DO NOT EAT HERE YOU WILL GET SICK $25 for 4 slices of odd tasting pizza, an akward phone call 2 hrs later letting you know they burnt your pizza a few times and swear they will get it right THIS time, an antipasto salad with a foreskin worth of salami, a tiny jiz of dressing (if you ask for more than the 1/2 TEASPOON worth for the $6.99 salad they have the delivery driver put some pepper in vegtable oil and send it over); oh and did I mention a 2+ HR WAIT FOR DELIVERY? Worst service/food i've ever experienced! Pizza is always room temp, overpriced and includes a scattering of almost spoiled ingredients. I love the philosophy of farm to table and everything about Jersey Pizza... except the pizza. It seemed very light duty on toppings cheese and sauce. I wish it was more flavorful. Disgusting. The edges were black and burned and the middle was droopy slop. We actually had to order another meal from Pizza Hut after receiving this! We called them and were told everybody likes it but us. Whatever. It was gross and we spent over $75 to get a stupid pizza delivered to our hotel that night. read more

Visiting a friend in Flagstaff while on vacation, thought I'd try the local pizza and this place was recommended. I had a 12" pie with tomatoes, roasted chili peppers, and roasted garlic. I had it delivered and it arrived after very reasonable 40 minutes. The problem was, it arrived cold. Not freezing, but not even lukewarm. The taste was okay, but for such a highly rated place I expected better. Would not recommend the delivery option. read more

A hidden gem on the east end of Flagstaff. Everything is super fresh and tasty, and they clearly care about the quality and source of their ingredients. It's a bit expensive, but good value for genuine New York style gourmet pizza, and they're always friendly there. We've only ever gotten takeout and the thin crust cools quickly - it might be better to eat it there while it's hot and fresh, though the small dining area appears a bit sad (and usually empty). A cozier, more inviting dining area might encourage more dine-in customers and boost business. This place is so much better than Fratellis or NiMarcos. read more

I first learned of New Jersey Pizza 10 years ago when my son was an NAU student. He worked there, and highly recommended all the food. The Phoenix area has no shortage of great pizza, but a meal at New Jersey Pizza is a must every time my wife and I are in Flagstaff. We were too full to order dessert the last time we were there, but we were offered a taste of their chocolate sauce. Wow! We bought some to take home. If you are hungry, in a hurry or not interested in waiting a VERY LONG TIME, this place is not for you. We waited more than an hour for our food. The ingredients were fresh and the pizza was good.....but not worth the very long wait. The server was apologetic. If they had been super busy, it might have been OK. While we were there, four take out orders were picked up. There were three tables with customers. That is a total of seven pizzas.....not super busy....very long wait. It just did not add up. Out of towners and looking for a good pizza joint on Yelp. Nearly all of the reviews of this place stated that the service and pizza are slow to the table. Boy were they right! After sitting at the table for a good 10 min., our stoned waiter informed us that they did not have any ice available. (I guess a trip to the closest gas station for a bag of ice for your guests in August is out of the question.) With only 2 other guests in the "dining room", our pizza took 30 minutes to arrive. The pizza was so-so, nothing special. When we asked for a side of marinara to dip our crust in, the stoned waiter brought a little plastic container of cold pasta sauce. Great, thanks-just what I was hoping for. There was never any explanation or apology for the long wait time or lackluster experience. Just another mediocre restaurant experience from a joint that, like so many others, appears to be run by a bunch of idiot kids while dad is away. read more

Have you ever seen the "Soup Nazi" episode on Seinfeld? Well, I would call the main guy here the "Pizza Nazi". I think his name might be Marco. He is PASSIONATE about his art...and it shows in the pizza. Hands down the best pizza in Flagstaff and, in my opinion, all of Arizona. This place is tiny and easy to drive right by. My wife and I lived in Flagstaff for over 15 years and only discovered it by accident about 5 years ago. It is in a pretty much off the beaten path part of Flagstaff but well worth the trip. We have since moved down to Phoenix and all I can say is that I miss going to NJPC, La Fonda, Kachina, Diablo Burger and Mamma Luisa. More reviews on those places will be coming soon. I would definitely recommend take out at NJPC. The dine-in experience is not so great. You will wait a long time for take out and a really long time for dine in. Know this going into it and you will be fine. I think the Pizza Nazi is so passionate about his art that he wants your pie to come out hot and fresh for you and not sit around getting cold and nasty while you wrap things up at Walmart. This is why he almost always waits to put your pie in the oven until you show your ugly mug in his restaurant (even when you called ahead for a pick-up order). This is the reason for the wait. We stopped in Flagstaff while driving from CA to OK. We stayed at a little hotel during a snowstorm for which we were not prepared. We are not great admirers of the chain pizza places because they use, in our opinions, a hugely unnecessary amount of cheese. We found New Jersey Pizza on Yelp and called to see if they would deliver in the snow. They charged a $2.00 delivery fee and were very reasonably priced. The woman on the phone was very helpful in deciding what to order. She quoted the delivery time perfectly. When she delivered the pizza they included a bag labeled "fixins." The fixins bag contained plastic silverware, 2 plates, many napkins, and red pepper flakes. We hadn't requested this bag of fixins, and they may provide this service to everyone, but I like to think they assumed we would need the extra items because we were in a hotel room in a snowstorm. Pizza is delicious, chicken wings are just terrible (very dry). However, the reason for this review is the horrible customer service and the timeliness of the deliveries. The last three times we have ordered pizza, it has taken three hours to be delivered (no exaggeration here!). You would think we would have learned our lesson, but decided to give them one more chance. Ordered a delivery for the fourth time, and it took two hours for delivery after a quoted 35 - 65 min. delivery time. Called three times to check on status, and every time was told "just another 15 minutes". Finally, after speaking with two managers, our meal was comped. While we appreciate this gesture very much, we will not be ordering form NJ Pizza Co. ever again. read more

I can't believe this place is still in business. Just tried it again for the first time in six years, and I was again disappointed. The pizza is average to maybe slightly above average, but the service is so bad it actually angered me. I was told to pick-up my pizza in 20 minutes, after I ordered it in store, then came back in 30 and still had to wait another 20 after that. No explanation, no apology, no nothing, except a hair in my salad when I got home and opened my food containers. NJ Pizza Co was the first restaurant in Flagstaff to adopt the Slow Food/Buy Local movement. All of their ingredients, from the tomatoes to the homemade mozzarella are fresh and delicious. This is by far my favorite pizza in Flagstaff. No, it is not quick, but take the time to chat with Marco, the owner while you wait. He is a really great guy and an awesome chef. I'm not sure what the reviewer that criticized the sauce was on when he wrote that, but the sauce at NJ has always been one of my favorite parts of the pizza. I love the "Mario" (which isn't on the menu anymore--but you can still get it if you ask). Marco's desserts are absolutely to die for--if you see some in the case when you get there, make sure you make room for one--you won't regret it. I am very sad that they are leaving our side of town to move downtown, but I wish them the best. read more

So sorry my previous review was low... We went during the day the first time and it was empty. (And difficult to find. Note: they are in Cedar Plaza.) Not sure why they were closed that day but the business is def open and amazing. We called in tonight (after reviewing other Yelpers who told us about a crazy wait) and the nice guy on the other end of the line told us that calling in an order would be the fastest. The pizza was waiting when we got there, stil hot, and very delicious. We ordered the vegan pizza which is good (but FYI there is no cheese on it) and learned that if you are not vegan but are simply lactose intolerant, they have a real cheese that is lactose free. Hands down the best pizza in Flagstaff. In my opinion, the pizza here could even hold its own against some of the big boys on the east coast (I'm lookin' at you NYC). The crust is the perfect combination of crispiness and chewiness, the sauce is flavorful, and the homemade mozzarella ties it all together in a perfect package. It doesn't stop there though. The toppings are from local farms, and you can't go around with almost any of them. Buffalo wings are some of the best I've ever had, and the salads are typically fresh and crisp. Only drawback is the out of the way location, but I guess that keeps the crowds out. Keep up the great work guys. Flagstaff could use more places of this caliber. read more

I typically visit Flagstaff every year. This year I heard of this place through Jamie at Satchmos BBQ. I gave it a shot and was nothing but pleased. They use all fresh ingredients. Next to each of the toppings on the list of toppings they tell where they got it from. They try to support local farmers and use farmers markets as often as possible as well as organic. Super friendly staff. I got a pepperoni pizza with roasted garlic...awesome. Be advised that you will probably have to wait longer than the time they give you...they are popular and get a lot of business. Don't get all whiney because you have to wait longer if you want fast food go to McDonald's and eat your meat type product. This is good food and expect that you may have to wait a little bit longer for it. Price is very reasonable. Paid 15 dollars for a bit pizza. Flagstaff area is fairly expensive so this isn't that bad. read more

The first time I went to this place was on a Full Harvest Moon 3 years ago and it was so amazing I could not wait to go back. This weekend as we were taking my son back up to NAU we were able to return. It was more delicious than I remembered so fresh and light.
