So while Pho NOHO used to be really good, it's seems like it how now gone down hill. My issues with this place are with the service. I wanted broth only. Nothing else. Since they don't have a cashier anymore, the screen had no choice for this. Vui Ve, the new pho place in the Noho arts district has this option available for $6. I finally asked someone working there and his pointed me the Plain ( S ) which was $11.95. Come to find out, this isn't broth only but has noodles, onions and other things. I was on a clear liquids diet and this wasn't what I wanted. I sent it back three time to have them get it right. Also, the sneak in a service charge on their order screens with no explination. What is this for? Why can't you include this in your pricing instead. The broth was fine, but I was a bit annoyed. The restaurant is still the same in decor, or lack thereof. Now that there is a choice in the North Hollywood Arts District, I think I'll be choosing Vui Ve for better pricing and having human cashiers that take your orders. read more

I came for a late dinner, a little after 8:30 pm on a Thursday evening, and had a lackluster experience. Was hoping to dine in but was told they only do carry out orders at that time, so instead of getting pho, I got bbq beef with rice ($17.95), which I figured would be easier to take out. Subbed a second portion of radish and carrot for potato salad. It took me ~15 minutes to get my food, which was longer than expected, given that no one else was ordering at the time. I was starving, so the wait felt like forever. I went to the bathroom while I was waiting, which is out in the hallway and shared with other businesses in the building (I assume). Unfortunately when I tried to re-enter the restaurant, the door was closed and I had to pop into the open kitchen door to ask one of the cooks to open the door. I wasn't happy about being locked out, especially since there was still 15 minutes to closing time at this point. Once I got the food, there were still 10 minutes until the restaurant closed, so I asked if I could quickly eat a couple bites there as I was starving. I mentioned I'd clean up after myself and leave before they closed, but the employee was pretty inflexible and kept repeating their policy of no dine-in after 8:30 pm. In the end, I just started eating and they didn't say anything. I ended up scarfing down half of my food in 5 minutes and finished the rest of it in the car. Fastest I've ever eaten. The vegetarian pho (Large) had a great portion size for the price. Some of the best pho I've had in recent memory. The service is mostly automated with a kiosk and table number system. The workers in the back and servers won't really talk to you unless you talk to them. However, they were nice when I talked to them. They do seem to stare at some guests a lot. The screen inside also seemed to not honor the lunch pricing advertised on their sign outside. This is probably an honest mistake, but was a bit of an annoyance. The decor is modern and clean. My date ordered the small bowl beef pho and I ordered the small bowl shrimp one. My date enjoyed her pho so much and so did I. However my assumption on the price was proven false... The spring rolls are HUGE! They are double the size of a normal spring roll! Ok $10 for 3 small burrito size spring rolls suddenly isn't bad at all. They were fresh tasty hit the spot BUT the dipping sauce was a hard pass... it tasted like mold was present, Benefit of the doubt is that sometimes ginger can make a mold flavor with certain ingredients or a bad piece of ginger got snuck it. Note: I have a hyper sensitive sense of taste where back when I used to drink I actually tasted a mix of the exact bottling yeasts that a micro brewer used on their beer yes they were shocked but it was a confirmation for me. I have been coming here since they opened. I have watched the service deteriorate over the past 2-3 years. Today hit a new low. The "do it yourself " system is awful. You can not get exactly what you want, Nor do the prices match the SPECIALS They advertise out front. When confronted with this, the pretty boy does not speak English, nor does anybody else there. He just kept saying it was tax. He didn't even understand his own machine and there was nobody there to speak with and correct the error. It's only a few bucks, but I just won't do it anymore. We ordered a large combo pho, veggie spring roll and a shrimp spring roll. The pho was bland. The noodles were clumped together. We got like 12 bean sprouts, a 1/4 lime wedge, 3 slices of jalepenos and NO Thai basil. :( . We didn't smell any of the classic aromatics found in pho. We paid $25. I would not return.
