Service is not very friendly at this location One particular server I visited late night w/ family after our concert & my sister in-law noticed the negative /rudeness from the male server who took our order. Working with customers most likely isn't his best asset! Food was great

5 stars because I'm nostalgic and grew up with Norm's in Torrance. I have always loved Norms. Christmas Eve morning we had a terrific breakfast, Olivia was our server. She was great. Food - Four Deuces for $8.99! Yes, please! Everything cooked as expected, good. Classic Eggs Benedict $13.99, good as well. Eggs perfect. Coffee is how it is supposed to taste, not Starbucks crap. Delicious at $3.99.

Food was good but I miss getting a side salad instead of fries etc with my sandwich. They were a bit understaffed for a Friday evening but our waitress was very polite. Restaurant was clean and had some awesome Gen X music. Please bring back side salad as an option. Not everyone wants a starch, some like salad.

Norms, always open. Girlfriend suggested Norms for dinner so we came in. She ordered the porterhouse steak and eggs with pancakes. I went with French toast and added eggs and bacon. My meal was good. Unfortunately my girlfriend's steak was overcooked. She ordered it medium but it came out well done. Service was good, server took our drink orders, returning for our food orders and checked on us a couple of times while we were eating, refilled our drinks, etc.

Once upon a time, back to Norm's! Thank you for serving breakfast all day! This faerie Queen came in hangry and left a much kinder human with food in her belly. The end.

Been a minute since my last Four Duces!

I was here with my in-laws and had a great breakfast and experience. Norm's typically does a great job and today was just that; a great experience. My wife and I shared the Four Duces with home style potatoes and an order of pancakes. Everything was perfect and while we shared, it was more than we could eat. The service was great and it was packed so we kind of crammed into a booth.

We ordered all kinds of food and everything we had was good. The restaurant is clean and has a cool vibe, not super Instagramable but not bad. We also got two margaritas they were good and strong! A weekend brunch with friends brought me to Madre's Whittier, where the menu offered plenty of tempting options--and a few unexpected lessons about ordering seafood. I tried the Ensenada Omelet, loaded with shrimp, salmon, crab, and octopus. Now, I'm a seafood lover, but octopus and I aren't exactly close friends. I asked if it could be removed, but since the seafood mix is pre-made, the octopus had already RSVP'd to the party. The omelet was good, topped with a creamy sauce, but not something I'd order again. The crab appeared to be imitation crab, and while everything was prepared well, it just wasn't a standout for me. The real star? The strawberry pancakes. Delicious! Next time, I'd order those with a side of eggs and call it a win. I also sampled the chilaquiles, and now that's a dish I'd come back for. The Tiramisu Latte was another favorite--not overly sweet and packed with that classic tiramisu flavor I love. A special shoutout to our waitress, Annie, who was attentive, friendly, and made our brunch experience even better. My Verdict: Skip the Ensenada Omelet and build your brunch around the stars of the menu instead. The strawberry pancakes are the must-order item, the chilaquiles are a strong savory choice, and the Tiramisu Latte ties everything together. If you order wisely, Madre's delivers a brunch worth coming back for.

We got there without the usual long wait, which was a nice surprise! I ordered the Cali Toast with country potatoes and a Rose Latte, and everything was so good. The Cali Toast is one of my go to orders, and the Rose Latte is definitely worth trying if you're in the mood for something a little different. We sat outside, and the patio has such a relaxing vibe, perfect for lingering over coffee and good conversation. I've been coming here for years, and it's one of those places I always find myself coming back to. Great food, friendly service, and consistently a solid breakfast spot. There is more outdoor seating on the covered patio than indoor seating. Both seating areas are nice. The lady who seated us was very friendly and pretty attentive and especially considering she wad handling a lot of other tables. Both the house eggs Benedict and house French toast were good. Was expecting crispy bacon on the benny considering the description, but the only difference from classic seemed to be the avocado. The benny egg and muffin were both collected well, especially the eggs they did a great job on those. Wife didn't like the flavor of the hollandaise sauce, but thought it was fine. She liked the French toast much better. You did not need syrup as the butter cream and chocolate sauce were plenty sweet on their own. Half serving is probably ok for one person, full was nice to share. The bathroom was clean, large, and single person--great for a pit stop before you head out! The mason jar waters were cool. Overall, nice local joint for a peaceful weekend or vacation breakfast. Definitely recommend giving them a try. Will be back sometime.

Their moles are definitely worth trying. We've had the mole negro and the mole pipián, and both were delicious. The mole negro is a little sweeter, while the pipián has more spice. They also serve tortilla chips with mole, which is something I haven't seen at most Mexican restaurants. The reason I can't give 5 stars is because the service has been hit or miss. We've been here three times. The first time was shortly after they opened. The food tasted decent but came out cold, and the service wasn't the best. It was during the week and not very busy, so we figured they were still working out the kinks of being a new restaurant. After some time, we decided to give them another try. We went on a busy Friday night and were seated right away. The service was much better and everything seemed to be running more smoothly. We talked with the owner who was working as well as his wife who was bartending. They were both really friendly, and the owner seemed genuinely happy that we came back after we told him about our first experience. He even gave my husband a free beer after we moved to the bar to keep drinking after we finished our meals to allow for other guests to dine at the table we were. There was also a trio playing that night which added to the ambiance and was a nice way to end the work week. Our most recent visit was a couple of weeks ago for my husband's birthday. It was during the week and once again they were short-staffed. There was only one waitress taking care of the entire restaurant. She was so sweet and hustling the whole time but she was also bartending while serving every table. We definitely had to pack our patience because she was doing the best she could. Overall, Sol 626 has so much potential to be a great spot. The food, drinks, and atmosphere are what keep bringing us back. They need a little more staffing so the service can be as good as everything else.

This restaurant is in such an obscure location, I can't believe I was going to a Burrito Track across the street for so many years not knowing this place existed. Friendly staff and prompt service. The unfortunate negative is it's location and I'm referring to parking. There must be 8 business crammed into this lot. With a bar to the right and a laudermat on its left finding a parking spot is like winning the lotto. Now layer in one driveway and you have to make a 3 point turn just to navigate to leave. The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.

All adjectives you want running through your mind after the first bitesss. We ordered stuffed mushroom- hot and nicely seasoned. Mushrooms not overcooked and stuffing not overly cheesy. The shrimp linguine another hit with fresh tomatoes and jumbo shrimp with a nice snap. The light seasoning with lots of garlic was just perfect. We also ordered the beef short ribs.
