Upon arrival we were seated immediately. We had to hail down a waiter for the menu and water. The first 10 minutes after ordering our noodles came. We were still waiting another 50 minutes for a pickled dish and beef pancake. They never came. I asked to cancel both items but they did not! It shouldn't take 50 minutes to serve a pickled dish (premade) to a table! I was observing others being served the same dish I ordered and we were seated at the same time. They brought my pickled dish (i asked to cancel) and were very upset. We were fortunately able to cancel the beef pancake after letting the waiter know we were not given it, but he assumed we had it inside our takeout box! So because they are just only the first week in, they need to work better with their staff! I asked multiple times and they run away and do something else. Service sucks here. read more

Ordered the Traditional Hand Pulled Noodle Soup, Xialong buns, and Beef Pancake Rolls. Came here last Wednesday evening and the restaurant was packed with people. Hopefully the food is worth the wait. First issue we noticed was that the workers were calling out names on the waitlist quickly and crossing off names without checking with people waiting outside near the front of the entrance. They need to speak louder so people not standing directly next to them can hear. Maybe they should have a number system instead. I was standing outside and couldn't hear the names being called, but luckily my wife was standing inside and quickly called me to go inside. The service was slow. We had to get our own water, napkins, utensils, and had to ask for the menu. We also had to get the attention of a waitress to place our order and later check on our order due to the long wait time. The food: 1. Traditional Hand Pulled Noodle Soup - there was a special BOGO for this item, which was a nice promotion. This dish came out quickly. It came with thin slices of beef. The soup/ broth was flavorful. I ordered a medium spicy version with the "large" noodles. It didn't come with as much meat as the photo in the menu. The sliced beef tasted alright. Wish there was more like the photo in the menu. Not much flavor to the meat. The hot sauce helps though. The noodles tasted fresh and had a good chewiness to them. 2. The Xialong buns too over 40 minutes to arrive after we placed our order. Had to ask them to check on the order. The skin is too thick for my liking. The soup inside the buns was flavorful and the meat tasted okay. Not worth the long wait though. 3. Beef pancake rolls - we didn't get our order. Asked the waiter to check on our order, but never heard back from that guy. Asked another waiter to check on our order and also didn't get an update. After around 50 minutes to an hour into our meal, we were finished with everything else we asked for them to cancel the order of beef pancake rolls because their was no update and the wait was way too long. I actually overheard another table asking about their order and was complaining about the long wait also. Overall, I liked the Traditional Hand Pulled Noodle Soup. The Xialong buns were okay. They were comparable to Xialong buns from similar restaurants, but the wait time wasn't worth it. Couldn't even try the beef pancake rolls due to the outrageous wait time and lack of update on how much longer it would take. Also there was no apology from the staff for the missing order or lack of follow-up to check on that missing order. Overall, disappointing first experience. There are some other items I'd like to try on their menu, so I'll go back to try those and update my review later. read more

This place is insanely incredible. If you like Noodz, then come. Even better fresh hand pulled. We were worried the service would be bad when reading the other reviews but no issues and the server was attentive. There was a 10-20 minute wait time, the place is big too. I'm a Noodz lover and this place hits all my needs. We got the traditional beef noodle soup, xialongbao, Green onion beef roll, fried rice, skewers, dumplings and a few other side dishes. No notes on any. I love spice so added in the chili oil from the table, I believe they make it in house. Sometimes you just need a bowl of Noodz to make you feel better. Pulled up to Noodle Panda in SF and decided to try their milk tea--super smooth and refreshing. The drinks in the pic were creamy, not too sweet, and actually had a good tea flavor (not just sugar and milk like some spots). You can tell they care about quality even with just the drinks. Food is decently flavored, leaning on the blander side, but twice I've been and they've consistently messed up my order and delivered something I didn't ask for and I had to wait super long to receive a corrected meal. I dont order anything complicated, but they never had given me what I've ordered on a first try. Also, the first time I went, there were chunks of brown gunk floating around in my water. I pointed it out and they replaced it with a water that still had brown chunks in it. My partner's water was fine though. Interesting... Really good restaurant along the Taraval corridor. Hand pulled noodles that are freshly made. Tasty and authentic, the food are something you can't easily get in the bay area. new noodle shop on taraval and first off i love the employee hats. they are pandas! so on brand with the restaurant. we came around 1130 on a saturday and it wasnt too busy but by 1230 there was a wait out the door! they have many different noodle options to choose from. i went with the handpulled fatty noodles and they were chewy and filling and oh so delicious. the braised beef was very tender and flavorful. the broth was beefy with deep flavors. the portion was a good size where i was debating if i wanted to finish this or take it home. i also tried the pan fried dumplings which were pretty good size and filling. but with noodles and dumplings, i was completely stuffed. i would try the XLBs next time i come. in an area with lots of good asian foods, this place does stand out read more

Service was extremely bad since the moment I walked in. I waited by the door to be seated and the restaurant was relatively empty too, but was not acknowledged for a long time. When a server finally passed by the door, he did not greet us until we asked him if we are able to be seated and he passively told us to just sit anywhere. Then put a sign at the door saying that or wave us in! Lady was wiping their extremely wet workstation right next to us mid meal and flicked a bunch of water and soup onto the ground with a few drops landing on our feet. She did not apologize either and did not wipe up the floor either. They are lucky no one slipped and got hurt. Did not speak a single word, which felt extremely rude, but he would stare and see how much tip you were going to give. Went during the lunch rush on a weekday and the server said they ran out of skewers so we couldn't order the combo special. He also said they ran out of milk tea. It was disappointing but what was more disappointing was seeing multiple tables ordering after us getting skewers. The noodle soup came in a huge bowl with very little noodles that were all uniform and didn't seem to have been hand-pulled. Also broth was light and a light brown and lacked flavorful depth. The sautéed cabbage was completely soaked in oil and overcooked. Payment was done in front of your face as they hold the iPad with the pressure of 15+% tip as the minimum. Who wouldn't want an exciting hand pulled noodle shop in the hood? This place opened to high expectations. TL;DR Food is a mixed bag, and service still needs work. The place is bright, spacious, and inviting. Can't miss the signage. It's got a cleaner and more modern feel than many other spots in the area. Menu is appealing. I'm no expert in Chinese cuisine so I can't describe what region or style it represents, but there are lots of familiar and new options. Clearly noodles are the star. The wok fried noodles were tasty and had a perfect chew. Accompanying meat and veggie garnishes were fine. Tomato and egg noodle soup was good, but I've had better versions elsewhere. The noodles themselves were delicious. Beef roll pancake was a disaster. Server room temp, and they forgot to season it. Bland pancake with bland beef. Up the block at House of Pancakes this same dish is very flavorful and has a hoisin thing going on. Did they forget sauce here? Cucumber salad also way less flavorful than HoP. No vinegar, just salt and garlic. Lamb skewers was spiced very well. Meat was too fatty for my liking. Sauteed string beans were tasty but they didn't remove all the stringy bits from the beans so it was hard to eat. Prices and portion sizes seemed typical. Service was confusing. We were in the middle of qr code ordering when a server came over to take our order. They seemed confused about some of their menu options (I think due to newness of the place) and also struggled to explain them in English. I got the braised beef noodle soup and omg the broth was rich and cozy, and the beef literally melted in my mouth. Like... comfort food LEVEL 100. The vibes here are also super warm and welcoming. The staff treats you like family (probably because it is family-owned ), and you can feel the love in every bowl. It's giving: cozy neighborhood gem, but with noodles that are definitely your new comfort food! If you're in SF and not eating here, you're honestly missing out.
