I came by for lunch with family and got the Pad Kee Mao, Crabmeat fried rice, and the shrimp blankets. The flavor one everything was great and the portions were also pretty big. I was really amazed at the amount of crab in the fried rice. The pad kee mao was also really good and had a nice spicy taste that wasn't overpowering. However, my favorite was definitely the shrimp blankets. I have a soft spot for fried foods and these were shrimps were fried to perfection and came with a nice sweet and spicy sauce. read more

Noodlewave has to be one of my go to places to eat Thai food whenever I'm craving it. But this 3 stars is mainly for this location! The food is still great, it is still as good and great quality as the one in Richardson I usually go to, but the service here is so bad! My friend and I came in and we asked for a water, we didn't get served water until the 3rd time asking for it. I felt a little bit rushed, but I usually feel like that at all asian restaurants so that's fine. I just didn't understand why cause there was no wait at the door or anything. After our meal was brought to us late, we didn't get refills at all until the END of our meal... When it was time for our check, we got 2 different other tables checks before we got our own. It was kind of ridiculous. Like I said the food was still good and I still consider it a go to thai restaurant but the service was just so bad... This location in Garland is smaller than the other ones, even smaller than the Frisco location. I haven't been to any other location in a while but for the Garland location they have a papaya salad set. You get sticky rice, grilled chicken and papaya salad for $13. You can get the papaya salad Thai or Lao style. I got mine Lao style, level 4 spicy. Word of caution, they do not hold back on their chillies. Overall a good dish but the portion is pretty small and I was left hungry. The crispy chicken green curry is just as good here as the other locations. The only concern was that I ordered my rice without mushrooms, telling waitress I am highly allergic, so she shortly after brings me a soup full of them. Noodle Wave replaced Thai Jasmine and I am so glad it did. They slightly amped up the place up a bit and made it more modern looking. Noodle Wave's food trumps Thai Jasmine's. They have their main location in Richardson (the far end of Richardson which borders Dallas) off of Spring Valley and they serve up the same quality Thai food bursting in flavors whereas Thai Jasmine was kinda bland. Can't go wrong with anything you order here really. Pad Kee mow is a staple for me. Level 4 spiciness (the highest level of heat) isn't all that spicy to me, unfortunately. The service is great here. Noodle wave is easily one of the top 3 best Thai restaurants I've experienced in the DFW and I'm glad they expanded to Garland. Unfortunately it's located within the vicinity of Lifetime Fitness (my gym) so I may be cancelling out all my workouts with Thai food... read more

Horrible customer service. My noodles were burnt and I ordered Thai spicy, level 5. What I got was bland and burnt noodles with no spice or flavor. They closed at 3 and expected to keep the food until they reopened at 5. I obviously wasn't going to keep the food if they're not open. Other businesses would have apologized and either remade the order or refunded. I spoke to 4 different people, including the manager, and they were rude and took no accountability. And didn't resolve the issue. Save your money and go to Asian Mint, much better food and customer satisfaction. read more

I've been coming here at least once a week since I moved to Garland. The previous orders were great, nothing's wrong with it. Today, I eat vegetarian so I ordered Tofu Padthai togo. I got shock seeing the shrimp tail in my Padthai. It's not the tail only but still has the meat inside, looks like it's from the leftover of someone else's plate. So disgusting. I went to the restroom immediately and throw up everything because it's so disgusting and I'm vegetarian person. I don't know how they get that shrimp tail in my order. Here's a thought: write it where it can be seen somewhere. And then here is the best part. One of our kids wanted Which Which next door... Still four of us wanted to try this place. Guess they are doing pretty good because despite the dinner prices at 3pm, we were still going to give it a go.. That is, until one of the kids brought in her sandwich from next door. I have always thought the original location on Spring Vally at Coit was the best Thai food I have ever had. I'm not a Thai expert, I just know it is a cut above everything else I have tried. Nobody else seems to have the full complement of spices. That, and they are BYOB. I stopped going there because some clientele began to make me feel like I did not belong there. We have found some other pretty good spots. Not as good, but nearly. Enter the new Garland location and a host of new possibilities! We tried it Saturday night, and although we did not have to wait for a table like the original location (+), and nobody was staring us down (++), we also found they are not BYOB. -1 The table we were seated at in the back had a buzz fan overhead. My wife hates fans blowing on her, but I noticed when I sat down I did not feel it. She evidently still did at her seat, and although she did not say anything at the time, complained afterward. - 2, although this is fixable. The food comes out and looks the same as what we have had before: Me ordering a non-Thai dish- Siracha Chicken- always super fiery hot but delicious. I had them add veggies, and they served them on the side in a bowl, which was fine by me. Her ordering Panang with Chicken. Only she said afterward there were lots of mushrooms, but very little chicken. I note that at Spring Valley, we always had a lot of meat when meat was ordered. -3. Service was fine. The atmosphere is nice, they have done a good job of making a strip center restaurant into something that feels less like a strip center. some of our issues could have been corrected on the spot. I know I would have moved if the fan was on me, and if my dish was not right I would send it back. So I don't weight those too heavily. I note a large grassy area on the side of the restaurant. This would be ideal to convert to a patio for dining al-fresco. read more

My mom and I decided to try this place because I was really craving Khao Soi and not a lot of Thai restaurants serve it. I was happy that they served it. We ordered the papaya special that came with sticky rice and chicken, we also ordered curry Puffs and pad Thai along with the Khao Soi. I must say every dish was great! My mom and I really liked the papaya salad. And I also really loved the Khao Soi, the portions are really large. I felt stuffed after eating the entire bowl. Came here with my family to sit down and eat dinner. We ordered chicken spring rolls to begin with. Our waitress brought them out to us cold. My daughter took half of a roll, and that's when I knew it was cold. I had it sent back. They re fried the same egg rolls and brought the same ones back out to us with the half missing that my daughter had took. They were extremely oily and extra browned. I found that very unprofessional. I ordered almond siracha chicken with extra sauce. They forgot my extra sauce, and I reminded the waitress. She said she didn't give it to me because it was $1.50 extra. I told her I had no problem with the price. And she still didn't bring it. I reminded her a third time, and I guess she still forgot. The 4th time I told her just box up my food, and when she handed me my hand written receipt she wrote down almond siracha sauce $1.50. I was like wait a minute, as many times as I reminded you...'you didn't even bring the sauce but you hand wrote it on my receipt? The service here was not great at all, and I will not be returning. They had a lunch special going on which included soup, pad Thai, green curry, and your choice of dessert. So of course thats what I ordered to get a taste of everything. Not sure if it's just this location or what: 1) Most of our party (6 people) didn't get silverware/napkins, when we asked for some they brought them out one by one and we kept having to ask. 2) The food is pretty pricey, similar quality to cheaper thai places. 3) They brought out the food one by one, which would be fine except the last person got their food 10-15 minutes after the first person. Just bring out the food all at once... 4) People ordered dishes without specific things and still received them.
