We went thre on opening night and they were busy. The food was good, well priced, and the foods didn't taste the same. I love General Tao chicken. Didn't have the heat, but it was good. My fiancé and I came in for lunch and decided to try out the restaurant, the server was very kind and friendly. We got our soup with our lunch specials. We used to have an amazing Chinese place in Estacada but it closed and this place moved in, I was super excited because if you know Estacada you know we have an over abundance of Mexican food places and while I love tacos , I love me some Chinese! The decor is basically the same as before nice and clean a little cold at times but just wear a sweater... the menu is large but the combo meals just leave you wishing for different choices.....and no substitutes allowed...the food is ok but just not great it's all pretty much deep fried and a little greasy ... I was so hoping it would be delicious... the few stars are for the service the 3 times I visited they were amazing! read more

I haven't eaten sweet and sour pork in over ten years or more, because it's always gristly and unrewarding. Since sweet and sour pork was part of a dinner combo I wanted, I decided to try it. I was pleasantly surprised. This was the best sweet and sour pork I've ever had! It's so tender and a good portion size per piece, plus the sauce is wonderful. My husband tried it, and he's not a big sweet n sour pork person, but now he's hooked. We also love the subghum almond chicken and the fried shrimp. New Panda Restaurant is just what Estacada needed. There's not a lot of selection but this place sure does cook some quality Chinese. My daughter and I love that out new favorite Chinese is only 5 minutes away, oh, and the price is right. You'll have to check it out yourself, I'm sure you'll love it. read more

Servings of the Combo plates are generous. I'll grant them that. Food is seldom spicy, even ones w/the "chili pepper" image next to them in menu. They do have hot chili oil (which was not very hot, either). [I've put the Chinese Hot Mustard on my stuff, which is @ least hot, but alters the taste of the food to much; sometimes I resort to just a lot of black pepper.] Fried rice is under-seasoned. No fresh veg in it, it seems. No scrambled egg pieces. Dry. (Would be so much better if they'd mix in a bit of seasoned broth prior to plating it.) Fried shrimp is just right & tasty; delicate batter. Sometimes there are hard pieces of the shrimp tail that you have to spit out onto your napkin. Egg rolls are not in egg roll wrapper (which is a large wonton-type wrapper); they are seemingly dipped in a batter, then fried. (I've never had this batter-type egg roll until moving to Oregon; I got spoiled on San Francisco Bay Area egg rolls, I guess). I wonder if this battered type of egg roll I keep encountering in Oregon, which looks/tastes the same @ each different restaurant I get them @, is just pre-made & from SmartFoodService (formerly Cash&Carry), or some other restaurant food supplier? Sauces are commercially made, it seems, & cheap-tasting. Overly colored, too sweet. If you like overly sweet, uber-colorful sauce, you'll be pleased. I usually skip them. Mar-Far Chicken (strips of chicken, deep-fried in delicate batter) is delicious. Not too oily. Very disappointing Tofu Vegetable Soup: broth was virtually just water - - no veg. or veg. broth taste to it. But the Vegetables were cooked just right. Tofu good, but too little of it. [I have been too scared to try other soups. I will sometime, & will just send it back if broth tastes like plain water again.] Other than being ripped-off by the watery soup, the prices are fair. Mongolian Beef is tasty (but not spicy). Hot tea is great (but, they only provide regular table sugar & pink packets of old-style artificial sweetener: saccharine). Ice water is refreshing. If you want to use chop sticks, you must ask for them. [Chinese food I get from Safeway grocery stores that have Chinese food in the Deli section (alongside sandwich & fried chicken choices) is more flavorful, has better variety of ingredients, better-tasting sauces than New Panda, but Safeway's dishes are usually too oily, & their containers leak (& now, Safeway gives you a paper bag, which the oil leaks through). New Panda beats Safeway "fresh" Chinese food in that area. read more

My mom and I had lunch here yesterday and it was wonderful! We ate off the lunch menu and it was a big portion and tasted so good!! The service was very good and the restaurant was very clean. I really enjoy the food here. I like that they have take out and the food is always steaming hot and super fresh when I get it home. They poke extra holes in the top of the to-go container to prevent the food from steaming/cooking on your way home. I love that extra thought. I wish the red sauce was better.
