Açaí bowl and chai -both good!
    Peyton W.

I've been going to New World since before they moved from their old location over at Pleasant Valley. The food and drinks are still good quality, albeit have gone up a bit in price. It's still a good spot to meet up and grab a coffee or a bite to eat. My biggest issue is that it feels so sterile and "modern." Modern isn't necessarily a bad thing but it's just very clean and "diner-esque." I don't know how else to put it but the old location was cozier. It was the type of cafe where you could feel comfortable getting lost in a book, or studying for extended periods of time. I'm sure some people would be fine doing the same here, but for me it's lost some of its comfort and charm. I think one thing that could help is putting up some local art or adding more varied comfortable seating options. Just my two cents! Otherwise as I mentioned, the quality has remained the same and the service is still good! I still recommend going, I guess I'm just nostalgic for the vibes it used to have.

Scrambled eggs with cheese and turkey sausage

Bright spot (think it used to be Steak and Shake) in the parking lot of a shopping center. You order at the counter. I was trying to order from a section of the menu which I guess could be a sandwich or a platter. The difference wasn't clearly stated, nor were prices. I asked the cashier and she basically said the platter just didn't include bread. I didn't want to hold the line up so didn't ask many questions. Since I'm gluten free I just went with scrambled eggs with cheddar and some turkey sausage. Not sure if pricing was pure item or what, but the price was reasonable. Decent size-- three scrambled eggs with generous cheese -- and I did like the turkey sausage. Overall a quick spot to grab breakfast with friends.

    Avocado toast

Food sucked, prices are insanely high, the manager guy running the register was a total clueless jerk. I ordered avocado toast with an egg on it for like $10 (one single slice of bread for $10 btw) it comes out to the table and I can't even see the toast underneath what looks like 2 entire avocados just slapped on top of an untoasted slice of sourdough, I try to take a bite to see if it's good, but I literally am just eating avocado and nothing else. Absolutely disgusting. I go up to the desk and ask for a refund, he says "we don't do refunds, but I can remake it for you?" I say no because at this point I don't want to eat another avocado for a week. I also say there's just too much avocado on it, and rather than apologizing or offering a real solution, he tells me to scrape off the avocado. I work hard every single day to earn the money I make, and I expect to spend it on things that are worth it. Maybe you could fix your pricing if you decided to not waste about 3 avocados per "toast" slice. This place is garbage. It genuinely feels like there are no more good restaurants in the Raleigh area

For a coffee that's close by, this was wonderful! I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. For lunch, I got the fight club sandwich add avocado. Maple bacon spread + Mayo was divine. It was HUGE too. For a side I tried the Asian coleslaw and it was pretty good. Very peanuty. Service and staff were kind

I really enjoyed New World Cafe the few times I've been in the area! I love their seasonal flavors - particularly their Maple Spice latte in the fall. It was so smooth and flavorful. The cafe itself was a small space, but had a few seats and couches inside. Their breakfast sandwiches were also delicious. I'd definitely recommend stopping by for some coffee and snacks!

I used to stop by here a lot when I was local. Then I moved. My wife recently "discovered" this cafe/coffee shop and insisted we stop by. Coffee was very good, service friendly and helpful, and the breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg, cheese, avocado, lettuce and tomato with a very good aioli was fabulous. See photo. We lucked out that it was Thanksgiving weekend and surprisingly quiet. Very good.

My husband has been here without me a few times, but due to my 9-5 job I hadn't had a chance to visit. That changed this past week when I took a half day and went to their new spot by the Duraleigh Library. 10 out of 10 ! My turkey sandwich was fantastic, the spread they added was amazing. My husband had a lovely salad as well. HIGHLY recommend and now I want to go back for breakfast.

Family had Norwegian pancakes! So good the and favorite for both children was peanut butter and chocolate. Number 2 was Nutella and bananas.

Exquisite coffee drinks in a fresh, new and inviting space. Their cappuccinos are the penultimate happy start to a morning. And now much easier parking, though I'm eager to use the drive-thru to pickup my online order on the way to work.

I love coming to this place. The food is good quality, the service is always lovely, and the restaurant is well maintained. And of course the coffee is the best!

A Macaroons avocado toast and a water

We worded a few thing and it turned out to be $30.00. The food was ok but it was huge and it was $16.00 for 1 pease of avocado toast. The vibe was good every one was nice but there was no uniform.

Counter Culture coffee selection is great. Has lots of options and some yummy sandwich choices including a black bean burger or black bean salad for veg options. Cortado was excellent.

This particular morning, I knew I wanted to stop by Trader Joe's afterward, but they weren't open yet. So I pulled up the map looking for a coffee shop where I could get a little coworking done. Thousand Hills Coffee popped up, and it had been on my "need to try" list for a while. I also shot my buddy KH a quick text to see if he wanted to join me and catch up on our latest ultra running training shenanigans. Thankfully, he was game. I rolled in around 8:30 a.m. and managed to grab a decent parking spot. Worth mentioning because the coffee shop shares parking with the apartment complex next door, so I imagine spaces can disappear quickly. KW arrived a few minutes before me and had to park a bit farther away. Walking inside, I immediately liked the vibe. It feels modern but still cozy, almost like someone's really well-designed living room. There are several distinct seating areas, plenty of soft chairs, a long community table, and even bar seating overlooking the baristas. It struck a nice balance between coffee shop and comfortable workspace. Since I'd already knocked out my morning run, I was ready for a little breakfast. KH and I both ordered the cheese, Danish. It looked huge in the display case, though it shrank a bit once it made it onto the plate. That said, it was really flavorful and definitely worth ordering. I also grabbed a regular drip coffee, which was excellent. My timing was amusing because they had just finished the last pot and were brewing a fresh one, but honestly, getting a fresh cup probably worked out for the best. We grabbed chairs next to the long community table instead at the table since the morning sun was already heating things up. We spent a while catching up, talking running, races, and all the usual endurance athlete nonsense. After KH headed out, I relocated to the long table that was in the shade and spent another hour or so catching up on emails and getting a little work done. It turned out to be a great co-working spot with plenty of room to spread out without feeling like you were taking up space. One last shoutout to the staff, who were genuinely friendly and welcoming throughout my visit. Good coffee is one thing, but great people always make the experience better. Overall, I came away impressed. Somehow, they've been open for about two years, and I'm honestly not sure how they managed to stay off my radar for so long. Safe to say they'll be making it into my regular rotation whenever I need a good cup of coffee and a comfortable place to get some work done.

They asked if I wanted any accent colors/decoration on the cake and I said I don't care, I'll leave that up to you just make it nice. I was thinking the cake decorator would get creative fancy or something, especially since I was open to the design/color, it was for a birthday, and already paying extra for a "crown" TBH I would have paid whatever it took for a really nice cake. The taste wasn't bad. I was expecting a slightly bolder flavor especially with a name like "Mango Mojito" cake but nothing stood out. There were some random bursts of mango. It tasted better cold/chilled but as it got warmer the flavors just kinda blended together. The cake did have a nice texture. It was done on time! Customer service was top notch. Iris Coffee Lab is where you bring the friend who can tell you the origin of a bean after one sip,…read morewho gets excited about extraction methods and tasting notes, and who genuinely believes coffee deserves the same reverence as a fine bottle of wine. Iris isn't trying to be trendy: it is unapologetically devoted to the craft. The interior reflects that philosophy. A restrained palette of white, charcoal, and soft gray keeps distractions to a minimum, allowing every cup to remain the focal point. It's clean, modern, and intentionally understated. If you're someone who typically reaches for cream and sugar, I'd encourage you to order at least one cup black. Iris sources and roasts exceptional coffee, and tasting it without distractions is the best way to appreciate the nuance and balance that have earned the café such a devoted following. That said, the seasonal menu is every bit as thoughtful. On this visit, I ordered the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha Latte, a drink layered with tropical sweetness, creamy matcha, and just enough complexity to keep each sip interesting. The final few sips, where all of the flavors settled together, were unexpectedly my favorite part. My brother-in-law chose Iris's signature blueberry-forward latte, while my niece ordered the house-made chai. Before she'd even finished half the cup, she looked up and declared, "This is the best chai I've ever had." Her father, after trying it himself, agreed without hesitation. The breakfast menu compliments the beverage program well, offering thoughtfully prepared dishes that feel every bit as intentional as the drinks. Like many destination coffee shops, Iris tends to attract people who settle in for a while. Laptops are open across nearly every table, conversations are minimal, and the room has the focused energy of a shared studio rather than a bustling café. Because of the open design, voices travel easily, making it a better place for quiet work than lively catch-ups. The café is meticulously maintained, including spotless restrooms that reflect the same attention to detail found throughout the space. Parking can require a bit of patience, though I've almost always managed to find a spot without too much trouble.
