Super solid little spot in Botanical Heights! The small plates are great, but the cocktails are the real stars of the show here. The Martinez was our favorite- my husband said "This is what you want a Negroni to taste like," and even I, not being a huge Negroni fan, loved it and would definitely order next time. We also tried Another acid flashback (a delish mezcal concoction), the bordiga rosso spritz (think aperol spritz but with Spanish Vermouth- sooo good) and the Pushing the rock (super boozy, def a sipping cocktail!). For food, we shared the eggplant, carrots and short rib hummus. The Mediterranean flavors were on point for each dish. We made little tacos with the hummus, short rib and arugula on the flatbread and dipped them in the juice from the carrots and it was insanely good. We came for happy hour with a group of five and had the chance to sample a variety of items from the menu. One thing to note: the menu didn't seem fully up to date--we tried ordering three different items but were told they were unavailable. The appetizers were definitely the highlight. Our group especially enjoyed the bread with dips and the onion rings. The onion rings sparked some debate, as they're thinner than usual--less onion-forward and more on the crispy, fried side. Still, they were a hit for some of us. The drinks were solid, though nothing particularly memorable in my opinion. I did appreciate the artistic concept of the space and really enjoyed the bright, airy ambiance. Firstly, I would definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time before coming to avoid a wait, especially on the weekends. We had onion rings and the charred baba for apps with our cocktails and they were all delicious! Our fave was the eggplant dip, the creaminess from the blend, the sweet from the pomegranate seeds, and the freshness from the mint -- omg. The onion rings were hit or miss, some of the onions were too dry (or they fried the layers that were on the exterior). For entrees, we had the gnocchi and braised short rib. They were a bit salty, but so flavorful! The beef was very tender and the gnocchi had a nice slight crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. read more

Good service, food good, a bit pricey for what you get. The baba eggplant was bland, I think the eggplant needed to be roasted more to get a more roasted flavor. The roasted cauliflower was good but the serving was small, for sharing. It had a fire roasted smokey flavor that blended well with the dates. My husband got the short ribs which were plentiful but a little on the salty side. The dessert was disappointing, we ordered the baked apple with ice cream, it arrived cold and the apple under baked. Definitely a place to go for good food, good drinks and great service. I knew it would be hard to get into, so we picked a snowy night and we were lucky to get a seat at the bar. If you want to go, definitely try to get a reservation. I am glad we sat at the bar because the 2 bartenders were EXCELLENT! They both made great drinks and made wonderful suggestions. I started with a rum drink called the Jungle Bird - similar profile to a Old Fashioned and it was really good. My partner got a Old Fashioned and it was perfect - made with Buffalo Trace. We then started with getting some calamari and onion rings. I really liked both but the onion rings are definitely the better of the two. Then we shared the grilled flat iron with manchego potatoes, meatballs, and papas bravas (potatoes). All were excellent. I can say the manchego potatoes were my favorite. I liked the meatballs but my partner didn't, they do have a unique seasoning so just don't expect a traditional tasting meatball. As I said, the bartenders were great and I will definitely think about sitting at the bar again since we had great service. It is a small place and intimate. I really liked the interior. Currently one of my favorite places to eat. the restaurant has nice ambiance, great food with the best service. It also has super nice craft cocktails. i have been 5 times in the past month. The onion rings are a must try there is a nice french dip that you can dip them in. I got the monk fish which is grilled to perfection with a nice crunch mediterranean style with sautéed tomatoes. Nice space, trendy spot, a little loud, and feels very bro-ey with very little diversity. Food was alright, nothing to write home about. Lamb shank left a lot to be desired from a bigger piece of shank with less fat/skin, a cooking method that leaves it more moist and with a better tasting gravy. The mashed potatoes with the lamb shank is overwhelming with the flavor of zataar. The carrots were undercooked. The chicken breast was well cooked but also could have been a little more moist and the "couscous" it comes with is a tiny sample. Grilled eggplant shareable had a good flavor, but for 15$, I am expecting thicker slices. We had the no ordinary rabbit cocktail which tasted like sweet cough medicine. Seems like a trendy spot that doesn't live up to expectations. I've been at places that were less expensive that did everything better. Service was fair. read more
