Straight to the point - If you're looking for a good ol' fashioned burger joint this is the place to come! I got a double cheeseburger, added avocado, fries, and a small drink. Came out to $11.65. My boyfriend showed me this place just recently and I loved the bacon avocado burger ! The fries AMAZING! Crispy fresh! My hubby gets large chili cheese fries he loves it ! Clean place ! This is a pretty good place if you want that traditional breakfast; eggs, toast, and hashbrows. Prices are about $7 per plate. There's plenty of seating area and the restaurant is located on a corner so you could watch the traffic drive by. My breakfast was perfect. The hashbrows here are awesome. read more

This tiny diner has a clean looking dining area with pretty pictures on the walls. It has just one cook manning the front kitchen. The benches and tables had no carving or graffiti. The walls looked intact and the dining area looked very nice overall. I ordered a pancake breakfast that included eggs, sausage and two pancakes. The food itself was fine. I appreciated that they also had tomato salsa for my eggs. However, I was appauled at how sticky and grimy my plates were. My plates were not washed properly. Dirty plates are not acceptable. Worst of all, their pancake syrup was terrible. It was definitely not maple because there was no maple taste at all. It may have been simple corn syrup. I would not eat here again. From the outside, Nick's is a non-descript burger join. But once you get a taste of their food, whatever it might be, it'll forever be very much non-descript for you. In my immediate vicinity, I have Nick's, and a host of chain fast foods to choose from. Nearly always the decision is Nick's! Awesome burgers, excellent fries (I like mine crispy :), an excellent hot pastrami, and in the mornings, an excellent breakfast burrito. Small dining area, quick, friendly counter service. Typical charbroiled burger on sesame seed bun with mayo, shredded Iceberg lettuce, tomato, pickle. Previously frozen French fries, and watery fountain drinks with free serve yourself refills. Not very appetizing chicken plate served with fries, onion rings, bread roll. Good spot for a hamburger. Hamburger is the classic burger you would find at any other spot similar to Nick's. They serve you a lot of fries if you get the hamburger special. So sharing a special and getting a burger on the side is perfect for two people. read more

We drove to Nick's burgers on a Friday night and arrived a little after 8:30pm. There were two people in line in front of us picking up their food. When we walked up to the window, the cashier gruffly told us that they were closed. I really don't appreciate the fact that she waited until we arrived at the window to inform us they were closed. I also don't appreciate the fact that their sign clearly states that the restaurant closes at 9:30pm. I will never visit this vile establishment again. The only good thing to come out of this encounter was that I was forced to go to Jim's burgers down on Valley and found the burgers at Jim's to be much much better than Nick's. read more

Good little burger joint. They have just about everything you might want to eat. The location isn't particularly convenient, but they have a lot of options on their menus. The food is good, especially their famous pastrami as well as their burgers, fried zucchini and they even have fried chicken. The eating area is pretty small, they about 8 tables. Every time I have the opportunity to grab a lunch when I'm eating alone I always consider scarfing down a burger. But while I'm totally fine with most of the burgers that fast food chains offer, I have to admit that Nick's is one of the mom & pop places that I can easily succumb to. This joint has been here for a very long time and it has consistently produced the same quality for the 13 years that I've bought burgers from them. In all the years I've eaten here I've never bought a pastrami sandwich or a plate of fried chicken because I've become so attached to the burgers. If you bring a healthy appetite, you really can't go wrong with a double cheeseburger. The buns are toasted until they're slightly brown and crispy yet chewy (as opposed to crumbly) and the burger patties are quite large and tender with good juice. There's an aroma that you normally don't get from most fast food burgers. This place also lets you load up on chili peppers if you have a spice addiction. Now if you're really hungry, I bet you can inhale the burger and have an order of chili fries too. But be prepared to be stuffed because the portions are quite good. Between Nick's Burgers and a place like In N' Out, I'd actually pick Nick's. Why? The portions are bigger, the texture more tender, and the aroma of the burgers grabs you by the collar. I can eat so I feel somewhat cheated when I buy the smaller burgers at In N' Out. I also get turned off by the really long lines at In N' Out. In fact, I don't really understand the appeal of In N' Out. One reviewer mentioned food poisoning. I think he was just unlucky. It hasn't happened to me even once in all the years I've been there and I have a weak stomach. Another reviewer mentioned that one of the staff had an attitude. I didn't get a sense of an attitude myself. The cook doesn't appear that friendly but the cashier who has worked there for years seems friendly to me. I don't know. Maybe the reviewer had bad chemistry with the staff. I can understand how some people are hated at first sight but I was never hated at Nick's Burgers. read more

I had the hamburger special. It came with fries and a soft drink ($5.75). It was fine, not a culinary orgasm. The menu includes hamburgers, Mexican food, and a few other items including fried chicken. The prices are average to slightly above I would say. It is clean on the inside. There are booths. You order at the counter and then pick it up yourself. The wash room is on the outside, which I found as a negative, but my associate dismissed it. Of note, I was put off by the crudely written sign on the soft drink dispenser stating that you are limited to one refill. Deal breaker. Free refills are and should be the industry standard. I would venture to say the failings of a business have never been directly attributed to a free refill policy and if asked could point out numerous other failings of this business that would come ahead of giving free refills on a list for the reasons of its failure (the artwork etc...). I am practically an expert. I do not anticipate a return visit. read more

My experience here was one for the books. I have never been to Nick's burgers, but found it through yelp. As I pulled in, I was excited to try a burger from a burger joint instead of one from a fast food place. The lady taking orders was so sweet and very time effective! The chefs really know what they are doing. Props to them! I ordered a cheeseburger and small fries and they were amazing. SO GOOD. I thought in n out had the best burgers, and boy was I wrong. This place's burger was one to beat. It had all the flavor and grilled taste I look for in a Dream burger. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Just how it's supposed to be! The people there were just having a simple lunch, it's a pretty neighborly place! You can tell a lot of the people that come are regulars, and now I probably will be one too!!
