After a long day at the slopes, I'm always looking for a great noodle spot. We're from the LA area so I searched for this prior to our arrival. We went in at exactly 5pm which is when they reopen for diner and they already had patrons waiting to get in outside. I ordered the beef pho and the spinach noodles. The spinach dipping noodles were absolutely delicious! Even better than most dipping ramen spots in LA. The pho was great as well and the entire vibe of the restaurant had the same vibe as most pho/Thai places. This place is a Vietnamese/Thai fusion restaurant but they very much nail the flavors on the dishes we tried. The food came out very fast and warm which is important and something I look for in crowded places. About half an hour later the entire restaurant started packing in and they had to open up a waitlist. I highly recommend dining here to get a great authentic Vietnamese/Thai cuisine. Living near Garden Grove with a large Vietnamese population, we've been able to have fantastic Pho. this place is as good as anything I've had in Garden Grove. Very large portions with lots of meat in the bowl and their pork dumplings are amazing as well. Staff is very friendly and the food came out very quickly. I am glad I stopped here for lunch. The reviews on Yelp were good and directed me into trying this lil spot. I'd say it was more that the co- owner's response to her reviews guided me here. When an owner personally responds, it shows passion for their business and want to make it right. Food was good, hearty portions and full of meat. I do wish there were more authentic meats in the Pho (Tendon, tripe and the like) but I know it's Mammoth. The broth did need a bit more depth of flavor, maybe a touch more star anise and ginger notes? But overall a 7.5 out of 10. I also wish they had more side options. This place is legit! I was excited to try the Khao Soi and was not disappointed. The broth had a delicious chili garlic flavor with a slight tang from the tomato. They don't skimp on the meat either--the soup had a hearty amount of ground pork. In general, they make sure you get fed here! The regular portion size I got was substantial and filling. My family ordered pho and agreed that the portions were generous! The pho broth was solid too. So good! Oh, and I liked the drink selection they offered. My sister got the guava juice and I ordered an unsweetened jasmine tea. It sounds trivial but I always appreciate a good strongly-brewed jasmine tea! That water too--apparently it's mountain spring water which is cool! The service was also excellent at Noodle-ly! We were helped by Ariana who was so kind and attentive. Me and my fiancé came from the Bay Area to visit Lake Tahoe-Mammoth Lakes area. We wanted to try something she has never tried before. I've always enjoy a good bow of PHO, but she has never tried it. We ended up choosing this spot for lunch. She definitely enjoyed this spot for lunch. She got the chicken noodle bowl- regular size, w/rice noodles. They have photos of their main noodle dishes on the wall and you can choose from small or large. I ordered the BBQ pork egg noodle soup (large) cause I was really hungry. I was too ambitious and couldn't finish all my noodles. Pros: lots of bbq pork and good tender meat pieces for the price. Meat to noodle ratio was on point. Cons: my noodles were not cooked the best; they were stuck together in chunks as I made my way eating through them. My friends got the khao Soi noodles which they liked. We ordered two vegetarian items off the menu for takeout; the pho and the spinach noodles with omg sauce. Unfortunately, the team forgot to include the sauce with the spinach noodles, but were very quick to remedy the situation once I got home and noticed, offering to give me my item for free and provide the sauce. Note that you need to make sure you snag a bowl early in the day or at least get your order in early because there is a limited quantity available each day. The pho was very warming and made with care, and adding the OMG sauce to the broth was a neat way to augment the flavor. Meanwhile, the spinach noodles were quite tasty, but noodles were a little dry with just the small quantity of OMG sauce. We have been to this restaurant twice, and this will be a must-visit restaurant for us whenever we visit Mammoth Lakes, Yosemite, or surrounding area. We found it through Yelp reviews, and we found them to be accurate in describing the ambiance, warnings for how busy this place can be, and deliciousness of the noodle dishes. Tips: 1. Come early for dinner. They can run out of items because they are so popular, and some items take several days to prepare (they are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare their special broth). 2. Do order the OMG sauce if you like things spicy and flavorful! 3. Enjoy the atmosphere, friendly staff, local art available for purchase on the walls, and fresh and hot noodle dishes 4. COVID-19 safe practices here - all employees are wearing masks (and they are wearing them properly, but below their noses or pulling them down when talking), but you are still taking a chance when it gets busy and packed with people, although the space between tables is not terrible. We ended up having our meal changed to "to go" when a group of about 16 people which took up 3 tables behind us came in. The takeout order was still hot and delicious, but they nearly forgot to give us the OMG sauce that we had paid extra for. 5. The restaurant owners use compostable bags and cutlery, as well as cardboard packaging instead of styrofoam, which is awesome that they are trying to be more eco friendly. In the restaurant they use metal utensils and glassware for drinks, and straws are available if that is your preference. 6. There is no bathroom available for use at this restaurant. You have to go into the mall beside the Starbucks. They only have a sink available for hand washing only. This makes sense, due to the space limitations. Maybe a larger location will be opened in future, but they currently have a great location in town. 7. Don't forget to try the boba!! Delicious, slightly chewy, perfect. And the drink is not too sweet if you ask your server to modify your drink. Enjoy! This independently owned restaurant deserves all of their 5 star reviews. Three words for Noodle-ly...Dee - li - cious! The restaurant mentions that it is closed on Tues and Wed to make the pho broth, so I had to give it a try. I'm not pho-xpert, but I have had enough to be able to distinguish good from bad, I think. We ordered the #1 (pho with rare steak) and #3 (Khao Soi). Plus, we ordered Thai Milk Tea boba and a Taro Boba.. We really enjoyed the richness of the pho broth. Clearly a legit broth! The beef was tender, and there was enough Thai basil, lime and bean sprouts. The only "complaint" is that I thought the pho broth was slightly too salty. We enjoyed the Khao Soi. Enough kick to supplement the soup without overpowering the flavor. To top off the meal, the boba itself was well-cooked. Just enough chewiness but a little solidity in the center...the best boba in Mammoth Lakes area that I have had. The drinks themselves were tasty, too. I had a nice conversation with Taylor, the co-owner, learning about the restaurant, her and her husband, who is the main cook, and Mammoth. STILL my go to solo spot in town. Taylor and Pat are amazing owners and I respect the hustle. Get the Khao Soi + side veg it's my every time option every time! I've sent many of my own customers I'm serving on recommendation there when they want something affordable and different in town than the usual American Mexican food off the hill. I enjoy this place to decompress, eat some noodles and just enjoy a nice bowl of hot brothy goodness. I tried their Khao soi soup with egg noodles and loved the dish. If you can tolerate sriracha flavor you should be able to tolerate the spicy level of the dish. My gf tried their pho with braised beef which isn't spicy and she enjoyed the dish as it's more the traditional pho flavor with tasty beef. They did have some seating for wait times as they are a popular location especially around dinner so go early ! I think we waited 50 mins or so for dinner. Worth it. read more

You need to have your name down, and they will honor anyone on the wait list.  They have outdoor seating right now during COVID season, but the Creek Fire was giving us a real smoky time that cold, windy Friday night, so we opted to wait for a table inside. No complaints from Taylor. She told us we could wait inside the plaza's interior atrium. We did. And she did come by every 5 to 10 to check on all waiting parties. When it was time for us to leave the safety of the atrium, she even opened the door for us. Best. Service. Ever. Pho sho. For a casual eatery at least.  The staff, including her, also came out to check on us without being intrusive.* This was also a week before Halloween, so even with the masks and shields up, the owners, like many others in town, decided to lighten up the mood and Deck the halls with gouls and monsters, La-la-la-la-la Ly-ly, ly-ly --------------------------------------------------------- So we end up ordering the #3 Khao Soi, #8 spinach noodle, and the #5 The Noods-noodles (bbq pork noodle).  The #3 khao soi was good just like last time. There were pieces of tomato in the broth. Ah, no wonder the dish tasted so fresh, especially compared to my other khao soi experiences. Read my previous review for the other details. And if my eccentric writing style entertains you, why don't you hit that follow button, give this a like, funny, or cool. ** The #5 is basically a char-siu lo-mein/叉燒撈麵, something that, yes, you can make at home, but you are probably not from Mam.... *** Sure, it's just noodle, pork, aromatics, and sauce, but they do a great job here, and I mean it, I truly do. The #8 spinach noodle with the OMG sauce might come off basic*** made in house spinach noodles with their OMG sauce on the side, but that sauce is sooo good. Perfect balance of saltiness, slight tang, kick, and a little sweetness to reset  your taste buds and keep them wanting more. The spinach noodle has the best texture of all the noodles, a good chewiness without the egg noodle's odor. It's a good, pure way to enjoy the noodle and the sauce unhindered. We had such a good time that we came back for lunch next day before leaving town. #3, 4, 5 please! So, mystery from last visit solved! Is the #4 chicken noodle soup khao pi-ak? You can definitely argue, but I wouldn't say so. Certainly it didn't have the correct noodle, but that's certainly understandable, though you could argue the noodle has a major effect on the soup. The lighter broth here gets overpowered by the aromatics. I taste ginger, in the way of Cantonese ginger dipping paste. Chicken flavor not as intense as my khao pi-ak experiences. Drink wise, we had the Thai tea on the first night, and the coffee, pea flower tea, and roasted coconut juice in a can next lunch. The coconut juice you can get in a store.  The Thai tea comes cloudy. You will have to mix the unsweetened milk and sweet tea yourself. Mixed, it's not as sweet as what I've had in the past, which I prefer since usually, Thai tea is way too sweet, and leaves a film in my mouth. This was more refreshing.  The coffee is closer to Asian style, heavy coffee flavor but definitely sweet and thicker than 'Bucks. The peaflower tea is a good choice if you enjoy the flavor of pea leaves/shoots, a definition of plant flavor, a love or hate sort of flavor. Comes blue, and in a porcelain tea pot if you get it hot. Now, the food might come off under salted for some. Not sure if the 8000ft altitude air is a factor, but if you need the extra dose of hypertension, there's always the crazy bean. Sorry that's harsh, but that was my experience, and I ain't gonna lie. Due to the way the egg noodle they use here are made, they have a very strong bounce/bite but there could be a baking-soda-esque odor. This is normal. Authentic wonton noodles and some ramen noodles are like that too. The char siu are made in house, similar to -but much leaner than- Cantonese/Chinese style. Flavor is there, not dry, healthier too, but lean is lean if you're picky. --------------------------------------------------------- * Yes, too much service exist, and it's intrusive. If you are having a good conversation with the staff, that's nice. If they come by every 5 minutes asking if you need anything, that's dry and becomes annoying. ** Hope you found that reference funny rather than annoying. *** Burgers are easy to make at home too, but burger shops are still plenty around. Quite disappointing. We tried the place after having read the positive reviews. We gave it 4 stars for the quick, efficient service & 2 stars for the quality of the Pho. Coming from the SF Bay Area, we found the Beef & Chicken Pho served here were both underwhelming. The broth was just salty & lacked the complexity of flavors. Seems the place skimps on the fresh veggies & herbs too. The few pieces given looked tired & not so fresh. The chicken pieces were simply chunks thrown into the broth instead of being cut thinly.
