This feels like a place that either you just know or you stumble upon it. It's not on westheimer, but a side street. It for sure give a dive bar feel, probably a great place to go watch a game. We sat at the bar, but they do have tabled seating. The service was good and the food comes out quick. You'll notice the pic has some food missing . I can't remember what the dish was called, but it is a great keto meal. The burger was ok, but my boyfriend really liked it.

A hidden gem, Nick's place offers solid NY style bar food, a dive bar atmosphere and great service. As a northeastern transplant, I loved our Saturday afternoon of football here. We got a calzone and a cheesesteak and I wasn't disappointed. They had heaters outside, which made for a beautiful January day in the sun. I will definitely be back!

I love love Nick's Place! My Fiancé and I have been going here for the past 5 years and it's truly the best sports bar in Houston. Any game you want they have it and will put it on when you ask. The drinks and food are reasonably priced and everything I have had on the menu for food has never disappointed. I highly recommend the rigatoni and pizzas! The staff is beyond nice and always so attentive. The general manager is the nicest guy and a reason we love coming here. You can't go wrong coming to Nick's Place! I highly recommend!

This is exactly what you want out of a dive- sports bar. Tons of TVs, good greasy food and service from Nick himself. I had the wings and the calzone... both were great. When I say there are TVs ON EVERY INCH of wall space I really mean it. Drinks were decent but I would probably order a beer next time to keep it simple. This place is no frills in the best way possible.

Nick's Place is a solid divey sports bar. If you like sports, they got you! There are TVs EVERYWHERE, they have a sports ticker, and I think they have every sports channel ever. We were there on NFL Sunday and they had every game up and were able to show some Premier League soccer. Nick and his team are nice and provide great service. The food is good and the drinks are priced well. They have daily specials for both. I would say food is about $6-$15 per order and the drinks range about that much as well depending on what you get. Not sure if they show UFC but this would be a great place to watch it, I would rather hang out here over wing places. Will definitely visit again!

    Dirt on mushroom

I would give 0 star if it was an option. Absolutely horrible, from food to service. My husband placed an order of chicken salad through Door Dash and I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the box. The mushrooms had dirt all over it! And it was visible, not like I had to pick and choose to see the dirt. And when I called them, they offered no apology or anything except telling me to contact Door Dash directly. Mind you, Door Dash didn't make the food, they did!!! Unbelievable!

Finally!!!! A hole in the wall with good drinks and good food!!! We've been searching all over this side of town trying to find the perfect place, and I think we found it. It's a HOLE IN THE WALL.... Nothing fancy at all!(however, I did like those green suede bar stools lol) But, service was great and food & drinks were really good! Staff were friendly and Demi went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. Thank you! We will return!

Came here for a lil reunion. It's my friend's cousin's bar. You can park in their lot or on the street out front. The parking lot was packed when i went, but this was a Sunday and the football games were on. There are alot of tv screens so you can watch at any angle wherever you sit. Or server was very helpful and friendly. I ordered the Philly cheese steak, it was juicy and flavorful. My friend ordered the calzone and he looked like he barely touched the thing because it's huge. Atmosphere was great for watching sports. Price was fair. We also ordered the spicy pickles which were fantastic. The breading was full and crunchy and didn't fall apart. Would definitely recommend this place!

Taylor was attentive and sweet. She was happy to answer all of my questions. Philly cheesesteak was good. Being from Philly that is saying A LOT! I almost didn't want to order it to be let down but I'm glad I did!

This used to be my go-to watering hole before I moved. I visited last night for the first time in a couple years. I consider it a "dive bar" with no disrespect (I happen to like dive bars). It is a very unassuming place with a large inside and nice outdoor dog friendly patio (at least it used to be, so check before going). The best thing about Nick's is the food! In the years I've been away, it is still consistent and delicious! The pizzas are phenomenal. I don't know what they do to that crust, but oh my! It is so good! Their menu is quite extensive, so you won't run out of things to try. Parking is very convenient. You can literally park steps away. Nick's has an onsite ATM. Security was present last night when I arrived. That's always a plus. A lot of people have come through those Nick's doors. I have made some good friends from my ventures over the years. Enjoy!

We oddly ended up here for lunch on a workday (didn't realize it was more bar than restaurant) but stayed to eat because of the patio area. Service was really friendly and fast. They have a surprisingly large food selection, tons of Italian-leaning options. I went for their Chicken Parm Sandwich - a solid option, all the flavors were there to make it a nice lunch meal.

We loved Nick's!! Their food & beverages were beyond our expectations. We had pasta & a pizza, both were very good & came out very quick. I would definitely come to Nick's Place again & recommend to my friends.

Before that, I remember the baguette bread and very well-seasoned meat, etc. These were the closest to ones from Philly, bc even to this day, other places often make atrocious Philly sandwiches. I went here recently a few times for the first time in 5 years. I ordered the 6 inch Back Home Philly with no cheese, plus a side of tomatoes togo. The bread was more of a soft, dense and slightly chewier type rather than crispier version like the former baguettes. It was still a great bread option resembling one you'd get from an authentic Philly sandwich. The onions n mushrooms were obviously great n cooked well adding more excitement in taste. The tomatoes were nicely cool n refreshing with some contrast to the warm saltiness of this sub. The meat itself was seasoned enough and tender in every bite. Not as deep in seasoning as years ago, but still definitely done right. It was a delicious, fresh and comforting sandwich and would definitely come here for it at times when craving a Philly steak. I would say Jake's and Philly Flats are the only ones like the real thing down here. I do prefer the seasoning from Jake's even more tbh. Great, very welcoming and efficient service on these visits.

It's totally understandable that reservations wouldn't be possible on a World Cup day. Seems like the staff are not all on the same page, or I was misled to just get my group into the bar (which has happened at other bars during the tournament so it's not unheard of).
