    Fresh, wonderful flavors of Eech.

Nina's Bakery is absolutely a must visit for delicious, fresh, authentic Armenian Food and goodies! I have visited this awesome family owned business for years! We have had them cater events & grab market items for creating our own delicious Armenian Foods. I stopped by today in the late afternoon, and everything I wanted was fully stocked. In the refrigerated section, I got fresh Yalanchi, Tabouli, Eech, Baba Ganoush, and Hummus. All these were super delicious, & authentic - & these items I got happen to be Vegan! Being 100% Armenian, let me tell you, I have attended numerous events and their mezza (Armenian Appetizers) are either the ones being served, or they would rival anyone else's! I love that I can count on Nina's to stock my fridge with consistent, delicious flavors! Also picked up some pita bread and Chorag too! Other family faves from here are lahmajoon, tourshi, lavash, manti, & braided string cheese. FYI-The feel when you enter is very welcoming, and it's always nice to be greeted by a member of the family. You can often see the hard working employees in the back making fresh items too. Shelves are stocked & organized with pantry items, refrigerated, and freezer items as well. When I love something, I want others to know about it- so there ya go! Enjoy, go check them out!

Ask the Community - Nina's Bakery

Any word as to when Nina's will open? Or if it will. It is our family's go to and their loss is is palpable 😢

    Bakery is open!

When is the openning date? Why is it taking so long?

I was near there this week and see some construction stuff in the building but no workers...I am looking forward to it opening....too.

    Is this place opened yet?

    Yes. Now open.

Where will the new location be?

7054 N Herndon next to DiCicco's, same strip mall as The Market. Just called them, watch for a February 2019 opening! :)

So it's a month later now, has the new location opened yet and where is it?

They will be at Herndon and West. As of November 10th they are still not open.

Has the bakery opened in their new location?

I was just there on The 15th and it's not open yet 🙁.

I ordered a cake for my birthday and was able to pick it up the morning of the next day. It came with candles, matches, and a cake spatula that you can cut and serve the cake with. I got the cappuccino cake that looks like a cup of cappuccino. The inside was coffee flavored and it was so soft and fluffy. The cream also had coffee flavored and it was absolute heaven in my mouth. It had a caramel top over a white chocolate layer and it also had a chocolate handle, 3 coffee bean shaped chocolates on top, and a couple of chocolate sticks next to the chocolate logo of the bakery. They even wrote Happy Birthday in chocolate on the board the cake was on. The packaging was neat and compact so it didn't take too much space in the fridge and still kept the cake in perfect condition. I always order my birthday cakes from here every year because it's the only bakery that gets the texture of a whole cake actually right. Not dense and heavy, but light and airy and not too sweet.

I spent around 10 to 15 dollars on a few higher priced items and they turned out to be stale. To make matters worse I actually ended up getting sick after eating them. As for the service it was alright overall. The store was very busy and there were only two tellers working but they were pretty fast and I was able to check out at a quick pace. The ambience was nothing crazy to talk about and it just looks like a standard small bakery with some seating. Typically when I have an experience like this I choose not to return. My friends have invited me back since then but after that first experience I just do not have any interest in going back.

She was very nice and asked me what I needed it when I got there. There was so many to pick from. I usually like to get the pork buns, which are my favorite but the second would be the hot dog bun. They really have expanded their menu. It's really a takeout place not to sit down to eat but that's fine. The insight was decorated in Chinese new year, which is the horse. I will be back soon to get their dozen, but if you buy all same varieties, you get the 13 free. Another insight is a take credit cards now and before they didn't only cash base.

Like pork buns are 3.00 cash and 3.09 credit card. But at least that's an option now. Warmly greeted and helped at the front counter when I walked in. Looks like a traditional Chinese bakery with their decor and set up and heard the front counter lady say their food is more based on the south side of China. Their steam pork buns will always be a favorite. I was lucky enough to walk in when they brought out a fresh new batch so it was still nice and warm when I got home. Dough is sweet and fluffy with their bbq pork filling. For 3.00 a bun, it was quite smaller than I remember. The ratio of the dough and filling was also not as portioned. Some bites you just get the dough. First time having their steam chicken buns and was surprised to see that it was sliced chicken with veggies and a slice boiled egg. This was not it for me. It was like eating a stir fry in a bun. Though this bun was bigger and more portioned than the steam pork buns. This was also my first time trying their Shumai dumplings. The flavor was there. A nice umami flavor. But I was missing the bouncy texture of the meat. And for 4 for 7.00 they were pretty small (compared to the dim sum places). Looking forward to trying other others on their menu now that the menu and signs are easier to see/read.

I ordered my usual Papa's Breakfast which comes with French toast, a soft boiled egg, and garlic bread. The French toast was perfectly done with the most softest and tastiest cream on top. I got the peach topping this time, but they have different options depending on what they have in season. The soft boiled egg was so cute and came in its own little egg holder with tiny spoon. The garlic bread was nice and crispy with a satisfying crunch when you bite into it. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here as usual and it made my visit with my friend a comfortable time together.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming both times we came. One thing I really appreciated was seeing the managers out on the floor helping serve customers instead of just staying behind the scenes. It made the whole place feel really warm and personal. I'm already looking forward to bringing more of my friends and family here. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't been yet!
