Peking Duck (extra $20 if you want to take home the bones)

Neptune is located at the Marine Gateway complex. Food-wise and ambience-wise is pretty good - the space is bright, spacious, clean. Free parking on P2 underground (look for their section) or register your license plate# with the restaurant. Dinner service and value is much better than at their dimsum time though so stick to coming here for dinner. Here's a breakdown: They have daily dinner specials on Weekdays. 2-Course Peking Duck Tuesdays for $60 is especially popular and they do their duck well! And their beef and eggplant dish at dinner is a must get, so flavorful. Maybe because it's less hectic, but service is more personal and attentive at night. Their dimsum, on the other hand, is decent but I haven't found a dish that would make me go back because they do it best. They charge for tea for kids and charge 2.4% surcharge if paying by CC (which they don't at night). Just feels like a lot of nickel and diming for a higher-end restaurant. So yeah, they are great for dinner though.

Everyone told me how great this place was for dim sum but I was disappointed. It was overpriced and food was similar to other places. The service was not top notch. Very different experience the dinner I had there for an event.

I came today on an invite for an engagement party. We were in a private room with 3 tables of 10 each. The 3rd table was a bit cramped but it was ok. Service was good although there were times when server couldn't catch up with changing plates for all 3 tables. Food was amazing today. I guess Chinese laureate banquets on a weekend are all taken cared of by more senior chefs. Dishes were all very delicious.

You don't find many restaurants like this in the US. Check out Tai Wu in Millbrae, CA, US. Check out Tai Wu Restaurant (https://yelp.to/R7eFWNZOG5) You will find these large restaurant with private rooms in China. This seating was a birthday celebration and so the menu was special. Steak cubes, fish collar, succulent roasted pig, king crab legs, crab fried in salted egg batter and more. Many Seafood Chinese restaurants serve dishes that are similar to others. There are a few specialties and presentations that sets them apart to others. Neptune Seafood Restaurant certainly set themselves apart. This is southern China style. The food quality was special in that the taste was subtle, full of flavor, and fresh. The service is attentive and friendly. The facilities are top notch with a Chinese French motif. Karaoke and large TV in the larger rooms. I would definitely bring family here. Yelp Grading This is my rating system to help you gauge my ratings Anything under three stars is not worth mentioning. Meh. *** stars - Good overall. Some aspects are above the notch: food, service, and or ambiance. Worthy of a visit. **** Stars - Exceptional, short of perfect. ***** Stars - Perfect in all aspects. Another year end shoutout to Neptune for dim sum and dinner. Neptune is one of my default dim sum restaurant because they have various locations and I find they have consistent food quality and good service. Their locations across town all offer decent parking options and flexible hours of operation. Parking at this location was free for 90 min. Look for their designated spots in the lot. Then when you arrive upstairs at restaurant, just write down your license plate on the little slip of parking paper the server will give you when you place your food order. Ambiance here is quite modern with fancy lighting and decor fit for a traditional Chinese wedding banquet. Service here is usually prompt and I tend to visit Neptune for late brunch instead of lunch. Overall, I find their service level quite consistent even during busier times. Dim sum at Neptune = yummy comfort foods for me because it reminds me of my dim sum days with Grandma

Deep-Fried Shrimp Spring Rolls ($9.68): crispy and nice!

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE 3.5 stars - the food is good, the environment nice, but it's like the Ritz when it comes to pricing and service is hit or miss because it's so busy. You're also likely waiting a lot if you didn't make a reservation :) === 2. FOOD - Lobster with Fried Crystal Noodles ($39.80) - I wish there was a lot more noodle at this price... - Shrimp Dumplings ($10.68) - Nothing special about these four other than they were good! - Sui Mai ($10.68) - Five truffle-covered ones -yum! - Shanghai Dumplings ($10.98) - Four juicy ones - nice! - Deep-Fried Shrimp Spring Rolls ($9.68) - Four, and they're good. - Rice Roll with Chinese Donut ($10.98) - The seaweed on top is a nice touch - tasty! - Half Chicken Tossed in Truffle ($28.98) - Good but maple it's sloppily applied with too much onion... - Bunny-Shaped Coconut Milk ($9.68) - Hard to eat these innocent-looking things lol - Pear-Shaped Matcha Custard Rice ($9.98) - Kind of neat and cool! - Steamed Chinese Sausage Rolls ($9.98) - Decorated to be like piggies...I think! === 3. SERVICE Up and down: for starters, be sure to speak Cantonese or Mandarin as that seems to work well; English is a little more challenging for a number of the staff. Dining in works well where they will try and service is reasonable even when it's busy (which is always is). Takeout may be challenging depending on what staff member is near the front with the hordes of people waiting for tables or takeout. Simply stay quiet and look for your takeout on one of the mysteriously-placed tables in the front :) === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's relatively modern without being overly-Asian in decor and accommodates groups large and small. Wheelchairs and baby strollers will fit easily. Parking is available in the underground structure, with 90 minutes being complimentary.

Nice ambiance in big spacious dining hall. Parking is also complimentary. However, dinner is disappointing with nothing really stands out. Fresh cod fish (2.5 lbs) is meaty but tough. The BBQ duck (half) is also tough. The pea leaves is overcooked and mushy. The daily soup tastes homemade (and bland). Attentive service and change plates multiple times for us. The hot water candle was not lit from the beginning and no one bother to check.

My sons school had their lunar new year dinner here and it was wonderful! The food was delicious and served well. There was plenty of space for entertainment and even a Photo Booth! The 10 courses were all very tasty. The table setting was meticulous.

Never having tried this branch which directly Above marine drive station - canada Line. With the name Neptune, once can only expect great things. From the outside, looks unassuming but once you step in, place is huge and very modern. Very bright and glitzy with chandeliers and all. And to my surprise, they had a Michellin guide Recommended list. Lots of special on the menu...we decided on the peking duck ( 2 courses) plus 5 main entrees $249. Sorry not much for photos as we were so hungry we forgot to take good pics. Anyhow, the duck was presented whole before carved. Served table side so you can see the entire duck being carved, and every skin piece and meat sliver laid on the table. No cheating. Both skin and slices were sliced and served separately so you can enjoy best of both worlds. Crepes came in 2 steamers. Other dishes were xo abd dried scallop fried rice. So good and flakes of scallop everywhere. Satay vermecelli and seafood. Again, another winner. Salt and pepper squid. Huge servings of pipping hot squid with tons of fried chilies and garlic. So so good! Then we had the 2 kinds of bbq. roasted pork and bbq pork. The roasted pork was awesome. Tender and succulent and skin very crispy the bbq pork was a bit fatty and tasted day old. Not fresh. The meat has already absorbed most of the sauces, which tells me they have been swimming in the sauce the whole day. So just ok. What i didnt like about the place was the constant upsell. They were pushing us to get the lingcod combo which came with 2 courses fish, then 5 other dishes but selections were not that great. Lots of veggies. We had to insist on we wanted the peking duck, so they brought us the menu. Even then they wanted to push us to order more veggie and noodle dishes. But hey, we are smarter than that. As soon as they found out we could speak chinese, they let us be lol. Another issue we had was we ordered the 2 kinds bbq. Roast pork and roast duck, as this was what the server told us. Lo abd behold, without warning, they gave us roast pork and bbq pork. When told it was wrong...they said they will check, and as it turns out, they were out of roasted duck. So we said, the server said it was available....you cant just change it without consulting with us first and asking if it was okZ what if we wanted another dish instead? So they apologized and said they will give us more bbq pork. Service was quick and food came hot and fresh. Everyone was so full. The course was good for 6, we were 6 adults and 3 kids. Still had a little leftovers. All things considered...i had a nice experience, overall food quality was superb. The duck was very good. Cant praise it enough. No after taste. Crispy skin. Juicy meat. Expertly carved by hand. I would repeat for sure and try the Dimsum next. They are having 15% disc if all Orders are in by 1130am. Tip: they have free parking un the parkade as well. Just look for their designated spots and list your plate no once you are seated. Cheers! Happy eating!

met up with friends for a saturday dim sum feast at 12:30 pm, and the place was buzzing. reservations were made and we still had to wait a few minutes before we were seated. the service was exceptional, attentive, and caring. they made sure to check on our tea and hot water multiple times, promptly brought glasses of ice cold water, hot mustard, and chili sauce upon request, and even thoughtfully offered to cut the spring rolls. a nice touch that enhanced the overall dining experience. complimentary 90 minute parking is available on p2; just provide your license plate. this michelin guide, recommended restaurant is located on the third floor. it's easy to get carried away when ordering until you see the prices. dim sum ranges from $11.38 to $18.98, with lunch specials, chef recommendations, and more. here's what we ordered: shrimp and pork shao mai dumplings (pleasantly surprised with five pieces, as we were a party of five) lean pork and century egg congee neptune shrimp dumplings (har kau) rice rolls with jumbo prawns and yellow chives rice rolls with beef and pea tips deep fried shrimp garlic spring rolls (standout) bean curd wraps with pork and mushroom in abalone sauce sticky rice with minced pork wrapped in lotus leaf black sesame seed paste rice flour balls pear shaped matcha black sesame rice balls (my favourite, though there were only four pears) note, eco-friendly takeout containers are $0.50 each, and paper bags are $0.75 each. we had the pleasure of savouring this delightful dim sum experience, generously treated by a dear and very generous friend.

No frills and worth the hype!…read more Our family of six arrived at 12 pm on a Tuesday. We waited approximately 25 minutes which is not bad at all considering how popular this small restaurant is. My mom is vegetarian and my girls had a wonton noodle soup lunch at another spot down the street. So we ordered a few things mainly for my dad, husband and myself: 1) Platter with barbecue pork and chicken (雙拼叉燒香油雞) 2) Half-order of roast duck (半隻脆皮燒鴨) 3) late of roast pork (燒肉) 4) Bowl of rice (一碗米飯) We cleared everything. The meats were juicy, tender, and flavorful. My girls are usually indifferent to Cantonese barbecued meats but they tried it and enjoyed everything as well. This is definitely a place to repeat if and when we revisit Vancouver.

This was my family and wife's first stop in Vancouver and frankly, nothing has topped it yet…read more You're getting some of the best HK BBQ possible. They ran out of duck but do not fret because the soya chicken is where it's at. The soya chicken is incredibly tender, even the breast meat is tender. Secondly, it's perfectly marinated and if you dab a little of their homemade soy sauce, it's even better. Eat this with rice and you'll never want another meal in your life. This was easily our favorite dish for the place. Bbq pork and crispy pork are both spot on as well. They give generous and juicy cuts and the crispy pork is, well, crispy. The skin is a nice crunch and the meat is juicy, what more could you ask for? I still salivate and dream of the meat here and I wish we had something like this back in LA cause I don't know who else would make soy chicken as good as here. Cash only so come prepared! If you're a US tourist, they take USD as well but canadian is still the better deal.

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.
