Grew up in Davis so I've been going to this Noah's my whole life - 30 years. Every experience I have here gets worse and worse. The employees are nice enough, but they are stretched too thin. They usually look exhausted and overworked. The manager was there this morning and her priority was the door dash and online orders. She demanded that her one employee taking in person orders do more online orders cause they were behind. When I got there, I was 1 of 2 people there in person. We each had to wait for them to put in 2 or 3 online orders before they could take our order, even though we're actually there in front of them. I get that we're in some weird times with Covid, and online orders are more and more prevalent, but it's disheartening to see them blatantly ignoring their in person customers. It took them 25 minutes to fill my order of a single breakfast sandwich when I was 1 of 2 people in the restaurant. I think this will be my last visit to this location as they seem to be more concerned with their virtual customers. The employees acted like they didn't want to be there. It was my first time at Noah's so not knowing the menu or items well, I definitely felt like I was taking up their time. I used to love bagels from this place. Not sure what happened but the bagels are really sad and tough to chew through now - worse than those purchased from pre-packaged bagels in a supermarket. The bagels are so good, but every time I order a frozen cold brew it always seems to be forgotten, like the people don't know how to make it! Then I wait a super long time to get it and I have to remind them I ordered it. Also. The last few times they have tasted super different. The cashier was very nice and friendly, no problems with her. However, the girl who gave us our order was extremely rude when I noticed that the side we ordered was not in our bag. We ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and a Nova Lox so the latter bagel was about 13$ alone, we wanted our side. When I went up to ask the short black haired lady about it she first tried to ignore me then just yelled what the order was at me. I asked her about the chips and she replied "we don't have it" and turned away. I asked again if we could get a different side and she just said "we don't have any", to which I replied "you have no other sides?". You could clearly see by the register that they still had sides. Finally her coworker, a blonde gentleman stepped in and got us a side. The cashier was very friendly and I had wanted to use my birthday bagel reward. I was with someone else who ordered 2 other bagels and when their order came out I waited for my bagel as we ordered together. However, the women who was making the bagel stared and asked me what I was waiting for and I told her I had prdered the egg bagel for my birthday reward. She then proceeded to talk to me in a somewhat rude manner telling me that I had to order it at the cashier , which I did. She also said that there was no way for her to know I ordered that if I didnt place the order; however, I did place the order already. So I proceeded back to the register to order it again, and then after scanning my rewards again she proceeds to tell me that its expired already. However, my account and reward says that it does not expire until July 23, making me even more confused. She did not say thank you or anything, the last thing she told me was that it was expired and didn't even give me a chance to show my end of the application. The cashier was extremely friendly! It was the woman who was making the bagels who was quite rude. Im sad to post this as I've had good experiences here; however, today's events upset me quite a bit. Bummer that all Noah's got bought out. You can tell they aren't the same. The atmosphere of this one just is so old with no paintings, shelves completely empty and the service is horrible. They work fast but when you ask questions they're disgruntled. I bought a half dozen and asked for one to be sliced and toasted but the worker said I couldn't do that since I took the bag from him so he just rolled his eyes and grabbed a free bagel. After it was done they just grabbed it and waved it in the air for me to take from them? No bag and how am I going to grab a piping hot bagel straight out of the toaster. Wish it could go back to what it was fifteen years ago when it was kosher, well kept and had people who loved their job. Only coming back here for fresh bagels but I'm bringing my own cream cheese because over $3.50 for one bagel and cream cheese is ridiculous. I used to work at a Noah's Bagels in San Jose when I was in high school, so maybe my standards are a bit higher than they should be for this place. I've only been here a handful of times but I remember distinctly once my eggmit was runny and soggy, and once my bagel was burnt when I asked for it lightly toasted... It is really not that hard to microwave an egg mix from a carton and to turn the knob on the toaster to avoid burnt bagels... Neither is it hard to sweep every hour or so! The fellas who were working the afternoon shift today at Noah's have blown me away yet again. IMPECCABLE service. I haven't been around to go to this Noah's lately, but today I had a craving for my favortie Chedder Jalapeno bagel with Jalapeno shmear. I called in to see if they had the bagel, and of course, being late in the afternoon, they were out. (I don't blame them because these bagels are awesome, who wouldn't want them?) To my surprise they offered to bake me some fresh Cheddar Jalapeno bagels even though I only wanted to order two. Tons of breakfast options, including egg whites in sandwiches. Longest lines on Sat morning by 11:00am. Love the variety of spreads. Location brings a variety of people and families (not just students). HOWEVER: How is it that every time demands are high (lines are long) that the QUALITY of the food is GOES DOWN? I enjoy how quick the service was but really? I could not enjoy my bagel sandwich without it falling everywhere making a big mess. I ordered the signature bacon, avocado, egg white on bagel. But subbed the bacon for spinach. The bagel itself was still a little yum because of the egg whites, but food is about the experience. Which was Not good today. So I kinda lost my appetite. And found my $8.00 not worth it at all. I observed other people's sandwiches also; same thing. It looked like they carelessly shoved tomatoes on top of egg into a smashed bagel bun. No. Not okay. As you'll see in my progression of photos, the bagel which is clearly falling from the inside out. I just moved on this side of town and consider making this my study spot (far back in a corner because it gets a little crowded). But now I might have to rethink. Let's make this quick: Salmon cream cheese on Asiago bagel. Toasted to perfection so that the cream cheese is melted but not too wet. When you chew, the bagel bends softly in unison with the cream cheese. I think it was $3, I last came here in the summer. It was good, but not GREAT. I think salmon LOX would've been better, but the company was sure good. 4 stars for the bagel and cream cheese. (Could've put more cream cheese on it for proportional perfection). read more

This was my first visit to any Noah's bagel, and this place is one of my favorite places to get a bagel in Davis. I'm a big fan of the honey almond shmear. Their blackberry lemonade is great as well. I strolled in around 12 and almost all the bagels were gone. They were even out of bananas so I couldn't try out their smoothies, but let me tell you. Their bagels and shmears are top notch here. I'd love to check out the sandwiches for lunch, and the place seems like a great area to get some work done or study. Parking is kinda crowded for a place in Davis, and the fact that ran out of my favorite bagel (egg) and didn't have anymore bananas for the day brought my review down to a four. Typically I'd come here in the mornings and there are a few customers in the shop and a couple of employees. I love this place and how it's connected to Peet's, I can just get a coffee and a bagel breakfast/lunch without going to different places. My go-to order would be the Nova Lox with a potato salad as a side, light on the cream cheese so I'd get the strong smoked salmon flavor. I'm a creature of habit so that's the only bagel I'd ever tell you able here. I never had much of a problem or complaint with things until my last visit. I know it doesn't reflect on all the other times I've been there but my last visit just really stuck to me. At my last visit, I came a bit after 1pm since I had the day off to sleep in. The oven and blender were broke so my roommate couldn't get a melted bagel and I couldn't get a smoothie. It wasn't too big of a deal for me since I only want my Nova Lox with a sesame bagel. After we ordered, another customer came in with her children and wanted a drink with a bagel. They got their orders first but it was much easier than ours so that was fine. There was only 1 girl behind the counter so I wasn't expecting fast service. One main thing that bugged me the whole time though was that all the food stations that held the cream cheese, smoked salmon and such were wide opened from the time we came in till we left (about 20 minutes). It was a hot day and there were a few flies buzzing around the opened stations... I don't know the rules for this place but when I worked in food service, all food stations were to be closed unless in use. Aside from all the food stations being opened, there wasn't anything else I'd say anything about. I got my food and left with my roommate. After sitting down a few minutes later to have my bagel, I found it incredibly tough to bite though the bagel and it actually made my jaw ache a bit afterwards. Everything else tasted ok so I just wrote it off as a one-time thing. Final Thoughts: Hopefully the next time I come back for a bagel, it would be much more pleasant to eat and I won't have the lingering thought of if a fly had landed on my food. read more

Plain bagel toasted with plain cream cheese and lox yum!! my friends all think I'm gross whenever I add lox to my bagel but I don't care this stuff is the BOMB! The service here is super fast and they always make my bagel the way I like it even if I give them a complicated order like only toast one side :) the staff here are great! My experience with this particular Noah's has been a mix of good and bad. -Unorganized: order at one place, no one knows where to form the line, then you have to walk to a different cash register and repeat your oder to a different person so that you can finally pay for that one bagel you bought. -Slow: once you order your bagel it takes a long time for it to be ready (even a simple whole grain bagel with light cream cheese). -Bad Coffee: dont bother ordering coffee at Noah's, walk 10feet over to the Peet's which is located under the same roof. -Burnt bagels are common -Hard to find seating on a weekend morning +Jalapeno cheese bagel is my favorite +Lots of coupons always in the mail! +When I am craving a bagel this is convenient and satisfies my bagel need. read more

I've frequented this location for personal as well as professional uses. It is a little confusing when you order, but once you know not to go to the register to place your order you don't make that mistake again... however, there is usually someone new who is making the mistake every time I'm in there (you'd think they'd clear up the confusion! oh, well.) Anyhow, the bagels are fresh and they'll toast them up for you if you like. Their product is as expected... and I expect it to be good! I've done a few orders for events and they've always been helpful and recommended the correct amount of cream cheeses etc. to go along with the bagels. This location is filthy. Not on just one occasion, but more than 10 times. The fridges are also not stocked frequently, most of the time they are half empty. Its surprising to me because there is always employees standing around doing nothing. I always order the onion bagel and without fail it is always burnt. Not just a little, but so bad that it looks like a hockey puck. It amazes me that the staff will still serve it. I once ordered an onion bagel melt sandwich and I received the sandwich but on not the right bagel. I brought this to the attention of two girls working, who when they took my order were too busy chatting to acknowledge my existence for more than 5 minutes. The store was empty. Upon bringing it to their attention, they whispered turned their backs to me and proceeded to peal off my melted cheese and meat and put it onto a non toasted or heated onion bagel. Occasionally Noah's bagels will cater breakfast at work, ranging from just assorted bagels and schmears (whipped cream cheese) to pastries, coffee, and tea. My go-to is the Asiago cheese bagel with the Garden Veggie Shmear. On days when I feel daring, I'll go for the Smoked Salmon Shmear. The Cinnamon Sugar bagel with plain shmear is good too! Beware of raisins or blueberries posing as chocolate chips when you select from a box ful of bagel varieties, you may be disappointed. This shop wasn't too busy when I stopped in for breakfast recently, tables and barstools along the walls were available to dine in. The coffee was okay, tried the hazelnut flavor roast and I like Panera's a lot better. Probably should've just walked a few steps and gotten something at Peet's. Overall, a solid bagel shop if you're on the north side of town and don't feel like Safeway/Save Mart bakery. If in downtown Davis though, stick to Posh Bagel near Starbucks. It's a bagel place. I don't expect much, just a toasted bagel, probably some cream cheese on it, and maybe some coffee. Thankfully I go next door to Peet's and get coffee. But the many times I've come to study at Peet's, and also gotten a bagel, I've been greated with rushed and cold customer service. The staff seem like that don't want people, and just rush everyone through. They give off an air of "you aren't good enough to order a bagel here." I'm usually pleased with their selection, and I've never had to worry about them not having what I wanted. It's a tad expensive, and perhaps a cheaper alternative is to walk through the parking lot to Safeway and grab a bagel, but the big turnoff is how rude the workers are. read more

I ordered two bagel sandwiches on their app. When I showed up to pick up my order, the older woman told me they were out of everything. Literally everything. Despite the fact they had lots of bagels in the window and we're serving other people. I was confused but said ok how do I get a refund? She waved me over to the register and asked for my card. She then refunded me for the wrong order, giving me $7 back instead of the $13.94 that my order was. When I pointed this out, she punched something into the register and asked for my card again, then refunding me $5.73. I pointed out that this still didn't add up to my order. She angrily said, "That's 7, and that's 6." And I replied that my order has been 14. She then reached into the register, grabbed two dollars, and shoved it at me, saying fine how's that? I was nearly in tears by the time I left. If you can't take orders, why are you open? Why can you order things on the app that you don't have? I tried calling to place an order and wasn't given the option to speak with anyone. And why was I told you had nothing when you had a store full of bagels and we're giving other people food? Utter BS. I understand staffing is hard during this pandemic but there's no excuse for treating customers like that. read more

There is nothing like a warm six cheese bagel with a generous layer of whipped cream cheese. In a college town like Davis, you can usually find them hot if you go early in the morning. Some people will say there's nothing like a warm bagel in New York City. But I've never seen a six cheese one like at Noah's in Davis. Watch for cars and people in this parking lot. Stopped by for a breakfast sandwich and bagel and cream cheese for the small humans. The bagels were nice and chewy on the outside and soft on the inside. The breakfast sandwich was your standard and not bad by most standards. The ingredients (egg, bacon and cheese) were microwaved but the small human thought it was tasty. The other had a simply toasted bagel with cream cheese. Both were good. Let's talk about the service. Friendly by most standards and quick too. The only thing that bothered me was that it seemed quite chaotic and unorganized. Anyway, would likely return for a bagel if we are in the area. read more

I feel like I should write two separate reviews here because my experiences are that different. On one hand, I come here nearly every week to get a dozen bagels for my bf's breakfast and they usually have what I need (pumpernickel) and the bagels are decent (being from NY they aren't as good as I crave but they get the job done). Its usually a fast process, in and out and I am happy. These experience would make them a 4 star, easily. Then there are the times when I want them to make me something to eat. The spaceshots they have working here are pretty inept. I've had my order forgotten, done wrong, and re-done wrong in one visit. I've had it take 15 mins to make a bagel sandwich. I've been scared by how high some of the employees look (and I'm no straightedge). On these visits, I would give them 2 or even 1 stars depending on the day. I'm not a huge bagel eater, but I must say that I get easily pulled into the bagel-eating lifestyle by strategic coupons places in the junk mail from Noah's. Needless to say, I have a freezer filled with bagels, and 2 tubs of cream cheese, and both pride that I got it all for $6 (w/ coupon), yet a few silent regrets. Noah's is definitely on the low end of my bagel establishment choices. They are typically more expensive, and I don't find their bagels and cream cheeses to be as flavorful as other places (say... Posh Bagel in Davis). I've also tried their egg sandwich, and found it to be quite bland... and even when I got free coffee (with yet another coupon luring me in), their coffee was most definitely lacking (all of the brews they had). But then again, Peet's is right next door, connected to Noah's! How fabulous that you can at least get a real cup of coffee with your bagel. One thing that is delicious though --- Mud Slide Cookie. Which is really just a circular brownie, so I guess it is sort of cheating. Very delicious though. There is one lady there (I think she might be the manager) who is really nice, and really on top of things, but I typically find the rest of the staff to be ... how should I say?.... well suited for their job?.... which makes it more embarrassing for them when they fail to complete simple orders with accuracy.
