The dessert here is much much better then the food. We came to the restaurant twice. Once for just dessert, all of the dessert was excellent and very high quality. As close to perfect as could be. The food though was just okay. We had pizza and the crust was paper thin, didn't rise at all where the toppings were and didn't taste like the mozzarella was fresh in the margheirta pizza. The vodka pasta was reheated and just warm- not hot. The noodles were very over cooked. The place claims to make all the pasta fresh but this did not taste like fresh pasta and if it was it was cooked many days prior and reheated. No hint of vodka sauce. Just tasted like oily red sauce with some cheese thrown in. Very thin. We wouldn't go back for food but would definitely go back for dessert. Nice location. So very happy NI came south (don't go to Green Hills if I can help it ) & this quickly became one of our new favorite patios before the weather turned too cold. The White Truffle Garlic Bread alone is worth a visit & their meatballs with polenta is also a frequent guest at our table. It's perhaps a little pricier than some will appreciate & you'll be hard pressed to find low-cal options, but it's always well-prepared & they have a rather substantive Happy Hour selection for the more frugally minded. read more

Met a friend who is an executive chef here for dinner. We sat at the lovely bar, as there were no reservations available. We had their happy hour margarita, and shared their happy hour pizza and wine special, as well as an order of the meatballs Everything was delicious, and overall a great value. The bartender was great; timely but not overbearing. Definitely will go again! read more

We went during lunch and had zucca chips as an appetizer... they were wonderful! They were almost overshadowed by the amazing tomato sauce that accompanied them. The tomatoes were fresh and seasoned perfectly. I chose the chicken pesto and was so surprised at how much I loved it! Typically, there is a very bland flavor to a pesto but this one was perfectly balanced and I will have a hard time not ordering this again but I really want to try other menu items. The chicken was just a touch dry but the pasta and sauce was perfect. We did ask for bread after our dishes came and I was surprised that wasn't provided after we were seated. The pre-opening of this new Franklin North Italia location was my first time at one of the restaurants and I was very pleasantly surprised! This particular restaurant is located in a convenient space in the Cool Springs area - with ample parking! It's a beautiful little restaurant with a great (albeit small) outdoor area. To start we got the white truffle garlic bread - which came highly recommended! It was incredible but a lot for just two people. It's so flavorful and delicious if you're a truffle fan. For my meal, I settled on the chicken pesto which was incredible! The capers added a nice little crunch and a different flavor to the entree. My Sauvignon blanc paired perfect with it - so smooth and buttery. For dessert, I got the Italian butter cake and it was DIVINE. I will be dreaming about that dessert, for sure! this is a great spot for a date, girl's dinner or just for a glass of wine and truffle bread at the bar. read more

We also ordered the calamari but probably wouldn't order again. It was a small portion with no sauce on a bed of arugula. Very basic and probably not worth it. Other than that a great experience! This is my second time here and I have completely enjoyed my meals here. It's a great dining experience for a night out. If you have a reservation, you could be in and out in about an hour or you could make it last a couple hours if you space your plates and have some wine. On this visit we got the calamari which was served with a picked giardiniera( think Chicago giard/with picked onions and veggies) it's good. We also had the Tuscan kale salad, the spicy meatball pizza and the spicy vodka rigatoni. The rigatoni has pancetta and sausage and it's a nice winter dish. We shared all 4 plates and truly enjoyed all of them. I could not really give you a favorite of what we had because we spaced them to come 1 at a time and enjoyed them with our wine. If you are in the area and in the mood for Italian, it's a solid spot. read more

Fresh made pasta, but what sticks out is their salad. Surprisingly good and I don't usually eat salads.

The pizza was mostly crust. The spaghetti tasted like Kraft and noodles were rubber. The staff acted like they were better than.

I've been to this place a few times now and have always been pleased. Dinner is really good, there is an extensive wine list. We enjoyed the fried zucchini and the bread as appetizers and then each (4of us) ordered a different pasta. All very good. Overall we enjoyed our dinner. The food is not bad priced, the appetizers and wine can really add up. We had a reservation and were seated on time. The service was good but became slow as our dinner was ending. (Had to wait for the check for a while, only mattered as we were heading to a concert) I do recommend and will be back. read more

Been there three times and I am pretty easy to give 5 stars, but reservation issues, slow kitchen, and not being able to give us specialty drinks on the menu due to not having ingredients, almost had me at a three star review. First, tried to Open Table reserve for a party of five this past Sunday, and was unable for anything over four, so I called and was told I couldn't due to busy brunch time. Makes no sense since their booths easily seat six. We just walked in at 2 pm, said party of 5, were seated immediately, restaurant was at just above 50% capacity. Interestingly, my Open Table App now shows my reservation for five confirmed. Daughter orders Espresso Martini and 10 minutes later, when we are all getting our drinks, she is informed that they don't have the ingredients. She ends up getting her first drink about the time we are on our second round. We did strictly appetizers and the Truffle Garlic bread is fantastic. The meatballs, Carpaccio, calamari, were all 5 star. Our server was great, but it appeared she was covering too many tables explaining the slow service which is understandable with the labor issues restaurants are facing. Our dinner was soooooo goooood! It was a snow day in Tennessee and many restaurants we knew from previous visits, to Franklin, were closed. So we had to settle for North Italia. So we got a Lyft and trudged through the snow for the final 60 feet. Then we began to discover it was truly WORTH THE TRIP. We shared a piping hot, delicious bowl of Tomato Basil soup, with some of the delicious (highly praised in reviews) toast with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and herbs; also shared a large pour of Muscato. We got a second order of toast, and then my wife had the pasta with wild mushrooms (5*) and I had the eggplant parmigiana (4.5*), just a bit spicy for my preference (but I ate all of it.) It was my birthday so I was comped the Affagoto (Espresso poured over vanilla gelato with coffee beans), sublime. My wife was thrilled with the lemon/rasberry sorbet. I wish we could eat there every month, but we live in Arizona. I just googled North Italia, There are three in Phoenix area. A dream come true. The only part of the experience that possibly surpassed the food was the service. When in TN we shall return. read more

Ordered a 20 dollar pizza for delivery and there is literally no cheese on it. I've ordered this same pizza at the Green Hills location multiple times and never did it not have cheese?
