Ok, but I didn't really care for the flavors myself. I don't think I'll be ordering from them again.

I tried the L1 Beef Guilin style noodle which I thought was noodles with a bowl of broth on the side, but it came all in one bowl. The broth was a little bland and a lot greasy, the vegetables were almost non-existent and the beef was 90% fat/gristle. What beef there was tasted okay, albeit a little stringy. Still my fav noodle shop! Loved the curry noodle soup- pipping hot and flavorful! Beef stew with hk noodles so generous portions. Pigs feet was tender with great chew. Next time I'll get the wings- dude next door looked so crunchy and I saw the juices. Parking- super easy. Nice attentive service. Clean space. I liked hearing the old Cantonese men talking (miss that from my childhood). After got donuts up 500 ft block at Twisted- guava donut and apple fritter to finish it off. Soo happy! This Noodle cafe is not wrapping fresh made dumplings. Its from Costco. I can sample the same dumplings at Costco. This place is ripping you off. Dumplings are not made from the kitchen, its outta a frozen bag. Never returning... totally a big disappointment & here's the place to rip of your money off and f you like Tourist food. read more

Just finished lunch at Noodle Stop (first visit). I had beef stew lo mein (came with broth on the side), and wife had the vegetarian soup flat rice noodles (ho fun). I would rate my dish less than one star and my wife rated hers 3.5stars. My noodles were over cooked and then some, the one piece of bok choy was mush. Beef stew was chewy with 2 pieces inedible due to toughness. Overall, the dish lacked flavor. I added hot sauce and vinegar to help my food more palatable. I tried a piece of tofu from my wife's bowl and it was good, hence the 3 star review. Btw, the broth that accompanied my dish was overly seasoned with white pepper. Service was typical; they sit you, take your order, bring your food, and the check when you're done. They did refill my tea once :) read more

We went to Noodle Stop for a late lunch. The two of us ordered Dumpling Noodle soup. There was a delay in getting our food which was okay because we weren't in a rush. To our dismay, the soup had NO flavor whatsoever not even salty. The dumplings which should be like larger wontons were more like pot stickers!! We were very disappointed in the bowls of basic noodles and dumplings. The waitstaff was very nice and apologetic when it took so long for us to get our order. Sorry to say, we will not be going back anytime soon. read more

What a scene! Just when I sat down at the table, I saw the owner handing a $20 bill to a senior customer. The owner explained that he thought the senior had mistakenly left a $20 bill instead of a $1 upon taking back the changes (probably intended) to leave just a few bucks as tips for the last time visiting the restaurant; that amount apparently was inappropriately too much, that the owner considered not intentional, for the money spent on the food the senior enjoyed. This is a rare demonstration of honesty and integrity of humanity. Two thumbs up for the owner, on top of the good food at decent prices. I will definitely come back again and again. read more

Location under new management. Overall, the food was good/decent. I would probably rate 3.5. The recipes are pretty close to the prior owner (see below) with the portions slightly larger commensurate with higher prices. I ordered won ton noodle soup and beef brisket ho fun soup (my go to). The won ton noodles had good texture, snappy. The soup flavor was good, but the won tons were average or below. The meat was mushy, both the shrimp and pork and the skins were doughy. The skins even broke through on several won tons. (I wish there were a won ton shop that was closer to true Hong Kong quality). The ho fun was fresh and fairly soft. The brisket was a little tough. I think they could braise it slightly longer. A little bit of history for anyone who cares... This location has had three owners over the last 35+ years (I've been coming occasionally since then, but preferred Just Won Ton). The first owner sold it and reopen "Just Won Ton" on Vicente, which has recently closed. The second owners operated it for several decades and recently sold to the current owner. read more

Came here for a catch up dinner with my friend at 6 pm on a Friday and it was empty. -- B4. STEWED BEEF BRISKET NOODLE SOUP I got mine with thin egg noodles to keep it classic. The beef was very tender and the flavor was good. They also gave a decent amount of it. The broth was alright, it had a cleaner taste but I kinda wish there was a bit of oomph. Looking at photos after the fact, I wish I knew about the homemade chili oil so I could've requested it. Better yet, I wish they offered it. The portion was enough to fill me up but not leave me bloated. I do wish they added some sort of greens inside the soup like most other places. Came her on a Saturday around 1 and had a pleasant surprise , they have cha cheung noodles almost like the old won ton house but comes on a plate The beef brisket was very tender I'm definitely a fan and would come back to try other stuff on the menu . We ordered 4 things and owner gave us a sample of another plate Beef Congee - The texture of the congee was excellent. Extremely smooth. Came pipping hot which is rare these days. Beef was very tender. Only nit is that the congee needed a little more salt and/or flavor. Chinese Donut - Was excellent. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Won Ton Noodle Soup - Bowl came out pipping how which I appreciate. Noodle has good bounce and soup has good aroma and flavor. Won Ton had less "bounce" than I was expecting. Beef Brisket - I actually have not had this but saw it at another table and it looks really good. So I ordered some to go and will update this review. Beef cold plate - Owner gave us a sample and it is really good. Great flavor and definitely recommends. A 5 out of 5. Service was very friendly and excellent. Came for lunch today, got seated right away, and was offered hot tea. Ordered: 1. E8: Liwan Sampan Porridge: bowl was super hot and filled with lots of ingredients. Taste was very good and remained hot until we finished. 2. J22: Braised Beef Brisket with Noodle Rolls in Clay Pot was disappointing. Although it came bubbling hot, some of the rice noodle rolls were not cooked thoroughly and therefore tasted hard and doughy. Beef brisket was chewy and not very tasty. The gravy was on the watery side and lacked seasonings. 3. M4: Spicy Curry Beef Brisket Soup Noodles was a letdown. It was bland despite its mild spice level and faint curry taste. The curry color was good so I had high hopes initially. Beef brisket lacked depth of flavor and was chewy. Server was very nice and personable. Seating is comfortable. Like other reviewers mentioned, maybe we'll come back and order different items that may be more tasty. read more

Takes a special kind of people to give a local small business 1* in their first week without even trying their food. These guys just opened and this is their first Saturday. Give them a break! They explained they are still training people, hence the soft opening. Ordered the wun tun noodle with beef brisket on the side. Food came out pretty quick. Also Had the garlic fries and chili beef slices. Big portions enough to share with 4 people. I like their house made chili oil. Soup and wun tun is legit. Ordered a couple soups to go and definitely will be coming back. My kids and I shared the wonton noodle soup and the stewed beef brisket noodle soup. The wontons were perfectly cooked, and I really liked the texture! The broth was a pleasant surprise - was nice and strong and great with the noodles. And it didn't feel like a sodium bomb! :) Beef brisket was also a winner - I loved the texture and chewiness. I thought my kids would find it weird but they actually liked it too. Holy smokes, make sure you get the chili oil but make sure it doesn't go down the wrong pipe! I mixed this into my soup later to see how it would change the flavor. Yum! Lots of depth that I'm not used to from chili oil. And it definitely gave the soup a different dimension of flavor. Came in on a Saturday night after drinking a bit. We ordered 3 porridges and 2 noodle dishes however my porridge came extremely late and my fried bread got cold. I asked to heat it up and she came back with an oil soaked rag essentially and had the audacity to ask if it was okay. Guess what. It's not okay. How expensive is it to get me a new piece of bread? Hong Kong milk tea strong so it is legit. I asked for light sweet. good portions with noodle soups and lo mein. The fries was freaking huge portion, I couldn't finish. soup is on the lighter side but I like cleaner soup base. not thirsty after eating here which is appreciated. they have a new menu now with added items. I will take a photo next time I go. I live only half a block away so I can say for certainty that parking isn't too hard to find. there is residential and metered parking. there is two big TV there so perfect if you want to eat with entertainment. This review is not for the food, but customer service. Unfortunately, I was hyped to try this place, but after waiting 15 minutes, I walked out. I had 2 elderly parents with me and as soon as someone came in, they we asked to go to a table while we were still waiting. They could of cleaned up a table to seat us as it was not busy at all. I'm glad we didn't stay as another couple left also after being told they waited 30 mins for food and it was subpar. I'm for customer service and small business, but this is not acceptable for a brand new restaurant. read more

Great food and great service, the wonton and noodle are very authentic, it's a bit pricy but the portion live up to the cost. Very traditional Cantonese/Hong Kong style wonton noodle soups. The soups we got were not very flavorful. We also tried the curry fish balls and it had no flavor either. The price point is reasonable and the service is very good. They're quick and very nice. read more

After Just Won Ton closed, I've been searching for a new go-to won ton noodle soup place in the Sunset. I tried Noodle Stop for lunch and ordered the basic Hong Kong Won Ton Noodle Soup as a fundamental test. Good flavored broth, standard egg noodle, and decent won tons. Place is located at the former "Wonton House" on Noriega. Good variety for a soft opening menu. Seeing how chilly the weather was, my friends and I all ordered the beef brisket wonton noodle soup. We all enjoyed the wontons, noodle, and soup, but were divisive on the beef brisket. One of my friends got more tripe/organ parts (which she wasn't too fond of) and less meat. I'm ok with all of it, except one of my brisket meats were a bit chewier than the rest. Other than that, the portions were just right, service was friendly and culturally diverse. One friendly suggestion: although a good idea to have a culturally diverse staff, a couple of the wait staff could learn to be familiar with some of the menu items in Chinese, so to cater to the more Chinese-speaking customers. I told one waiter I wanted the "beef brisket wonton noodles" in Cantonese, but he didn't appear to understand, so I switched to English and said "B5". I considered the shrimps and meat filling of the wontons over-flavored to cover up the lack of freshness. The broth of the noodles soup was underwhelming and texture of the noodles were just mediocre. The only good item was their chili oil. This place is a small family owned won tun noodle restaurant that has a pretty good selection of food items. I tried the Beef Stew won tun noodle soup. It was flavorful but only had three won tuns. It tasted mediocre. I ordered the jook with fish and it had big sized portions and a good flavor served along with the fried Chinese donut. Their fried shrimp was ok and nothing spectacular. I thought the prices were a bit high for the quality of food being presented. I like to support small businesses but I think it's overpriced for what you're getting and can definitely do better going elsewhere. read more
