Food is great, but the service needs some work. I've dined here on 3 occasions now despite the reviews, and I agree that they hold some validity. Two of the three times the orders were incorrect. I think it might be due to the newness of some of the employees, but the first couple of times I was received with blank stares when asked to hold the ham on my farmhouse sandwich or ordering a sandwich with a specialty bagel. The food generally has been good though. The farmhouse, when made correctly, is delicious. The gravy slathered in between just helps to bring everything together. I have to acknowledge awesome customer service. Since its so few and far between. One day I came in for lunch and ordered myself a Lox Sandwich on an Everything Thin Bagel. I love their thin bagels. The inventor of the thin bagel should be awarded with something. I got a side of Potato Salad. They have great Potato Salad. Its the perfect Potato Salad. Not to pickley, not to sour, just the perfect amount of creamyness. Its great. I also indulged in a regular Iced Coffee. Which you do have to make your own iced coffee at the coffee bar. They give you the ice and you can pour the coffee onto it. Excellent service lox sandwich on their everything thin bagel. Great potato salad. Iced regular coffee have to make your own at the mixing table. Whoever is managing the place should know that I was really impressed with their customer service. It was above and beyond great. The lady working the register Saturday afternoon 8/18 was unbelievable rude!! I ordered a bagel and was told that they were all out when there were a bunch of them in the case. She kept saying no, when I pointed to it she said they just stuffed those in there, meaning what was there didn't match the labels. So I asked what kinds they had because sorry I'm no bagel expert and can't visually tell which is which. She VERY rudely and quickly named them off. There was no one in line behind me so I wasn't holding anyone up. Except her I gThe only reason I didn't walk out right then and there was because I was picking up food for my daughter and didn't want to disappoint her. I came for the spinach egg panini which I grew up on but they didn't have it. If you are expecting Noah's Bagels you're in for a huge surprise. Their selection is extremely limited compared to other locations. They don't even have a single panini. Even their signature egg bagel sandwiches are made differently compared to other locations, and don't taste nearly as great. They might as well just call themselves "Noah's bagels impostor" because nothing they sell resembles Noah's Bagels items. Customer service was great though. read more

Peet's doesn't really "do" bagels so off I go. super hungry, needing a food fix... a nice younger gal takes my order & repeats it back. Sounds correct, I pay, proceed to wait. *** I'm not a scrutinizer of receipts (you know those people that step outside & read their receipts like a geo-map?) for some reason I got an inkling to just look at mine while waiting. The girl had charged me for a "side" of cream cheese even tho I ordered one of those packaged cream cheeses from the cooler. How could I not be more clear? "1 bagel plain. toasted. and THIS cream cheese (package)" but I get charged for the package & a side. She did make the adjustment but in that time it took an extra chunk of 15 minutes of waiting. Another visit involved ordering my favorite "potato peppercorn" paying for it, etc... I guess protocol is you pay and the bagel makers grab your bagel hopefully within the next moment and put it into the oven. well, someone else had ordered the same thing & essentially they got the bagel! I was greeted with, "Sorry ma'am. Someone grabbed the last........." Uh, not my problem you didn't grab it fast enough. It's not the point if my money is refunded or another flavor is suggested, myself as well as others expect what they see available while paying. Anything less is unacceptable. Rude staff. The woman working the register today and the girl who was making the food (7/15/18 at noon- I wish I had gotten their names) were so snappy and rude to me and my friends but very nice to everyone who came in after us. It was to the point that we were wondering if she had a problem with our race. Seriously. I could have forgiven or at least understood that someone's having a bad day, but the way she treated us versus everyone else was SO staggeringly different that it must have been some personal problem she had with us. We were perfectly polite and friendly, so I don't know what else it could have been. First, we've never been to this place so we took a few minutes to look at the menu. I politely let her know that we wanted to take a moment. She apparently had an issue with this. I was taken aback by how irritated she got when we didn't order right away. When I went up to order, she was curt, irritated, and didn't smile or greet me. Second, she was extremely snappy with me when I asked what bagels were available for my lox sandwich order. Instead of telling me what was available (like she happily did for the next customer who asked her the same question), she curtly tipped her head toward the display case. I asked for Asiago because I saw the "Asiago" label on the display case, and she put the order in. The girl who was making the sandwich snidely said, "there aren't any Asiago bagels left so I'm confused by this order." How was I supposed to know that when the woman TAKING THE ORDER didn't know that? Instead of apologizing and asking me what I wanted instead, they had the audacity to act like I did something stupid and wrong. At this point, my friends and I were all angry. We sat and watched as the woman at the register was genial and friendly to everyone else who came in after us. I WISH I got their names before I left or talked to a manager. I didn't want to ruin my day (we were visiting bridal shops for my wedding dress) so I tried to get past it. However, the behavior of the staff was inexcusable. While I love Noah's Bagels -- I was quite disappointed in the service. Running errands and stopped to grab lunch for my family at 1:50 (saving it for the last stop knowing they close at 2pm). I was informed once I was in the store that they decided to close early and wouldn't serve me - plenty of staff and bagels available, but just didn't want to provide service though the store was still "open." Trying to be understanding because I work in hospitality but I was shocked at the lack of willingness to still serve a paying (repeat) customer and disregard. The bagels are extremely delicious! I love the wide variety you get to choose from, there is almost any type you can imagine. My favorites are the cinnamon bagel and the wheat bagel. Inside, the smell of all the bread is irresistible! The décor reminds me of the shops in New York, it is such a nice atmosphere. Can't wait to come back! This is the bagel shop closest to my home, so I ordered my bagels only from them in the past years. The food is ok, but their employees are so unprofessional and unfriendly. Looks like they are very unhappy working there, and the customers are nothing in their eyes. Still, I tried to live with that until the past Sunday..... It's very disappointing the service I received. But it goes along with the poor rating of Noah's. A food establishment should have higher standards, pandemic or not! If conscientious management emphasized this AND employees had better ethic and concern for their customers then they wouldn't use the same gloves for baking, handling the customer's orders/food And worst of all operating the cash register and customer's credit card or money. And why the signs posted for Contactless payment if they're not going to follow that for every transaction??? Being in the industry for food service, Noah's employees should know and follow standards so as to avoid Cross Contamination. I doubt the health department would agree with the protocol being followed here. When I visited this location today I experienced this very issue. The employee used the same gloves that she had on in the back of the store, came to the register to login, fixed my food and also handled payment with my card. Everything we ordered was a challenge, was told there was no cucumbers, no Lox after we ordered lox sandwiches, was told no when asked for a cold brew. Completely wrong order didn't get anything of what we asked for. Didn't receive half the order. Was charged almost $20 for this and was told "our receipt machine's broken so you can't get a receipt" no explanation of itemized charges whatsoever. This is on top of seeing them pull bagels out of box of an order ready for a dozen bagels to satisfy customers in store.... (wasn't about to take a bagel from someone else's order to satisfy mine I didn't need it that bad. Still didn't get what I ordered anyway). Not to mention when I asked for a plain bagel and was told "we only have one bagel and he (my boyfriend) already ordered it soooo no you can't get a plain bagel. We don't have any bagels." (??? Am I missing something ???) Disputing the charge as I type this w/ my bank for the shitshow we had to deal with, let alone not getting a receipt or an explanation for any charges. Also, if Carol serves you, I'm really sorry. Carol said she didn't want to make my cold brew when the cashier asked her then begrudgingly made it after being asked another couple times. I am writing this review as I agree with some of negative feedback initially but as I continue to show up for my bagel not daily but maybe once a week, the staff has gotten to know me and are kind. They may not be the most vocal bunch but they treat me well. Carol knows me by name and she is accommodating to me. I know most people expected extreme friendliness but they do their job so if they are not as friendly as you expect then maybe you need to lower your expectations after you are just coming in to get your bagel (s). I will never step foot in Noah's Bagels again. Staff was disorganized and rude. The cashier couldn't follow directions, like no tomato, and put the correct info into the register. Even after he did, the lady making the sandwiches couldn't follow directions on her end. Got home, and there was barely any tuna on my bagel and they made my husband's on the wrong type of bagel. I love Noah's bagels but I am truly disappointed in this experience. I ordered a blueberry bagel with strawberry shmear and my mom ordered a pumpernickel with bacon. The lady at the cash register had the bitchiest face and attitude. Before she handed us our bag, she looked and unwrapped my moms bagel and placed a single piece of bacon in the middle. We left and when I opened my bagel, it was regular cream cheese--not what I ordered. We called the manager and we told her how we felt and all she said was "yeah....have a good day". Unbelievable. We come about once a week and these two employees are always friendly and give you a feeling they remember who you are, makes the dining experience all that much better. The servers at this location are incredibly unfriendly. I was there yesterday and two servers were dismissive and rolled their eyes at my order. Then one server noticed that another customer was standing where the DoorDash drivers come to pick up and rudely told her to move. The customer didn't move because the server was rude and there were literally no other customers in the place. I only go here occasionally- typically if Bagel St Cafe is closed for a holiday or if im right next door at Safeway and craving a bagel. I will say I used to be a loyal and very regular customer- several times a week. This is before I got fed up with such slow service and then started going to Bagel St Cafe and discovered how much better BSC is in every way. This review is going back over years and, let's say 20 visits... prompted by my experience today... I spent so much time waiting in line ... that's the theme here ... "waiting" ... I had plenty of time to write this review. - Food - not bad, but nothing special. Really great variety of bagels. BAC bagels are WAY better. The sandwiches are pretty good, but again nothing extra special. Some of the cookies are really good. Overall, I'd give 3.25-3.5 stars on food overall. Respectable but nothing extra special. - Service - this is where this place suffers BIG TIME. At their best, service is just ok. Barely. You may get a friendly person occasionally, never rude. But they are always SO SLOW and at times just lack basic common sense. This is over the past several years. Doesn't matter whether busy or not- ALWAYS SO SLOW. When you watch the workers you see an utter lack of urgency or expediency. Very frustrating. When I visited today, they were out of almost everything at 1030 in the morning. I mean, c'mon. Huge line moving at snails pace. Once they took my basic order- 2 bagels toasted, 1 w butter the other with avocado- I got it pretty promptly- which is really rare. Dined at the Pleasanton location for the first time in many years. The woman who took our order had an attitude from the start. She seemed annoyed we were there and wearing AirPods while working. There were 3 of us and she stopped asking what else we wanted after 2 orders so I finished my order at the cash register. She got real snippy and asked what else we wanted. The cashier asked if our order was for here or to go. We said for here not knowing they closed at 2pm. It was 1:45 when we arrived. We bought cups for the soda machine and my husband got sprayed down because part of each soda was missing the part that stops liquid from spewing out. Not to mention every soda was out. It was only carbonation. After wiping down from the soda machine, our food was ready. We went to sit down and was immediately told they were closing and we had to leave. I don't know about you but other establishments would have told us when ordering they were closing and not offered us to eat here. The children who were working that day should be schooled on customer service and not kick out your customers because you want to go home. Will not be back to this or any other Noah's location. Stopped by this morning as I was in the area and what a big disappointment. The bagel itself was fine the but this location lacked good customer service. I wasn't treated horribly or anything but just didn't get greeted and there was no eye contact from the guy taking my order. When my bagel was ready he just called my name and handed it me. I guess you can say he did his job but I guess I'm just so used to getting better customer service that this caught me off guard. Oh the bagel itself was good but I noticed that it was pretty small. I've come here multiple times, and door dash drivers/customers have taken my food more than once. The most recent time somebody took my order, the girl at the counter said they'd remake it and it would be ready in about five minutes. I waited at their outdoor seating and went back in 8 min later, and she informed me they were now out of the bagel I wanted & offered to make my sandwich on a different bagel. I was tired of waiting and requested a refund. This fiasco came a week after another one of our orders was taken, and a male worker gave my boyfriend (who was being polite the whole time) attitude about having to remake our food.
