I read some of the reviews about this place giving one or two stars, and find that hard to believe from my experience there my first time a few weeks back. So I wanted to write a short review to say that our dinner there was delicious in everything we ordered, and the service was very good. We ordered the Potstickers (8 pieces), Won Ton soup, and the House Chow Mein. Everything was served hot, and absolutely delicious in every bite. I don't like writing bad reviews. I always feel bad. Well, we got in. The place was cute --- really. With the exception of boxes, random rags, the tables having large pails with assorted... things in them -- it's cute. Like your 7yo drew little signs for advertisement and they hang around the restaurant cute. I decided to dine in. The first thing I didn't like, is that their dinner menu, their special menu, their combo menu, and their take out menu are not all in one place. I had to get up to look at their standing menu, get their take out menu, plus browse their dine in menu just to see which prices were better. On top of that their dine in menu is basically a picture book with little to no description as to what the dishes contain. The next thing I didn't like is no one offered us a high chair, or booster seat. The server came in a timely manner. I asked if i could substitute the kung pao into a combo meal. They said no, that was fair. They were out of apple juice for my kid, fair, I got sprite for her instead. I ended up ordering the number 1. This was supposed to come with a soup & salad. The salad was nicely plated with stringed carrots and sesame. I think it had a peanut oil dressing. The salad (as good as it looked) was unimpressive. It was just iceberg lettuce. Not a fan. When I asked where my soup was, the woman said that I had a baby (shes 2), and that the soup was hot, so she didn't want to bring it. I sat there kind of dumbfounded that she didn't bring me the soup I PAID FOR. I said "fine, no soup". The server brought me my meal... which ended up being the wrong dish, so she brought out another, which was correct. I remember noticing her English was kind of poor, so I pointed at the meal, and said "NUMBER ONE" out loud, just to make sure we didn't have a miscommunication. My mom speaks engrish too, so I'm sympathetic. On a more positive note, the food was quick. It took ten minutes for them to get both plates out. Upon receiving the dish, it looked great. They have great plating skills. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't good. The teriyaki chicken was dry. There was one particular piece that was over cooked so many times it was tough like jerky. The portions of the meal were INCREDIBLY small. A little bigger then those SKOAL cans. The sauce wasn't terrible, or good. I think the other part of the dish was sweet and sour chicken? It was light, fluffy, and had a bright pink sauce. It was actually pretty good, but unfortunately again, also very small. The chow mein was very brown, and very greasy. Which means they were either using a dirty pan, or old oil. No bueno. The serving was ENORMOUS. Oddly, the chicken in the chow mein was savory, plump, and juicy. Kind of wondered why the teriyaki chicken sucked. The worst part of the meal was the eggroll. I picked it up, and it smelled like the flaked fish food that comes out of the plastic containers. Because I knew i'd be yelping about the food, I very apprehensively took a bite out of it. It tasted like fish food (yes, I ate fish food when I was a kid...). I was a little confused by this entire dining-in experience here (I hear the take out is good). I mean their plating, food prep, and everything is spot on. The food is just terrible. I was shocked that with 6 people working that the experience wasn't more impressive. Take my advice: if you want chinese food, and your in the Carmichael area, they opened a Panda Express on Marconi & Eastern. It's a win. I probably will not be going back. read more

PLEASE DONT GO HERE! I came to this little place after YEARS of not going here and now I remember why.! I walked in and automatically was rudely looked at by one of the waitresses. I took a menu, looked over it and wasn't too impressed... High priced food that really didn't look too appetizing.. But having hope and seeing all the good reviews I got some stuff. I was upset when I found out I had to get a big hot and sour soup and that there was no small ones for a smaller price. But I got it anyway since to me it is a staple in any Chinese meal I have. I also got some salmon sushi and teriyaki chicken over rice... After getting the food I checked to make sure I got everything right. They did.. But the salmon looked weird. So I tried a bite of it before I left ... It was warm and it didn't sit in my stomach right so I left it there! Going back home I discovered the soup tasted like DISH WATER! There portion sizes are massive and the prices are in the middle but when we want decent Asian food in the area this is our go to spot. There chicken chowmein is amazing! Super happy with this place! We got fried rice, mixed veggie chow mein and bbq pork. First off the fried rice, the option to have brown rice stole my heart, it was delicious and full of flavor! The veggie chow mein with tofu was great as well, loaded with veggies and the tofu was full of flavor, which it usually isn't at other places. My last thing is the bbq pork.... The quality of my walnut shrimp dish was ok. It was standard sweet mayo based sauce and although I wasn't impressed, I wasn't disappointed in regards to preparation. What perplexed me was the cost of the item ($13 and some change) for just walnut shrimp with no rice or noodle on the side. I've eaten at several cheap hole in the wall Chinese restaurants in my day and have never been charged so much for an a la carte dish. They also sat my cold lychee tea on top of the hot styrofoam and let them stew together in the plastic to go bag as my door dasher called me to update me every step of the way and yell at them for compromising the temp and potentially exposing me to the kind of food borne illnesses that improper storage could cause. This has been one of my favorite places to eat in Carmichael for more than 10 years. I've celebrated with friends and family for birthdays at this restaurant. They have some very delicious vegetarian dishes! My family and I love to get takeaway, their menu has something for everyone. On Saturday March 17th 2017 My Husband and I went in and ordered 1 order of tempura vegetables , 1 cucumber roll and a side of steamed rice with three sides of teriyaki sauce. To Go. At home I started eating some of the tempura vegetables. I thought I was eating a slice of tempura potato, when I realized I was eating a piece of FISH!!!!!! I spit it out immediately, horrified! I found 2 other pieces of fish in my order of "vegetable tempura" . 3 in total!! That's never happened to me in all the time that I've ordered from there. That definitely ruined my day!!!! This place has always been a hit or miss with me, but its been mostly a hit on the times I have come here. I've tried a number of their dishes, and while I can't say that the majority of them have been anything special, the egg foo yung, chow mein, and chow fun have always been terrific. 5 stars for those. They sometimes get really stingy with the meat portions, and that's the only disappointing thing about this place and why I'm rating them 3 stars instead of 4. It isn't that the food tastes bad (it is still tasty), but the meat-to-vegetable ratio is sometimes heavily imbalanced against the meat. The Mongolian Beef I ordered the other day should have been renamed Mongolian Onion as it was pretty much a plate of cooked onions with seven (yes, seven total) pieces of beef. The one thing that I can always count on this place for is that they cook the food up really fast and fresh, which is great when I have a craving for Chinese food and don't want to eat something that's been sitting under a heating lamp for god-only-knows how long. Delivery is not their strong point, so I suggest calling it in and picking it up yourself or just staying there for dinner. read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I came here because my favorite Chinese place Blue Sky was closed on Sunday. I ordered the honey walnut chicken, which is so good at blue sky, and it was terrible. The mayonnaise sauce had no flavor, and the walnuts tasted like someone had forgotten about them for a year before they put them in. So I drove back and asked for something else. The only reason they get a 2nd star is that they didn't really push back or anything. Maybe the know their food sucks. So I got the General Tsao's chicken. Of course they didn't offer to refund the difference. It was bland, and the sauce tasted almost burnt. I didn't take back the veggie fried rice, I didn't want to look like a total jerk, but I couldn't even eat a whole serving of it, much less the whole container. Blech. And to top it off? I had ordered a Ginger Chicken and clarified only chicken to find I had a box full of onion (I have dietary restrictions) and around 5 pieces of beef tasting chicken (don't know about the meat).
