Tucked away in small mini mall. Daughter suggested this place . Clean interior and host was attentive. We ordered green tea yellowtail collar langoustine sushi eel sushi and Chef's Choice. The portions were oversized and amazing. There are lunch and dinner specials. Will definitely return.

Great sushi spot with generous servings (really thick sashimi slices) and fresh ingredients.

Originally opened in 2008 Niko Niko Sushi sits on the northern side of the Palms District near Mid City LA. I live a bit west of this location and I've passed it countless times over the years but this past weekend my friends and I were looking for a great local spot and Niko Niko popped up on our must visit list. A few of us who are from LA have already been here, but it was a new spot to the others in our group. As many of the reviews mentioned the service here is very friendly and everything that we ordered came out very fast. Pricing is what is to be expected for a sushi restaurant, there are definitely a lot cheaper places, but also a lot more expensive places. You will have to pay a lot more for Omakase at one of the older sushi restaurants in LA which is known as a sushi city. I think Niko Niko is a great balance between casual and premium and we all had a great experience. They have a free parking lot attached to the tiny shopping center that it's located in so parking won't really be an issue ever. For our visit we ordered a mix of items, which is common for all of our sushi visits. We started off with a series of nigiri, my favorite being albacore and sweet shrimp which they had both. Next came a few different hand rolls and we especially enjoyed the blue crab hand roll special , which was filled with delicious real crab. Lastly, we got a few different special rolls for the table and each one was a real hit. The portion size was very generous and honestly all of the items were very good. Our bill came out to be about $175 for four people without alcohol so it definitely could've been cheaper, but also could've been way more expensive, just depends on what you are used to. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sushi spot, especially if you're looking for a casual spot that also has premium ingredients.

I always get the National Roll! It's perfect!

Food, service, and ambiance is always lovely here. I've been coming here for years.

Upgrading to 5 stars! The spicy salmon roll and the yellowtail were exceptional today. Out of all the (mid range) sushi places I've been to, Niko Niko is the most consistent.

Love Niki Niko, been going here for 10 plus years. Lovely family owned restaurant. Food is great, service is fantastic. Consistently good restaurant in Rancho Park.

We ordered to go sushi rolls and the rice was cooked well and the fish was pretty fresh. I got the catepillar roll, rainbow roll, Niko Niko roll -!: some other rolls as well. There were a lot of options to choose from so we wanted a blend of fish options. Service was helpful and gave their recommendations for their favorite rolls and were friendly and respectful.

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

Nice of the chef to switch out roe for halibut for me on my omakase. However, probably the worst omakase I've ever had. No creativity, nothing felt premium, chewy fish, flavors didn't mesh, and half of it was salty. The miso soup wasn't scorching, which i appreciated at first but that meant the last few sips were fairly room temp. The real crab handroll was good. If the price point was $35 sushi set I'd give 5/5 but this is supposed to be premium omakase. I've been to other Sushi Enya locations and had good experiences, so this was very disappointing. Stick to the rolls and nigiri.

It was definitely not what I've expected or ever experienced in a Japanese restaurant. We were quickly greeted by the staff and be seated by the wall. The upholstery of our seats were torn. The area where we were sitting was a bit too dark and could definitely add more lights for customers to see their menus. After giving a look at the menu, our server asked if we were ready. I said it's our first time so we need some time to look through the menu. She replied ok and left. We mainly ordered sushi items. Servers brought over each item one at a time. When I almost finished mine, my family is still waiting for theirs. You do see the staff walk by the tables constantly. However, I would hope the servers would ask how is everything and if we need anything else. Overall, sushi tastes fine. I probably won't be back given the experience that we had.

The space is intimate and classic--there are only about 20 seats at the main sushi bar and a couple of small tables tucked on the side, so seating is extremely limited. We ordered a wide variety of sushi, and every single piece was exceptionally fresh, beautifully cut, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The chefs clearly take pride in their craft, keeping things traditional and letting the natural flavor of the fish shine without overloading anything with heavy sauces. I've tried a lot of sushi spots across Southern California, and Hama easily stands out as one of the absolute best.
