    This hot mustard is delicious!

Updating with latest menu photos. This is our newest favorite Chinese spot. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is large with tons of seating. The food is fantastic. We've been back several times per month since our first visit and we plan to keep coming back.

Combo with general tso, fried shrimp and egg roll

Solid American Chinese. I got the combo with general tso, fried shrimp and shrimp egg roll. It's not common you get a shrimp egg roll in a combo. I'm always wary of egg rolls. Usually they are stuffed with nasty cabbage. This had cabbage which wasn't too offensive but just had two small pieces of shrimp. I like a more uniform filling. Room to improve here. The fried rice did no harm. Decent enough. The fried shrimp was a little overcooked but appreciated the shrimp to batter ratio. The general tso was very good. It had a really unique batter. It almost reminded me of a meat jun batter. Kind of light and eggy. I'd take all of my tso like this. The seasoning while weak in the sauce did not offend. Sometimes it's too acidic or metallic but this was just mid. I'd come back if I was ever in town again.

Haven't been in a few years, came randomly on a Saturday night. The food was great! Huge portions, tasted fresh and had great flavor. Clean dining area. Service was friendly but felt like we were a little rushed to get in and out. I think next time I'll order takeout instead of dining in. The only other downside was there was no kids menu, so the portions for my kid was huge-

This review is tough, because I often have a 4 star experience here, then on some occasions it's just not consistent. This was one of those inconsistent times. I ordered to go, and the service was fabulous, and the wait time was exactly what they told me 15 minutes. Sadly this time the food wasn't to their normal standard. Pork Egg Foo Young was slightly burned, which had a negative impact on the flavor. Generally speaking the flavor was still good, but normally it's amazing. The crispy Noodle Chicken Chow Mein was really bland as it was missing salt. Sweet and sour shrimp was exactly as expected. This lesser experience will not stop us from going back here (unless future experience prove this as their new norm). I'm gonna assume it was just a bad day this time around.

Beef Mushroom noodle with gravy from the soup section minus the baby corn. Yummy!

I want to update my review. Since my last one we have learned something. We go when Lee is working. She is over the top excellent at service and so sweet. We love their food but the other server is just plain rude. It affects our experience so we found out Lee's schedule and go when she is there. As for the food. We love to get the lunch special. My husband always gets the Kung pao trio and loves it. I've tried the cashew chicken, sesame beef, general tso chicken, Kung pao shrimp, Mongolian beef, subgum chow mein and the twice cooked pork. All were excellent. What I do not care for is their sweet and sour sauce. It's not sweet enough for me. More like the Chinese ketchup. One of the menu items that intrigued me is on the soup section call Beef Mushroom Noodle with gravy. I finally decided to try it and omg! It was fantastic! Fresh crisp vegetables. Tender yummy beef. Perfectly cooked noodles and a rich broth. And it was huge! Enough for 3 meals for me. It has baby corn in it but I can't eat corn so I took it out before I tried it and then took this picture.

Shrimp with poop veins still in them

If your expecting friendly service this is "fast and furious" but not especially friendly, literally no words other then taking our order and the bare minimum interaction; lots of eye rolling if you ask for something. Typical Chinese, nothing special or unique. Tasty enough. Make sure if you order fried shrimp that you check for the poop vein, mine had not been removed and don't know if this is the type of shrimp they use which is not what you want to eat or just my luck? A noisy little place with no music, but lots of chatter, the air is on in the middle of a cold rainy day so had to wear a coat through the meal, but typical Chinese restaurant decor.

Best Chinese food in the area. I like that they have a little bit of everything, even some traditional dishes on the menu.

Excellent service, nice owners and a great selection of food. Always leave with leftovers-- their portions are very generous.

I really like this place. Family style menu items give nice large proportions. Really friendly. Avoid the pub next door.

We came in and although the place was mostly empty of customers the place was clean and had a nice aesthetic. We ordered the main attraction which is the Hot Pot which you can customize however you like, along with chicken fried rice which were both very delicious. People started showing up as we were eating which helped with the emptiness. Such a lovely place, don't hesitate to come in at give it a try!

I really like the individual hot pot concept. You get to pick exactly what you want--vegetables, meat, seafood, noodles, and other ingredients--then choose your own soup base. The experience is a little like Mongolian barbecue because you select your own ingredients, but instead of grilling them, everything is cooked in your personal hot pot. The price is based on the weight of the ingredients you choose. It's also similar to traditional Chinese hot pot, except everyone gets their own pot instead of sharing one. I actually prefer this because everyone can enjoy a different soup base and customize their meal without having to compromise. I ordered the No. 6 spicy dry pot (without broth) and chose the mild spice level. It had a nice kick without being overwhelmingly spicy. My husband chose the tomato soup base, which had a rich, delicious flavor. He practically finished the entire bowl of broth and commented that it felt like such a healthy, comforting meal with all the vegetables he added. Overall, we had a great dining experience. The food was flavorful, the staff were friendly and attentive, and we loved the fun, customizable dining concept. We'll definitely be coming back and would happily recommend Big Hey Hot Pot to anyone looking for a delicious and unique hot pot experience.

Just pick the food that ISN'T your generic panda express order and you'll be in heaven!! The service is always good except for recently. Seems they're training new hires and so things are a little slower than usual but that's ok! I hope our amazing usual host, Lee can catch a break! She's been the best server every time I go there. Just friendly and remembers your names! Ambiance can be anywhere from perfectly quiet to crying baby. It's a family kinda place and sometimes there's kids! Today was a bit strange as someone was in a blanket and sat at a table on their phone with headphones on laughing out loud. Looked like someone who worked there son? Hope that situation is all good! They seemed on the spectrum so I understand if a mother or father had to bring them to work. Love this place! 10/10 food, very friendly servers and seriously, I have been to so many Asian eateries and this place is THE ONE you have to try!

A lot of restaurants claim that they serve Szechuan food, but it's just regular Chinese food... This spot has both, and the Szechuan part is pretty good! We accidentally ordered 2 fried dishes by mistake, but they were both pretty delicious! We got the dried fish filet and spicy chicken/popcorn chicken. The fish was so crispy and savory... I didn't try the regular menu, but I will definitely come back to try more of their Szechuan menu soon (there were two separate menus when we came in). The staff was friendly, and the setting was chill! The free tea is always a plus :) If you love mala/szechuan flavours, try it out!

During that time I had wondered if they'd take the opportunity to update anything, but no, the menu, food, and even the interior are almost exactly the same! Everything I've tried has always been at least decent and usually excellent, but the lemon chicken, hand-shaved noodles, and various spicy fish dishes are particular favorites. Ideal for large groups to eat family style at the revolving tables, though the lunch specials are also great value. Even during the first few months of reopening, when the restaurant was packed and lines were out the door, somehow the service was timely, and it continues to be. Here's to many more years!

The chicken was tender, and the sauce was delicious. The chicken fried rice, however, was dry, with only a few small pieces of chicken. No one in our group cared for the black pepper beef or the flavor and texture of the beef chow mein. Oddly enough, even the fortune cookies were disappointing. They were crisp, but the flavor was unusual and not particularly sweet. I didn't know fortune cookies could be bad, but apparently they can. Overall, Taste of Sichuan is fairly average. Some dishes were hits, while others were clear misses. I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but it will do in a pinch.
