The good thing is most are 2 hour free parking. Came in on a Saturday around 10am and it was pretty packed but still a couple of tables open. At first I thought it was two separate sides of the restaurant, one being sit down service and the other being counter service but figured it out after seeing people have order number stands sitting on their table. You go up to the counter to order and pay, they give you a number to put on your table and the food will come to your table. Water is self serve and they also have ice where you can scoop yourself into your cup or if you have a reusable water bottle. I ordered the eggs Benedict and the poached eggs were perfect. The potatoes come with a little sauce tin of ketchup on the side. I wish each table had ketchup so you could use as much ketchup to your heart's desire without bugging someone.

It came with a "half salad" which I got to choose, so I chose the Fuji salad, it was huge! It was the size of a regular salad! All of this for $19. I also got the ginger shot mixed in carrot juice which I loved. You order at the counter and then receive a number and choose your own table, then they bring your order to you when you are ready. When you first walk into the cafe you'll see the food case just to your left. It is filled with cafe items such as croissants, muffins, and cookies. There are savory items as well as sweet. I found the quality of the food here to be quite good and unique. Sometimes cafe food just feels like it came from somewhere else, but even if these did, they have a uniqueness about them. For example, the chocolate croissant is very flakey with a good amount of chocolate in the interior. It really surprised me! I also found the ham and cheese croissant to be very rich in flavor. My only gripe about either or these items was the heating method. I'm not sure how they are heated up, but they feel as though they used one of those quick heaters to quickly get them ready rather than a good toaster to get the items nice and crisp. As good as they are they were a bit limp due to the heating method. In terms of coffee, it's perfectly adequate. They have special offerings as well as their traditional menu. I found the coffee to be mild and friendly. It's not too strong nor very unique. It's just a solid cup. Sometimes that's really all you need.

The rack of lamb was cooked correctly but lacked character. Lamb should taste like lamb, and this one played it too safe. Not bad, just forgettable. The vegetables let the plate down. Overcooked Brussels sprouts and unevenly cooked sweet potato aren't what you expect at this price point. Worth the visit. That croquette alone earns it.

Another visit to Noah's. I ordered a Deli Pastrami Sandwich and an extra Asiago cheese bagel. It wasn't too crowded early in the morning, and most people were ordering things which the woman at the counter could immediately hand to the customer. There were three other women behind the counter assembling orders. But despite that staffing, it took a really long time to get my order. I watched them as they worked in the back. I remember thinking none of them would be working at Togo's a few doors down. They were working deliberately, but not very quickly. The Asiago bagel was just okay, nothing really impressive. This place is consistently disappointing. Every time I visit, something goes wrong. The cashier seems to always mess up my order, and the overall quality of the food is just lacking. Maybe I'm to blame for returning, but sometimes I just don't want to drive downtown for a bagel or I'm in a hurry on my way out of town. Regardless, this place needs a change in management--it's frustrating to see such carelessness, especially during non-peak hours like a Thursday afternoon. California does many things well: fresh air, mountains, beaches, tans, hippies, and cosmetic surgery. Bagels, usually not so much, and I miss them terribly (the East Coast is one helluva commute for a damn bagel!). Many Californians don't know what they're missing, don't know what a good bagel is.
