Loved the dish I got here, which was the beef brisket with rice roll cooked in the clay pot. They have a version of the dish that comes without the clay pot, but for $1 more, I think the clay pot version is worth it. The rice rolls were so tender and soaked up all the flavor of the rich, hearty beef broth. The brisket was also very tender and juicy. I only wish that there was more protein that came with the dish. They also provide some delicious, complimentary hot tea to go with your meal. This place has great options for a very decent price, will definitely be back. read more

Service was average, so let's get to the food: Beef Porridge: The texture of the porridge was good, the flavor decidedly peppery and the beef is sliced for what you'd expect in a Beef and Broccoli dish. It was one dimensional - peppery. Meh. The Chinese Donut ordered was a half piece and came hot. HK Style Won Ton Noodle: Was on par with the much lower price bowl I had when it was Won Ton House. The higher cost made it less acceptable. Curry Chicken Vermicelli: It was spicy. Even a bit too spicy for me, but the real issue for me was that the chicken was just one drumstick. Not only is it the cheapest part of the chicken, it was also just one piece. For what this dish cost, I do not expect to deal with gnawing on a bone and getting fingers messy with the curry slurry. I'm not a big fan of wonton noodle but the way they cook their noodles and the flavor of the wonton noodle soup, reminds me of the flavor I had growing up in Hong Kong. My favorite is still the beef stew Lo Mein. It's full of flavors and the texture of the noodle is crunchy yet soft. The staff there really listen to their customers' comments. My mom and I stopped by and got the vegetarian flat rice noodle soup for take out. We both have small appetites and I think it splits evenly into 2 servings. The Chinese broccoli and vegetarian meatballs (5 pieces) were good, but the tofu (4 pieces) was ok. Even though it had a lot of spices on it, it still felt a bit bland. The noodles were good and the broth was on the blander side, but still had flavor. Something to note is that... I think there's cinnamon in the broth and on the tofu? Our table ordered Beef, wanton, and tendon soups, fried calamari, cold beef appetizer, garlic fries. The beef was very tender and falls apart in your mouth, the tendon was mostly tender but I prefer smaller cut portions, the egg noodle was ok, but the wanton with filled with a good amount of meat and the wrapping wasn't too thick. As for the soup it was good no "wow" factor for me. The fried Calamari was excellent. It didn't have too much breading and had a great crunch. I would like to see how it would taste fried a little less. You have to ask for the wasabi Mayo to dip your calamari, so good, but I love wasabi. I never had the cold beef. It's was tasty but I prefer any meat warm to hot. It was delicious with the chili oil Finally the garlic fries. It has garlic sprinkled on top which I enjoyed. I wouldn't mind if there were more added. It was delicious but I would prefer a little more crispy. Parking was not an issue during lunch. "I am giving this dish 4 stars out of 5," I remarked to co-owner Remy Loo after I tasted the "Stewed Beef Brisket with Wonton Noodle Soup 牛腩鮮蝦雲吞湯樋." I tasted the broth first and immediately smiled. "大地魚湯底 dried fish soup base," I said to myself. On the mark. Incredibly delicious. Then I sampled the beef brisket. Another winner. Perfectly tender, moist, and savory. It reminded me of the amazing beef brisket that once was sold at this same location when it was Wonton House. Later on I found out the same chef continued on with this new place. After I ate the noodles. Al dente with a nice bite. Clean. Well made since I did not taste any "kansui 梘水," aka lye water or alkaline salt that is used to give the noodles that special texture. (Also used in making ramen.) Last I went for the wontons. Definitely the old HongKong style with half shrimp and half minced pork. Super fresh. Good size. Very tasty and solid. The proportions are really big sized, which is good as it is fair for the price. Their chili sauce that they serve is very good. Stopped by for a late Saturday lunch around 2pm and the restaurant was empty, but we liked the look of the menu. There are a lot of tables in the seating area and it was nice and clean in the space. The servers were helpful and taking a much needed break before their dinner crowd. I ordered the chili oil wontons and my boyfriend ordered the seafood lo mein. They were accommodating with pescetarian restrictions and did not put any beef products in the light sauce the seafood lo mein was tossed in. It was still really flavorful and delicious. It came with a bunch of fried seafood, which was not what I was expecting, but still delicious. There was fried shrimp, fish cakes, calamari, and a couple pieces of bok choy. Their house chili oil is delicious and their pickled carrots and daikon are the perfect balance to the fried seafood. The dry wonton mein was cooked perfectly with the alkaline taste and bounciness I look for in a good bowl of wonton noodles. I liked the chili oil wontons, the heat definitely builds up.
