Of course New Years day was hectic but there seemed to be no order in the restaurant. With a bunch of to-go orders piling up and customers requesting to be seated it was very difficult to actually enjoy the experience. Food was coming out late and not all together, leaving some of my party hungry while others had to eat before food got cold. This place was exceptional. I ordered the Panang and chicken satay from the recommended menu and they were delicious. No spice scale though and in my opinion the spice level was very mild. About a year ago we got take out from Nine & Nine Thai Kitchen and for whatever reason we weren't particularly impressed - but then on a whim we decided to give it another chance, and it was a heavenly Thai experience of tastiness. We sat in this time rather than ordering take out - maybe that's the trick? Anywho, we ordered the spring roll appetizers, which were massive, freshly made and artfully displayed spring rolls, smashed full of mixed greens and tofu, with a sweet (but not overbearing) dipping peanut sauce. Easily more than an appetizer and could've made for a small meal. Quite impressive for a starter. For our entrees we ordered the kai kua, which was a noodle dish, and panang curry - both HUUUUUUUGE amounts of food for reasonable prices. The savory flavors and perfect level of heat and spice in each were on point, not to mention the tender and fresh chicken in my husband's panang and nicely baked tofu in mine. They also accommodated slight modifications without any issue or extra cost. Service was reasonable, prices are competitive, the ambiance is doing its best despite being on a busy corner of Colorado boulevard - this is definitely going to be one of my new go-to Thai spots in the future. We used to live close by, so it was our go to Thai place, great food. Quick service and nice and cozy ambiance!

Ordered delivery through Yelp while social distancing and was so impressed! The ordering process was easy and quick. We ordered the fried wontons, chicken chow mein, chicken with cashew nut and the garlic and pepper pork. All of the ingredients tasted fresh, not at all canned or frozen. The cashew nut chicken had the right amount of spice to give it a kick without being too hot. The fried wontons were great with the sweet and sour sauce. One word of warning, though -- the delivery time estimate was way off. After placing the order, Yelp said my order would take an hour to be delivered. After confirming with the restaurant, that estimate updated to almost an hour and a half. Without any notice or change to the order status on Yelp, my delivery driver was calling to tell me he was downstairs within 20 minutes of placing the order! This ended up being perfect for us since we were quite hungry by the time we placed the order but it might have been bad if we were trying to time our delivery for any specific reason. They also have great lunch specials with a number of entree options plus rice, salad and two egg rolls for $9.50. This place will definitely become a staple for me. read more

This is the closest thai food place do delivery nearby home. I ordered the Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup. I was so looking forward to this but it turned out to be a sad meal. The food and soup was just warm, which I didn't care too much since it's delivery. The Tom Yum soup was totally not authentic, not satisfying at all. Very good Thai restaurant I went to on Sunday. I haven't been here in many years, but the food is still great! Like most places that aren't fast food, be prepared to wait longer than the estimated time on Yelp. I ordered pad see ew, chicken satay with peanut sauce, and yellow pork curry with rice. Everything was very good, but the chicken was just a touch dry. The curry tastes even better the next day as leftovers. Pad see ew was also very good the next day. After living nearby for years, finally ordered the classic Tom Yum for takeout. Got extra noodles and shrimp to basically split a dish into two between myself and the boyfriend. He loves noods. If I closed my eyes and ate this, I'd say pretty tasty! But knowing that it's a Tom Yum, this does not live up. Noodles cooked well, plenty of ground pork but clearly very little shrimp if you don't add extra (2 is standard and you can get 3 more for $2). Soup was tasty - limey and just spicy with salty seafood flavor but this was not Tom Yum. Might try this place again, but it doesn't have the classic flavor I've expecting for a Tom Yum so makes me a little doubtful of its other dishes as far as authenticity, but I'm sure they will be tasty! read more

I had a pleasant experience dining at Nine & Nine. The outdoor seating area is quite nice, especially on a warm day, and is also dog-friendly! The service was very fast, and the waitresses were quick to address any requests that we had. The pad see ew with beef was tasty; the balance of beef, noodles, and egg was excellent. However, I think that the pad see ew has potential to be a bit more flavorful if more sauce was used. The pad Thai, on the other hand, was VERY delicious, and the portion given to us was definitely more than enough for one person. My friends and I decided to get dinner here before attending a show at Pasadena Playhouse. The restaurant was cute and hip - picture frames were nicely decorated on the walls. The servers were warm and accommodating. However, I was widely disappointed with the food. Thai Boat Noodles (2/5): they didn't give us a choice for the kind of noodles that we could order, which was odd since most Thai restaurants give you that option. I ordered spicy but the broth came out pretty sweet. The noodles were overly mushy as well - had a hard time separating them. Overall, I was not satisfied. Pad See Ew (3/5): this dish was also really sweet. My partner added a lot of chili on top, but I don't think that helped much either. If you prefer the sweeter side of Thai food, this is the place for you. But for me, I want more spice and salt please! Street parkings are free after 6pm. read more

One of the best Thai restaurants in Pasadena. The curries are all amazing - i can't just pick one - which usually I can at most restaurants. Thai cuisine is one of my favorites and I've traveled to Thailand as well so take that into consideration.
