We had tried two other breakfast spots in Sedona on a Thursday which fell short due to closures. Glad Nicks was open it didn't disappoint. Great service and immediately were sat by Tiffani who was friendly and punctual. I had the brisket & eggs which came with some tasty bbq sauces. We stopped by Nicks for a lunch after a 5 am hike. We were greeted & sat promptly. The service was great; we did not go without a refill. The food was reasonable priced (shocking for Sedona) and it was yummy! The food fulfilled our hunger that we worked up that morning. It was quite satisfying. Ramazan & the young man who oversaw refills (Sorry! Didn't grab a name) was always chipper & smiling. Sidenote - the place is called Nicks. Who is Nick? I don't know. When I asked the young man, he did not know either. It would have been a fun fact to know the story of the restaurant or who Nick was =) Air conditioning would have been pleasant - maybe next time we visit, they will have cooler temps inside the restaurant while we enjoy our lunch. Low key, laid back, local diner - we liked it so much that we ate here 3 times during our trip. Food and service were good. Oh how I wish I could remember the owner's wife's name - she was so nice to us and very hard working. She was friendly and hospitable. We never had to wait long, even when they were busy. Mixed emotions here- pretty good spot for breakfast and bar food, but lousy BBQ. Service was respectable and polite, but you can tell this is a locals type place and had a neighborhood bar vibe. The pancakes and French toast the kids had were solid, too bad we didn't stick with those. We tried the BBQ plate with pork, ribs, brisket, chicken, beans, and sweet potato fries. They say it is hickory smoked in house, but it tasted like pot roast that had been microwave reheated. Chewy, bland meat. Sauce was just meh. Came in to Nick's West side on Valentine's Day for breakfast with my honey. We tried to go to another establishment up the road which had a one hour wait , but I called Nick's and was told there was no wait - so we jumped in our car and drove there in two minutes! So glad we did that because what a little gem of a place it was! Definitely a locals joint and a great breakfast spot. Not wanting anything sweet I got Javier's SW breakfast burrito which was really good and not greasy at all. My hubby went for the veggie omelette which was made with real eggs and not the egg beaters fake eggs stuff. Coffee was good and hearty and nobody rushed us out the door. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and my boyfriend ordered a Ruben. We scarfed the food down! It was so good! I'm so picky about my onion rings but these were amazing! Doing my best to support local businesses. Came here and there was two big tables open and clean. Waitress said 15 minutes wait for party of five. Two party of four came in after us and got seated right away. Same waitress that told us to wait also took our order with the lousy attitude. Once we got our food we never saw her again which means not refills on our drinks, no butter and no Tabasco. We had dinner at Nicks West side last night after traveling into town. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Ramazan the owner. We started with the cheese curds, and they were the best I've had, we were only going to have a few and ended up eating the whole plate! The quality of the food was exceptional and the price point was lower than you'd expect for quality food. I like that the Wine and cocktail prices were very reasonable. We ordered a breakfast burrito and an egg sandwich. They said they do have an egg sandwich in their menu, but it was a rip off! They gave me two scramble eggs inside burger brioche bun! It was literally just bread with side of lettuce tomato like a burger with a side of french fries! I wish they were honest and informed me about no such egg sandwich in their menu. WONDERFUL place! We thought of going to The Coffee Pot but they're so touristy and crowded. We found this place and I must say, one of the absolute best breakfasts I've ever had. So comfortable and personable, friendly staff, and as pictured, I had the 17 hour slow roasted beef brisket and eggs and nearly licked my plate it was so good. I added a side of Hollandaise sauce and they also provide you a sweet bbq and a spicy bbq sauce. My boyfriend had the Eggs Judi and was simply floored. Oh! This restaurant was decorated in 1980 and hasn't changed since. It smells a bit moldy and it's dark inside if you're sitting on the left half of the restaurant. The right half has a big window and the bar. If I had paid 1980 prices for the burger and fries I would've considered it a good deal however my bacon cheeseburger, the least expensive burger on the menu, was $13.50. The bun was nice and with very good fries. The atmosphere was a two, the food was probably a four, the service was a three (adequate not amazing), The old, moldy bathroom was a two ( functional but don't want to go it again). Considering the prices they're getting for their food I would of it expected "them" to update this test along time ago! read more
