Great accidental proximity location! My wife chose my hotel and when I checked in I looked to see…read moreif I had any nearby bookmarks. This place was directly across the street. Dive bar vibe is the feels. String lights, old creaky floors, big bay window, lots of outdoor seats, plenty of bar for us all! Total NOLA vibe! Bartenders were cool. I got a bit inebriated twice here and ate here once. Love that I could just walk back to my swanky hotel. Solid choice, C! Check out Hotel Henrietta if you are nearby. I asked the guy behind the what he recommended. Instantly he said "the mussels". You don't have to say another word, bruh. I had the mussels for my meal, obviously. Wow. They were perfect. The sauce was amazing, not sure what the white shit was, don't partake in that mess. The mussels were expertly cooked and seemed really fresh. The hand cut fries were also really good. I loved this meal and this joint! If I were local, I'd be a regular for sure. Get your ass in here if you can. I would advise getting the mussels. 100% '26 - 95

Chimmay on tap was dry but a Fin Du Monde was available to save the night. Big portion of house mushrooms had some bonus artichoke hearts and peppers in there for a nice surprise. This sport has a retro undisturbed decor and vibe. Bartender was able to make a nice substitute suggestion of a red wine for me also.

Great to see this place back to its original vibe--another solid save by Dickie Brennan…read more The menu is extensive, but the real draw is the oyster station. We went late on the final Sunday of Jazz Fest, so it was a bit quieter than expected, which made for a relaxed experience. The standout of the night was the raw oysters--big, classic Louisiana oysters at a very reasonable $2.33 each. We've come to prefer the flavor of smaller New England oysters, but at $3-$3.50 each, these were a great value. For entrées, we had three fish dishes and a veal piccata--the latter was the only miss. Overall, we had a very enjoyable evening. Total for four, including tip, came to about $310. Definitely worth a visit--this is a true New Orleans institution.

I really wanted to love Pascal's Manale. We had heard so many great things about this New Orleans…read morestaple, but unfortunately our experience fell well short of expectations. We did have a late 9:30 reservation, and while I understand we were dining close to closing, if a restaurant accepts the reservation, I still think the same standards should apply. There were definitely some highlights. The crab cake was phenomenal, my crab stuffed fish was delicious, and our server was incredibly kind and gracious throughout the evening. Unfortunately, there were just too many misses to overlook. The meatballs arrived in a chipped dish with a long hair in them. Several of the cocktails were disappointing, and while my fish was great, the vegetables were lukewarm and lacked flavor. The crab pasta was extremely bland and watery with very little noticeable crab meat. The most uncomfortable moment was the chicken Parmesan. Some of the cheese stuck to the server's napkin while he was placing the plate down. He pulled it off the napkin and put it back onto the entrée. My friend tried to eat some of it, but ultimately didn't feel comfortable and left most of it behind. We actually stopped mentioning issues because we felt terrible continuing to complain, especially since our server was so nice. To their credit, they removed the pasta and cocktails from our bill and brought us complimentary desserts. The bread pudding and ice cream were delightful and we genuinely appreciated the gesture. I love the historic, old school character of the restaurant, but there was also a noticeable sour smell throughout the space that took away from the charm. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad night, but for a restaurant with such a longstanding reputation, there were too many shortcomings to ignore. I appreciate the hospitality and their attempts to make things right. I just wish the overall experience had lived up to everything we had heard. I also want to mention that a manager never touched our table. I'm almost certain I saw him multiple times sitting while on his cell phone. As a hospitality professional, this shocked me. With so many glitches I expected an apology or check in for the lapse in service.

I went during happy hour and enjoyed their crawfish pizza and draft beers. I sat at the bar and received great service. The location also features an open area to view the pizza being assembled and one family was partaking in assembling their own pizzas. Overall, I highly recommend!

Very disappointing experience at Pizza Domenica. Our party of three ordered pizza, chicken wings,…read moreand pasta, and the meal had far more misses than hits. For starters, they were out of pepperoni - a pizza restaurant out of pepperoni?? The wings were tasteless and covered in a strange dry rub with a texture that reminded me of wet chalk. They didn't taste fire-roasted at all; they seemed more like they had been baked or microwaved. Service was also frustrating. We ordered a beer, wine, and water, but the water never arrived despite reminding our waiter three times. I eventually had to get it myself. The pasta arrived so late that two of us were already halfway through our meals. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the wait, it was terrible and couldn't finish it. The bill came to $130, including a 3% administrative fee, which felt particularly insulting after spending $39 on three glasses of overpriced wine. Several staff members, were high and the guys in the kitchen, appeared extremely impaired. The positives: The Calabrese pizza was genuinely good, and our waiter was friendly and pleasant despite the service issues. Unfortunately , one good pizza and a friendly waiter weren't enough to overcome the poor quality food, slow/inconsistent service, and extra fees.
