Better than any dim sum spot in Chicago. The hot tea was already a strong start. Porridge had excellent flavor. Beef chow fun had a ton of noodles and perfect for sharing. I strongly recommend these two dishes for a big party. Dim sum dishes were all good. My favorite was the one dish apparently unique to Canada - the eggplant prawn. The prawn is big and flavorful and of course you have to like eggplant. Service was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a ton of seating but this place is very popular so try to come early.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A pretty modern dim sum restaurant that is on the pricier side.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Coming from Los Angeles, I feel the dim sum restaurants in the SGV are better than here. Service: Staff working were very fast, efficient, and attentive to our table. They came around a few times to help us refill our water and tea without us asking. They even tried to help us save money when we asked for chili flakes and advised us to just get the free chili sauce. Food: The food was so so in my opinion. I liked how the portion was very generous though. Some dishes like the har gow and siu mai came with 5 pieces unlike the typical 3 or 4 from other dim sum places. However, not one dish stood out to me in terms of taste.

We stopped by on a weekday for lunch. Service was good and efficient. Food was pretty solid for dim sum standards. Prices were average for Richmond. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant ambiance is quite modern.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is free 2 hour parking with license plate registration. Overall, it was a good experience during the weekday dining hours. However, weekends and holidays are not as well organized when super busy.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Modern, upscale dim sum spot. There was no red velvet decor but they did have the classic crab tanks on display.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Efficient service although soy sauce and chili were available on an ask-basis. Food was good but honorable mentions include the chow fun and tripe/tendon. The shrimp in the chow fun was very fresh and the tripe/tendon was super tender and tasty! Generous portions. I would come back with a larger group (we dined as a party of 2)

For the past two years, the Deluxe has been our first stop on our drive up to Vancouver for some authentic dim sum. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is large, modern and airy, although the banquet rooms in the back are a bit dark.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They don't have carts, but as the dim sum is prepared to order, it's always fresh and piping. The classics are all good here - hau gau, shumai, dumplings, and pork ribs in black bean sauce. They also have some more unique items, and our favorite is a mochi that is stuffed with pork. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Tips - make an online reservation in advance, and park at Aberdeen Centre as their lot is small and fills up quickly.

More on expensive side. Food was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Keep in mind that its super busy though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was helpful as much as they could be.

First off, the spot came highly recommended from a Richmond local. We asked for the top Dim Sum spots and this totally came in at #1 for this area. I can honestly understand why. First off, my husband and I were probably part of the 8 people in the restaurant that were not Chinese. We were greeted at the front by the hostess and guided to our seat almost immediately. We were presented with the menu for ordering and ended up choosing 12 dishes. It was funny because the server kept checking to see that we wanted to order all of these dishes and that we must've been hungry. First off, the portion sizes were huge! I think Im just used to a different experience altogether with smaller portions offered and someone offering items on a cart. When we got the dishes, we divided up based on our preferences. I did notice that the dishes were a lot larger, tasted more fresh than some other dim sum spots we have been to before. There seemed to be an endless supply of tea and water. The dishes were flavorful, the right amount of tenderness, and huge portions. Each dish tasted fresh and like it was freshly made on the spot. After we reached max capacity, we had the leftovers boxed up...it was 2 meals worth of leftovers! They brought out the bill and swiped the card on a portable card reader. I did see that they charged for each bag used for our leftovers (standard practice to charge for any bag). After that epic meal, we had to do some walking around, but it was well worth it. Compliments to the chef! No wonder the place was pretty packed throughout our dining experience. Thank you!

Clockwise, starting from top left: - Rice rolls - Crab meat egg whites dumplings - Shrimp paste on eggplants - Meatballs

We happened to be in Richmond and so we thought we gave this dim sum restaurant a try. We went there after lunch (almost 2pm) so the place wasn't busy at all. We ordered 4 dim sum items, and the quality was excellent! The food was hot. Personally I like the rice rolls because they were soft and chewy. They also gave you enough mixed sauces for rice rolls. They kind of brought back childhood memories! As for the dumplings, the skin is the same one that is used in har gow and only the fillings are different (with crab meat and egg white instead of shrimps). The texture of the skin was smooth, soft and chewy so you know they were fresh and were not over-steamed. The dumplings were juicy and very tasty! The shrimp paste on the eggplants was very crispy and juicy. The eggplants were fresh and were not oily after being deep fried. I'm not much keen on deep fried foods but these eggplants were delicious! The meatballs are my mom's favorite, I don't usually order them because most of the meat balls I had didn't taste like beef at all and there was usually a lot of fat. But these ones at Deluxe were very springy and juicy. I really enjoyed the texture of these meat balls; the tangerine zest added a bit of flavor. They tasted even better after you dipped them into the Worcestershire sauce. Overall, I really liked the dim sum there and will go back for more!

Come to this restaurant with high expectations, but the results were very disappointing, the dishes were made very rough, the Sauted sea cucumber muscles priced at $88, the meat was not fresh and celery is so over grown , most of them were hard and not eatable, the other dishes were also not cheap but tasteless, overall it is not comparable to my favorite Chinese restaurant in San Francisco, 岭南小馆。 if you come from California, USA, don't waste your money, most of Chinese restaurants are better in bay area

After departing the airport, I was whisked here for Dim Sum brunch. Yay, it had been years. This place is very popular. Even with reservations, be ready to wait. Dishes tried? Steamed Honey BBQ pork buns Mixed Mushroom with pork dumpling Deep Fried garlic prawn spring roll House Special Wild Rice Rolls Seafood congee Steamed spareribs in black bean sauce Chiu-chow dumplings with prawns, pork & peanuts Chow Mein Stand out? House Special Wild Rice Rolls. Chewy outside, crunchy inside and anything with shrimp/prawns was excellent because everything tasted fresh. Too much food for our group, but if we had a couple more people that would have been ideal. Go with a group and try a bit of everything.

Deluxe is the best description for this restaurant. The food is fancy and it has a high price to match. For special occasions and just looking for a place to sit down to have good food with good friends, you can't go wrong by coming to The Deluxe Chinese Restaurant in Vancouver. The dining area was slightly crowded but still comfortable. The service was relatively fast. I'd be back and order everything I ate again.

Really liking the setting and decor. It is very spacious compared to other dim sum restaurants. But even with the bigger space (= less customers) I find that the service is slow compared to the other restaurants with smaller tighter spaces. Had to ask multiple times for the same item to get it. It is also worth noting that you should try to get a reservation before you arrive, but also that a reservation is very flexible. We booked a reservation for 10:15 a couple weeks early, but was asked, the day before, to come in at 9:45 or we'll lose our reservation. Food is good, but the owner should probably also invest more in getting more service staff. They share a parking lot with Hao's Lamb, can get full when it's busy.

At this time, the Deluxe is my most favorite Dimsum place in BC. They serve rice noodles (rice rolls) that some other places don't serve. Chicken feet is good. Recommended: dumpling with scallops and truffle, chicken feet special sauce, beef tendons , Not recommended: soufflé. It's just a giant soufflé with nothing special.

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.

I used to come here often with friends and families for breakfast and wanted to see whether it still tasted just as good. We each got two items from the breakfast combo, A through D. A to Cs are our usual options and upgrade to French toast. The eggs were somewhat on the drier side and i personally prefer fluffy ones. The beef noodles and the congee continue to be my favorites. The beef noodle broth is flavorful and the congee definitely comforted my soul. The items listed in D are always a miss. We have tried all items and none of them was delicious. For example, the steamed rice rolls were very doughy. Other times, they were very dry. The items in D sometimes felt like they're frozen dim sum items sold at grocery stores. Service is a hit or miss depending on which server you get. Sometimes you get servers who come and refill tea and provides actual service. Other times, no one comes by at all even when there is no tea in cups, etc.
