This is a negative review but it may sound positive. I loved this place from the time I hit Tucson. You could get real authentic greasy New York Style Pizza. But they have new owners now that have classed the place up, but they also changed the ingredients to better quality and changed the dough. It's no longer New York Style. And the price has changed, the family style huge pizza that was $30 the last time i got it is now $50 and smaller and again no longer takes like a real New York Pizza. Man this is my absolute favorite pizza in Tucson. I've had several different versions of pepperoni. Extra cheese, jalapeños, mushrooms. But still the best is Family pepperoni, lite sauce and then rewarm in the toaster oven just on the rack. The crust stays crisp and it's just as good as the first day. It's a small place been around as long as I can remember. Give them a try. They accept contactless Apple Pay too. read more

Terrible customer service? Slow? Yes, I believe all of it, but that doesn't stop me from getting the best pizza in the city. It is one of those places where you have to know what to expect before you come. Call in your order (they don't deliver), but don't ask too many questions because the person at the other end invariably does not want to talk to you. Their menu is online and there are never specials beyond what is on there for lunch. Show up at least 10 minutes beyond the time they tell you it will take and don't be surprised if it's still not ready. If you go by the "all business" mentality and not try to make new friends or make demands like you're important here then I think you will enjoy the overall experience a lot better. Because the pizza is that good. Best I have ever had? No, of course not, but certainly the best in the city. The crust alone is worth it. read more

I wanted to share our recent experience with New York Pizza. Sunday night I ordered a king Kong pizza and my husband went to pick it up. When he got at home it was not the right pizza but we figured it would be too big a problem to take it back, etc. so we ate it. As we were halfway through the pizza we received a call from New York Pizza stating that we had gotten the wrong pizza and can we please come get the king Kong pizza. We explained that we ate the other pizza, but they said that's no problem. Just come and get the other pizza. They do not have delivery service. So we went to pick it up and it was absolutely delicious. I have to congratulate them on the excellent customer service they provided us. We do recommend New York Pizza. read more

This was horrible the 2nd time I a. Row I have come here and they have " forgot about my order" both times waiting over an hour. And I am just so mind boggled that I actually asked for a refund this time and for my tip back. I tipped 5$ to be waiting an hour after being told it would only take 35 min and nobody even told Me about it not being done there shady as hell. Came back after a few years and it's as good as I remember when I was a kid. Super clean eating area and bathrooms. The garlic bread was delicious and stacked as was the pizza with toppings. The service was speedy they estimated a 25 minute wait and had it out within 15 minutes. read more

This pizzeria is old school looking and has been a Tucson staple since the late 70's. There family size pizza is the best and closest I can get from Tucson that tastes similar to New York. Old school red and white checker board table clothes. Slices with a draft beer or soda specials. Old arcade games from my youth like: Capcom Bowling, House of The Dead to name a few. I always order 2 slices heated on a pan so I can fold my slice with cheese or pepperoni grease dripping from behind. "This is how it is supposed to be" I'm from New York and in Tucson this is the closest pizza to my home. Not the prettiest place but if your looking for decor your not looking for real pizza. Good pizza... really weird service. We ordered our 3 slices with drinks. Then asked how much refills are. Keep in mind that a large drink is 90 cents. "How much is a refill?" we asked. "95 cents." she said. Uhhh... what? 95 cents for a refill on a 90 cent drink...? The girl working the register must have not been paying attention when she told us that. We were very confused. We sit down and wait for our pizza after that. We ordered pepperoni and mushroom on our slices. They were ready very fast - too fast. They were basically slices of pepperoni pizza with a can of mushrooms dumped on top. The mushrooms weren't even cooked into the pizza, nor were they warm. Just some canned mushrooms on top of the pizza. I could have just tipped the slice sideways and all the mushrooms would have come off. And that I did. I didn't want to eat rubbery canned mushrooms on my pizza. The pepperoni slice itself was very good. The crust is thin and perfect. Tastes good. Do yourself a favor and get a cheese slice or pepperoni slice with no other toppings. (except for extra meat maybe. but the veggie toppings will probably suck) read more

We moved here from Ga 3 years ago and found this awesome little pizzeria. We loved it! However the new owners have not continued as I wish they would have. Mostly all new staff. What a SCAM! The Tucson location on E Broadway. I ordered 2 family size one item pizzas and each was $28. No problem so far. The cost was just over $66. I felt $10 for tax was a bit high and when I inquired on the cost breakdown, I learned they charged a $2.85 per pie for the box. So the two pizzas had an added charge of 5.70 or 10% of the original order price. They had never done this before. It looks like a new strategy to gouge the customer and put a little extra money in their coffers. What next, McDonalds charging extra for the bag? The pizza is delicious but the nickel and dime tactics just sent this customer elsewhere. read more

Do not use the menu (or pricing) found online. Call them first to order and confirm pricing. I have no problem paying for a good pizza, but make sure you know the cost before you buy. They said they're aware of the false pricing on the online menu but offered to corrective action nor did they mention it when the order was placed. read more

The Wife and I went to New York Pizza today. Apparently this place is under new ownership. Our order was wrong, no more pitchers of beer no tap beer, grocery store bottled beer. Eat in or carry-out. It appears most people do the latter. No atmosphere to speak of- just a few long picnic-type tables with bench seating. Not an issue, though, as you'll probably order to go. They make New York style (thin crust) pizzas. You pick up a slice, fold it in half lengthwise and eat out of hand. Service is a little slow, but the pizza quality makes up for it. They have several sizes, including the largest, which is fit for a family. Two of us couldn't finish it; had to save it over to morning (breakfast). I have eaten New York Pizza many times. Every time I have ordered from here the people were courteous, friendly, and helpful. I had arrived about an hour early and it was super hot. They said I could come in and wait un5il it was time for them to open. Their food is great, especially the hot wings. I would say to anyone who has bad things to say about this place, if you don't like it here stay away so there is more for the discerning people who know what good food is. Being new to the area we wanted to grab a quick bite for the family before work. At first glance we weren't very hopeful, majority of our cheese was in the center of the pizza. We gave it a try and everything was fine until I bit down on something hard that eventually stabbed me in the mouth. I spit out my food and there it was, a piece of metal with a sharp point.
