After dining here a few times, Deluxe is definitely a solid spot for those who crave for some delicious dim sum. Things to Note: - Parking: There is a parking lot next to the building that Deluxe is located in. However, spots are often limited and you have to make sure you register your car with Deluxe if you choose to park there to avoid getting a ticket. Otherwise, there is street parking nearby. - Price Point: Tad bit pricier than other places but there is a larger variety of items to choose from and most dishes are quite good with the quality. - Service: It's not the greatest nor the worst. Each dim sum is very large portion compared to other restaurants. Recommend the shrimp dumplings 蝦餃, you can taste the entire shrimp! The 韭菜盒子 was delicious with chewy skin. I really enjoyed this spot for Chinese dim sum. The quality of the food was very good -- every dish we ordered was delicious, though I did feel the prices were a bit on the higher side. The menu is the classic dim sum selection, and everything we tried was well-prepared and flavorful. The only challenge was that our receipt was written entirely in Chinese, which made it difficult to double-check what we were charged for. A couple of items we ordered didn't arrive, and while we later realized we weren't charged for them, having an English translation on the bill would make the process much clearer. We had a wonderful lunch May 30, 2026 with top notch service from Jay. He was patient, knowledgeable and attentive, making sure to answer all of our questions about the menu. First off, the spot came highly recommended from a Richmond local. We asked for the top Dim Sum spots and this totally came in at #1 for this area. I can honestly understand why. First off, my husband and I were probably part of the 8 people in the restaurant that were not Chinese. We were greeted at the front by the hostess and guided to our seat almost immediately. We were presented with the menu for ordering and ended up choosing 12 dishes. It was funny because the server kept checking to see that we wanted to order all of these dishes and that we must've been hungry. First off, the portion sizes were huge! I think Im just used to a different experience altogether with smaller portions offered and someone offering items on a cart. When we got the dishes, we divided up based on our preferences. I did notice that the dishes were a lot larger, tasted more fresh than some other dim sum spots we have been to before. There seemed to be an endless supply of tea and water. The dishes were flavorful, the right amount of tenderness, and huge portions. Each dish tasted fresh and like it was freshly made on the spot. After we reached max capacity, we had the leftovers boxed up...it was 2 meals worth of leftovers! They brought out the bill and swiped the card on a portable card reader. I did see that they charged for each bag used for our leftovers (standard practice to charge for any bag). After that epic meal, we had to do some walking around, but it was well worth it. We happened to be in Richmond and so we thought we gave this dim sum restaurant a try. We went there after lunch (almost 2pm) so the place wasn't busy at all. We ordered 4 dim sum items, and the quality was excellent! The food was hot. Personally I like the rice rolls because they were soft and chewy. They also gave you enough mixed sauces for rice rolls. They kind of brought back childhood memories! As for the dumplings, the skin is the same one that is used in har gow and only the fillings are different (with crab meat and egg white instead of shrimps). The texture of the skin was smooth, soft and chewy so you know they were fresh and were not over-steamed. The dumplings were juicy and very tasty! The shrimp paste on the eggplants was very crispy and juicy. The eggplants were fresh and were not oily after being deep fried. I'm not much keen on deep fried foods but these eggplants were delicious! The meatballs are my mom's favorite, I don't usually order them because most of the meat balls I had didn't taste like beef at all and there was usually a lot of fat. But these ones at Deluxe were very springy and juicy. I really enjoyed the texture of these meat balls; the tangerine zest added a bit of flavor. Really liking the setting and decor. It is very spacious compared to other dim sum restaurants. But even with the bigger space (= less customers) I find that the service is slow compared to the other restaurants with smaller tighter spaces. Had to ask multiple times for the same item to get it. It is also worth noting that you should try to get a reservation before you arrive, but also that a reservation is very flexible. We booked a reservation for 10:15 a couple weeks early, but was asked, the day before, to come in at 9:45 or we'll lose our reservation. I came here with a group of friends for dim sum one morning and it was amazing. I've never had dim sum in Vancouver before (I'm from the States) and the experience was so much better. The inside of the restaurant was so big and spacious, with lots of tables and it felt very clean. We came towards the end of lunch, so there weren't many, if any, carts being pushed around (if they even did that). But because my friends were showing me the place, they ordered everything from the menu. The food took a while to come out and came out one-by-one rather all at once/close to each other. We got the ha cao, siu mai, shrimp rice rolls, pork, egg custard buns, egg soup, and a fried rice with roe on top. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend the fried rice--I've never had anything like it. Came for dinner and not happy with the waiter service. Basically services from jacket waiters are 0, the only thing he did was take the orders we input on the iPad into the system and even that he missed the second page item. A few of them kept socializing with our neighbor tables as they ordered live seafood. The bus girl service on the other hand was exceptional, she helped us not only with changing plates and chasing down slow order, but also packed up left over dessert and gave me utensils. The tea service was interesting as they don't let the tea sit in the pot for continuous brewing, they'll pour it to a different container but keep it on a warmer. For food, they are generally light in flavoring. The BBQ quail was not crispy skinned and it needed the salt to have taste. The pork in shrimp paste was misleading as the picture on the menu showed grilled pork while the plate arrived with deep fried pork and half of them are pure fat. The sticky rice was ok with a big portion as well. The garlic and sprouts leave stir fry is also missing salt. The best is the complementary dessert which is grass jelly in coconut and white topioca soup. It came with a good portion too. All the dishes were priced high, the cheapest dish I saw was 28CAN. EXCEPTIONAL dinner! Probably the best Chinese food I've ever had in US and Vancouver. Service was warm and friendly with no doubt, and the atmosphere was comfortable. In terms of the food, we went there for the lobster, but the sautéed shrimp and asparagus was definitely the star with the WOW factor. It may look like a simple dish, but to make it this exceptional, it relies heavily on the ingredients, the techniques involved, as well as the thoughts put into this dish. The shrimp was beautifully cooked to be warm and tender as the same time, and the asparagus and mushroom were totally on par. The seasoning seemed simple but was absolutely delicious. Merely Deluxe prices... Last couple of times here was way back, forgot when, think I am losing my memory lol. Anyways having my car serviced at the bmer place so decided to drop by here for some dim sum. This place is located right beside Aberdeen Center on No.3 Road, its parking lot is at the back. Inside is decently spacious and bright, a somewhat typical Chinese seafood restaurant style which I wouldn't go as far as grand or exquisite. And it's far from fine dining standards as it describes itself. Here were the food I ordered this time around; 1. Chrysanthemum tea (tea is $3/person). Came in 2 glass pots, 1 on top of a little flame underneath to keep it hot. 2. Dried oyster and shredded dried scallop congee. Pretty flavourful and congee was smooth. 3. Steamed chicken feet with special sauce. Special sauce? (Roll eyes) pretty basic like most dim sum places. 4. Steamed spareribs with black bean sauce. Another basic dim sum dish but could cut the ribs in smaller pieces instead of huge chunks. 5. Steamed beef tripes and tendons. Once again, smaller pieces so easier to eat and not looking so messy. 6. Steamed crabmeat with egg white dumplings. Not a fan of imitation crabmeat in cooked asian dishes. 7. Beef and egg rice rolls. Too thick, missing that silky smooth texture and the beef and egg were fused together poorly. Best rice rolls are from Guangdong and you are a Guangdong restaurant?!? 8. Beef teriyaki with eggplant. The beef cubes were too big and tough to eat, need to tenderize the meat or start using tenderloin like most higher end dim sum places do. 9. Steamed sponge cake. Pretty basic, just wanted a bit of sweetness in my mouth from all the msg lol. This place is one of the many options in the Richmond area for dim sum or Chinese food, after all it's called little Hong Kong for a reason but it should change its nickname to Little China now. However the reality is, actual Chinese food is still way better in China or Hong Kong and the service there are unparalleled compared to here. The service here is just like another typical family Chinese restaurant, nothing fine dining or wow to. You sit down, tea served, serve your food, pay your bill and out the door you go (hahaha), maybe just maybe by accident you get a thank you or bye. DEF make a reservation, you might still have to wait even with one. The shrimp dumplings are for sure the best in Vancouver - super plump and fresh shrimp and thin skin. I also love their red bean pancake and their egg hor fun is pretty good. Tried this place as a last resort because those JERKS at Chef Tony wouldn't let us in without a reservation!! And they were so rude to us! Even though I'd been wanting to go there for years! Arggghhh! Anyway, this place wasn't a compromise, at all! Service was warm and friendly, the decor was fancy, and the food was great. The siu mai was topped with truffles and scallops and was delicious! The bean curd wraps with prawn were another highlight, packed with fresh tasting prawn. The durian rice cake (basically just durian mochi) were a bit of a miss for me, and the congee was good but didn't stand out. Richmond seems to have lots of these "luxury" dim sum places, which unfortunately we don't have too many of in the GTA. To be fair, the food is ok, but average at best even by Seattle standards. On the surface it seems they still have the same menu, but execution was poor all over the place. Spare ribs are not fully cooked through. Chicken fingers are too spicy for an authentic cantonese. Congee has lots of stuff thrown in but not cooked to bring any flavor out. The food is edible but not satisfying. Considering they charge almost the highest dim sum price anywhere at well over $10 a plate, it's definitely not recommended. read more

The food quality had been pretty consistent until my last 2 visits, I am sure the regular Chef (especially the Dim Sum Chef) is on vacation or have since changed. As I recall some of the dishes were completely different in flavours and presentation. As I always mentioned in my other reviews, as consumers, we are always looking for consistency and quality. Seems it is very hard to maintain in todays high food cost and overall cost of maintaining a restaurant which is a labour intensive type of business. Prices at Deluxe has always been on the high side, but its worth the money when you consider the overall service and interior decor. It is still one of the better places in Richmond where you don't feel the table are too cramped together, and you always have the choice to sit in the individual rooms. Dim Sum: Steamed bean curds - it's good and filling Steamed chiu chow style dumplings - it's not authentic chiu chow style dumplings coz the skin too thick and no peanut inside. Chicken feets - it's tasty Steamed traditional sponge cake - it's giant sponge cake. It's so fresh, soft and delicious. Shrimp dumplings - it's good but not great. Mango matcha glutinous wrap - it's ok. The wrap pretty crunchy but not my cup of tea. Deep fried shrimp and pork glutinous dumplings - it's flavourful and yummy. I like the crunchy outside and tasty ingredients inside, pretty mouthful texture. Dinner: Black truffle chicken - free range chicken so tender and mixed up a lot of black truffle. It's fantastic. Premium soy sauce lobster - it's divine! Fresh lobster and cooked perfectly. Vinegar and cane sugar pork loin - slightly sweet and pork loin taste good. As with all of the good Cantonese restaurants in the area, it's a good idea to get a reservation if you want to come for dimsum on weekends or holidays. Went there for dimsum and got about 10 different items. This place has a more modern style for their dimsum and they put a spin on the traditional dimsum items. The signature is their egg tart, which look like little tubs. They taste delicious. All of the other things we got were excellent. The chicken feet had skin that melted off the bone, and really good flavor on the beef tendons and steamed pork ribs. Total came to about $120 for 5 people. The wait system is a joke. The front desk lady is also a joke. Shady practices where you have to know the front desk or bribe them to get a table. Poor management and communication. Periodically we would ask how long it would take and they said 45 minutes, then that extended to 2 hrs and then they expect us to believe it would only take 15 more minutes. Feel free to go here is you have lots of time to kill, otherwise I'd avoid establishments that lie and can't communicate proper wait times. I'd suggest they go with an automated system, because they're hand write and cross out names indiscriminately so there is no visibility into who is actually in line. read more
