I had a problem this year (for the first time ever) with my pool holding chlorine, where after 2 hours of shocking (Using Leslies Power Powder Plus, which they say is the best you can get), the water registered ZERO free and ZERO available chlorine. Leslies tested my water and all other readings (CYA, TA, CH, ETC) were fine. They tested for Nitrates (Something I had no idea about) and told me it was 30 ppm and I had to drain 3-4' of water from my pool to dilute the Nitrates. I mistakenly listened and did this, causing me to have to re add stabilizer and calcium hardness up (over $200 worth), at my expense, not to mention the expense of adding water. Shocked my pool again. ZERO Chlorine after 2 hours! They now suggested that I drain the entire pool and refill it. I THEN WENT TO CHEMEX in Smithtown for another opinion. The owner, Charlie, suggested I try his liquid chlorine before doing another thing. He said my pool calls for 2 1/2 gallons but "just use 2 gallons" at a cost of $10... Low and behold, My chlorine held for 15 hours already. The problem was that, in my opinion, Leslies chlorine that I was sold, is sub par. The water was fine. I do not blame the young kid who tested the water. I blame Leslies "training" and questionable "methods of operation". I highly recommend Chemex in Smthtown. The owner is an honest, straight shooter, his staff is competent and properly trained, and his ELECTRONIC water testing equipment appears to be far superior than what I have been subject to elsewhere. If you want honesty and a fair experience, look no further that CHEMEX , 400 W. Main St, Smithtown.

Mind you this was before 9 o'clock in the morning. When she asked how she could move it if it wasn't operating, his response was to put the car in neutral and push it. After a month, a long time but I thought they were good, i took a sample to Hampton Bays Leslie Pools. They told me to stop dumping all that stuff in the pool. Then we corrected one problem. A week later the pool was doing better. I brought another water sample and they set me up with what I needed to maintain the pool. Well worth the drive to Hampton Bays. John's knows their stuff so I am confused why they were just selling me lots of expensive chemicals that I did not need.

A few weeks later a crew came over to measure the pool. About 2 weeks later the pool cover arrived with the crew in tow. The application of the pool cover was relatively seamless until the end when one of the members of the crew urinated by our pool house prior to leaving then I observed him "rinsing" his hands in the pool. I immediately called him out on it and he looked embarrassed I put the money I was about to hand to them back in my wallet and called the company. When I called the company to let them know what happened the representative Eric just said "sorry about that" and that he was "speechless". Really?! Not sure of the pool cover itself time will tell as it's still the middle of summer but the customer service was trash! I would say try another pool cover company I'm sure there are better that are more affordable and with better customer service.
