The place had a decent menu and a nice live singer there, after that it went downhill. Ask the waitress what's good on the menu, her response everything. She was very rude to us and kept forgetting to bring water and drinks. Seemed like she did not want to be bothered. Very impatient. This waitress forgot our order 3 times. Finally brings back the wrong food after I told her and she then proceeds to say try it maybe you'll like it. Ma'am I didn't order that so I don't want try it. Finally in her 4th attempt she brought the food this time saying they ran out of items on your order, so your plate will be missing food. So why didn't you say that in the first place. Still charge us full price. Oh yeah Either way we finally got our bill to get out here and they charge us a $29.50 service fee twice. At this point we just paid and left. Never recommend and never will go back. read more

My husband and I stopped into Nick's for an early dinner. We are tourists and it looked like a cute local place. When the server seated us, she warned us that she was the only server which was the norm and she would do her best to accommodate us. We later overheard her telling another customer that there was only one cook. Despite her multiple roles of being the hostess, taking orders and serving food, she had a very cheerful attitude and moved fast. One party left after being told of the wait. Service was slow to get our food but we knew it was no fault of hers. My husband's rack of ribs was delicious and my tilapia was good but a bit heavy on the lemon caper sauce. The restaurant can't properly handle a crowd with only one server and one cook. The owner really needs to hire more staff, especially with the start of tourist season and so many hotels in the general vicinity. read more

While in town, we stopped by for breakfast. The service we received here was fantastic. Two of the people in our party are vegan. Mariah is the best. She was so nice and accommodating. Oh my gosh! Sunday morning and the family and I had just got done hiking to Keyhole Cave, after hiking to the top of Sugarloaf and we were famished. Popped into Nick's and we all ordered breakfast. Everything was perfectly prepared, the pancakes, link sausage, chicken fried steak, omelette, hash browns, home fries...... Wonderful atmosphere. Super friendly folks, from the outgoing owner to the new owner and the rest of the staff. They made us feel right at home. Legendary service!! Great local west Sedona place! We met local customers and were able to chat while waiting for Nicks to open. There are pictures of old Sedona on the walls, very cool! I had the eggs Judy, very different with the cream cheese, and really good! I was hoping the cinnamon bread would be tastier, it was dry, my husband enjoyed his breakfast tacos and loved the potatoes with bits of onion and green pepper. I rarely write reviews. I only post when I feel I can help a small business out. When my fiancé and I travel, we love visiting local or "hole in the wall" restaurants. Nick's was exactly this; food was amazing! After a long wait time at Coffee pot, I'm glad we found this place. Waffles were crispy. I especially loved that the butter scoop was not in the middle of the waffle like most restaurants. It soaks the waffle with pure butter by the time I receive it, which I hate. Berries were fresh. Stopped off here for breakfast on a weekday morning. It was busy, but not overly, it's a smallish place, but I think they have the balance right. We were seated straight away by our friendly waitress. We both ordered the special of the day, brisket omelette, it came with a choice of either hash browns or home fries & toast. There was a choice of bread, wheat, white, sourdough, rye etc. The brisket was flavorful & tender & filling! The coffee was good, with refills. The restrooms were clean & all in all, a great experience. This is definitely a real locals place, not a tourist trip like most of the restaurants in uptown Sedona. In fact, right after we sat down the waitress asked if we'd move since a local had just come in and asked for their usual booth haha. No problem, so we moved to the other side of the restaurant and enjoyed our meal. This place has a huge menu including BBQ, breakfast served all day, and tex-mex. It was tough to decide but I went with the pork enchiladas with green sauce. I was starving but it was still a TON of food and I was barely even able to finish it all. The enchiladas weren't the best I've ever tried but they were tasty and came with a ton of food, so I would get them again. I didn't try a drink but they do have a full bar as well. As someone else mentioned, parking can be tough but luckily we were able to get a spot. Don't go here expecting a gourmet five star meal, this a local spot that offers tasty food at reasonable (for Sedona) prices. I'd come back here for an enjoyable meal at a real local spot. read more

this place was one of the best places I've eaten BBQ and I typically don't order BBQ. I tried the "sampler" meal and HOLY MOLY, portions are definitely not a concern. We stopped in after ATV'ing for a late lunch/early dinner. Our waitress was fantastic as well. Not impressed. Took a while for the server to come to the table so we could order our drinks and the ribs had hardly any meat at all. It took 30mins to get our food from the time we ordered and the cheddar/bacon burger tasted like bbq...not what was ordered or wanted. We visit Sedona every so often and won't be back to Nick's. We would have had a much better experience at the pizza place just south. The server is lucky she got a 15% tip. read more

I love a good barbecue, but unfortunately this place did not have it. The chicken was dry and had very little flavor. Same with the beef and pork ribs. The flavor was just not there and somehow they were dry as well. My son had a hamburger that was ok. They sell all sorts of foods so maybe some of the other selections are better. We had tried two other breakfast spots in Sedona on a Thursday which fell short due to closures. Glad Nicks was open it didn't disappoint. Great service and immediately were sat by Tiffani who was friendly and punctual. I had the brisket & eggs which came with some tasty bbq sauces. We walked there from our hotel but noticed the parking lot is small, so you may have parking issues. Nice, traditional Bloody Mary's made from scratch as well as scratch-made corned beef hash. We stopped by Nicks for a lunch after a 5 am hike. We were greeted & sat promptly. The service was great; we did not go without a refill. The food was reasonable priced (shocking for Sedona) and it was yummy! The food fulfilled our hunger that we worked up that morning. It was quite satisfying. Ramazan & the young man who oversaw refills (Sorry! Didn't grab a name) was always chipper & smiling. Sidenote - the place is called Nicks. Who is Nick? I don't know. When I asked the young man, he did not know either. It would have been a fun fact to know the story of the restaurant or who Nick was =) Air conditioning would have been pleasant - maybe next time we visit, they will have cooler temps inside the restaurant while we enjoy our lunch.
