion. There were an assortment of accompaniments, including pineapple (new to me) and sugar (like the Beijing style) which were welcome additions. The wrappers were steamed well and didn't curl up on the edges. Overall this was a solid Peking duck, but the meat wasn't as standout as I was hoping. 6. STEAMED PORK SOUP DUMPLING (4/5) Solid soup dumplings. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely hit the spot. 7. SAUTEED PEA SPROUTS (4/5) Another solid classic. 8. PORK MEATBALL IN CRAB MEAT SAUCE (4/5) This was the most unique thing we ordered. I've never had a shi zi tou meatball with crab meat sauce before. The meatball itself was large (maybe size of a tennis ball), tender, and fatty, as it should be. It was then drowned in a generous lake of traditional crab meat sauce. If you're not a fan of crab meat then this might be a bit too fishy for you, but honestly it all combined surprisingly well and I grew to like this dish more and more with each bite. I wasn't the biggest fan to start, but by the end I wouldn't have minded getting another one! ------ AMBIANCE / ENVIRONMENT: * The interior has the classic Asian style of decor, but you can tell it was recently built / renovated because everything felt new and fresh. * The ambiance also felt more new-school luxurious vs. the typical Asian establishments that are more no-frills with as many tables packed in as possible * You're still somewhat close to the tables around you, but it's not overwhelming during lunch time and we still felt like we had enough space regardless * There's a bar area at the front of the restaurant and then a large, spacious dining room in the back * This is a great place for a date or a meaningful family gathering * Right outside is Boston Common, making this restaurant very well-located for lunch before or after a nice day in the park. While there's lots of parking around the park, a spot itself can be hard to come by, so your best bet might be to use the nearby parking garage instead ------ SERVICE: * Overall the service was great and quick. They did forget our tea, but when we asked for it later they apologized profusely and were quick to bring it out for us * This place fills up quickly so be sure to come early if you don't have a reservation or if you're a big enough group, make a reservation for your desired dining time

I had this with my Shanghainese relatives and they thought it was so bad Fish Slices w/ Pickled Mustard Greens (6.5/10): This tasted fine. The fish itself was not memorable. The spice level was ok, but could've been spicier. Crab Roe over Rice (7/10): Pretty tasty, but more of a side dish. Peking Duck (7/10): Honestly, I never order Peking duck unless I'm with my relatives. It tasted good to me, but pretty comparable to other Peking ducks I've had in the US. I think this is their #1 specialty dish or something, so knowing that, it doesn't really live up to the hype. tl;dr Too expensive for the quality of food you get.

Located in the…read moreSeaport, it has a trendy, modern vibe with dim lighting, sleek decor, and a lively atmosphere, definitely a good choice for a night out with friends, a birthday dinner, or even a date. The menu leans pan-Asian with a big focus on sushi, small plates, and shareable dishes. There's a lot of variety, so it's easy to order a mix of things for the table. The sushi is fresh and nicely presented, and the specialty rolls feel creative without being overcomplicated. The hot dishes are flavorful and come out well-timed, which makes sharing easy and enjoyable. We tried the Peking duck, which was flavorful and similar to other high-quality versions we've had in the past. The mapo tofu was also good, though not as numbing as we would've liked. Service is generally attentive and professional, and the staff handles larger tables and busy nights well. Overall, Empire is a solid Seaport go-to if you're looking for Asian food, cool ambiance, and a fun night out.

XO Seafood Udon: The restaurant specifically labeled it "wok-tossed," and it truly had a wonderful wok-hei鑊氣 (wok aroma), with an irresistible fragrance as soon as it arrived at the table. The XO sauce was extremely rich, sweet and umami, and the udon noodles were soft on the outside and bouncy on the inside; the sauce was glossy, smooth, but not greasy, allowing it to coat the noodles evenly and infuse them with flavor. The shrimp, squid, and scallops were all fresh and large, making for a very satisfying meal. The shrimp, in particular, were coated with a thin layer of starch before being pan-fried, adding layers of texture and locking in the juices. This plate removed the scallions and onions to suit my taste, and if you like spicy food, adding a little chili oil would greatly enhance the flavor. The restaurant had an elegant and refined ambiance, and the service was attentive, making it a very relaxing place.

When I made the reservation online I put that the occasion it was for was my birthday- I notice that most restaurants don't pay attention to this on OpenTable, but Fuji definitely did! We were seated quickly and with no issue at all, despite it being pretty crowded. The vibe was intimate and classy- a great spot for date night, or for dinner with your parents. At our table was a card (in the pictures) which was such a nice touch and was a great start to the meal. Our waitress was awesome, and it seemed like there was a floor manager too that was making sure everyone was happy. It felt like the staff truly cared and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time and experience. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times, and was very helpful with the menu. Speaking of the menu, I was very pleased to see the amount of vegetarian dishes! You don't see that often at Japanese restaurants! For our appetizers we got the lobster Rangoon and spicy edamame. Technically the tofu is an app but you would never guess that from the portion size. The edamame were outstanding! They were spicy as expected and were so tasty. We demolished the whole bowl. The Rangoons were also amazing- the chunks of lobster were divine. I myself love lobster and crab Rangoons, so a combo?! Amazing. Both the edamame and lobster Rangoons are can't misses. For our entrees/ mains we got the crispy soy noodles, miss Waldorf roll, sweet potato roll, tofu, and fried rice. The miss Waldorf roll is amazing, and I can not wait to go back and get more sushi. Truly the best sushi I have had in boston. There are other upscale sushi restaurants I have been to that charge a pretty penny but taste like grocery store sushi. Fuji is not one of those- it was truly exceptional sushi. The sweet potato roll was also delicious! I am very picky about my sweet potato rolls and had one that I have dreamt about since I had it in 2022. I have finally found a sweet potato roll that matches my standards. The crispy soy noodles were also amazing! They reminded e of one of my favorite restaurants when I was a kid and it filled me with such joy to eat something with that flavor. The serving size was pretty big too, and they were not shy on the shrimp! Note though, they were a tad oily (I added a little bit of soy sauce to balance it out). The fried rice was also very good and tasted like a good bowl of comfort fried rice. My parents ate it with the tofu and liked it! The only dish I would want some change in is the tofu- it wasn't bad but compared to the other dishes it definitely lacked the flavor punch you get in the rest of the dishes. The sauce was okay with it. After dinner our waitress brought a slice of vanilla crepe cake and ice cream! This was such a nice touch and it was SO good!!!!! It was the first time I ever had crepe cake but I loved it! I'm not sure if they have a dessert menu or not (we weren't asked if we wanted to see one) but I would love to go back and get that cake again! Overall I am beyond happy that I picked this spot for my birthday- I had an amazing experience and amazing food. Will definitely be back!

This place is popping! Even though it was later in the evening, the restaurant was still really full. However we didn't have to wait too long to get seated. I loved the decor in here, such neat details and even a column with a dragon on it! So cool. It's a dark restaurant so it was hard to read the menu, but otherwise, it's a very cool vibe here and feels very lounge-y. Our server was awesome, he was friendly and explained the restaurant style to us - it's like tapas, you order a few items to share and recommended 2 - 3 items per person would be sufficient. It was only 2 of us and we shared 3 items total, and that was more than enough. We apparently arrived so late that our server informed us that we only had a short time before the kitchen was closing for the night. But he said that he would return before the kitchen closed in case we wanted to order additional menu items. We were intrigued by the Japanese/Peruvian fusion menu and tried a few things: Kuromitsu Brussel Sprouts Spicy Salmon Fritas Bo Bo Chicken I was most excited about the Bo Bo Chicken a it had a sichuan chili oil and I love spicy, but it was not spicy at all (to me). But the flavor was really good. My favorite was the Brussels sprouts. I loved the char on them and the ginger black honey on it was so good. I don't eat salmon, but my friend said the Salmon Fritas was great and really enjoyed them. I would say this was the best meal we had on our trip!
