Surprise! This place makes THE BEST pizza in Houston. (Yeah, I'll fight you over that. Maybe.) And they serve it until 1 in the morning. I can't tell you how many times I've ordered a midnight pizza from this place, and it's always been hot and perfect. The bar rocks, too. It's laid-back but energetic (no pressure but still fun) with a ton of TVs and a friendly, diverse crowd. The beer selection includes the standard Texas fare and a good group of imports. I watched the world cup here and it was a total blast - it's one of those places where everyone in the bar is automatically your friend. There are daily food specials, too. And fried ravioli, mmm. I was on the West side of Houston, meeting up a friend and we wanted to watch some college football while getting caught up. Via Yelp mobile this popped to the top when searching sports bar in that area. The parking situation is a bit odd as the lot is not well defined, I ended up parking in the lot next door. When you walk in it's dark inside, there were TVs in all different directions with various games on. They had my horns on TV and that's all I cared about but apparently, the Gator's Alumni meet here so if you hate the gators I would avoid, or better yet and talk trash. As far as the food goes, we tried the appetizer sampler, it was good, especially the fried jalapenos. For my meal I had the chicken panini. It was delicious. The service is good for a small sports bar. You could tell this place had many regulars but they gave us newbies the same attention. read more

First time coming to Nick's and was amazed on how many t.v. are in this joint. Hehe... This is a REAL man's bar... Customer service was wonderful and I was very surprised that the kitchen was opened late. We had order Whattsamatta-U Special. This pizza was huge and it has everything on it but we opt-out the anchovies... Its basically semi thin crust and the piled all the toppings on the pizza. Yum! This was my first visit. First...the parking is terrible. The carpet is green and old...and that is the worst of this place The waiter we had was amazing. He was nice and would talk to use, get our orders and check on our drinks. The food was over sized and had the taste of heaven! I got the calzone, which was great. The food for the price we can't complain at all!! 4 people with appetizers too....under $70!! The only complaint that brings the rating to a 4 star is the lack of attention from our server. Though he was pleasant he had 7 tables at once and he was definitely spread a bit thin. I'm a part of a local West Ham United supporter group called Bayou Ironworks and we have been looking for a new place to call home during the premier league season. We decided to give Nick's Place a shot during the World Cup matches this weekend and I think it's safe we have found our new home. Nick went out of his way to introduce himself and make us feel welcome. He takes great pride in his bar, and it shows in the way he runs the place. The food all looked and smelled amazing, the service was fantastic, but the atmosphere is what sets Nick's Place apart from the competition. A good bar for sports fans. There are TVs in absolutely every direction. All types of sports were on. It's a dive bar, but the regulars seem to love it. I was there for happy hour midweek and our table service was excellent. There is also a patio. Food: All you can eat pasta special for $6.99. You get a salad and all you can eat pasta of the day. It's divey but the food is pretty good for a dive bar. I had the creamy puffs.. Fried ravioli filled with cheese and they were delicious! Nicks place: now you're tugging at my heartstrings I grew up down the street in Memorial: it's beautiful, in a dodgy sort of way, the food is extremely strong (hard to make a bad choice). A southern Italian/ Sicilian, whatever you want to call it. spaghetti and meatballs, pizzas and calzones stuffed mushrooms. 1950s US Italian menu. Nick & his wife Cindy are great & usually here. Let's just start by saying these are the most comfortable bar chairs ever. Nick's is easily one of yet best hang out spots in its area with great Italian based food, plenty of TVs, an outdoor patio, and plenty of indoor seating. They serve breakfast in addition to a dinner menu (not typical of most bars), and is like to make a note that the food is restaurant quality, not the quick fried bar food one may be used to. Service is excellent and everyone is attentive and very friendly. The parking lot is small, but there is also street parking. So I randomly ended up here on Margarita Monday (yes, I call my Mondays that) with the promise that they had the best fried chicken. Nick's place reminds me of Griffs - divey, homey, set in the middle of a residential neighborhood (i.e. almost hidden). The waitresses were friendly, the waiters not as much, but all in all, I did not get a bad vibe here. I sat at the bar and ordered honey bbq wings - extra crispy - and when I got them - they were hot and steaming! I was so hungry I couldn't even wait for them to cool - the margaritas I just had from the spot I was at before were also seeping through my veins - so I dove right in. The chicken was okay, I don't think they top my go-to chicken spot, but they were good enough. I really enjoyed my experience here at Nick's. The place has a kind of "hole in the wall" sports bar feel with good drinks and honest to god good food. The staff was so nice and welcoming. They have a ton of TVs and I believe they have all the sports packages so you definitely will be able to watch the game you want to watch. I think they even have the WWE package which is pretty cool! I went in the other day because I was craving a muffaletta and Nick's didn't disappoint. I also ordered a medium cheese pizza and really enjoyed it. I wish I could have stayed and hung out. This is my first time @ Nicks, all because of the lack of parking space during the previous attempts. nick's is a dive sports bar, odd and un-comfortable furniture, slow service, and the worst parking lot even compared to Ikea. But there are facets here that is executed brilliantly. Food is portioned just enough to put a whale in to hibernation. This is the first sports bar I have ever seen with all 3 providers to cover all sporting events. Which means a long table full of remotes which is entertaining when being operated/tap danced with. Super friendly staff that tries their best even when short handed. Calzon with 3 meats- mouth blistering goodness. Spicey meat appetizers- Looks like dark turds, tasted like a kabob without the stick. Great stuff if you dont look at it. One star removed for parking, a food comatose patron should not have to shuffle all the way to the next lot to look for his/her car. read more

My first time there and definitely not the last. Its a neighborhood dive bar with good food. Prices are reasonable. The muffuletta on sesame seed bun was satisfying and large. So large that if you don't eat quickly, the warm toasted crunch goes away which turns it somewhat into another type of sandwich. Coleslaw was fresh. My husband and I visited Nick's for the first time recently and we loved it! Nick's was everything a sports bar should be. Good drink selection, huge menu, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and countless TVs (I counted 22 just from where I was sitting). We ordered the cheesy poofs (fried ravioli), pizza, beer, and frozen margaritas. The food and drinks aren't the best I've ever had, but they were tasty and the margaritas were strong.
